TYR Wodapalooza // Event 4 RECAP & Event 5 PREVIEW // TEAMS

Sevan Matossian (00:00):

Where’s John Young? Bam. We’re live this Avon podcast Instagram. It’s pretty funny. I don’t have access to this and it just slowly grows and grows. It’s pretty funny and God Rios is killing it. Look at these. Look at these clips he’s got going already. Hopper, hopper skiing down the ramp.

Andrew Hiller (00:26):

Boom. Funny.

Sevan Matossian (00:30):

It looked like he was going to do a last minute dive. Look at Hopper sliding down the ramp yesterday. Still pretty agile for a big man Slide. Nice. Lower and then

Andrew Hiller (00:40):

That’s illegal what Ricky did there.

Sevan Matossian (00:42):

Oh, the diving in.

Andrew Hiller (00:43):

Yeah, you’re supposed to be touching the water first.

Sevan Matossian (00:46):

I would expect nothing less from our boy Ricky Mack.

Andrew Hiller (00:48):

That’s a nice dive

Sevan Matossian (00:49):

Though. I’m going to give him a pass.

Andrew Hiller (00:52):

That’s how you’re supposed to do it.

Sevan Matossian (00:55):

God, that’s nice. John Young. What’s up dude?

Andrew Hiller (00:58):

What’s up?

Sevan Matossian (00:59):

We all know what the big huge story is? No, not Logan’s Broken ankle. Okay, how about this video by Patrick Rio?

Andrew Hiller (01:09):

These are great.

Sevan Matossian (01:18):

Damn down. Hey dude, it’s hard to look for Yolk. Standing next to Ricky and Hopper sounds a beast. Hey, that takes some confidence too just because it’s so slippery and they’ve seen so

Speaker 3 (01:43):

Many people didn’t think we would.

Sevan Matossian (01:47):

We have so much great content. Thank you. See peptides all see all day. Big story guys. Big, big story. Big story. Which

Andrew Hiller (01:58):

One’s

Sevan Matossian (01:58):

That No Olson is not going team at the CrossFit games this year after destroying Justin Maderis one-on-one. He has a newfound confidence that he may be the best guy out there today. How about that? Hey dude, he didn’t edge Justin out by a little bit and Noah has some miles on that body.

Andrew Hiller (02:20):

He does.

Sevan Matossian (02:21):

That was pretty crazy. He looked more athletic. He looked more athletic, stronger, more agile, more aware in every way. He looked better. I know it was just a 32nd window, but stronger, faster, more agile and more aware of what was going on in that head to head Justin versus Noah right there that we got to see. Great shot. Congratulations to Waap Palooza and the film crew for giving us that. That’s why we watch. That’s why we watch Horrible stage, too horrible setting for people. Were complaining about the workout being shitty. I just think it was really where if it wasn’t there, the

Andrew Hiller (02:54):

Workout was absolutely shitty. All right. No,

Sevan Matossian (02:57):

I think it could have been better on different playing field.

Andrew Hiller (03:01):

How

Sevan Matossian (03:02):

I don’t need to see the guys turning around and I need the cameramen kind of in the middle of the playing field. I don’t need it up on a, it was too small of an area. We need

Andrew Hiller (03:09):

The soccer stadium. Yeah,

Sevan Matossian (03:11):

I think it could have been good. Do you guys have any thoughts on that? On what we saw Noah Olson do there?

Chase Ingraham (03:20):

I mean

Sevan Matossian (03:21):

Spring Chicken legend. No, he’s always

Andrew Hiller (03:24):

Been a good sprinter though.

Chase Ingraham (03:26):

Yeah, that’s wheelhouse. Noah.

Sevan Matossian (03:28):

Three different mod, three different movements. He outed. Jason,

Andrew Hiller (03:34):

Justin, Jason,

Sevan Matossian (03:35):

Justin, Justin,

Chase Ingraham (03:36):

Jason too.

Sevan Matossian (03:39):

Running, squatting, cleaning.

Chase Ingraham (03:43):

Yeah,

(03:45):

That’s a tough stage and that stage limits the amount of things you can do as far as what Flagler can pull and what Bayside can pull, but it’s also a very cool stage if you’ve ever been there at Waterloo. Tina Hills is a very cool venue and that’s the cool part about Water Palooza. They’ve got three different competition floors. They all have their own flavor and feel Flaglers, that nightclub intimate setting, Bayside’s, Bayside and Tina Hills is that cathedral like concert setting, which is neat, but it’s so small and it does challenge the programmers on how to get the most out of what they’re doing.

Sevan Matossian (04:25):

I’m going to say something really mean Chase. I’m going to say something really mean. It makes it look not professional.

Andrew Hiller (04:34):

The stage. Yeah, the chaos.

Sevan Matossian (04:37):

Yeah, the chaos. The forcing of those people. So many of world-class race horses into that setting with those bags, with those movements. It makes it,

Andrew Hiller (04:48):

I can’t believe you just dropped the P

Sevan Matossian (04:49):

Word. I know, I know. I don’t. I don’t like to drop that word.

Andrew Hiller (04:52):

You douche.

Chase Ingraham (04:54):

I think at that intensity and in chaos it does make it look a little off putting. I don’t know. I feel like all three of us were in the, were talking earlier about just changing how the athletes do the actual event instead of, I mean we all said this so I’m not taking credit for this, but every individual athlete should have done 9, 7, 5 by themselves.

Andrew Hiller (05:17):

Absolutely. And

Chase Ingraham (05:17):

Then it’s one person on the floor racing other people instead of 30 people packed into an area that barely fits 10 and I think that would help separate the chaos, extending the savanna, as you said, extending the sprints instead of doing down and back

(05:34):

Twice. Well, if it’s down and back, maybe five times the speed lessons. It’s more about fitness and attrition and carrying the bag and then you go into 9, 7, 5 and an individual and they carry again. Could be another way and then you can still keep your relay, but now you’re seeing who the fittest individuals are on the team racing other individuals on the team and then there’s not as much chaos as what it looked like because of the way it was structured. Not necessarily the event itself was bad. I think the way it was assembled could have been better.

Sevan Matossian (06:03):

We all know that. I represent the weak and the timid and the woke crowd. I’ll represent the woke crowd.

Andrew Hiller (06:14):

Yes, you do.

Sevan Matossian (06:15):

The pussies out there in the world. I had issues with the deadlift at Rogue. No one wanted to side with me. Everyone’s like, shut the fuck up. No, no,

Andrew Hiller (06:23):

No. I side with you.

Sevan Matossian (06:26):

Okay. Okay. I have little issues with asking these guys to do a max lift. What about here? This was driving me crazy too. I don’t like to see these guys having to change direction so many times with 150 pounds on their back. I was trying to think. I don’t mind change of direction. I don’t mind sprinting. I don’t mind explosiveness, but I was watching these guys having to pivot on that one foot and do that quick transition. Everyone was racing the transition. Did you guys have any issues with that? Also 150 pounds on your shoulder and you’re pivoting on one leg and I’m just thinking knees, knees, knees. I know I’m a pussy. I know.

Chase Ingraham (07:03):

That’s all I thought about the whole time.

Sevan Matossian (07:05):

You did. Okay, good.

Chase Ingraham (07:06):

Who’s going down on it?

John Young (07:08):

I might be in the minority on this. I don’t have a problem with it at all. You don’t. And you could say the same thing with running downhill

Sevan Matossian (07:14):

Your head’s twice eyes of mine. That’s why you’re a real man. You’re real.

John Young (07:19):

It’s a part of the workout. You’re sprinting. Things can happen.

Chase Ingraham (07:24):

Just I’m not saying that. I’m saying that’s what I was thinking of.

Sevan Matossian (07:28):

I’m more PFAA than Brent is

Chase Ingraham (07:30):

Running downhill like aromas. The 800 meter run aromas in 2008. Go look at those videos and it’s just like Josh Everett down the hill type video that just makes me nervous the entire time. I’m not saying it’s good or bad, I’m just saying how I feel when I watch the event.

Sevan Matossian (07:49):

Sean Lederman, how dare you sevy fat people change direction with 150 pounds on their back every day. I hear you.

Chase Ingraham (07:56):

I get through one episode where we don’t talk about people’s bodies and weights.

Sevan Matossian (07:59):

No, no, I hear you. But it’s the speed at which that they’re doing it. I did. I want to say this. I really like the rule, the criteria. It looked like the rule was all you had to do was get one foot over the line. I thought that was genius for judging.

Chase Ingraham (08:16):

Touched the line.

Sevan Matossian (08:17):

Just touched the line. Yeah, I loved that. I loved that once I was like, yep, that’s smart. That

John Young (08:22):

Part was great.

Sevan Matossian (08:25):

But let’s go back to Noah and Justin Hillard. Let’s take some hot takes on this. Is Noah better CrossFitter than Justin Maderis?

Andrew Hiller (08:33):

No, he’s

Sevan Matossian (08:34):

Not. No. Okay.

Andrew Hiller (08:36):

He is a better team competitor I would say. I is more experienced. So when you see nuances of the things he’s doing with the bag, the most impressive thing over the course of the entire men’s was Willie George’s ability to just pick the bag right back up the queens. He was cycling that thing crazy and if you looked at his left hand, it really didn’t the whole time and everyone else was doing that grip. So I think Willy was the most impressive.

John Young (09:01):

Willie’s always had that though. If you go back and watch the repeat event, I think 2018 with the pull-ups and the snatches with him burst Fraser, every snatch he did was a muscle snatch. Even the 1 25 snatches. What I’m saying, the speed that he was doing it with, he was just muscle cleaning the sandbag. He’s always done things like that. Every power snatch workout ever. It’s just straight hinge and he’s always been very, very fast to that type of a movement.

Sevan Matossian (09:33):

John Young who’s

Andrew Hiller (09:34):

Take away from that when it comes to Justin Madero is one of the killer instinct things he had at the, I think it was the games doc from 2022. He looked left, he looked right and he gets that. I’m going to pass you no matter what instinct

John Young (09:48):

With the yo

Andrew Hiller (09:49):

Remember that bit. It had to do with something involving Ricky. I believe it

Chase Ingraham (09:52):

Was the axle front rack carry

Andrew Hiller (09:55):

With Ricky, right?

Chase Ingraham (09:56):

Yeah,

Andrew Hiller (09:56):

Yeah, yeah. And this time around Noah Best him. So it’s just kind of feeding into the storyline that is he’s

John Young (10:02):

Losing his,

Andrew Hiller (10:03):

He’s a different Justin.

Sevan Matossian (10:05):

He’s a Labrador. How’s

Andrew Hiller (10:07):

That for a hot take?

Sevan Matossian (10:09):

Sweet chick having

John Young (10:10):

A sweet chick in saying that his own, he’s still a better CrossFitter than

Sevan Matossian (10:12):

Noah Olson. Okay, so that’s your take John. He is better CrossFitter than Noah Olson If we took them both in the backyard right now and made him CrossFit off, you’re telling me Justin,

John Young (10:23):

Total package in the game. Justin is better than

Andrew Hiller (10:25):

Noah Olson and the backyard though. I don’t know.

John Young (10:28):

I don’t like that setting in the games. Chase, he was a wrestler. Justin was a

Chase Ingraham (10:33):

Wrestler. He’s got it

John Young (10:34):

Been there somewhere

Andrew Hiller (10:35):

Many years ago. He is losing it. You

John Young (10:37):

Pin him in a corner in the backyard. Kimbo lifestyle. I feel like it’ll come out.

Chase Ingraham (10:40):

That’s what I think.

Sevan Matossian (10:42):

I think Justin comes out in that than Kimbo Chase, who’s better? We just saw Noah Olson put it to the two time champ, their best CrossFitter, whoever lived.

Chase Ingraham (10:53):

Boy,

John Young (10:57):

No,

Andrew Hiller (10:58):

What you say and I don’t have a quick argument to it, so carry on. Carry on.

Sevan Matossian (11:02):

Chase. We just saw Noah Olson who we know is more of a legend than Chandler Smith or Tola. Just head to head on a 90 inch screen in my living room, put it to the chant.

Chase Ingraham (11:17):

Five reps at a time.

Sevan Matossian (11:19):

Yeah, but three different movements when it’s all in the line. He knew everyone was staring. They knew the pressure was on.

Chase Ingraham (11:25):

Yeah, it is just like 32nd increments at a time,

Sevan Matossian (11:29):

Right? Yep. 30 seconds. That’s all we got. We got a little slice, which

Chase Ingraham (11:32):

Is like to a T of if you are like, Hey, I’m going to give you one athlete for 30 seconds. Who you taking? I’m like, I’m taking Noah. Alright,

Andrew Hiller (11:42):

Alright. What are you taking him in?

Sevan Matossian (11:45):

Anything and everything. Workout

Andrew Hiller (11:47):

Conversation, extracurricular activities.

Sevan Matossian (11:50):

I do want to say this

John Young (11:51):

Too. I was lost

Sevan Matossian (11:52):

To when the workout was over, Noah went over and cheered on the team that was still on the floor and he was the only person who did that. And I know people poo pooh that a lot and we like to take shots at that, but I’d like to take a moment of silence and take my hat off to him because that just kind of shows the era he’s from and he went over and cheered on the last team that was still going and

John Young (12:15):

Noah would do that in every single facet of

Sevan Matossian (12:18):

Every single team. And yesterday he hugged the judge when he crossed the finish line and it’s just who he is. Did you hear

Andrew Hiller (12:24):

Why he did

Sevan Matossian (12:25):

That? What? Pardon me?

Andrew Hiller (12:26):

Did you hear why he did that? Hugged

Sevan Matossian (12:28):

The judge. No, why

Andrew Hiller (12:30):

He did it? Because in that event everyone had to be in one certain spot while doing their double unders. So they were synchro and the other person had to stay behind the line and he was allowed to just walk around the floor. So at the end of the event he goes and he hugs the judge. He had the home field advantage and she was letting him do what he wanted.

Sevan Matossian (12:49):

Now let me tell you, did you make that story up?

Chase Ingraham (12:52):

No.

John Young (12:53):

It’s not as wholesome anymore, is it?

Sevan Matossian (12:54):

Nah. Fuck you guys. Listen to me. I ain’t buying that.

Chase Ingraham (13:00):

I’ll say this for Noah. He gets a lot of flack for being the rah rah guy or his personality on camera or whatever. That is all 100% genuine.

John Young (13:10):

That’s who he is. That’s

Chase Ingraham (13:12):

Who he is. Golden retriever. I love him for it. He has been like that since day one. He has never changed. That is just wholesome. Noah Olson.

Sevan Matossian (13:21):

Hey, have you seen this video of F 45 at the event? This is crazy. This is awesome. Look at these guys. They brought an F 45 team.

Chase Ingraham (13:28):

Oh, how are they doing? Are they in?

Sevan Matossian (13:31):

I think they’re just in, it’s some sort of community workout pull. Can anyone pull that up? Can you see that? Hiller

Chase Ingraham (13:38):

F 45?

Sevan Matossian (13:39):

Oh here. Okay, here it is. Is this, did he hug yet? Did he hug?

Andrew Hiller (13:42):

He’s walking around doing whatever he wants once.

Sevan Matossian (13:45):

Oh, come on. That’s fine.

Andrew Hiller (13:47):

In this video you hear Tommy saying how Justin’s team isn’t allowed to do double unders until he is behind the line, but then here’s his hugging. We all saw the hug, right?

Chase Ingraham (13:59):

Yeah. That’s Noah.

Andrew Hiller (14:02):

Yeah, that’s Noah.

Sevan Matossian (14:03):

Yeah. Maybe

Chase Ingraham (14:04):

That’s like a little gold retriever coming. Give some kisses. That’s

Sevan Matossian (14:07):

Noah. Yeah, Steven Flores. Noah wholesome Olson.

Andrew Hiller (14:12):

I like Noah Olson. I

Sevan Matossian (14:13):

Like him too. I love him.

Chase Ingraham (14:14):

I Olson.

John Young (14:14):

That’s good. I used to think he was so fake and then year after year after year, I’m like, man, that’s just who he is. Say

Sevan Matossian (14:22):

That again. So fake. Did you have a lisp right there? John? Say that again. So fake.

John Young (14:26):

I thought he was fake.

Andrew Hiller (14:27):

John, you’re thinking of Cole Sager.

John Young (14:29):

No, no, no. I know, I know Andrew. I know I did not either one of them and my feelings completely went correctly towards one and switched on the other as the years went by.

Sevan Matossian (14:42):

Bernon. If Noah is such a cool guy, why did he close the arc doors to the third animal of every species? Nice guy. Yeah,

Andrew Hiller (14:49):

I don’t get it.

Chase Ingraham (14:50):

He was

John Young (14:50):

Following directions.

Sevan Matossian (14:51):

Oh man,

Chase Ingraham (14:52):

It been nice to have some dinosaurs

Sevan Matossian (14:54):

Back. Someone explain it to Hiller please,

Andrew Hiller (14:56):

John. I think John, he couldn’t fit in the

Chase Ingraham (14:58):

Ark. Yeah,

Andrew Hiller (14:59):

Like the Arc React Avengers end game or what

Chase Ingraham (15:02):

Exactly.

Andrew Hiller (15:03):

That’s what I thought. Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (15:04):

Is that what his boat, Noah’s Ark? Okay. Yeah. All right. Noah’s Ark the boat. All right,

Chase Ingraham (15:09):

And that’s Iron

Andrew Hiller (15:09):

360.

Chase Ingraham (15:10):

It

Sevan Matossian (15:10):

Wasn’t easy. Hiller, is it easy for you to play this video of the F 45 crowd? It’d be cool. Where’s that? Where’s that? It’s in the locker room thread.

Andrew Hiller (15:18):

Oh yeah, I can get it. Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (15:20):

Yeah, that’s kind of cool. And what’s that? The first shot’s going to be, why does that Air Runner have a piece of pink tape on it? Is that to count revolutions

Chase Ingraham (15:29):

In case it goes down? Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (15:31):

Oh wow. Oh, that would be a shitty job

Chase Ingraham (15:36):

That happened at, when did that happen? I want to say the Northeast Regional in 2000.

Andrew Hiller (15:42):

Is this it?

Sevan Matossian (15:43):

Yeah, that’s it. Look at the F 45 crew and look at the pink piece of pink tape.

Chase Ingraham (15:55):

Put their cell phones outting each other. Mid workout.

Andrew Hiller (16:03):

Interesting.

Sevan Matossian (16:04):

Yeah. Inclusive. Hey, that’s as inclusive as it gets. Letting those got your ding dongs come play. Hey,

Chase Ingraham (16:10):

Prop him for coming out though. Yeah, totally. I give ’em some props for that,

Sevan Matossian (16:14):

Especially since they’re going to get spanked. I was told by a RX athlete immediately after getting off the run course, Hey, this course is dangerous. And the person who told me this is no pussy, and today we find out Logan Ewing’s ankle is broken.

Andrew Hiller (16:34):

What about it?

Sevan Matossian (16:37):

Just talk to me Hillary. That’s just the, Hey man, if you want to compete at the highest level, shit happens. Or should the course not be breaking people’s ankles?

Andrew Hiller (16:49):

I think it’s very interesting that the same event where they’re altering entire events, there’s also a mess. What was it? I think I heard on shut up and scribble this morning that there was 10 separate ankle injuries.

Chase Ingraham (17:02):

Yeah, did spin report that

Andrew Hiller (17:04):

I think he reported on shuttle and scribble. Right? Wow. Yeah, so I think that’s very interesting. They’re changing entire workouts because of some rain, but then there’s also this, now I’m also probably on record somewhere saying that I think Chase and I talked about this, the Wet NorCal classic where they’re running around in the dirt. I love that. I thought that was great, but you also know what you’re getting. It was just kind of a down and rugged bunch of money. The athletes knew what they were competing for, but they also weren’t on other events saying, Hey, it’s a little wet, so we’re going to change the entire thing.

Sevan Matossian (17:41):

The truth is now that the PFAA is there, it’s all on them I think. Would you say that’s fair, John? It absolves Dylan and Loud and live and Guap palooza in my mind

John Young (17:54):

A little bit. I feel like this has been the least safe water palooza. There’s been ironically enough,

Sevan Matossian (18:01):

Right?

John Young (18:03):

But yeah, it does absolve them, especially if they’re partners and if they went by all of the guidelines that PFAA made them go by.

Andrew Hiller (18:12):

Hey, seven, what does this mean?

Sevan Matossian (18:15):

Wet is good for some activities. Wet is good for some activities. Sometimes you water

Andrew Hiller (18:20):

Sports slip,

Sevan Matossian (18:21):

Slide sometimes. Sometimes you need moisture. Some activities should not be done

Chase Ingraham (18:25):

On a slip and slide.

Sevan Matossian (18:27):

Some activities listen is listen. If there’s a dry spot and some activities, you should not do it. You should wait.

Andrew Hiller (18:34):

Hey, when we were in high school, we did an oil slip and slide and then we threw all the tarps into the car afterward and my buddy left it out in a hundred degrees and it smelled like french fries for the rest of our lives.

Sevan Matossian (18:45):

That ruined car, ruined his car.

Andrew Hiller (18:47):

What type of oil did you use? Like vegetables, canola oil from the grocery store.

Sevan Matossian (18:52):

Fergie Show. Please tell John Jung to back off the red light therapy. He looks like a flaming hot Cheeto. It’s

John Young (18:59):

Just a lighting I heard going on right now.

Sevan Matossian (19:04):

What I’m about to show you here is remarkable on so many levels. First of all, what a good guy Wakowski is. Second of all, who knew that morning chocolate was still in existence? I had no idea. Now I’m hearing that they have six people at the event.

Andrew Hiller (19:20):

They got split personalities.

Sevan Matossian (19:21):

I heard they have so many people at the event that they had to buy their own tickets. They couldn’t get enough media credentials, but I mean with six people there, this is probably one of the best clips I’ve seen come out of the event.

Andrew Hiller (19:31):

This is a good clip. This is great.

Sevan Matossian (19:34):

Fki being interviewed by the morning, Chalkup hats often. The morning chalk up for getting this interview. This is fantastic.

Speaker 6 (19:41):

James Frog had my number. He is had my number for seven years apparently that’s what he said. Yeah, that’s what he said. I’ll give you a funny little anecdote. Right before the event, we just finished our briefing, they’re lining us up, we’re ready to go, and he comes up to me. This is a pretty good impression. By the way, if you know James Brent, I’m so excited. I’ve been watching you since 2017. Run, swim, run with my brother. I said one day I’m going to race him and it’s happening today. I’m so excited.

Speaker 7 (20:06):

I watched him do the 2017 Run swim run and I compet my first year as a teenager. I really knew that moment. I was about a minute off of him. I said, Hey, I want to beat this guy one day in a swim workout. Told him before this smart guy said, Hey, I’ve been waiting for this moment for eight

Speaker 6 (20:18):

Years and I said, relax James. This is not the energy I’m bringing to the start of this event, but if that’s the energy you’re bringing to the start of the event, I’m happy for you. Pride, James.

Sevan Matossian (20:34):

Hey, what do you think about that last comment? There we’re live on the air. Chase. Chase we’re live. I

Chase Ingraham (20:42):

Know my son wanted, he needed help to get his Nerf

Sevan Matossian (20:45):

Gun. Oh, okay. I thought you were actually going to shoot someone. Okay, as long as you’re not doing anything violent. Hey, do you think that he told the story kind of fun, but it kind of has a little bit of a weird ending, right? Do you think he

Andrew Hiller (20:57):

The energy thing or what?

Sevan Matossian (20:59):

Yeah, the energy thing. When he is like, okay, if you’re bringing that energy, okay, is that ows?

Andrew Hiller (21:06):

My dick instinct on that was kind of a dickhead thing, but then I thought about it and Kowski probably has a certain zen to him when he goes into events. He’s like, oh, you’re upping at him. That’s your thing. I’m not, I kind of rethought about it. I liked it. There was a great clip

Sevan Matossian (21:21):

Who ended up winning.

John Young (21:24):

The guy who brought the energy Spro.

Sevan Matossian (21:28):

Yeah. Hey, what do you think about that? Hiller? It’s the guy who brought the energy. It was the guy who brought the energy, who won.

Andrew Hiller (21:34):

It just depends. There are different types of people. I don’t know. Have you

John Young (21:38):

Ever watched Pow In the beginning of a sprint though, he’s hilarious. If it’s a sprint by less than three minutes, he’s like, yeah,

Andrew Hiller (21:49):

He’s getting all fired up.

John Young (21:50):

He’ll start yelling and he’s so funny.

Andrew Hiller (21:54):

Hey, today also on shut up and scribble. Colton was on there. He kind of dropped in and he dropped the, I almost ask you Taylor Self to be my coach at one point. I don’t know who heard him say that, but right before that, Taylor was saying the hardest part about being a coach was trying to figure out the nuances of an athlete and the way that you invest and get them all fired up for an event. So Taylor’s well aware of the, and I’m sure everyone here is too, just kind the way an athlete gets ready for an event. So I heard Alki saying that’s just his way on an event that long

John Young (22:26):

And everybody’s a little different with that type of stuff.

Sevan Matossian (22:30):

Oh, ma O’Brien’s in the chat. Oh no, sorry Michael.

Andrew Hiller (22:32):

I read it too, too. I was like, oh, cool.

Sevan Matossian (22:36):

Kelly Baker, Kelsey Keel and the other girl won that last event, team event. They crushed it.

John Young (22:45):

Victoria Compost.

Sevan Matossian (22:48):

No, it wasn’t Victoria. It’s a white girl. Kelsey Keel. Kelly Baker and

Andrew Hiller (22:56):

This is it. There we go. Il Berg.

John Young (22:59):

Emil.

Sevan Matossian (22:59):

Yeah, that’s as wide as they get.

Andrew Hiller (23:02):

I believe she was a games athlete,

Sevan Matossian (23:04):

Right?

John Young (23:06):

I maybe on team

Sevan Matossian (23:08):

Crushed that event. Kelly’s the only one who went has gone individual to the games, right?

John Young (23:15):

Yes. On the

Andrew Hiller (23:16):

Team. On the team. Individual.

John Young (23:18):

Individual.

Sevan Matossian (23:18):

I think last year

John Young (23:19):

She might’ve been in 2019.

Sevan Matossian (23:22):

No. Kelly Baker, I think Kelly Baker. Kelly Baker,

Andrew Hiller (23:25):

Individual

John Young (23:25):

Kelly Baker was last year cut, not cut, burger and a beer

Sevan Matossian (23:33):

And then no one else on that team’s gone individual. Right.

Andrew Hiller (23:37):

I’m looking, she went on a team Il Lunenberg. She finished eighth, 2023.

John Young (23:42):

Kelsey K has been the game on team at the games. Yeah, a whole lot of times.

Sevan Matossian (23:47):

And she’s the one that had the handstand debacle in the stadium last year, right?

Andrew Hiller (23:51):

Correct.

John Young (23:52):

Yes.

Andrew Hiller (23:53):

She made it like 98 feet, three times

Sevan Matossian (23:55):

And Hiller tore her up for something. Instead of her fighting back, she just leaned into it and made fun of herself. That was

Andrew Hiller (24:00):

Pedro.

Sevan Matossian (24:01):

Oh, Pedro made fun of her and she leaned into it.

Andrew Hiller (24:03):

Pedro, yeah.

John Young (24:05):

Qualifier.

Sevan Matossian (24:06):

I like that team. I like all

Chase Ingraham (24:08):

To go Andy this year, right?

John Young (24:10):

Yep.

Sevan Matossian (24:12):

Yeah, I like those girls. I was happy to see them win. That’s really cool. I always like to see Kelly Baker. I feel like it’s been in the game forever.

Andrew Hiller (24:19):

She’s kind of like doing the aerial lowen thing, huh? Yeah, been in the game forever and now she’s kicking butt

Sevan Matossian (24:24):

Like peaking 10 years in.

Andrew Hiller (24:26):

Yeah, it’s like Noah Olson versus Justin Madera, the female version.

Sevan Matossian (24:33):

Who’s Noah going to the games with this year? He is doing team for sure.

Andrew Hiller (24:38):

You start saying he’s one individual,

Chase Ingraham (24:40):

Lena Rector

John Young (24:44):

And then is it not Jesse Smith anymore? Chandler and them had a falling out, right of being on the team,

Sevan Matossian (24:55):

And so she would be the weak link. Jesse Smith would be the weak link. Alina, Richter, Noah, and Tola would be the three powerhouses.

Andrew Hiller (25:04):

Jesse looking crazy.

Sevan Matossian (25:06):

Pardon me?

Andrew Hiller (25:07):

Jesse Smith is looking crazy.

Sevan Matossian (25:09):

Yeah, I mean she looks unstoppable, but I think she’s the least capable of the three, right?

John Young (25:14):

Yes. Yeah, we don’t really know though, because there was a, there’s a weird dynamic for that team and we don’t know the full dynamic. It was going to be Noah and Chandler and I think Lena Richter and Jesse Smith because they’re together.

Andrew Hiller (25:30):

Look at this fricking thing. Who does a workout in this? It looks so warm. This is the warmest looking outfit I’ve ever

Sevan Matossian (25:36):

Seen. Dude, she looks like a superhero. That’s Jesse Smith.

Andrew Hiller (25:39):

Yeah, she looks crazy, right?

Sevan Matossian (25:40):

She’s at the event.

Andrew Hiller (25:42):

Yeah. This is Chandler’s wife.

Sevan Matossian (25:44):

Yeah, she looks unstoppable.

John Young (25:46):

She’s got some legs on

Chase Ingraham (25:48):

Her’s. A superhero. Look. Damn. She

Andrew Hiller (25:49):

Looks crazy. Yeah. This is a great video,

Sevan Matossian (25:52):

By the way, ladies. That is the coolest bathing suit that anyone wore at the event. The

Andrew Hiller (25:57):

Puma?

Sevan Matossian (25:59):

Yeah. Just look at that thing. That is a, you like that? The Puma? I like the Puma

John Young (26:03):

Guys. Is it Gars with Richter? Gars and Richter are their two women, and then it’s going to be Tola and Noah Gars. It was going to be Chandler and Jesse, but then those like that, there was some type of falling out, not falling out, but now they can’t, they’re not doing it.

Sevan Matossian (26:18):

Hey, I want to see how much that bathing suit costs. What would I look up Puma? What would I call that

Andrew Hiller (26:23):

Thing?

John Young (26:23):

That’s going to be a really good team.

Chase Ingraham (26:26):

Look up Puma and see what comes up.

Sevan Matossian (26:29):

Pus, Puma, fight. Ky.

Chase Ingraham (26:33):

Why is your camera off? Bye Hiller.

Sevan Matossian (26:36):

Puma. I wouldn’t even call that a bathing suit. What would you call it? That’s all one piece.

John Young (26:43):

A skin suit, a

Chase Ingraham (26:44):

Racing suit or

Sevan Matossian (26:45):

A, oh yeah, maybe racing suit. A bathing suit put, although

Chase Ingraham (26:49):

You know what that looks like. Really? It looks like a track suit.

Sevan Matossian (26:53):

Oh, and she just swam in it? Yeah.

Chase Ingraham (26:57):

It’s like the old school crossing guys at the games where they didn’t have swimsuits, so they just wore the under shorts that Reebok gave them

Sevan Matossian (27:06):

For the

Chase Ingraham (27:06):

Swimming. I’m like, guys, this is not what these things are made for.

Sevan Matossian (27:11):

Oh, this thing’s less expensive than I thought. So this thing’s called a, oh, it’s just a one piece swimsuit long sleeve. Is this, oh, maybe this is it.

John Young (27:20):

I’m surprised Tier didn’t give them all swimsuits for the swim event.

Sevan Matossian (27:23):

You think this is what she’s wearing? Is that what she’s wearing

Andrew Hiller (27:26):

It? Yeah. Oh, that’s not as expensive at all. Wow.

Sevan Matossian (27:28):

I thought that thing was going to be like two grand

Chase Ingraham (27:31):

That was made byo. Yeah, that would be like a couple hundred dollars for sure.

Sevan Matossian (27:37):

Well, sorry. Sorry. Tier. I shouldn’t be pumping up Puma here, but that’s the outfit. That’s what you want to swim in.

John Young (27:44):

I mean, tier has all the swim equipment you could have. Tier is swimming.

Sevan Matossian (27:49):

Tell me Chase, when you say too hot, what do you mean? You don’t want to be hot? Just drink a cup of water. Don’t you want to stay hot?

Chase Ingraham (27:54):

No, not during an event, especially during a swim. You would only wear that sleeves if it was long distance and it was wetsuit material to help you be more buoyant in the water or the temperature of the water is freezing and it’s freezing outside. There’s no reason to be wearing anything on your arms. It’s restricting. There’s a give and take with a full suit like that. It’s more limiting. Its far range of motion and it

Sevan Matossian (28:19):

Doesn’t, well, fuck Puma then if you’re not wearing a tear suit at the Tier Waterloo games, fuck you. But did she rocked the shit out of that? Who must sponsor her?

Andrew Hiller (28:29):

There you go. Wow,

Chase Ingraham (28:31):

There you go. That’s a wetsuit. Yeah. There we

Andrew Hiller (28:32):

Go. Cheaper too.

Sevan Matossian (28:34):

Anyone swim in a wetsuit?

Chase Ingraham (28:36):

That’d be a horrible idea. That would be a horrible

Andrew Hiller (28:40):

Idea. Not that I saw. Saw. No. Here’s all the tear suits.

Sevan Matossian (28:47):

Did any of you guys, what do you guys think of Jay Crouch in the little snippets we’ve seen of him this weekend? When I saw him running with the sandbag, I took kind of an inventory of all the other people I saw running and I’m like, that’s the best guy at that. That guy is

Andrew Hiller (29:03):

Doing what? The running?

Sevan Matossian (29:04):

Yeah, when I just saw him just now in that last heat running with the bag on his shoulder, I’m like, okay, he’s the fastest guy. He’s the most agile. He’s the most in control. He’s the most composed. He just looked like, oh shit. I mean, I thought it last year. I’ve liked him from the beginning because he’s always put on a good show in Australia. Then he shows up to the big show and you see he’s a little different than the other guys. He’s small. He is actually a small guy. He has a small frame with a lot of muscle on it.

John Young (29:29):

I would say he’s top five in fittest guys on the floor,

Sevan Matossian (29:33):

And now he’s got, I think over a 500 pound deadlift and

John Young (29:37):

That’s not saying much,

Sevan Matossian (29:39):

But for a small guy. For how agile? It doesn’t matter.

Andrew Hiller (29:43):

For 15 the other day. Yourself?

Sevan Matossian (29:46):

What did he do? Hiller?

Andrew Hiller (29:48):

He did 500 for 15.

Sevan Matossian (29:50):

Wow.

John Young (29:51):

Get at me, Chandler.

Sevan Matossian (29:53):

There’s

John Young (29:53):

No video proof, but

Sevan Matossian (29:56):

Of 500 for 15. Is that strong, John? It’s.
