TYR Wodapalooza // DAY 1 RECAP Show

Sevan Matossian (00:00):

It is. Someone’s at your door. Someone’s on the security camera. Are you in danger? Do you need a gun? Bam. We’re live.

Dave Castro (00:05):

No, I got to shut off the, I don’t know where this tab is open.

Sevan Matossian (00:11):

I got a million fucking things going on. Go

Dave Castro (00:13):

Right back. I got to figure this

Sevan Matossian (00:14):

Out. Okay. Yeah, figure it out. End of day one. Three events in the book. Boy, I have seen some outtakes from Colt Mertons being micd up. What a great mini doc we have coming for you with Colt Mertons, and I think we’re going to have something equally is fantastic. Presented by Ca Peptides regarding Down Pepper. Ricky Mack and Jason Hopper. Exciting day one. Kowski and Kowski and Colton were both fun to watch. Roman was fun to watch. Roman did what he needed to do there at the end, huh? Coming in, I mean, not enough probably to make it into the top 10, but it looked like he was truly going to shit the bed and I think he made it to the toilet. Hal been, John is the best CrossFit analyst, the only triple Crown analyst, Seon BFF spin. He won the bet. I dunno what you mean by that, but sure, of course. John is the man. Everyone knows that. Which bet? Who knows Sam Quant? Yes, the Quer won the Samwell quant. It looks like the blonde-haired Superman won that last event. What was that called? Is that Corto?

Dave Castro (01:30):

No, deja

Sevan Matossian (01:31):

Vu. Deja vu. And on the women’s side it was Emma Carey doing Emma Carey stuff. It reminds me of that Roy Jones, I think it’s Roy Jones boxing comment when he said, you must’ve forgot. It is easy to forget, but she is the kind of athlete who can stick it out and put it to the best in the world. And some of these grinds put it to an Emma Lawson or a Laura or Tia. Has Emma ever beat Tia even? Does she have an event win at the games? Emma. Emma? Yeah, Carrie.

Dave Castro (02:06):

Not off the top of my head. She doesn’t.

Sevan Matossian (02:08):

Alright, here is the leaderboard currently sitting in second place, currently sitting in first place. Wow. Look at Gabby.

Dave Castro (02:18):

Want to say Gabby

Sevan Matossian (02:19):

A fourth? A fourth, a fourth. She has three fourths. That’s going to be really tough to be Emma Carey with the 12th a second and a first. Danielle, Brandon with an eighth, a fifth and a fifth. You may be wondering, wait a second, what happened to the lady who was in first place at the last break? Well, the score, Andros score had been put in wrong incorrectly. And so when we saw they had her placed at first place, do you remember that in the Corto? Well, she didn’t take first in that

Dave Castro (02:54):

She Mays right back to shit in the bet on

Sevan Matossian (02:56):

Everything. Yeah, so we saw her looking beat up doing the

John Young (03:02):

Burpees.

Sevan Matossian (03:02):

Burpees there. So she got a 14th. They must’ve put in her time wrong and they had her at a first and now she’s down to a 14th, so she’s in ninth. So Gabby Awa has been in first basically since the second event. So it’s Mag, Emma, Carey, Daniel, Brandon, Rebecca Sison must be happy. Ariel Lowen has a 21st or first and a second now. Wow.

Dave Castro (03:29):

What

Sevan Matossian (03:30):

Sison? No, I’m looking at Ariel Lowen. She got a, I didn’t think she did that great on that last event, but second,

John Young (03:36):

She didn’t do great on the for timeline. She did good in the reps one because she came out real hot and then blew up. So if you scroll over, you’ll see how she did on the,

Sevan Matossian (03:48):

Oh, okay. Oh God. I hate the way this is scored. I really hate the way this is scored.

Dave Castro (03:53):

Yeah, it’s really, really bad. Why do you hate it? Do you hate it for the same reason? Should be

Sevan Matossian (03:58):

Before either put them together. Either put them together or make them each a hundred points. I mean I prefer you make ’em each a hundred points.

Dave Castro (04:05):

Is there a discrepancy like that anywhere else like Ariel or, I don’t know.

John Young (04:10):

Yeah, they’re all over the place.

Sevan Matossian (04:11):

Ariel Lowen has this, so Gabrielle Awa got a seventh on that last piece and Emma Carey look, someone said there was going to be a Jason Kpa moment on the row event. Was that you John?

John Young (04:25):

No, it was

Sevan Matossian (04:26):

Me. Oh, well you’re right. Look at Emma Carey did it at first and a first. Yep. Pretty remarkable man. There are

Dave Castro (04:33):

A handful of people who did decent on the first and then crapped out on the full version

John Young (04:39):

Piece. Did the opposite.

Sevan Matossian (04:43):

How important is the first place finish? Well, I’ll tell you look down at 10th place and you have Juliana Hannaford. She has a first, a 13th, a 37th and a 35th. I mean that’s about as bad as you can get and she’s still in 10th place. And you know what’s crazy? It’s so cliche, but look, the strong girl has no engine.

John Young (05:06):

Yeah. Cliche. That’s what happens when you’re really strong.

Sevan Matossian (05:14):

Are we surprised to see Sison and Abigail Dome up here? Fufu Sidney Wells?

Dave Castro (05:21):

I want to say I had ’em pegged both in the top 10, but this high, I didn’t think

John Young (05:25):

So. I didn’t have Sison and Dome this high I thought could, but Vison is having the competition of a lot.

Sevan Matossian (05:35):

Vison and Abigail Dome did not have an event handed to them and I think it’s safe to say that Danny Spiegel had an event handed to her and they are in fourth and sixth with the veteran Danny Spiegel who has more important things to do than CrossFit and I’m not saying that tongue in cheek. I mean those are, I think her words sitting in 13th Fifi 14th. Interesting. Two kind of polar opposite athletes in 13th and 14th with Danny and Fi cruising down, Emily Rolf looks like she’s climbed a little bit. I think she was in 21st. The rest of the pack is settling in nicely. I don’t see anyone at the bottom. That’s a surprise. The 17-year-old out of

Dave Castro (06:19):

Walton, people thought Walton would be higher.

Sevan Matossian (06:22):

Oh no. No one What the brain did. Listen,

John Young (06:25):

Hold on.

Sevan Matossian (06:26):

She’s hot and that’s it. Come on.

John Young (06:29):

She’s likely to be top three in the swim and that prop. Yeah, that’s going to propel them both really high. The Swim, for instance, Gabby Mcow is in first place. Danielle, Brandon and Emma Carey. It’s going to be them two, one and two very close after the swim and Gabby Mcow won’t be close to ’em.

Sevan Matossian (06:48):

Then where were we? The Icelandic 17-year-old who took third of the CrossFit games last year in the teen division sitting in 25th place. I would say her name. Berg Burger. The burger, the Do burger the Dojo. Ella Miller.

Dave Castro (07:09):

Aaliyah.

Sevan Matossian (07:09):

Aaliyah Miller. She’s the one that ate a pizza apparently

Dave Castro (07:13):

That was on Christmas and not yesterday

Sevan Matossian (07:16):

And then down at the bottom, Matilda Garns has pulled out,

Dave Castro (07:22):

But we’ll be competing team, right?

Sevan Matossian (07:25):

That’s the question, right? Let me see what the newest information from Barbell Spin is.

(07:38):

I don’t see anything new, but I think that was her hope that she’s sick now with a triple case of Covid, but she’s hoping she’ll be better so that she can do team. I don’t know if she really has Covid. I made that up. She pulled out. No, actually now it says she’s pulled out because she’s injured. I don’t know. We’ll see. But we did I think get that same information that she was hoping that she would still be able to do team pouring rain out there. I saw, I saw a couple coaches trip specifically. We saw one coach drop and take the national anthem knee.

Dave Castro (08:18):

You mean a judge? Not

Sevan Matossian (08:20):

Coach. Judge. What’d I say?

Dave Castro (08:21):

You said coach.

Sevan Matossian (08:22):

Coach. Sorry, coach. Ref, coach, judge, judge. Thank you John. Young. John doesn’t hit the sauce. John doesn’t even, what does that mean? The

John Young (08:32):

Steroids

Sevan Matossian (08:34):

Straight from the Caleb cam. Oh,

Dave Castro (08:35):

You’re drinking alcohol dude, come on.

John Young (08:38):

Oh, I don’t drink alcohol.

Dave Castro (08:39):

What’s in that cup?

Sevan Matossian (08:41):

I know that O

John Young (08:42):

Tea.

Sevan Matossian (08:43):

Oh shit, I forgot my coffee. That’s what he said.

John Young (08:47):

It’s O team.

Dave Castro (08:48):

You’re projecting your steroid use when you say stuff.

Sevan Matossian (08:55):

Okay, action. Let’s see this.

Dave Castro (09:00):

See ya.

John Young (09:03):

Oh, poor guy. That’s a torn ACL.

Dave Castro (09:06):

Yeah, it is all this safety for the athletes and none for the people that are working for free.

Sevan Matossian (09:11):

Exactly what I was thinking. What’s crazy. He almost took out the athlete

John Young (09:15):

Dude. If he would’ve tore his ACL L and was legitimately out and dying,

Dave Castro (09:22):

That would’ve been the worst. Worst thing that happened since they lost someone in the ocean.

Sevan Matossian (09:27):

I do want to say this. That is extremely agile and quick thinking. He didn’t think about himself at all. He quickly just spun around and started counting

John Young (09:34):

One,

Dave Castro (09:35):

Two. That’s great.

Sevan Matossian (09:37):

Yeah.

Dave Castro (09:39):

Hey, they don’t take this stuff lightly, man.

Sevan Matossian (09:41):

I did see another ref trip, judge trip over that same box. He tried to jump over it and got clipped. It was extremely wet out there. It did not seem to bother the athletes. I’m going to actually take a stab at this and say that probably most athletes enjoyed the rain. It is Miami, it’s not Chicago Rain. A couple things that we didn’t tell you before, I don’t think we did or we didn’t know for sure, but the dumbbell weights had been lowered not only for the women but also for the men. That was pretty bad.

John Young (10:17):

I think that made a huge difference.

Sevan Matossian (10:19):

I thought that was pretty bad. And we talked about the score that changed. Andro score was in wrong. Corona is out with a re-injured P tear. Okay.

Dave Castro (10:33):

Wicked didn’t get that stuff taken care of or he rushed it, which makes stuff that Ricky’s doing even more impressive. Right.

John Young (10:41):

Dude, Ricky Ricky’s going to win, man.

Dave Castro (10:44):

That’s what you think.

John Young (10:49):

Swim tomorrow.

Sevan Matossian (10:50):

Caleb, can we see the boys’ leaderboard? James Sprague was talking to his judge quite a bit at the box jump. I’ve sent James a link. Hopefully he will come on and say hi.

Dave Castro (11:02):

Who was talking to their judge Moore? James on the box or Danny at the Pullup bar?

Sevan Matossian (11:06):

I don’t know, but I heard also Danielle, Brandon was having some words with her judge too. So we shall

John Young (11:10):

Danny on the wall balls.

Dave Castro (11:13):

Both of them

Sevan Matossian (11:14):

We shall on the wall ball. Do you? Go ahead, Caleb. It hasn’t populated yet. Oh, the boys. Okay.

Dave Castro (11:23):

Nicole was supposed to win. What happened?

John Young (11:25):

I know he blew up man. He told us he was going to

Dave Castro (11:29):

Still good.

Sevan Matossian (11:30):

Do you feel pretty confident that the fight that Danielle was having with her judge was around the depth

Dave Castro (11:35):

Of her wallows? And when you say Danielle, you mean Brandon Not

Sevan Matossian (11:38):

Spiegel. No, no, sorry. Danny Spiegel definitely.

Dave Castro (11:41):

Definitely

Sevan Matossian (11:42):

100%. A hundred percent. Yeah. Interesting.

Dave Castro (11:46):

There’s not many things I’m more certain on.

Sevan Matossian (11:50):

Is it worth talking about the kipping and the pull-ups? I mean there was just tons KIPP everywhere. Colton had a fantastic gymnastics kept going.

Dave Castro (11:57):

I would say it’s not as bad as it could have been. I would say across the board many more people were taking it upon themselves to make their pull-ups look better than some people were getting away with. That said, I put up that video of the chick. That was one of the worst. And it’s not her fault, it’s the competition’s fault for enforcing a standard where you can get away with murder.

Sevan Matossian (12:18):

I think Ricky has to too.

Dave Castro (12:21):

Sorry,

John Young (12:22):

You’re talking about that one where Chin’s right here.

Dave Castro (12:24):

I mean one, there’s that, but that’s kind standard amongst pull-ups and CrossFit anyway, which is just break the horizontal plane, which I believe she was doing but barely. But it’s the fact that all you had to do was keep the toes in front of the bar.

John Young (12:37):

She got a mini shoulder kit.

Dave Castro (12:39):

Yeah, that’s a straight up Kipping pull up.

Sevan Matossian (12:44):

Yeah,

Dave Castro (12:46):

Straight up Kipping pull up.

John Young (12:48):

I’ll say though, it did feel like, it felt like it was fair. Ironically, I didn’t feel like anybody was getting away with anything. There wasn’t. Does that make sense? Hey,

Sevan Matossian (13:00):

So this is

John Young (13:01):

What we need. No, but I’m saying everybody was doing it a little bit.

Dave Castro (13:04):

That’s right.

Sevan Matossian (13:05):

Well no, no, but here’s the thing. I don’t think everyone was doing it, but I think what I’m hearing John say is they were consistent in not calling that. But what we really need to know is we need to know about the brief. We need to talk to someone who is in that athlete briefing.

John Young (13:19):

That’s a better way to word it. I didn’t feel like anybody got screwed where they’re even no rep and having to hold district standard.

Dave Castro (13:25):

They actually ended up being kind of a non-issue.

John Young (13:28):

Yeah, exactly. We never even heard about it.

Sevan Matossian (13:30):

Well easy for you to say, but what about Sikowski could have used a little KIPP

Dave Castro (13:36):

Bar. He could have used 35 kipping just to bar. That’s what he could have used.

John Young (13:40):

He would’ve been screwed on that too, man.

Sevan Matossian (13:42):

Alright, maybe

Dave Castro (13:44):

I get chased back in here.

Sevan Matossian (13:46):

Overall we’re cool with it.

Dave Castro (13:49):

I want to bring up that conversation. John I had earlier where he said he was going to go bigger sets than 8, 7, 5 the whole time. When everyone else is doing sets at two and four,

John Young (13:58):

Do you think the road just had this enormous effect?

Dave Castro (14:02):

It’s 60 pull-ups, dude. Dude,

John Young (14:06):

I feel like I 60. It’s

Dave Castro (14:07):

Not three sets of 20. It’s 60 for time and when you do 60 for time, if you could hang on to sets at eight, that’s great. Dr. Seuss over here do eight. That’s great.

John Young (14:20):

I mean maybe the other workouts had a bearing on it. I just, I don’t know. That’s the

Dave Castro (14:25):

Good part about it. Jack Mosley. That wakowski the PFAA programmed it or altered it. But didn’t someone say John, wasn’t it you that said they changed it? It wasn’t PFA, it was Waterloo. It was

John Young (14:36):

Caleb. Caleb said it was not the PFAA that changed the workouts. It was Waza. Yes, Caleb,

Sevan Matossian (14:48):

Listen. Listen John, you’re just supposed to say we have sources. You don’t out Caleb, you just say we have sources. It

John Young (14:54):

Was my source, but I wouldn’t have out my source.

Sevan Matossian (14:57):

Right, right, right.

Dave Castro (14:58):

It was Dylan Low.

Sevan Matossian (14:59):

We have sources that say that. It wasn’t the PFAA, but it was actually Waap Palooza making the choice.

John Young (15:06):

Dylan

Sevan Matossian (15:08):

How? And Kowski was slowest in the 90 chest bar. Pull-ups. I timed as well. He’s slow moving that big body. What’s it? He did make up time though. He did make up time.

Dave Castro (15:17):

What 90 chest bar

Sevan Matossian (15:18):

Must be.

John Young (15:20):

He’s talking about the games back in 2022

Dave Castro (15:23):

Where

John Young (15:24):

They did the sets of 15. The last event. The one Darryl’s one, right.

Dave Castro (15:30):

I was thinking Triple G chipper.

John Young (15:32):

That’s a hundred pull-ups. Just straightforward.

Sevan Matossian (15:35):

The second you see the men’s leaderboard up, will you pull that up? I’m also going to see if I can get Brian’s spin in here to tell us how things are going on at the ground level. It was extremely wet and I’m curious if that’s going to affect tomorrow. Have we had any confirmation that workouts are going to be changed tomorrow and would they go in the water if it’s raining or would there be lightning concerns?

Dave Castro (16:00):

There would be losing athletes in the splashing. Water of rain concerns. I’m sure splashes when the rain hits if it’s heavy. Oh, stop.

John Young (16:09):

Oh,

Dave Castro (16:09):

Stop. I swear to God it’s a real thing. I was on swim team. Dude, they cancel stuff because of that. And that’s a swimming pool.

Sevan Matossian (16:16):

Really?

Dave Castro (16:17):

Yeah, if it’s heavy rain, they cancel it no matter whether or not there’s thunder because they can’t see the bigger

John Young (16:21):

Risk of bigger risk of ground pool.

Sevan Matossian (16:25):

Brian spin from the barbell spin last year he got that amazing, or maybe it was two years ago, the amazing snatch from gal this year. He got an amazing picture of himself. This guy right here. This is Jack Roseman. You know who he kind of looks like is the guy who is in every second counts? Dutch.

John Young (16:45):

Dutch Lowry.

Sevan Matossian (16:46):

Dutch Lowry.

Dave Castro (16:48):

I was going to say Ed or Tom Hardy.

John Young (16:51):

I could see that too.

Sevan Matossian (16:56):

There’s Julia Hannaford also at the Barbell Spin. She was in first place for a second. Danielle, Brandon, I

Dave Castro (17:06):

Ever wonder if apparel, some of these people choose to wear hinders improves their performance at those soccer jerseys. It seems ridiculous to me to wear a soccer jersey when you’re doing stuff.

Sevan Matossian (17:19):

Hey,

Dave Castro (17:20):

Not cool Chandler Smith. It’s uncomfortable and heavy.

John Young (17:24):

Craig Richie.

Dave Castro (17:26):

Well, he doesn’t really work out.

Sevan Matossian (17:32):

Hey Danielle. Brandon’s not really getting a lot of camera time from the crew, huh?

John Young (17:39):

No, not really. I haven’t heard her name get called a ton. And what’s funny is I, she’s going to be second or third after the swim. I mean she’s third place now. Overall.

Dave Castro (17:50):

She’s second, I’d think.

Sevan Matossian (17:52):

How close is the scoring? Can we look to see how close the totals are?

John Young (17:55):

It’s Gabby then Emma. Then Danielle.

Sevan Matossian (17:58):

Thank you. Yep, thank you. Two 20.

Dave Castro (18:06):

Oh wait, they’re changing stuff.

Sevan Matossian (18:08):

2 23. Oh,

John Young (18:11):

Dejavu

Dave Castro (18:11):

Is all messed up.

Sevan Matossian (18:14):

Well that’s interesting. Earlier when we started the show, we had the first half of Deja vu, the first 50 points mapped out and now it appears that on the, what’s this leaderboard called?

Dave Castro (18:27):

Competition Corner.

Sevan Matossian (18:28):

Competition Corner Leaderboard. They have removed the first half of the deja vu points.

John Young (18:36):

I don’t think Daniel, did Daniel Brandon get second place?

Dave Castro (18:42):

I thought it was.

Sevan Matossian (18:44):

Here’s what’s weird. Those are still all the points from the day though, aren’t they?

John Young (18:48):

No. One of the scores in Deja vu is not put in

Dave Castro (18:52):

90.

John Young (18:53):

The one with the max reps.

Dave Castro (18:54):

No, it’s not Lon.

Sevan Matossian (18:56):

Hey, when we looked at it last time, Emma was in second, right? And Danielle was in third and now Danielle with Deja vu taken out the first half of it. Danielle’s in second.

Dave Castro (19:05):

We know Dome was higher, right?

Sevan Matossian (19:08):

Yep.

John Young (19:09):

Dome was.

Dave Castro (19:10):

She wasn’t intense. She was way up there.

Sevan Matossian (19:13):

Alright,

John Young (19:14):

Let’s,

Dave Castro (19:15):

The ones that I was way off about were Fu and Elena ua. I thought they’d do better than they did.

John Young (19:22):

I thought B would do better, which I mean she wasn’t. Yeah, I thought V would do better when she didn’t.

Dave Castro (19:28):

I was really trying to remember who I thought would do well so that I could call myself out when they inevitably didn’t,

Sevan Matossian (19:33):

Hey, but I think Sly is climbing the ranks. I still think she’s climbing. I think she was out of the top 10.

Dave Castro (19:38):

Yeah, it’s cool. She’s doing great.

Sevan Matossian (19:41):

Oh, nevermind. Sorry. John. George says Rebecca was seventh. I wonder if he means before the event or before they started messing with the Deja vu score.

Dave Castro (19:50):

Hey, the worst thing about the dumbbell, by the way, with the rain, other than the weight change was that they had to do singles.

John Young (19:56):

Yeah,

Dave Castro (19:57):

I understand that one more than just about anything else with the water, but still

Sevan Matossian (20:02):

What do you mean? They had to do singles alternating.

Dave Castro (20:05):

They had put a dumbbell on the ground every single time. Oh, because heavy one, maybe you think they’re doing it on purpose, but with that lighter dumbbell, none of ’em were doing that on accident. They were forced to put it down every time

John Young (20:16):

And they were all muscle snatching it too. Like straight hinge the whole entire time. But it takes away your ability to, because if somebody could cycle the whole thing unbroken, they would make a whole lot of time up on those snatches and nobody got to show that off.

Dave Castro (20:35):

Send you Hua. Barely

John Young (20:36):

Know. Although I think Hatfield is grateful for that because Corn Way I think would’ve gotten him had he not done that or did not had to do that.

Sevan Matossian (20:46):

So you can see the men’s scores going in one at a time.

Dave Castro (20:51):

That’s what she said.

Sevan Matossian (20:57):

That is what she

John Young (20:58):

Said. Wouldn’t it be like three at a time though?

Sevan Matossian (21:01):

I can just see. I went over to the men’s leaderboard and it’s almost full. All right. 300 points down, 200 points to go. What two workouts do we have left tomorrow?

John Young (21:14):

The swim and the rope climb tow bar workout that Taylor did.

Sevan Matossian (21:18):

Okay. And the swim is with double unders.

Dave Castro (21:23):

Swim is with double unders. Beaded.

John Young (21:25):

Yep. 150 Beed, double unders. And then there’s a 50 cow bike in the beginning, swim, double under swim, and then 500 meters run.

Dave Castro (21:36):

And they’re doing on that ratchet stage in the middle of the ocean.

Sevan Matossian (21:42):

You don’t like that?

Dave Castro (21:45):

I don’t know. We’ll see.

Sevan Matossian (21:47):

Isn’t ratchet like a derogatory term?

Dave Castro (21:50):

Yeah, janky. You like janky better than

Sevan Matossian (21:53):

Ratchet? No. No. I thought it was kind of cool, but we’ll see. We’ll see. I think it’s cool. Oh, it’s

Dave Castro (21:57):

Interesting. You know what I think they did it for is to provide more seats over on the bay front, which would be cool. That’s good. I like that because usually you can’t find spots out there with the dam.

Sevan Matossian (22:08):

And then tell me about, what was the rope climb workout again? It was,

John Young (22:14):

What is it? It’s three. You do a lunge, one front rack, one overhead.

Sevan Matossian (22:19):

Oh right.

John Young (22:20):

And then three rounds, three rope climbs. I think the women have two rope climbs. The first one has to start as seated and then 18 toes to bar and 90 foot handstand walk. And then it ends on the lunge on the other side, the overhead front rack.

Sevan Matossian (22:38):

Hey, that’s another great one for Colton

Dave Castro (22:42):

Not, it’s probably about as good for him as this last one was.

Sevan Matossian (22:46):

Hey, he’s great walking on his. He’s amazing walking on his hands and he’s amazing at a handstand walk

John Young (22:52):

That started the leg list though. People are going to get him on the rope. Climbs and Yeah, I agree with Hiller. I don’t think it’ll be good for him, but I don’t think it’ll be bad for him either. He’ll be the

Dave Castro (23:03):

10th.

Sevan Matossian (23:04):

Hey, he’s as fast as anyone on three of the four. He just is the slowest on the fourth. Right on the rope climb. But he’s as fast as anyone. Right?

Dave Castro (23:13):

I think unfortunately for him, his height will make a difference.

John Young (23:17):

Yeah.

Dave Castro (23:18):

So while he is good at it, he’s got to take extra steps, which is fine, but the handstand walk, he’s not going to be going faster than a couple of guys.

John Young (23:29):

Ricky,

Dave Castro (23:31):

The rope climb, he is not as good at in general. Towed bar. He is great at. So I’d say overall he’ll do fine.

Sevan Matossian (23:38):

Janelle Winston, why are you even planning? They’re going to change the workout. Great. They are going to have to change the workout, aren’t they? Because of the rope climb.

John Young (23:47):

Is this tomorrow? No, it’s sunny and just partly cloudy.

Sevan Matossian (23:53):

Gabriela Mag. 270 points, six points behind her. Emma Carey. Boy, we have a race. Danielle Brandon, 2 59. Anyone can win at the top three in the mix. Rebecca Sison, 2 37. Ariel Lowen two 20. I can’t, that’s remarkable. Vison must be ecstatic. Abigail Dome in six Fu in seventh Fu. Yeah, man.

Dave Castro (24:17):

Few, I swear to God

Sevan Matossian (24:19):

Fu Sidney Wells in one 90. About a hundred points out of first Jessica, and then it really just starts dropping off. Alright. It looks like Spiegel is toast, but it looks like tomorrow we will have a and ETT toast. So we will have a showdown tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be a battle with the girls. We will be doing a pre-show. Two pre-show. You do not want to miss the pre-show. Pre-show. Pre-show with Will and Jr. And Taylor. They were killing it today until they had some technical problems over on the boys side.

Dave Castro (24:59):

If Spiegel does as well in the snatches she did in the other three events, she’s in third or 34th place.

John Young (25:09):

What about, gee,

Dave Castro (25:11):

I haven’t checked that out yet. You can’t check. The scores aren’t updated

Sevan Matossian (25:14):

Yet. All of Gee scores are in though

Caleb Beaver (25:16):

Men’s isn’t totally updated. I think they’re

Dave Castro (25:18):

Up to same thing about

Sevan Matossian (25:22):

Nothing for Roman. Damn. I want them to hurry up and finish these

Dave Castro (25:26):

Five 40. Actually exactly the same because they both have 50, 51 points through those three events and then actually he’s higher because you got a hundred on the snatch. You got 94, which is when Chase and Bill start freaking out on Get with the program about a lifting event in a five scored workout competition. It gives ’em a lot of credit on that stuff. Accurate. Hey,

Sevan Matossian (25:50):

Either way we know the men’s competition is going to be very close because Brent Falkowski is probably going to drop out of first, correct?

Dave Castro (25:58):

Not the Swim necessarily.

Sevan Matossian (26:00):

No. I mean after today, I mean after today

John Young (26:02):

After.

Sevan Matossian (26:04):

So the men’s competition is going to be really close. I didn’t see where Jack Rima did. We know Vellner probably did good. Ricky did good.

John Young (26:11):

Dude. I think Vellner is going to be in first place because Ricky faded on the second one. And I think Ricky might’ve won the first one, but he faded hard on the second one. And Ner was third or fourth in the first one. And third or fourth In the second one.

Sevan Matossian (26:29):

Sprague beat Brent.

John Young (26:33):

He went out hard and he just blew up.

Sevan Matossian (26:36):

Yeah, in the eight minute one, Sprague was in. He’s walking around, cruising around.

Dave Castro (26:43):

Sam Quant the weirdest dude in all CrossFit.

Sevan Matossian (26:46):

No, he’s Canadian.

John Young (26:49):

I don’t think he’s weird Canadian.

Dave Castro (26:51):

He’s not Canadian.

John Young (26:52):

He’s not Canadian.

Sevan Matossian (26:53):

Yeah, he’s Canadian. No, he’s not. Oh. Oh, I thought you Sorry. I was confused with Sam. Sam Horn White. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Quant just came young.

Tyler Watkins (27:02):

He really well

Sevan Matossian (27:02):

Young. He’s still coming into his own. He’s just

John Young (27:05):

Very quiet.

Dave Castro (27:07):

He’s very weird.

Sevan Matossian (27:08):

He’s blonde-haired, Superman, blonde haired, Superman.

John Young (27:10):

What’s weird about him?

Dave Castro (27:12):

He either does incredibly well and dominates or doesn’t do anything. There’s trash. Yeah, yeah,

John Young (27:17):

Yeah. There’s a lot of people. There’s a couple people like that.

Dave Castro (27:20):

He’s like, gee, but fit.

John Young (27:23):

Oh, don’t insult him like that.

Sevan Matossian (27:25):

Tyler Watkins.

Tyler Watkins (27:28):

How’s it going gentlemen? I heard

Sevan Matossian (27:29):

Rumors that the Heat one app has been overwhelmed and crashed. Is that true?

Tyler Watkins (27:34):

It got close once, but

Sevan Matossian (27:36):

Oh, but didn’t happen. It’s got stuttery. Just rumors. Just rumors. Rumors. Hey, congratulations. I hear it’s killing it. I’m stoked for you, buddy.

Tyler Watkins (27:45):

How’s it been so far from your all’s perspective?

Sevan Matossian (27:48):

Great. Great. People are pumped on it.

Tyler Watkins (27:51):

We had some graphics on the live stream. I was happy with that. I have

Dave Castro (27:55):

It. It was cool.

John Young (27:57):

Yeah, looked. It was awesome.

Tyler Watkins (27:59):

Good.

Sevan Matossian (28:00):

Hey, where are you? You’re bringing in this effect. You’re at the airport and you’re into the air tower control.

Tyler Watkins (28:06):

I’m in that stage in the back. Hillary, you know where I’m at?

Dave Castro (28:11):

I do. Yeah.

Tyler Watkins (28:12):

This is where they demo. They’ve demoed in the past. So yeah, the media pit’s a little bit away from here. So there was some light over here, so I came over here.

Sevan Matossian (28:23):

Vittorio se doesn’t know well. That’s correct. Oh, there’s a great echo. Hey, is that thunder right here? Did you see any thunder or lightning today?

Tyler Watkins (28:32):

No. It was basically just rain and drizzle the whole time. I think they would’ve stopped had there been any thunder. But yeah, I mean the rain got heavy.

Sevan Matossian (28:44):

What’s the weather report tomorrow? Any chance? Any talk about the swim event or the rope event being changed?

Tyler Watkins (28:51):

From what I heard, the weather supposed to be much better tomorrow. Pretty sunny. I have not heard any talks change for tomorrow.

Sevan Matossian (29:00):

And is the place cleared out right now? I don’t see anyone besides you is pretty much everyone left the venue.

Tyler Watkins (29:04):

Well, I’m sort of back in a back area

Dave Castro (29:09):

That’s a foot area.

Tyler Watkins (29:10):

So up here

Dave Castro (29:12):

The warmup area

Tyler Watkins (29:13):

Up here is the warmup area. Yeah, there’s a bunch of bars and stuff up there. So none of the athletes would be up there right now anyway. They’re all gone home. I just got done seeing Pamper and Popper.

Sevan Matossian (29:27):

Anything about Matilda? Is she out? Oh, oops, sorry.

Tyler Watkins (29:31):

Yeah, I’ve been told Matilda’s out that she hopes to compete on the team, but she’s out for individuals.

Sevan Matossian (29:39):

Okay. And so it’s not an, it is a sickness. That’s what Hiller was hearing.

Tyler Watkins (29:43):

I’m not sure as to the reason.

Sevan Matossian (29:46):

And Caron, did you see him? Was his serious enough? Did you see medics on him?

Tyler Watkins (29:52):

Peck? I heard it’s a Peck issue. I’m not certain about how serious it was, but I mean serious enough to pull out. I’m not surprised with the amount of.
