Sevan Matossian (00:01):
Bam, we’re live. How many days in a row can I do this? Holy cow. Crazy show tonight. I didn’t think I was going to have anything to report. And then of course, just do a little scratch and a little digging. Just be yourself and shit will show up onto the scene. First off, just some quick business to take care of the extra virgin olive oil at TDC Mercantile, T-D-C-M-E-R-C-A-N-T-I-L e.com. I dunno how long these cans are going to be in stock, but Dave’s olive oil is back in the house available for purchase. Last time they did not last long, so you better stop fooling around. This Instagram account has, I started following, it’s been popping up on my feed quite a bit before I started following it and I started following, it’s called Seth Jump Ship Training. And today it looks like he does a podcast or something. And I saw this post of his and I just thought it was cool because it goes back to, and he talks about the main site video and this is the video, nasty Girls that got me started. Here we go. Here’s Seth himself,
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Crappy old main site. And you could find this wave file of Nasty Girls. And this along with, I don’t know, 25 other original videos out of the original HQ were like just essentially the demos that people would try to figure out what a pace of a workout look like, what the intensity should look like. Because when you’re just reading the old workouts
Sevan Matossian (01:48):
Off
Speaker 2 (01:49):
The website
Sevan Matossian (01:49):
Better, it’s interesting to hear him talk about this. And he called it the crappy old website. The website was amazing, very easy to use, easy to navigate. But I like what this guy’s doing. I’ve been liking all of his posts. And this goes back, he’s pointing at the old days where we watched Nicole Carroll, Annie Sakamoto and Eva t do a workout. And then we had to basically figure it out. We had to go online, we had to dig through the website, we had to figure out what ring muscle ups were, what air squats are, what I think it was hand cleans. And you had to learn all that shit on your own. And it made the journey of becoming a CrossFitter a wonderful experience. And I like it that he’s taken us back to those roots. To those roots. In other news, Athena Perez from Scaled Nation, a big name in the CrossFit community. She is on a mission to lose a hundred pounds using Andrew Hiller as a personal coach. She celebrates today at 30 days. The first 30 days she’s lost 25 pounds. So congratulations to Athena and congratulations to Hiller. It’s pretty cool. It’s an unlikely pair, which makes the journey even more fun. Our friend of the podcast, hunter McIntyre, I saw him doing a box jump and the kind of box jump he’s doing here is the kind where you, all
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Right guys, we’re just going to do some jumps.
Sevan Matossian (03:23):
We’re going to try. You jump straight leg and it gives you kind of the effect that you’re floating. Have you guys seen people do that? It makes it look like your vertical’s insane. So here he goes. Hunter’s going to do the jump. I keep it
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Pretty vertical, not bend
Sevan Matossian (03:35):
The knees. Notice he has the box against the wall. He’s saying, you don’t bend your knees.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
That was my hand going through the
Sevan Matossian (03:47):
Wall. And he wipes out and his hand goes through the wall. Fuck,
(03:51):
He says, an expletive. And he shows us the hole, the wall. That’s what happens when an agile athlete jumps, has the box appropriately placed and it’s a 24 inch box and he shows you something. He’s tough enough and strong enough, he puts a hole in the wall. Well, what’s interesting is also in my feed, basically just right after that, popped up this clip and I had to rip it and put it onto a separate account. But here you go. A box jumps are no joke, man. Look at this lady. This lady jumps on a box. She doesn’t have the proper agility, skill balance to navigate this movement and it leads to injury. So two failed box jumps with different outcomes. The good news is this video continues if you find her account and she shows her recovery from that serious injury. Righty Officially, I’d like to say Jason Kpa is officially old.
(05:01):
Jason Kpa. Here he is working out with pants on Now. That’s the kind of thing old dudes do. That’s the kind of stuff that us old guys do. We just work out in pants. And I saw he’s got a couple other videos where he works out in pants now and I’m sure he is going to defend himself and be like, oh, these are special workout, blah blah. Listen, you’re old. Look at the shoes you’re working out in. Look at. You’re just old and that’s okay. You, you’re still fit and you’re brown belt and you’re an inspiration, but you’re old is dirt. Okay, Laura, I think this is an Rx Smart Gear’s Instagram account. She has a jump rope.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah, you take good care for sure.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
I had it since 2000. I think 16.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Go 17 is when they came out. So
Sevan Matossian (05:52):
She’s had a jump rope since 2017 and she’s talking to Dave, I think it’s Dave Newman from RX Market. You
Speaker 5 (05:58):
Had the original case, right? Yeah, I everything original. That’s why I know an OG person that has the round. Yeah, I still have the round case. I actually like that better than the other one. It fits in perfectly. And this one you have
Sevan Matossian (06:11):
To, but what’s crazy is I didn’t even know Laurel Horvat could talk or communicate. I thought she was like, I just didn’t know. I didn’t know she had the skill. So a multi inspirational video, RX Smart gear, having ropes that last what appears to be forever, since 2017 for a rope that’s used by a champ like Laurel Horvat. It’s been put through the ringer, but the fact that Laura can actually speak and articulate herself is fascinating to me. So kudos to her for keeping that under wraps for so long. And then a show wouldn’t be
Speaker 6 (06:48):
To glorify God more than anything. But I really didn’t
Sevan Matossian (06:51):
A show without some God talk.
Speaker 6 (06:54):
I was still holding so tightly to winning, still didn’t have that faith in his plan and I couldn’t let go of that. So I ended up winning and it wasn’t as joyful as I thought it would be. It was more like relief. I wanted to want to glorify God more than anything, but I really didn’t.
Sevan Matossian (07:17):
So she won, but she didn’t glorify God. So it wasn’t fulfilling. But I don’t know if I should tell her. She said it was a relief. There’s never there there with a victory ever. It’s all journey every time you get to the destination, it’s a letdown. Every time. Every time. So I don’t know if that had to do with God, but anyway, even with God on her side and winning, she still wasn’t happy. So that’s going to be a tough road for Ms. Carri. Okay, here we go. Is this hard? This chick won the Rogue Challenge. I don’t know what her name is. Jaws, J-O-W-Z-I-N-H-A. She holds a 35 pound dumbbell straight out. I need to try that. Some sort of rogue challenge. She held it for a minute and she won something. So there’s that rogue, rogue doing. Its part to inspire people to move, give away free shit. Pretty cool. And then what we’ve all been waiting for. Breaks my heart guys. Breaks my heart. Breaks my heart. Daniel. Brandon posted on her story. Let’s see what she posted. And
Speaker 7 (08:38):
It’s no surprise to me that the clowns over at Rad Shoes are those whiny bitches. Their shoes look like knockoffs from 1980s. Reebok Jazzercize. Shit. I know a lot of you like them. I guess they mislead by saying shit. They’re collaborating with Danny.
Sevan Matossian (08:59):
Oh,
Speaker 7 (09:00):
Beagle, when clearly they’re not collaborating. They’re paying her money to pedal shoes. But he writes, this guy writes, I think this is the founder and CEO who I’ve heard nothing but good things about, but it sounds like a whiny little bitch here. He writes, I was,
Sevan Matossian (09:16):
You hear Danielle Gas? She’s like,
Speaker 7 (09:19):
I was upset when I was told Rad would be banned from Waterloo 2024. I’m pretty sure that’s not true. Pretty sure that’s not true. I’m pretty sure you
Sevan Matossian (09:26):
Very true. Oh, she says it was true. She’s disputing my claims
Speaker 7 (09:30):
Weren’t told you were banned. I’m pretty sure you were told that you could not sell your shoes there, but hey buddy, all you had to do was offer more money than tier. Haven’t you ever
Sevan Matossian (09:42):
Crazy. And then Danielle writes, is this why? And this is why Danielle, Brandon, seven Blue, check Mark. And this is why I will never go on Avon’s again. Don’t think when she says Go on Avon’s. I think she means Avon’s podcast. I don’t mean she means, I think that’s what she means. So quit asking. You can’t make me quit asking you can’t make me. I’d love for you to come on. How about tomorrow? How about tomorrow? How about you? Come on tomorrow. How about we talk this out? Listen, I respect your loyalty to your shoe cobbler. I fully respect it. I fully respect it. Kudos to you. Mad respect. And that is the news. There will be no show on Saturday morning. There. I will be in San Francisco at a Jiujitsu tournament. And then in the evening, Saturday evening, there will be a show with Dave Castro, the head of the CrossFit Games, and he will console me about this heartbreak from Ms. Brandon. He’ll explain to me the business side of how these things work and why it’s so important that Danielle is loyal to the Rad Shoe company and maybe who knows, maybe even Danielle will call in or I can send her a link, or maybe someone else can ask her to come in since she doesn’t want me to ask her to come on anymore. Anyway, peace.
