If you missed a podcast this morning with Chris Cooper, you missed out. Chris has a new book out. It is called Guess What? Millionaire Gym Owner, millionaire Gym Owner by Chris Cooper, the founder and owner of Two Brain Business. Incredible book. I powered through it last night and today the audio version, it is a must listen, must read regardless if you’re affiliate owner or not. This is a great book, a great reminder Life-changing details things. The younger you are, the better this book will be. Get this book in your hands now and also check out the podcast today with Chris Cooper, who I thoroughly enjoyed it, incredible value added The affiliates, I don’t even know what the affiliate network is. I think it’s just basically a coupon book for affiliates. You become affiliate and then you get access to this coupon book. The affiliate Instagram says, turn up the volume and start the clock.
(01:06):
BMI is the newest addition to CrossFit’s Affiliate Partner Network. A BMI music license gives you copyright permission to play over 20 million songs from BMI’s Award-winning repertoire. Tap the link in the bio, blah, blah, blah. What’s interesting is the comments, think about all you spend on and the value each of them bring coaches. CRM website. Now think of your class environment without music, Spotify, Pandora, or Apple. So here’s someone saying that they like the deal. People asking all sorts of questions about what does this actually mean? What’s the music? Are they going to keep suing us or trying to come after us or tell us to stop using music? Bigs Lima says, after these losers harass me for months, I told them we don’t listen to music. It actually worked. I haven’t heard them since. The reply is same for us. So basically, I guess you have to pay money to play music in your affiliate if it’s in a business and you’re making money off of it and it’s part of your way of making money, and CrossFit has somehow facilitated a deal that should help the affiliates with that deal and maybe with not getting harassed.
(02:13):
Seems like a really tough thing to police. John Young, John Young released the Everest Elite on the barbell Spin YouTube channel. This is the premier ranking of athletes and there’s different categories. Of course, there’s all time. There’s women, there’s men. But this particular clip I’m about to show you, John’s explaining why the men’s division is traditionally harder than the woman’s division because the competition has been stiffer. And that’s why I think he’s justifying why he has Matt ahead of Tia. Not necessarily because of Matt’s accomplishments, but because of Matt’s how he did his accomplishments and against who. And JR Howell said, this is a quote from JR Howell regarding this clip I’m about to show you. You were in rare form, John Young, very entertaining and I agree. This is a quite the statement here by John Young. Enjoy
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Whenever they do the same workouts 90% of the time, go look at 2020. Anytime they did the workout that was the same workout or 2019 or 2018, Matt was better
Speaker 3 (03:29):
In those years,
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Which those are the years I have,
Speaker 3 (03:34):
But not in 2021. See, it’s funny to me because you’re willing to give Matt the argument
Speaker 2 (03:41):
That you, I don’t think Tia got fitter in 2021. I just think it was the most dominant year that she had. So I decided to put that year for her.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Right, but they finished by roughly the same margin over their competitors.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah, there’s better competitors on the men’s side than the women’s side.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
But this shouldn’t matter on the
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Relative. It’s not that I don’t have respect for Tia because she’s a woman. It’s that I think there are better men. I’m not saying that to go against Matt than there are women to go against Tia the best. Not saying the fittest woman in the world right now can’t even do handstand pushups.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
That’s a good point. Well, a certain kind of handstand pushup
Sevan Matossian (04:23):
Dropping bombs a crazy show. If you are interested in CrossFit rankings, that is the ultimate show. It is live now over at the Barbell Spin YouTube channel and the kind and benign and gentle and man of the highest integrity, Tyler Watkins, even he is getting underneath John Young’s skin, a very entertaining show. I really enjoyed it. I know many of you, this has been on your mind weighing heavily on you. I will update you on this story with all its twists and turns. If you recall in Carson, there was a man who was in the bathrooms filming other men as they peed man accused of filming people in the bathrooms at CrossFit games. Pleads guilty says the author Caroline Bach, a Madison, a Tennessee man accused of filming people in the bathrooms during the 2023 CrossFit games, pleaded guilty in Dane County Court Monday, according to court records to Ty Tran, 44 is charged with possessing an intimate representation without consent. Oh yeah. Wow, that’s interesting. That sounds like some legalese. The guilty plea was part of an agreement with the prosecutors. A judge did not convict Tran instead referring him to the county’s deferred prosecution program. If Tran successfully completes the program, he will not be convicted or sentenced.
(05:47):
Alright, so there you go. I wonder if that will happen in Texas. Dana White walked off the set of Howie Mandell, woke Howie Mandel’s podcast the other day. I can’t even believe Dana actually did the podcast. Howie and his wife are crazy woke,
Speaker 6 (06:08):
Amazing guy,
Sevan Matossian (06:09):
Full-blown haters of anything that doesn’t fit in their line of thought. This is right at the beginning of the podcast how he’s a germaphobe. He demands that everyone around him take drugs. He’s a full proponent of kids taking drugs. His wife’s a proponent of it, proponent of masking and forcing and mandating drugs on all sorts of people. And Dana is not. Dana is a man who believes in freedom, freedom of thought, freedom of speech, freedom of body. But here it goes. Dana shows up on Howie Mandel’s podcast and this is how it starts.
Speaker 6 (06:41):
You are. I can’t thank you enough for being here. You and Ginger seem to be getting along. You are not only an amazing businessman. You are an inspiration. You are a philosopher. The way you do business, the way you conduct your business and your friendships and media is I’m jumping.
Sevan Matossian (07:02):
Also. Howie and his wife have a full-blown jihad against Donald Trump, the former president of the United States and the man who’s running for president. They go out of their way anytime they can to hate him. And Trump is close. Personal friends with Dana White. So another interesting aspect here,
Speaker 6 (07:18):
Ellis, but Dana, I can’t thank you enough for being here.
Speaker 7 (07:23):
Thank you for all the kind words. I appreciate it. I am so fucking tired of doing. I’m literally done with ’em. I’m not doing any more podcasts.
Sevan Matossian (07:37):
And that’s it. Dana walks off and to this day, you can’t find out if this is a bit or if it’s supposed to be funny or what happens. I don’t know who that lady is, but why would Dana would even go on this podcast is besides me, Howie’s a weasel,
Speaker 6 (07:54):
An illustrious guest from the middle of the, no, the other side of the country. South Carolina. Yes,
Sevan Matossian (07:59):
Sir. East Coast.
Speaker 6 (08:02):
Wow. Dana.
Sevan Matossian (08:03):
And then he pivots. So the head of the UFC continues to show wild leadership Lazar Juki gone. Is he done with Mayhem? What is going on here? Is Lazar gone from Mayhem? Lazar? Juki has a collaboration posting saying Alpha training, let’s go. And somewhere in a story, there’s also a picture of Lazar with his arm around a coach and it says, this is where I started and this is where I’m headed. Or something like that. Let me see if I can pull this up. Maybe Lazar still has the, there it is. 2021. My first CrossFit games Top 10 finish. Best male rookie of the year. All done with this man. Glad to be back to finish what we started. So it looks like Lazar is making some sort of move. That mean he’s done with Mayhem, I think, but more to come for sure. Lazar a great guest who’s on the show, him and his brother, and you can never ever have enough of Emily Rolfe.
(09:14):
She went to Muscle Beach for a pump. She is showcasing her ESC sounds. Emily was a guest on the show. Great sport CrossFit games athlete. There’s never too much of Emily doing dips. Thank you Emily for Giness with your presence, Emily Rolf. Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like the rumors have it that our buddy Jay de Koons, he’s the guy who, I think he’s the head of affiliates affiliate director. He’s the guy who’s in charge of affiliates reports directly to Mr. Fall, the CEO over at CrossFit Inc. There was a senior manager affiliate operations position open and this guy, the guy who got the job, I don’t know his name yet, but he was brought from the bar method where I also believe Koons came from. Not uncommon for people to bring their buddies to their new jobs. So another person now on the affiliate team, I suspect this guy won’t say that CrossFit’s dangerous or that they won’t tell us that he doesn’t have his level one, but he is from the bar method is what I’m hearing. So welcome to the team buddy. May your entry be smooth, whoever you are, wherever you come from. Finally, I told you this a few days ago, ma O’Brien will not be coming back to the CrossFit games. There’s really no breaking news here. She’s done. We knew she was done.
(10:53):
You don’t even need to go watch her post. Basically in a nutshell, you find out that MOB, in case you were wondering, MOB stands for Mentally Off Balance. That’s the name of her new brand. And she basically is letting us know that she’s not competing, but we should expect more posts about Rain, Gowa and Noble in the coming weeks and months and years so that she can fulfill her sponsor obligations. MOB. Come on. It’s funny. Come on, come on, come on, come on. Before you start getting on your keyboard. It’s funny. It’s funny. It’s funny. Anyway, whatever. Finally we save the best for last. If you go over to the Andrew Hiller Fit Instagram account, you’ll see this insanity. Here we go. Mr. Wooley from coffee, make coffee great. Make pods great again. Make wads great again. Here we go.
Speaker 8 (11:56):
A lot of stuff about Greg. One thing I’ll say about him is I’m not going to make humble one of those words and I say that with love.
Sevan Matossian (12:05):
I’m not going to make humble one of those words, but I say it with love. Yeah, okay. I like this. I like
Speaker 8 (12:09):
This. The reason I say that is because we call the CrossFit games the competition to find the fittest on earth.
Sevan Matossian (12:15):
Sure do. We’re bad dudes. We are bad dudes. We’re the fittest dude in any Starbucks or Walmart at all times,
Speaker 8 (12:24):
Which is the most braggadocious comment you could ever come up with. We’re going to find the fittest on earth.
Sevan Matossian (12:30):
Yeah, look at Wooly. It’s like he got a set of balls or something. Look at him. I wonder if Nikki’s not standing by him or something. Look at him. All puffy chested and shit acting like a man.
Speaker 8 (12:41):
I think it’s kind of a bullshit statement.
Sevan Matossian (12:42):
Oh, wooly. No, you didn’t. You were just like, yeah, yeah, I like this. And then now you’re like, I think it’s kind of a bullshit statement. I know. I know. It’s really hard for you to commit to anything. I get it. I get it. I get it. Someone’s got your balls in a glass jar. I get it
Speaker 8 (13:01):
Personally, but it’s awesome.
Sevan Matossian (13:03):
Oh, now back the other way. But it’s awesome. So it’s cool. It’s not cool. It’s cool. I don’t agree with this bullshit, but it’s awesome. Okay, well I’m not sure where you stand. What are you saying?
Speaker 8 (13:17):
It makes me want to go out and go. I do CrossFit. I compete against the fittest owner
Sevan Matossian (13:20):
Earth. Okay, I’m with you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now I’m back with you. Okay. It makes me want to do CrossFit. Here’s
Speaker 8 (13:24):
The swagger for the people. We’re trying to get into the affiliates, right? In the old days, and I’m not sure I want us going back to this
Sevan Matossian (13:32):
Exact, oh my God. You see what he’s doing? He likes it, but I’m not sure if I want to go back to it, dude, just say something. Grow a set and just put a flag in the ground and stand behind something. Dude. Stand behind something. Say something. My God, this is embarrassing.
Speaker 8 (13:51):
But when we started, it was, it’s the hardest thing you’re ever going to do. I personally took a lot of pride in I’m doing something really hard. I’m not doing it at the level of a games athlete, but what I’m doing is challenging myself. And I was proud of that. And that’s what I don’t feel like I hear from them right now to get people in the door is that you’re going to do something you’re proud of
Sevan Matossian (14:14):
Because you’re not helping with your wishy-washy shit. What the hell are you even saying? Makes sense.
(14:20):
And then, hey, and then I don’t have the clip right here, but right after he says that his co-host Nikki goes, I don’t know if I agree with you. Can’t. First of all, you don’t even know what he just said. He can’t even mark the X and be like that dude, you’re doing a podcast. You’re not talking to your wife. Stick to something, hit the bullseye. And then your co-host thinks that they know what you’re saying, but she’s obviously trapped between her ears trying to figure out what you’re saying. So she comes up with her own story, but she’s not even, she can’t even say, I don’t disagree with you. She has to say, I’m not sure I agree with you. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. That is the news. The.
