REVIEW of The Dave Castro Week In Review

@coffeepodsnwods (00:00):

45.

Sevan Matossian (00:01):

Perfect. Welcome and what’s your time zone called?

@coffeepodsnwods (00:07):

Irish. GMT.

Sevan Matossian (00:09):

Welcome to the seven on podcast. It’s 6 45.

@coffeepodsnwods (00:14):

5 45 6 45.

Sevan Matossian (00:16):

6 45 Irish time. I’m having a little trouble hearing Pedro. Let me know if you guys are having trouble too. Maybe call him in my headphones so I turned him up a little bit. Welcome to Rambler. Hi, welcome. Yes. Welcome to the Sev podcast week, the review of the week in review show. Before we start, I want to tell you something incredible, Pedro, that you’re going to have trouble getting your head wrapped around your head, wrapped around your heads

@coffeepodsnwods (00:49):

In my pants and outside of my pants. Cole,

Sevan Matossian (00:52):

I’m not sure I understand this post, I don’t understand this post, but maybe you can explain it to me. Someone told me that there’s a, oh welcome John Young. Every time you come in I hear a dog barking. There’s a famous CrossFitter who is pregnant.

@coffeepodsnwods (01:16):

Correct?

Sevan Matossian (01:16):

True or false. How the fuck are we supposed to know that?

@coffeepodsnwods (01:20):

Because there’s a date and there’s an extra person in the family represented by a teddy bear.

Sevan Matossian (01:24):

No shit.

@coffeepodsnwods (01:26):

Yeah, this is how people do it now, man.

Sevan Matossian (01:29):

Wow. I prefer the days when it’s like I bang this chick without a condom or any fucking prophylactics or any kind of contraception and she,

@coffeepodsnwods (01:40):

That’s how Tyler Watkins will announce it.

Sevan Matossian (01:42):

She caught the baby batter and it now my sperming ran up to her egging and they’ve been hugging.

@coffeepodsnwods (01:50):

I done basted her.

Sevan Matossian (01:51):

Yeah, I baed her. No shit. That’s how they do it. That’s ridiculous. But anyway, the way,

@coffeepodsnwods (01:57):

Usually it’s a picture of the scam or whatever, but yeah, that’s what I take from that Anyway,

Sevan Matossian (02:02):

Is that how you interpret

@coffeepodsnwods (02:03):

It? And she’s buying a nude teddy bear on the 2nd of May, and this is a,

Sevan Matossian (02:07):

I will say this, compared to Dave Castro’s clues, this is brilliant.

@coffeepodsnwods (02:15):

This actually spread of logic

Sevan Matossian (02:16):

Is true. She makes Dave Cassper look like a fucking dingdong. His clues are just pathetic. I know we’re way out of John’s scope of being able to, he can’t even add anything to this. John. You know they had sex.

@coffeepodsnwods (02:31):

She supposed be rogue.

Sevan Matossian (02:32):

John, do you have sex, John?

@coffeepodsnwods (02:33):

I do.

Sevan Matossian (02:34):

Alright. You going to have a baby? You know how to make a baby, you know that could lead to babies.

@coffeepodsnwods (02:39):

Yeah, well, I mean that’d be great.

Sevan Matossian (02:41):

Alright, just checking.

@coffeepodsnwods (02:43):

You don’t think I could be a daddy’s step on?

Sevan Matossian (02:45):

Dude, you’d be an amazing daddy. I think so. I could see you having a fucking litter timeout.

@coffeepodsnwods (02:51):

So do you think

Sevan Matossian (02:51):

She’s a great man and a great husband? All you need is a baby.

@coffeepodsnwods (02:55):

That’s what I’m saying.

Sevan Matossian (02:56):

Go ahead, Tyler. Go ahead.

@coffeepodsnwods (02:58):

Do you think Shelby’s taking her spot? We have 21 women on the roster right now, so is Annie pulling

John Young (03:05):

Out at Rogue?

@coffeepodsnwods (03:06):

Yeah,

John Young (03:07):

We know Fred. We know Frederick didn’t I? I’m sure Brian friend will break that news anytime.

@coffeepodsnwods (03:18):

Yeah, I assumed it was Lauren, but that makes sense too.

John Young (03:21):

I thought it was Lauren too. I mean she can

Sevan Matossian (03:24):

Probably Lauren who? Fisher.

John Young (03:25):

Yeah,

@coffeepodsnwods (03:25):

Yeah. Dear Katie, please put out

John Young (03:29):

An official athlete. How far along is she? Have we done the math on it yet?

Sevan Matossian (03:34):

Oh, we haven’t.

@coffeepodsnwods (03:35):

She’s about 10 weeks.

Sevan Matossian (03:38):

She got good.

John Young (03:39):

I mean, she could do rogue.

@coffeepodsnwods (03:41):

Nobody’s going to comment on how fast that fucking math was.

John Young (03:43):

Really? That was really

@coffeepodsnwods (03:45):

Good. You’re just, just got a

John Young (03:45):

Skirt pass. It could

Sevan Matossian (03:46):

Be wrong. I didn’t even hear to Matt, which Matt did you do?

@coffeepodsnwods (03:50):

She’s about 10 weeks in, I’d say, or 12 weeks. 10 or 12 weeks. You generally don’t tell people until you’re like 12 weeks, so you’d have to assume 12.

Sevan Matossian (03:57):

Natty can’t get pregnant if you’re on all j. Step Natty. By the way, ladies and gentlemen, I do want to show you one thing. For some reason people find it necessary to put shoes on kids. Worst fucking thing. One of the worst things you could do for your kids besides fucking injecting with drugs made by your buddies at Pfizer, but those also rain boots, stupid stop ankle flexion and it’s just ridiculous. Wrong. Do not do that. That is dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb. But I love Annie Annie and I love Fredrik. It’s not a comment on their parenting. I’m just telling you, Hey Dick, go fuck yourself. Okay? We don’t have a lot of time today because John Young’s not going to be around for long. He turns into a pumpkin. This is the, anyway, congratulations to Annie. Annie, Thor’s daughter and Frederick and Gideon are having a baby. It’s a miracle. It’s awesome.

John Young (04:58):

Do you think this is the end of her career?

Sevan Matossian (05:02):

Oh, I don’t.

John Young (05:04):

I don’t either

@coffeepodsnwods (05:06):

As a elite individual or just period.

Sevan Matossian (05:09):

Elite. She qualifies again.

John Young (05:12):

Yeah, I think she can qualify again. Yeah. I don’t think she’ll be competitive, but I think she can make it.

@coffeepodsnwods (05:21):

No chance you won’t put money on it.

Sevan Matossian (05:25):

October 23rd, what do you say, Pedro? Compete again.

@coffeepodsnwods (05:30):

I’d say she’ll come back on a team. I think just for lifestyle, just for quality of life and stuff. I’d say team over individual, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she went again.

John Young (05:38):

I don’t think they were expecting

@coffeepodsnwods (05:41):

This.

Sevan Matossian (05:42):

This isn’t the order right here of how I like these people on the show, by the way, John. Tyler.

John Young (05:50):

I’ll take it, Pedro,

Sevan Matossian (05:51):

In case you’re wondering. That’s how I should It’s

@coffeepodsnwods (05:53):

Reverse. It’s reverse orders.

Sevan Matossian (05:54):

Pedro’s translating that to Irish hasn’t hit him yet.

@coffeepodsnwods (05:57):

No, you said it isn’t, but I’m like, well, you fucking reordered it so it is. No

Sevan Matossian (06:01):

It is. No it is. No it is not. It is not. It is.

@coffeepodsnwods (06:04):

I’m closest to Savannah. That’s all that matters.

Sevan Matossian (06:06):

Right? Right. I have to keep nice. That’s like when the magicians have those tricks and if you say like three, they count 1, 2, 3, but if you say six, they spell it out. SIX. So they always go to the same card. Three over from the left. That was like that. Pedro pulled one of those. I’m closest to Sev. That’s what meant

@coffeepodsnwods (06:24):

There’s so many things that just opened up in my brain because you said, I’m

Sevan Matossian (06:27):

Like, what? Yeah, yeah. My kid’s in the magic. I’m learning the shit. Okay. I’m putting the playback speed to 1.25. You don’t have to comment on everything. You can talk twice as fast as you normally do. Please. And action.

Speaker 4 (06:43):

We can review October 23rd, 2023.

Sevan Matossian (06:48):

Oh, one more thing I’m going to do for this show for all of you guys who are listening, I’m going to go to edit mic settings for Pedro. Okay, so Pedro’s are down. I’m going to, I’m going to go to my, oh shoot. I don’t know how to, oh, I’m going to go to my mic settings and I turn my mic down. I’m going to go to, I can’t go to, oh, will you unmute yourself for a second, John? I’m going to your mic settings. I’m going to turn you way down and the reason why I’m doing this guys is so that you can turn your TVs up so you can hear Dave better. This is something that we’ve learned from the previous shows. The YouTube is so low. Okay, hopefully that helps all you guys and we’re off to the races.

Speaker 4 (07:38):

Comments from last week at bestie oh oh seven. Hi Dave. Why has the media coverage from CrossFit on Tyson, Beijing making his first NFL start been so poor and slow? They should be celebrating his achievement and using it as a promotion. We definitely are celebrating it. We’re very proud of him to the fact that it’s slow. I think it’s been timely. He started this week and we put out some content around his start this week. That makes total sense. I think we should and will probably continue to highlight his story and tell his story to the world because it’s pretty cool. I met, I first met Travis Page and his father right here.

Sevan Matossian (08:12):

Okay, before we, oh shit. Sorry. Hold on. Hello? Hello. Good morning. This is Theresa with FedEx, right? Hi Theresa. Hi. Hi. So the item that was shipped to you, it’s about the size of a regular car battery. Oh, sweet. Okay. And it comes on a pallet. One car battery comes on a pallet. Huh. That’s crazy.

@coffeepodsnwods (08:38):

Yeah, because being that it’s a

Sevan Matossian (08:41):

Battery, they need to strap it to the it from falling on anything.

@coffeepodsnwods (08:48):

So you want to take it tomorrow or

Sevan Matossian (08:51):

Wednesday? I’ll take it whenever. I’ll take it tomorrow. Sounds good. I love, tomorrow’s a great day to take it. Alright, I’ll put you down for tomorrow. Did you need a half hour call before delivery or just send him over? That would be fantastic. Alright, so we’ll do that. And Keith is in your area usually between 10 30 and two 30. Okay. Is Keith cool? I’m sorry? Is Keith cool? Yeah. Alright, cool. I like cool dudes. All right. I’ll put here to give you a call half hour before. Oh, and the caller ID might show you a area code that’s an seven. Yeah, sure. Okay. Okay. A lot of people ignore it, so just so you know that Theresa, you’re awesome. Thanks for telling me the size of the package that was tripping me out, that it was coming on a pallet. No worries. Thank you. You’re all set. Alright girl, have a good day. You too.

@coffeepodsnwods (09:40):

Bye-Bye. Alright, bye. Do they give out podcast awards?

Sevan Matossian (09:47):

I do not think that Dave, I do not think CrossFit did it in a timely matter. I think that I know his dad called Dave and other people and told them, my son’s going to the Senior Bowl. You guys should send out a fucking cameraman and the Senior Bowl is the fucking pro bowl for college football and he had already won the Harlan Trophy and he probably has the fastest Fran time in fucking the NFL and they should have sent someone out a fucking year ago. This should be the fifth piece on him. Am I mad at CrossFit? Not at all. Did they drop the ball? Fuck they dropped it, fumbled it and fucking fell on it and it went right up into their asshole.

@coffeepodsnwods (10:25):

I get all of those references after yesterday. Thank you. I was thinking about that last night.

John Young (10:30):

You’ve

@coffeepodsnwods (10:31):

Been waving the flag for forever. Like, Hey, Tyson’s a big deal. You guys should be paying attention to this, and then all of a sudden it’s like everybody

John Young (10:39):

Moved. Now

@coffeepodsnwods (10:39):

It’s like, well, we could have done so much work had you guys just listened

John Young (10:43):

For five seconds.

Sevan Matossian (10:44):

Why didn’t they do it when he is in high school? Pedro, thoughts on the subject or is CrossFit late to the game? Dave says

@coffeepodsnwods (10:51):

No. Yeah, I think they’re, but I didn’t even know him. I just feel like if you’ve been talking about him and if you’ve had him on your show, then a lot of people will have known about him as well and then to not move sooner is just, if nothing else, think of how much he’d feel obliged to oblige in the future. Had they made a massive fuss 12 months ago forever. Do you know what I mean? He’s always going to feel obliged to you. He has a relationship with you now because you were early doors, like you were a ground level investor in him

John Young (11:21):

Kind, but

Sevan Matossian (11:21):

Right. Ground level. Ground level. John Young, any thoughts on the topic? Are they late to the game?

John Young (11:27):

I mean I think as soon as he got on the 53 man roster, there should have been something about him.

Sevan Matossian (11:33):

Not sooner, not when he was in college. College football. He wasn’t a big

John Young (11:36):

College, high school. AD two college athlete is nothing at

Sevan Matossian (11:39):

Harlan Trophy. Yeah, it doesn’t

John Young (11:41):

Matter. He was nothing until he made the roster when broke the casting

@coffeepodsnwods (11:44):

Record. Are you kidding

John Young (11:45):

Me? It’s D two. Who cares? No, I’m saying to expect a story from that. There are CrossFitters you guys don’t know about that did CrossFit that played football, but they weren’t anything. He was nothing until he made the 53 man roster and now he’s a really big deal.

Sevan Matossian (12:05):

Let me push back a second, John. I think they should have done the piece on him when he was in junior high so that they could show junior high kids should be doing CrossFit to be the best at football.

@coffeepodsnwods (12:17):

Was it

Sevan Matossian (12:18):

Check? Was he one of those

@coffeepodsnwods (12:19):

Skis where it was obvious back then? I’m sure he was

John Young (12:22):

Degree if were playing D two, it’s not obvious for anything at all.

Sevan Matossian (12:26):

Fair enough. To me,

@coffeepodsnwods (12:27):

It was probably obvious to a degree you could have,

John Young (12:30):

Could have started it and not made anything due two football. It’s not even small tier D one. You know what I mean? It’s not even like a CMO or a,

Sevan Matossian (12:39):

And he went to a shitty D two school in John to help John out even more. It’s

John Young (12:44):

Not even a good D two. It’s a big deal now and they should be putting stories out left and right and I think once he made the 53 man roster, he already exceeded expectations hugely by making the roster and it’s amazing what he’s done and I hope we continue. He’s playing week two. I don’t know if y’all saw that, but he’s playing next week too, which is super.

@coffeepodsnwods (13:07):

He got the thumbs up for week

Sevan Matossian (13:08):

Two and he’ll be on this show tomorrow morning. Let me say two things real quick. We’re talking about the a hundred foot view at the 5,000 foot view. Congratulations to CrossFit for actually even showing the piece, so that’s awesome. And then go to the a hundred thousand foot view and it’s awesome that Dave even read the question, so I want to give kudos to that. This is not shitty on CrossFit. This is just a hundred foot view. Do you guys agree?

@coffeepodsnwods (13:30):

Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (13:31):

Okay,

@coffeepodsnwods (13:32):

Here we go. Yeah,

Speaker 4 (13:33):

I think we should and will probably continue to highlight his story and tell his story to the world because it’s pretty cool. I first met Travis page and his father right here behind about 10 yards that way in 2009 at that event, at those CrossFit games, actually we met him because of Seon. So we had Seon who did a documentary called Pulling John on arm. Wrestlers invited Tyson out, talked to us about inviting Tyson out to kind of do his thing to be a personality, to be an arm wrestler. And he, on the first go of meeting him, we had the deadlift ladder set up in the first interaction I had with him and I said, let’s go through it. He’s obviously almost twice my size. So we both started going through the deadlift ladder together and he obviously went much higher than I did, but been friends with Travis since we then ended up using him. I don’t think we use him that year, but many years later, or probably even next year, definitely when we were in Carson, we started using him as a floor announcer and a big energy, big guy, world champion, arm wrestler after being exposed to us and working with

Sevan Matossian (14:31):

Great guy. Best floor commentator ever. If you ask me. I think a lot of people agree and the movie Pulling John, if you haven’t seen, it’s a documentary I made many years ago. It’s amazing Thoughts, Pedro, anything?

@coffeepodsnwods (14:42):

Was it last time he was on

Sevan Matossian (14:43):

Your show? He’s

@coffeepodsnwods (14:44):

Mentioned something. I can’t remember who the fuck he’s talking about, but he said, oh, it’s really important to me to give credit where it’s due and I just love that he says that it was

Sevan Matossian (14:51):

Because of you that he met him and stuff. I always love that about Dave. It’s crazy. Yeah, for sure. Mr. Watkins, any thoughts?

John Young (14:59):

No

Sevan Matossian (15:00):

Young Yung.

John Young (15:02):

I agree with Peter. He pretty much said it all

Speaker 4 (15:05):

Does. He ended up opening up his own affiliate and his young son at that time, he started doing CrossFit and was prepping him for a football career. And so Tyson has been doing CrossFit for, he’s like an original CrossFit kids style athlete and had been doing,

Sevan Matossian (15:20):

Yeah, original Better than Brian Friend. No, Brian Friend was never a floor commentator. So that’s the distinction. Travis ran the stadium, so he controlled the crowd stadium at the event. He MCed the event and he was fucking amazing

Speaker 4 (15:36):

For a number of years and super cool to see followed his success through college because Travis was constantly sending us updates on how he was doing and Chevon’s a huge fan of his. So Stevon was also following him closely and then followed the story through the draft and what happened there. And then Chicago picking him up and then going to preseason and the success he had there and then actually making the team and then yesterday getting his first start because the first string quarterback got injured and excelling and having a high percentage completion rate and also throwing a touchdown is already touchdown and winning the game in his first start. So pretty cool. The Tyson Paget story is a great story. I hope we can continue to highlight it.

Sevan Matossian (16:17):

Anybody, anybody

John Young (16:19):

Oliver

John Young (16:20):

For that?

John Young (16:22):

He’s on Sunday night football too, so the whole nation’s going to watch ’em.

Sevan Matossian (16:27):

They play the Chargers.

John Young (16:29):

Yeah, he was just a regular 12 o’clock game. You can only watch it in certain areas. The bears are Sunday night football, meaning there’s one football game the whole entire America’s, if they’re watching it’s on a, B, C or whatever

Sevan Matossian (16:47):

Channel. People who need an excuse to drink at night will be watching that Sunday.

John Young (16:50):

Yeah. Yes.

Sevan Matossian (16:51):

What time is it at? Like 7:00 PM or

John Young (16:53):

Something?

John Young (16:53):

Yeah, fuck sake.

Sevan Matossian (16:55):

Not your country Pedro. Not your country. Yeah, we don’t need an excuse to drink.

Speaker 4 (17:03):

Julie Jones. Hi David. Recently, if

Sevan Matossian (17:04):

You’re awake,

Speaker 4 (17:06):

Heard that you were talking about the level one course on Sevenths podcast and I recently watched on talking about it on the Jed Bur podcast.

Sevan Matossian (17:11):

Wow. Another Stevon plug. I was, I love he bounced his head. Yeah, recently watching the Stevon podcast and he’s plugging the level one. Fuck. Yeah. If you haven’t taken your level one, you’re dinging dong

Speaker 4 (17:19):

Who was taking level one twice. I definitely felt like I got a lot of information about the methodology. My concern is that the level one is the only requirement for opening up an affiliate or becoming a coach. Well I think it is absolutely the best place to start. I also feel like there’s content that should be a prerequisite for opening an affiliate, including understanding the mission vision of the organization and best practices for owners and coaches. I realize that it creates a larger barrier to entry, but I wonder if it’ll help potential affiliate understand what is involved and maybe even expected in terms of the brand from hq. I’d like to open affiliate one day, but I love something like a semester long prep course to prepare for opening an affiliate. I think

Sevan Matossian (17:50):

So this person wants to raise the barrier of entry to open an affiliate

Speaker 4 (17:56):

Well, so to the fact that the level one had such a low barrier to entry and all you need to do is take that to open an affiliate. I think it’s led to a lot of what’s being here. What I mean by that is there are high number of gyms, high number of trainers, high number of processers around the world who started with that model and became who they are now because of that. So it’s led to a lot of our spread and success does it mean We’re not thinking about how to make it better, how to make coaches better, how to make affiliates better. We are thinking about those things and we do want to accomplish those goals. So we’re looking at all options to improve on what we currently do. I’d love something like semester long prep course to prepare for opening an affiliate.

(18:34):

There’s currently a lot of support the affiliate team provides and they’re going to provide more in your journey for opening up an affiliate. I don’t think we’re going down the road of opening up or doing a semester long prep course, but you should definitely, if you’re interested in opening up affiliate down the road, reach out to the affiliate team and talk to them about some of the things they have in place to prep you to open up an affiliate and also expect there will be more stuff to enable you and to set you up for success in the journey to open up an affiliate that they’re working on.

Sevan Matossian (19:00):

I couldn’t disagree with that more. I think it’s complete fucking idiocy.

Tyler Watkins (19:06):

Elaborate, what are you saying?

Sevan Matossian (19:09):

You go to school to become a cop. You still suck as a cop until you get out there and become a cop. You go to school to become a doctor, you’re a fucking idiot. You still don’t know shit about nutrition. You got to go out there and be a doctor. You have to practice this profession does not need more barriers of entry. Let the free markets determine who’s good and who’s bad. And the truth is, is that 99% of the complaints I hear about CrossFit have nothing to do with the coaching and they have to do with just the personalities. Just the fact that my gym owner’s a dick. They don’t say hi to me. They’re not welcoming, they’re not clean, they’re not this. I’ve never heard anyone be like, well I just had a shitty coach, he taught me the fucking clean wrong. I don’t hear that. So I don’t think that’s the problem and I want more gyms. More gyms, more gyms.

Tyler Watkins (19:54):

This whole idea sent me down the road of libertarianism and the teachings of Milton Friedman. And so it’s like, to put it in a different context, accountants all get their CPA license. Do you know how many CPAs I know that don’t know how to be an accountant? All is a check mark. How many, oh, it’s a joke. Can’t do Accounting is ACPA and it’s like basically it always starts with a good idea. I think all the things that that guy said is a good idea, A prep course, things that’ll help. It always starts that way. And then the goalposts move and it moves to keep people out. And right now, if you’re motivated, you can start your own gym. That’s all you need to do is be motivated as opposed to have four years worth of this. Have a level three before you open the gym. All these things. And it’s like that’s how you move people out of the space who don’t need to be in the space is you’d be better than them. And that’s all that’s required.

Sevan Matossian (20:47):

Bryson Delmonte correction. Sevan, I called you one time and told you about a retarded coach and brought up the exact point requiring an L one coach, meaning they gave you shitty training. Alright, I stand corrected one time I heard it. John, do you have any thoughts on the subject?

Speaker 4 (21:01):

I agree 100% with you on this topic,

Sevan Matossian (21:05):

Which is

Speaker 4 (21:07):

I usually don’t agree a hundred percent with you, but I don’t think there needs to be the self-select out model one. I think it’s been proven to work and I just agree a hundred percent with that. People will know who the best coaches is the best. Jims will thrive and then other gyms will shut down and their coaching or environment or attitudes or whatever, it’s not good enough and it will shut down because of it. I mean everything that you said, I agree. I don’t think there needs to be more barriers to entry.

Sevan Matossian (21:40):

Pedro, do you have affiliates in Ireland?

@coffeepodsnwods (21:43):

Fuck you. I

Sevan Matossian (21:45):

Actually, I know you said that out loud, right? We heard you say fuck you.

@coffeepodsnwods (21:48):

Oh my mic on. Sorry. Shit. I will say I think the model, I don’t think there should be any extra level barriers of entry. I will say though that for example, I think Taylor said that there’s 42 or 43 affiliates in Charlotte alone. There’s 37 in Ireland. So if you’re living in a town and there’s no CrossFit affiliate or there’s a shit CrossFit affiliate, you’re just stuck. Do you know what I mean? It’s not like you can just drive two miles either direction and go to another one. So I will say that the model works really well in densely populated affiliate areas, but I still despite that here, think that there shouldn’t be any extra levels or barriers of entry. Fuck you Philip.

Sevan Matossian (22:33):

I have

@coffeepodsnwods (22:33):

Heard about that being an issue in a town that I used to live in, somebody wanted to open a gym and they vetoed it because they were like, there’s too many gyms in the area already, but as someone who went to one of the gyms, the other gyms in the area weren’t very equality. And so it’s like I understand what you guys, that’s probably why they vetoed it. That’s probably why they veed it. They didn’t. I see what you’re saying. If they’re going to open another one, it’s just going to kill all three. Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (22:59):

Bryson ante. Philip. I can understand the argument for opening gym, but I think to coach it and affiliate you should have to have an L one at least it makes sense if you’re going to be coach people. I agree. I agree. You should at least have to have an L one. I agree.

Speaker 4 (23:10):

At Alaska. Last frontier homestead. Dave, I bet you shoot the club up guy. It’s really Josh Bridges, rich Froning or another top athlete just giving you shit. Haha. Thanks for the updates and if you do have to give away your olive oil, I’ll send you my address. It could be, it probably is an ex-athlete who’s just poking the bear. Don’t know at Samuel Lins. 1 6 1 6. Any idea when the schedule for 2024 will be released? Dates for open qualifier? Can we expect time?

Sevan Matossian (23:34):

Should we offer some sort of reward for someone who outshoot the club up? Can you do that? What are the rules? The etiquette rules on the internet. Is that like doxxing or what is

@coffeepodsnwods (23:43):

That? It’s doxxing.

Sevan Matossian (23:44):

Oh, oh, you can’t do that. Okay.

@coffeepodsnwods (23:46):

Well if you just say their

Sevan Matossian (23:47):

Name, but I can’t be like, hey, I’ll let someone fucking, I’ll send someone a picture with my shirt off. If you tell me who shoot the club up is and I get his name, am I allowed to say that and then say his name?

@coffeepodsnwods (23:58):

I think if you know there’s no harm in it.

Sevan Matossian (24:01):

Oh, but I can’t post it. I shouldn’t post it. If someone could offer,

@coffeepodsnwods (24:04):

You could offer him the picture to post his own name.

Sevan Matossian (24:13):

Okay.

Speaker 4 (24:14):

Similar to last year. Should be released soon. Not this month, but sometime next month. And you can expect there to be some changes but also some similarities. Drew Warn.

Sevan Matossian (24:26):

Oh, what did you hear Pedro? You heard that the game schedule’s coming out in November?

@coffeepodsnwods (24:29):

Yeah, and then I heard the last line, which he laughed at himself. I was like, you can expect some changes but also some similarities which just gives absolutely nothing away.

Sevan Matossian (24:39):

Alright, November, here

@coffeepodsnwods (24:40):

It is. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:41):

6, 7, 4, 1. Dave in an effort to give fans of the sport, something to look forward to in the off season, it’d be cool to have some main site workouts turned into online competition. Maybe a cash prize or something that has some bearing on the games, seeding advantage, pay, travel, whatever. It makes it interesting. Also, I did a drop in at the ranch in May of 2022. You’re an awesome host. Thanks. Well thank you for the praise on the drop in. I think that’s a great idea. I definitely will have our team look into what you suggested.

Sevan Matossian (25:04):

What do you think? Doesn’t Rogue do that already? Some sort of giveaways, workout giveaways

@coffeepodsnwods (25:11):

In the off season it’s popular.

Sevan Matossian (25:13):

It won’t be as popular as rogues.

@coffeepodsnwods (25:15):

No. Rogues is popular so why not? You know what I mean?

Sevan Matossian (25:18):

Add to it.

@coffeepodsnwods (25:19):

Yeah.

Speaker 4 (25:21):

Pretty cool. At Felicia Martinez. 9, 3, 6 1. Is there somewhere we can send law enforcement challenge coins for you to add to your collection so that

Sevan Matossian (25:29):

Felicia Martinez, black, white or other?

@coffeepodsnwods (25:35):

Other, yeah, other.

Sevan Matossian (25:38):

Okay. So she wants to know about sending cop coins or something

Speaker 4 (25:42):

Payable back there. Was

@coffeepodsnwods (25:43):

Dave like this when you worked with him where someone would say, Hey, what if we do this? And he said that’s a great idea. Was he

Sevan Matossian (25:49):

Always? No, no, no. He’s still not like that. No, that’s all PR stunt. He’s still not like that. He listens though. He’s very open to listening to ideas but he wouldn’t give you a response of yes or no. He’s just very stoked. If you know Dave, he says more in one of these shows than he does in If I went and hung out at his house for the afternoon.

@coffeepodsnwods (26:09):

Okay,

Sevan Matossian (26:10):

This is chatty Kathy, Dave,

Speaker 4 (26:12):

We’ll have our team look into what you suggested. Pretty cool at Felicia Martinez. 9 3 6 1. Is there somewhere we can send law enforcement challenge coins for you to add to your collection? So that table back there has all my coins underneath the glass. It’s a pretty cool setup. Yeah, definitely send them to the ranch. This is the ranch. If I get a coin here, I’ll add it to the collection and I greatly appreciate the offer. Aaron Mc new

Sevan Matossian (26:34):

That table behind Dave is a custom rogue table. It’s pretty wild. So I guess he has a piece of glass on it and underneath the glass he has a bunch of coins. I want to know what he’s burning wood on in the back. That’s just some foofy. Jim Aya. Alright, good. That’s what I wanted do.

Speaker 4 (26:54):

9 3 6. Hi Dave. I apologize if this question has been asked, but have you ever considered a master’s team division in the future with the branch out similar to the Masters age groups now or perhaps a different combination considering Masters are the highest contributor to the open? Yeah, we’re absolutely considering that. And as Legends has the age group CrossFit games, this next season we’re looking at Masters Fitness collective to possibly do something like a team competition. And we’ve been talking to them for a while about that. They really want to do that. We’re trying to make it work. We’ll see if we can pull it off next year, if not next year, maybe down the road. But yes,

Sevan Matossian (27:26):

I’m indifferent. Anyone have any comments on teams for masters’s athletes?

John Young (27:32):

I feel like that would be not very much publicity, just if people are already struggling to care about masters, individuals, master’s team. I mean it would just be for the people that want to do master’s team and nobody else.

Sevan Matossian (27:48):

So if you

Sevan Matossian (27:48):

Bring 500 more people to a competition with a hundred teams, I think they have the freedom to do it now because they’re outsourcing. I think that’s why it’s a smart move. Like

John Young (27:58):

They have the

Sevan Matossian (27:59):

Bandwidth now.

John Young (28:00):

Yeah, I mean they can and if enough people want to do it, sure. It’s just not very many people are going to care about that at all.

Sevan Matossian (28:08):

If they said it last year it would be dumb, but now it’s like, yeah, that’s a good move. I agree now

John Young (28:13):

That they their

Sevan Matossian (28:14):

Own thing.

John Young (28:15):

I agree. I agree with, agree with that. I agree that a hundred percent. Yeah. And they might, sorry,

Sevan Matossian (28:22):

Go ahead. They might,

John Young (28:24):

I wouldn’t be surprised if they went that route at all if since the masters are their own thing. I didn’t think about that. But yeah, since how it is now, it leaves them the leeway to do that. Do you think

Speaker 4 (28:35):

Something we are,

Sevan Matossian (28:40):

Go ahead.

John Young (28:42):

What do you think? Savon?

Sevan Matossian (28:43):

I agree with you. I agree with you. I agree with you.

Sevan Matossian (28:46):

Wasn’t worth the interruption

Speaker 4 (28:48):

At Brandon pastorrick. 9 7 2 8. Brandon, great to hear from you. It’s been a long time. Hope you are doing well. Dave, I’ll take over the main site programming, LOL.

Sevan Matossian (28:57):

I think Brandon pastorrick used to be a games athlete way back in the day, like oh 7, 0 8, 0 9. Name, ring a bell. Brandon pastorrick.

John Young (29:07):

Yeah, he competed back then.

Sevan Matossian (29:09):

So he is asking to take over the pastor pastorrick. Yeah, and it looks like he just asked Dave, can I do the main site programming?

Speaker 4 (29:18):

I’m going to move on to some other topics now that we’re out of comments, kind of upcoming and some stuff that we did this week. So the olive oil quick update on that. The I printed or I’ve had produced about 70 bottles, 375 milliliter with the co-branded, rogue Invitational and Rogue logo. Those will be for sale at Rogue. And this week I will be there Thursday afternoon, Thursday evening. So maybe I’ll see you there. I also have finished the bottles that will go online, but I’m working on those and how I will ultimately sell them, but not ready for that yet.

Sevan Matossian (29:54):

I’ve already gotten a bottle of the olive oil. My wife used it in a week. It’s fucking great.

Speaker 4 (29:58):

Anyways, we’ll have some of the.
