REVIEW of TDC WIR 19 Feb 2024

Sevan Matossian (00:00):

Source in the space after this. Bam. We’re live. Susa. What’s up?

Matthew Souza (00:05):

Not much. Just got home from the gym. Stoked to be here.

Sevan Matossian (00:08):

Dude. Look at your skin. Have you been doing some sort of skin therapy or something?

Matthew Souza (00:13):

No.

Sevan Matossian (00:14):

Look at you. You’re smooth.

Matthew Souza (00:15):

Matter of fact, I feel like this bicep is getting bigger and this one’s getting smaller.

Sevan Matossian (00:22):

Oh, because of the shoulder.

Matthew Souza (00:25):

The shoulder hitch. Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (00:26):

Well, your skin looks good. Your skin looks like it’s made of porcelain.

Matthew Souza (00:28):

Thanks. It’s the lighting. Looks nice. It’s a new camera.

Sevan Matossian (00:33):

That guy Dave Castro came out with the video.

Matthew Souza (00:36):

Did he riveting.

Sevan Matossian (00:38):

Want to review it?

Matthew Souza (00:39):

Yeah, let’s do it.

Sevan Matossian (00:41):

Nothing better to do, Ernie. Good evening, Greg. What’s up dude? We’re a seven. That was great. Today, isn’t it? Does anyone get defensive for you? You’re like, oh my God, how dare you call him? Seven. How dare you s Yes. Talk to me. What’s up girl? A little overexposed. Your skin looks like porcelain too. These behind the scenes just keep getting better and better, dude. I know, right?

Matthew Souza (01:17):

They sure do.

Sevan Matossian (01:17):

Oh, shut it 30 burpees for being late. Oh, oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I should get 30 burpees. No, no. You know what it was, it just got scheduled wrong. It was a last minute show. It’s Dave’s fault.

Matthew Souza (01:30):

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dave was off normal schedule, threw everything off. Alright. Is that your

Sevan Matossian (01:37):

Fit shirt? Say that again? Yeah, you know the guy, our OnlyFans listener?

Matthew Souza (01:44):

Yeah,

Sevan Matossian (01:45):

With the giant hog. He made it for me.

Matthew Souza (01:47):

Oh really?

Sevan Matossian (01:47):

Yeah, he made ’em for the boys too.

Matthew Souza (01:50):

Oh, that’s awesome. Oh, it’s got a CEO in the back. Okay, cool. I thought it was the original.

Sevan Matossian (01:56):

Hey, look at this. Belling house made this for me, this skateboard for me two years ago.

Matthew Souza (02:02):

Really? Dude, that’s sick. That’s so dope. What size board is it? Do you know? Like an 8.5 or something? Yeah,

Sevan Matossian (02:17):

Probably perfect for Avi. He wants to ride it so bad.

Matthew Souza (02:21):

Yeah, that’s a cool skateboard. Now you got to hang that one up. I like that logo a lot.

Sevan Matossian (02:27):

I’m putting it back here with the weed and the chocolate

Matthew Souza (02:32):

Dick. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All the good stuff.

Sevan Matossian (02:34):

Chocolate dick weed, skateboard.

Matthew Souza (02:37):

Oh man.

Sevan Matossian (02:38):

I don’t know. Don’t you think skateboard’s kind of cheese dick? It’s like every podcaster wannabe cool dude has a skateboard.

Matthew Souza (02:44):

I mean, you’re asking the wrong guy. I got a soft spot for the skateboard, so I don’t think so personally, but

Sevan Matossian (02:49):

Alright, and who’s to say I’m not a cheese dick?

Matthew Souza (02:51):

Yeah, little cheese dick. Nothing wrong with that.

Sevan Matossian (02:54):

The Dave Castro. We can review February, 2024. The two best. Dave Castro interpreters in the business. How lucky are you guys here with you tonight To interpret anything? He says to correct the record for any time he gets squirrely. Get your Dave Castro all of oil Now. I don’t even know if it’s still in Stock Belt sold out. Oh, that’ll be in the news. Okay. I haven’t done the news yet today. I’ll be doing that right after. Here we go.

Dave Castro (03:23):

2024. We’re going to start off with comments as always. First comments at LDY 27 42 about time for an open hint, isn’t it? Yes it is. Yes, it, it’s,

Sevan Matossian (03:37):

We don’t need an open hint. We already know it’s lunges. 24.2 lunges. Lunges.

Matthew Souza (03:45):

Yep. That’s a pretty good hint.

Sevan Matossian (03:48):

We don’t know the location for 24.3 yet.

Matthew Souza (03:51):

No.

Sevan Matossian (03:52):

Wouldn’t that be cool if it was at my house?

Matthew Souza (03:54):

Yep. Yeah, I figured. We might probably know that by now, but yeah, it’d be cool. That would be dope. At the sev barn

Sevan Matossian (04:03):

Or somewhere near me so I could go to it.

Matthew Souza (04:06):

Yeah. Where’s the first one at?

Sevan Matossian (04:12):

I don’t know where it at. I guess we know who’s competing in the first one, right? It’s Fi Kowski.

Matthew Souza (04:16):

Yeah, we know who’s competing in, but I know got wrapped

Sevan Matossian (04:18):

Is Anne and there’s another boy, Noah. Ricky.

Matthew Souza (04:29):

Is it Noah?

Sevan Matossian (04:30):

I don’t know. I forget Ows. And you could find this out. I’m just waiting for someone in the comments to tell

Matthew Souza (04:36):

Me. Just stalling until somebody puts it in there. She’s just saying names Chandler. Chandler. Yeah, Travis Mayer. He’s going down

Sevan Matossian (04:47):

The list. What’s the deal with Travis? Is he going to the wrong show? Jeff

Matthew Souza (04:51):

Adler. Adler, of course. Gosh, gosh. I know you guys were looking it up. I looked it up and found out at the same time as you did. Yeah. Jeff Adler, Alex Gaza, Brent Baki and Alex Rap. That’s a good lineup. That’s a great lineup.

Sevan Matossian (05:08):

Alex rap. That’s right. Susan, just let the cat out of the bag. She’s going through transition.

Matthew Souza (05:14):

Oh, say Alex.

Sevan Matossian (05:17):

That was supposed to, you were supposed to wait for the news.

Matthew Souza (05:18):

Oh shit. God, I broke the story.

Sevan Matossian (05:23):

Alright, here we go. He’s not going to give us a clue. Here we go.

Dave Castro (05:28):

I have a really good one that I captured the other day that I think I should post this week. I’m debating if I will or will not, but I’m just worried that it might be too obvious. It might really tell the world what the workout is, so I’m debating if I’m going to do it, probably

Sevan Matossian (05:47):

Will this. That’s bullshit. His clues are horrible. Let’s face it. His clues are horrible.

Matthew Souza (05:52):

Yeah, I was going to say less lunges is too obvious, but yeah, his clues are. Yeah,

Sevan Matossian (05:59):

I’ve never heard of anyone guessing from his clues.

Matthew Souza (06:02):

The best one was that ball that went back and forth. He knew it was going to be like a couplet.

Sevan Matossian (06:07):

Oh, is that what it was?

Matthew Souza (06:08):

That’s what I interpreted it as because it’s like you going down and it’s like a couplet

Sevan Matossian (06:11):

And was it right? Were you right?

Matthew Souza (06:13):

I think so. I think it was a couplet, but there was a bunch of twists to it. And by the way, knowing that it’s two movements doesn’t give you much. I mean, it gives you something, but it doesn’t give you much.

Sevan Matossian (06:22):

Right. Yeah. Philip Kelly, their shit. Yeah, and Philip had to erase the first thing he wrote.

Matthew Souza (06:29):

Yeah.

Dave Castro (06:31):

This week, but not exactly sure what day at Adrenaline Junkie. 8 6 1 8.

Sevan Matossian (06:39):

The best thing about the clues is when people complain, it’s so unprofessional that he does it on his own Instagram. That’s the part I like. I’m already ready to fight those people on training.

Matthew Souza (06:47):

Yeah, you’re like, oh yeah, A dead rabbit on a railroad tracks would be much more professional on the games Instagram.

Sevan Matossian (06:52):

Yeah. Yeah. Put ’em up there with Taylor Swift.

Dave Castro (06:58):

Hi, Shay from CrossFit. So Flow. I’m hoping that this year the open workouts, especially the first one, will be more welcoming for all the new members that just started their CrossFit journey last year. It started with ring muscle up and it took a lot of work of us coaches and owners who explained that it’s scalable and that they could take part of the open, the shuttle run and the burpee. Pullups is one that works so good with the newer athlete as an example. Now that the first part of the open is just the beginning of the season for whoever want to really compete. I’m hoping that CFHQ are changing the workout to accommodate the majority of the members that are doing it to celebrate fitness. PS waiting on that olive oil of yours to arrive. Thanks for the order. I’m assuming you order some. If you didn’t, tdc meile.com. That’s where you can order it.

Sevan Matossian (07:31):

Tdc mercantile.com. Tdc mercantile.com. She must have just ordered it. They deliver fast.

Matthew Souza (07:38):

Yeah. Mercantile. It’s so

Sevan Matossian (07:40):

Weird. I think he’s on 1.25. No. Yeah, he’s on 1.25. Johann Johann Lopez talk about identity crisis. Johann’s like a European name and Lopez is Latinos for Trump.

Dave Castro (07:57):

Thank you for the order at Adrenaline junkie. 8 6 1 8. So yes, the first workout will be very welcoming to all athletes, new and older athlete or existing experienced athletes. Let’s just say the difficulty in this one and in all of them won’t come through the complexity of the programming, but through the intensity with which you attack the actual workout or

Sevan Matossian (08:27):

Tet. Let’s hold him to that.

Matthew Souza (08:31):

To what? To which statement? The last one that he made. Yeah,

Sevan Matossian (08:33):

Let’s rewind that. That’s pretty good. That’s pretty good. That’s some shit right there. That’s good. Make it clip. Yeah.

Dave Castro (08:38):

Difficulty in this one and in all of them won’t come through the complexity of the programming, but through the intensity with which you attack the actual workout or test or whatever you want to call it. So it’ll be something very encouraging of people participating in. It’s hard to talk about it without saying too much, but that’s all I’m going to say on that one at this point. As Fernando

Sevan Matossian (09:05):

He said very encouraging. Do you think he was about to say inclusive, but he is like, fuck that word. I don’t want to trigger my boy se

Matthew Souza (09:11):

I hope not. I hope not. The open’s always been, always been inclusive. Always. It’s never not been

Dave Castro (09:17):

Okay. So it’s not the drug use, it’s because he openly talks about it. He’s talking about Hiller. It’s not that he openly talks about it. It’s that he, yeah. So it is because he admitted his usage. So if all these athletes were admitting that they’re using, then they’d all get disqualified too. So Hiller is a unique example. He’s one of the very few people who’s vocal about breaking our rule. So we punished him for it. So what is,

Sevan Matossian (09:39):

First of all, I don’t think he was punished. He was just told he couldn’t participate. I don’t think that’s a punishment. And if everyone was doing it, you wouldn’t kick everyone out. That’s not true. That’s not true at all. If everyone was doing it, then they would change the rules.

Matthew Souza (09:55):

If you find out the all top 20 males and all top 20 female were all, I’m

Sevan Matossian (09:59):

Even saying let’s say just 20,000. Hey, if everyone’s like, Hey, if 20,000 people sent emails in and we’re like, Hey, we’re not doing the open and because we’re juiced up, they’d either have a juiced up category. It’s like the planes, when they told you you had to wear masks, the only reason why fucking that rule lasted so long is because people did it. Everyone was like, fuck you we’re not flying. They’d been like, alright, fine. Come on.

Matthew Souza (10:21):

Yeah, a hundred percent. And they still did that in some cases. Yeah, you’re absolutely right.

Sevan Matossian (10:25):

So this all shit come on

Dave Castro (10:27):

The drug use and it’s the drug use and we only know about that because he’s talking about it at Samuel and I

Sevan Matossian (10:33):

Saw the And you don’t know. The only reason why we assume, which I do think it’s right, I’m not pushing back and saying they shouldn’t have booted him, but they still don’t know and knows

Matthew Souza (10:43):

Well it’s a no. They would have to test them and have it come out positive and gone through that due diligence.

Sevan Matossian (10:47):

Right. I don’t even know if Andrew knows. I know for all he knows, he could be getting some garbage and just be taking placebos. I don’t know if he even tested himself. Yeah,

Matthew Souza (10:55):

He had one hell of a placebo with that 600 pound fucking deadlift he did the other day.

Sevan Matossian (10:59):

Yeah, good point. Another new story you just stole from me. God damnit.

Matthew Souza (11:04):

Fuck. I’m sorry.

Dave Castro (11:05):

He just fucking pull 5 95 or 600 pounds. I didn’t realize he was so fucking strong. That’s impressive at Aday. Well, it makes sense why he’s so strong at Aday ASAs. Fernando, I just did yours at Samuel Marta Trainer Summit. Now we are talking, I’ve seen a lot of extreme BS diets, summits from CrossFit. Hey, but no summit’s about the most important thing CrossFit does training.

Sevan Matossian (11:31):

What BS summits has CrossFit done

Matthew Souza (11:33):

BS diet summits. What? Has there ever been a diet summit?

Sevan Matossian (11:40):

The only summits that I know there’s been affiliate summits and there’s been the health summits. Yeah, both. And I could see why you think it’s bs if you have an IQ under 69, which I think is imbecile, put you in the i bile category.

Dave Castro (11:57):

Okay. So I disagree with, I’ve seen a lot of extreme BS diets, summits from CrossFit, but no summits about the most important thing. CrossFit diet is training. I agree that we need to do some summits on training and we will get there.

Sevan Matossian (12:08):

Hey, all of those summits are, those health summits are a hundred percent relative to probably the most fundamental parts of what CrossFit is at the base of the pyramid, which is nutrition and being able to discern bullshit.

Matthew Souza (12:23):

Yeah,

Sevan Matossian (12:28):

I’d really like to know what he wants. He wants a summit where we all sit around and talk about what’s the best way to coach the overhead squad. I’m not poo-pooing that, but it sounds like it’s another guy. Maybe throw this guy in the wooly camp who just doesn’t know what CrossFit is.

Matthew Souza (12:43):

Yeah, definitely. I just dunno why he had to trash the other one to also say he wanted a trainer one. They’re both great. Why would you? You know what I mean?

Sevan Matossian (12:53):

Yeah.

Matthew Souza (12:53):

It doesn’t make sense.

Dave Castro (12:54):

Maddie Nagel 5 7 0 9. Do you find it difficult to not be as involved as, so I read these exactly as I’ve written and sometimes they don’t make sense as written. Do you find it difficult to not be as involved as programming as before? I know you’re still overseeing, but not quite the creation role you had before. Interested to hear how you found that transition.

Sevan Matossian (13:14):

I want to say something here too. Last week or the week before, he’s like, I’m really excited about programming. I’m really excited. I was at Dicky’s. Let me tell you something. He’s as involved as he’s ever been. I think. So I think I’m wondering if he’s going to walk that back here.

Dave Castro (13:31):

Well, the transition a year and a half ago was very sudden. So I went from programming everything all the time to not programming at all and working back in. And let me even say even back then, there were a lot of stages. I was not programming, so especially age groups and stuff I was overseeing. The big difference when I came back and got re-involved with B and the team is he had by my departure, had to program individual and team stuff. And last year he programmed individuals in teams in the other stages. And as I was coming back, just advised and worked with and supported him. Now having this full, I’m completely back on that team, working closely with everyone there into this season. The open is heavily involved there and it felt like in a place to where my creative contribution is present in a collaborative team-like environment, and with the games with quarterfinals and semifinals, again team, the team did it with collaboration with feedback. I provided feedback and guidance with the games. I’m definitely finding myself I’m going to be heavily involved even at a creative level. I started working on the schedule and started working on the flow and just got really sucked in.

Sevan Matossian (14:40):

That’s what it was. Remember, he’s like, I’m so excited by the schedule. I got something crazy. I mean, he was like, he pumped. He is pumped.

Matthew Souza (14:50):

Yeah. 10 fired up for Dave for sure. And I imagine he has total autonomy over the logistics, the schedule, the competition, the events, all of it. Whatever they’re calling him now,

Sevan Matossian (15:00):

He’s as involved as he’s ever been. That’s going to be my take

Matthew Souza (15:03):

For sure.

Dave Castro (15:05):

We’ll all work together, but I’m definitely enjoying kind of coming in with the games and leaning into that at New Western Hunter. Could the CrossFit website start posting links for the lectures or the presenters from the health summit? Yes. I don’t know when they’re going to do it. Oh,

Sevan Matossian (15:20):

Sorry. He also insinuated that they already have these quarterfinals and semifinals done kind of,

Matthew Souza (15:26):

Yeah. Sounds like they got the first portion of the season laid out at least.

Sevan Matossian (15:30):

Yeah. I didn’t even understand this last question,

Dave Castro (15:35):

But we do have plans to do that. Okay, so

Sevan Matossian (15:39):

What

Dave Castro (15:40):

Could the CrossFit website start posting links for the lectures or the presenters from the health summit? Yes. I don’t know when they’re going to do it, but we do have plans to do that.

Sevan Matossian (15:47):

Oh, you could probably answer that is

Matthew Souza (15:50):

I can’t unfortunately.

Sevan Matossian (15:55):

Do you know? Or you just can’t say or?

Matthew Souza (15:57):

No, I have no idea about the posting schedule. I know for a fact they have great video of each speech and each speaker along with their slides and everything else. So I don’t know what the schedule will look like. I would imagine that they’re probably going to space that out quite a bit though. And I think they’ll trickle ’em in one by one. I think he’ll get maybe Nicole’s opener. And then you might get Rhonda Patrick way later.

Sevan Matossian (16:20):

Why are they doing that? They have such shit media that they need to really stretch everything out. I’m like, why aren’t they just dumping shit? Why aren’t they just like,

Matthew Souza (16:28):

That’s a fucking great question. I do know this for a fact and I can’t talk about this. The ruck with goruck, the ruck presented by GORUCK was phenomenal. And when I was talking to the team, CrossFits media team, they were like, dude, the shots we got were incredible. And because they were up super early in the morning and there was no one else out there, they went on this ruck around Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin. They were telling me that they were doing door open van shots and catching a whole trail of everybody rucking up the hill with a beautiful skyline background of Austin and stuff like that. As the sun was coming up, they were really excited about the footage they got from that. So I’m surprised we haven’t seen any of that yet already either too. But who knows?

Sevan Matossian (17:13):

Alright,

Matthew Souza (17:14):

Who knows what type of red tape they’re dealing with. But I do know that you will all see it. And I do know that they did have plans to trickle each speaker out over time.

Sevan Matossian (17:20):

One of the most popular videos in the history of CrossFit was from one of Greg’s health summits. Chuck fg, Carl Jung fg.

Matthew Souza (17:30):

Jason fg.

Sevan Matossian (17:31):

Jason fg. Yeah. Yeah. And that thing is still just rolling, getting big numbers, millions of views. Yeah. Yep.

Dave Castro (17:40):

Okay. So that’s it for comments. I have my oil, olive oil site going. There’s olive oil there, tdc mercantile.com. But recently, and I mentioned this on the seven podcast, I made some belts. I had this big black leather hide and I made some belts, sold those, sold out pretty quickly. And from that, I still have a lot of that hide left. Not in belt length, but in smaller sizes. So I played around with a couple other things I’ve made over the course of the last week and a half. I just posted some key chains, which are super cool. Those are almost sold out now. And I posted some coasters the other night, which went really fast too. They sold out quickly. So from one big hide, I plan on doing one hide every five to six weeks. So from this black one that the belts came from, got belts out of. That’s first goal. And then second with the rest of it, I’ll do some key chains and coasters. Someone just emailed me and asked why I don’t do wallets. Well, I can do wallets, but that’s just another stage of commitment. And the thing is, with this leather high, the type of leather that I’m using for the belts, it’s really thick. You don’t do wallets with that type of leather. So the wallet thing is a different type of journey altogether.

Sevan Matossian (18:48):

He made me the most beautiful AirPod cover case for my AirPods that clipped onto my belt. And I used it forever until they switched to the AirPod Pros. It was dope. And I would love for him to make those. It looked like it was really tedious. Dave made a video showing his sewing room. He has a detached sewing room at his house here in California. And it is a really cool spot. And whenever he talks like this, I always picture in my mind him in there just sewing. You know what I mean? It’s kind of a funky thing. He needs some glasses that hang on his nose and shit. Yeah, that’s definitely, that goes a pencil behind his ear. A light. Yeah. And a shirt. A little shirt with a pocket that’s got a little steel ruler in it. The video he made showing him making the is cool for anyone who hasn’t seen it. It’s cool. It gives you a different vibe about Dave.

Dave Castro (19:49):

So with the open announcements, I’ve talked about this recently. I am definitely doing the first one, and over the course of the last few days, I’ve been setting up the people who, the individuals who will do week two and three are going to be, and I’m really excited. They’re on board and let’s just say they’re not CrossFit games athletes. They’re not CrossFit personalities in terms of how we, they’re not like myself or other HQ personalities. They’re outside of our bubble, but involved in CrossFit. And honestly, they’re bigger names than any of the athletes and anyone in our circle. So very soon we will, I hope maybe in the next week or so we’ll announce who they are, but have two really cool people lined up. Two announce weeks, two and three that I’m interesting.

Sevan Matossian (20:41):

Whoa. Mario Lopez racist. Amazing. That would be amazing, dude.

Matthew Souza (20:50):

Mario Lopez, bro,

Sevan Matossian (20:53):

That would be amazing.

Matthew Souza (20:56):

Oh, that’s funny. Yeah. Jocko I think is a good guess. I don’t think Don Falls’ is going to do it. Tyson BeIN’s a good guess, but I don’t think he’ll do it.

Sevan Matossian (21:08):

I’m trying to think. Dave is friends with Post Malone.

Matthew Souza (21:13):

That would be cool. That would be totally fucking random. Does Post Malone even work out?

Sevan Matossian (21:18):

I don’t know. He looked at the Super Bowl. He looked pretty lean.

Matthew Souza (21:22):

He looked like he was getting healthy.

Sevan Matossian (21:23):

Yeah. Oh, Rick Ross. Wow. Wow. Rick Ross would be crazy. That

Matthew Souza (21:27):

Would be nuts, dude.

Sevan Matossian (21:29):

That would be crazy. Wow.

Matthew Souza (21:33):

That’s funny.

Sevan Matossian (21:35):

God, it better be good, dude, because I’m so bummed. If it’s not Dave, it better be good.

Matthew Souza (21:40):

Yeah. Interesting. They have to be guest celebrity people too. That’s the only way you can make up for replacing Dave.

Sevan Matossian (21:49):

For those of you who believe that there are astronauts in a space station, one year they did 3, 2, 1. Go live from the Space Station in Madison in the tennis stadium. That was crazy. One of the astronauts from Outer Space started

Matthew Souza (22:01):

It. Yeah, that’s cool.

Sevan Matossian (22:03):

Oh, Marjorie Taylor Green. That would be dope. Oh, Trump Jr. Holy shit.

Matthew Souza (22:09):

That would be crazy, dude.

Sevan Matossian (22:13):

Oh my God. Alright. Alright, here we go. Well, we need to think about that. Here we go. The thing is, he said it was someone bigger than any of the athletes.

Matthew Souza (22:30):

Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (22:31):

So it’s someone who’s transcended our space,

Matthew Souza (22:36):

But still is involved enough to do an open announcement.

Sevan Matossian (22:38):

Oh, what about that WE Guy?

Matthew Souza (22:42):

Oh, interesting. Well, since we don’t know his name, I don’t know if it’s a good pick.

Sevan Matossian (22:46):

The champ, he’s huge amongst 13 WWE boys people. Yeah. Okay.

Matthew Souza (22:52):

Could be an interesting play. Could be an interesting

Sevan Matossian (22:56):

Play. I’m going to go with that. I’m going to go with Post Malone and the WWE E guy.

Matthew Souza (23:01):

Wow. Okay. I’m going Jocko,

Sevan Matossian (23:04):

I think Jocko’s a good guess.

Matthew Souza (23:06):

I’m going Jocko. Fuck. I don’t know who else.

Sevan Matossian (23:15):

Oh, John Cena. Wow. He does CrossFit. Oh, SETHS, Seth Raws. Yeah.

Matthew Souza (23:22):

Yeah. Okay. That might be,

Sevan Matossian (23:24):

Oh, maybe Danny Spiegel. She’s bigger than CrossFit. That’s true.

Matthew Souza (23:27):

That’s right. Okay. Instagram personality. Yep. Yeah. I don’t know, man. I don’t know. I’m going definitely with Jocko as one of ’em, and I’m lost for the second one. My God fucking good though.

Sevan Matossian (23:43):

If they had a general do it, that would be awesome.

Matthew Souza (23:47):

That would be

Sevan Matossian (23:47):

Cool. A general from the Army would be Sweet

Matthew Souza (23:52):

John Cino, but you can’t see him.

Sevan Matossian (23:56):

All right.

Dave Castro (23:58):

Excited to share with the world when we’re ready for that. And last piece, Daniel Chaffee, he’s the International country liaison for hq. He has a thriving gym, CrossFit move in Paris, France. He has like a thousand members at that gym. Then he has a couple other gyms in Burdo, and he brought his whole team, or nine people. He brought nine of his trainers out here, and they spent a couple of days. We hiked around the ranch. I showed ’em the ranch. They did workout. They worked out yesterday. And then today they came back and I had a really good time with them. I gave ’em some olive oil and some bread that my wife makes. And I also, I made them some leather gifts, little partying gifts for their, Hey,

Sevan Matossian (24:38):

Dave’s wife has a bread making website. She has a website where she sells bread. She’s had it for a long time. Oh really? Yeah, and I think she sells soaps there too. And we get bread from her when we get bread. We don’t get bread very often, but when we get bread, we get it from her. It is wild. I’ve had it. You’ve had it? Yeah, at my house. Yeah. Yeah. You guys, is it nuts or a lot?

Matthew Souza (25:01):

Yeah, it’s great. Yeah. Yeah, it’s really good. Remember, you had a really good timing.

Sevan Matossian (25:06):

Yeah, it is. Something else

Matthew Souza (25:08):

Bred from Dave.

Sevan Matossian (25:10):

Dave is the CrossFit. Jesus. I don’t know if that’s blasphemy, but I’ll go with it.

Dave Castro (25:19):

That crew, it’s good to see them. And they are actually running one of the semifinals too, and in that they have a community event aspect. So we have these community events that we’re doing with existing events, kind of community partnerships that CrossFit’s doing with some of the big existing events. And they are one of the community events in this new world of partnering with some of these existing events. So excited to work with him. It was cool seeing them. Cool, having him out and hosting him for a couple days.

Sevan Matossian (25:48):

By the way, I got to hang out with Daniel too while he was here. He’s head of affiliates in Europe, a great guy. I hung out with the entire team. I hung out with him, went out to eat with him a few times and it was a blast. Daniel is a class act. The whole team was diehard. They invited me out to film, behind the scenes at the French throw down. I had an amazing sponsor that was potentially lined up that would be is a massive company. Massive. And unfortunately today I spoke to Dave about it and it got put to bed and I understand why. I completely, completely,

Matthew Souza (26:31):

That’s a bummer.

Sevan Matossian (26:32):

Yeah. Understand why maybe we can get that sponsor to work with us in other places. So I’m not sure which behind the scenes going to do, but we do need a big massive sponsor for that.

Dave Castro (26:48):

That’s it. It’s about to get really start to move really quickly as this games machine picks up and goes off in a couple of weeks. We have the first announcement, so if you haven’t signed up yet, sign up for the open. It’s going to be a special open, and I’m really excited about it.

Sevan Matossian (27:05):

It was not Snickers, but I would so take Snickers. Listen, it’s the

Dave Castro (27:10):

Protein bar version. Okay.

Sevan Matossian (27:11):

Dude, I would love it if Snickers would sponsor behind the scenes. That would be crazy. Be nice. It will be the biggest behind the scenes if me and the team do the behind the scenes for the semifinals. All four. It will surpass views of the most viewed content in CrossFit this year, which is already going to be the games behind the scene. It’s going to be the most minutes. Watch by far. Yeah. Wrigley’s Gum would be good. Anyone, dude, marble Lights Gamble. Yeah, anything would be good. Glass dildos.com, whatever.

Dave Castro (27:49):

Hey, whoever cuts the

Sevan Matossian (27:50):

Check. Yeah, yeah. I’ll bring it to you. Yeah. Crest. Yeah, crest. Anyone.

Dave Castro (27:56):

Big league Chew. Then as always, post your comments or thoughts into the comments. Thanks.

Sevan Matossian (28:03):

What’s crazy too, is this sponsor though? Good job, Dave. What’s crazy too, is the sponsor is someone that, yeah, bud Light. I do Bud Light. Anyone who cuts a check. But the sponsor was someone who I’m so intimate with their product. I use their product like crazy. Like crazy. Oh, I brushed with Matian twice or three times a day. I can’t wait to get that shit in your hands. You guys are going to be so stoked. Do you know? It tickles my heart because we have kids toothpaste on the counter and my kids don’t even use it anymore. They just use Matian.

Dave Castro (28:39):

They know what it’s,

Sevan Matossian (28:40):

Yeah, it’s dope. It’s so good. Can’t have to try it. Alright, tomorrow I’m excited to have Kevin Ogar on. I haven’t spoke to him in many, many years. He will be running the, he’s the director of the CrossFit Games for the Adaptive. I think he’s part co-owner of Wheel Wad. Tremendous asset to the community. Been here forever. I’m going to see if I can get him to tell his story of how he ended up in a wheelchair. It’s probably something that a lot of people, those of us who’ve been around forever, remember very, very, very well. And for those of you who don’t, there’s even an Ogar documentary that the media team made. Carrie Peterson made. That might be on YouTube. Let me see if I can find that. Ogar documentary CrossFit. I don’t see it. Oh, oh, interesting. The trailer’s here. I’ll play you guys a little bit of the trailer here. Check this out.

Speaker 4 (29:50):

If I could go back in time and warn myself about what would happen when I lift that barbell, would I change anything.
