Mattew Souza (00:02):
Oh, things just got a hell of a lot. Interesting. We wanted the race and we got it. This as we come into the final event between Laura and Tia, the showdown we wanted to see. I’m waiting for my buddies to get on here, but we’re going to bring up the women’s leaderboard and the show will roll on. Give me one second. Oh, here we go. All right, good. You guys showed up. I was rolling it live, baby. I was just going to rock for being here. What do we think? Can we bring up, let’s start with the women. We’ll bring up that women’s leaderboard. This is the race we wanted at the end. Mr. John Young. Welcome. You’re muted. What’s up guys? Got Jason blowing his
John Young (00:53):
Nose in the,
Mattew Souza (00:56):
Can you hear me? Yeah, I got you. You got me.
John Young (01:02):
You were just in Not anymore.
Mattew Souza (01:04):
Yeah. Okay, so it is tied. I mean, can it get any more exciting right now? Oh, I know. Way out. This is exactly what we wanted. The Tia and Laura Showdown coming down to the final event tied on fourth, Laura Horvath at six 80. Tia Clara Tomi in second place right now, but also tied with 680 points. Gary, we go 555 points in third place. Emma Lawson with 555 points in fourth place, Alex Gaza, fifth place, 510 points and we got in six with 500 points. Is this the most exciting women’s finale that we’ve seen in competition period? Oh, it’s going to be intense and the last event is going
JR Howell (01:55):
To be a clean event of some kind. Guess who’s than Tia Claire? To me, I think I’ve been known to clean a
Mattew Souza (02:03):
Good amount of weight. I mean, you couldn’t have painted a better picture for this finale right here, Jr. How are you feeling about this? What’d you think about that last event and in our lineup of a women here,
JR Howell (02:19):
I thought it was really cool to see how much the handstand walk mattered. The fact that they did it going to the pylon and leaving the pylon was major. So glad that it wasn’t just one handstand walk and then run, run back to the box. So it really, really made the handstand walk matter a lot along with the box, which was cool.
Mattew Souza (02:38):
Yeah, and someone made a fantastic point. Second place is going to cost you 200 K. I mean they’re going to leave it all on the line there. John, what’d you think about the event? I
JR Howell (02:53):
Like the event. I think it’s a different event
John Young (02:57):
Completely. I think some people got bailed out. I think some people got advantaged towards it. I mean, I guess it’s the same two flips of a coin, but I mean it’s a handstand walking event.
Mattew Souza (03:13):
Go ahead. Who was this good for? Who was the transition from the peg board to the hands Sand walk due to the rain? Who benefited the most from this?
John Young (03:20):
I think Gabby Mc. Think the two girls behind her or that she’s in the running with are Emma Lawson and Alex Gaza. Two of the best pullers, both like Emma Lawson’s Ring Must up Queen Alex Gaza is a pull up, has pulling power for days and Gabby doesn’t. Gabby’s struggled in high volume pulling or hard pulling implements before, and so when you take that completely out, that could have been a 13th, 14th place for Gabby and now it ends up being an eighth place, so yeah.
Mattew Souza (03:56):
Crazy. Chase, welcome to the show, brother. Thank you for joining us. Hey
Chase Ingraham (04:00):
Boy. Yeah, thank you,
Mattew Souza (04:01):
Dude. How do you feel about this women’s race leading into the final, isn’t
Chase Ingraham (04:05):
It? Man, I tell you what, regardless of all how we got to this point after just the tumultuous four days of rain and athlete or lead changes and programming changes, it’s absolutely incredible that we’re sitting here right now getting a tide race between rarely ever does the hype of a storyline coming in match up? Rarely.
Mattew Souza (04:27):
Yeah,
Chase Ingraham (04:28):
We couldn’t have painted a better picture going, Hey
John Young (04:29):
Guys, right now they’re playing the rocky soundtrack before the last event and it’s very, very fitting. We’re talking about this epic battle and we got the Rocky four soundtrack going on. That’s awesome.
Mattew Souza (04:43):
Perfect. Chase, anything surprise you about the event with our lineup of women here we’re looking at the top six.
Chase Ingraham (04:49):
Honestly, is it weird to say Tia? Tia isn’t traditionally known to have the best handstand walks and her handstand walks, they
John Young (05:00):
Were pretty darn great.
Chase Ingraham (05:01):
I’ve never seen her handstand walks look that good before. Usually she’s a bit scorpion. Her head’s looking up, she’s laboring a bit. Her overhead position isn’t the highest of quality. Like a Daniel Brandon, right? We’re comparing to that and she was incredible. Absolutely incredible. I expected maybe a fourth or fifth for T based off who’s in this event with the girls, not a second place and not like that. That was super impressive. Look at that. She’s not even looking forward usually. She used to do that. She’s looking straight down. Look how vertical she is. Yeah, her feet are forward, but that’s just to get momentum going forward. I mean, I’ve never seen her look that good on handstand walks,
Mattew Souza (05:43):
Which is crazy to think about, right? Just having the baby, you think she just wants to get back to where she was and this clearly shows she’s progressing, she’s getting better. She’s not stagnant. She’s working on weaknesses still. I mean it’s incredible. Yeah, she’s incredible. jr. Any thoughts on that?
JR Howell (06:02):
No. Yeah, I agree with Chase a hundred percent. When I was watching her handstand walk it, the first thing I noticed was how much more stacked she was. Just her shoulder positioning just looked so much better than I’d seen it before.
Mattew Souza (06:15):
Yeah. I just love the storyline for these two as it continues to build because with 200 grand on the line, these women are going
Chase Ingraham (06:23):
To war.
Mattew Souza (06:25):
There’s going to be Jerry, you saw one fist bump with the deadlift. There’s zero fist bumps after this. They’re getting after that money. They’re not going to be friends coming into this final event here.
Chase Ingraham (06:37):
Okay,
Mattew Souza (06:37):
So some notable stuff in the event. I think we have a shot of it. It looked like Bethany Flores took a little spill. Yeah,
John Young (06:47):
Humpty dumped eat herself.
Mattew Souza (06:49):
Wow. And I would like to note that from the angle that I saw, it looked like it had nothing to do with the equipment or the rain.
John Young (06:57):
No, she just tried to stand up too fast and fail
Mattew Souza (07:01):
Toppled over backwards. How does that happen, Jay? You had those same kind of squishy pile boxes at the gym there. Is that different than the wooden blocks? Did that play a factor into it or any call?
JR Howell (07:13):
Yeah, I mean if you land too close to the edge, you for sure cannot gather yourself to stand up straight. But I don’t know. I mean I think when you’re going fast, things like that just happens sometimes.
Mattew Souza (07:25):
Yeah. Chase, how do you think she’s feeling after that? It kind of looked like it.
Chase Ingraham (07:29):
Yeah, I didn’t see how she landed, but you go flat off the back 30, it’s not even 30 inches in the air. That’s where her feet were. Her feet were at 30 inches. Her head was like eight feet in the air as she’s coming off the box, maybe not eight feet, but
John Young (07:45):
Can we show the video? Can you pull it? I’m trying to get it. Just give me a sec. Thank you
Chase Ingraham (07:50):
Ga. And what JR to your question Jr is with those soft boxes, they’re already unstable. The higher they get, the more unstable they become. Now you put that on a grass surface and I’m not saying you should have put to something else, it’s just unstable by nature no matter what surface it’s on. And when you’re going fast, you land on the edge, you throw your hips forward to open up aggressively and that you’ll see some people lean back to do that. It was like the perfect storm.
Mattew Souza (08:14):
And right here we have it. She stands up and you could already tell
Chase Ingraham (08:17):
She’s already losing her balance. Yeah.
Mattew Souza (08:19):
Yep. She’s trying to push that hip through, get that full extension at the top and it looked like she lost the footing there and she is already going down.
Chase Ingraham (08:26):
Her feet do slip. Oh, her feet do slip. Watch, watch. So look at where her foot position is as she comes up a little bit and shins, her shins will slide forward. See
Mattew Souza (08:43):
There? Oh boy. I think
John Young (08:45):
She landed on her
Mattew Souza (08:46):
Heels
John Young (08:47):
And then that already put her off balance and then she started falling back and then how wet it was, I think she slipped as she was falling.
Chase Ingraham (08:53):
Yeah,
John Young (08:54):
Correct. And then play it full so people can kind of see her fall and then we don’t see her. She’s gone. Oh great.
Chase Ingraham (09:03):
Camera work by the team. They just cover that one up and move on by
John Young (09:07):
Pops back up,
Chase Ingraham (09:08):
She pops right back up and it probably jumps a foot higher on the next one once that adrenaline kicks in after a miss like that, I’m glad she’s okay. I mean I hope she’s okay, but yeah. What does that do to you as a
JR Howell (09:22):
Competitor? Chase? I mean does she feel it at that point or?
Chase Ingraham (09:26):
Yeah, unless she broke both of her arms falling back to try to brace herself, which is the worst thing you could do when you’re falling backwards like that. Like I said, it’s a shot of adrenaline. She probably did four faster
JR Howell (09:36):
Jumps
Chase Ingraham (09:37):
After that first one than she’d ever have. Right. You’re riding a high, you’re like, okay, you do a quick assessment, you’re like, am I damaged? No. And then you’re like, you just get that shot of adrenaline, which could help or hurt depending on how you pace the handstand walks too. Definitely. And we hope that
JR Howell (09:55):
Bethany Chavin is all right from there.
Chase Ingraham (09:57):
Okay. Clean it up a little bit with these
JR Howell (10:00):
Paid questions. This one’s for JR Anthony
Chase Ingraham (10:03):
Jr. Was the
JR Howell (10:04):
Handstand walk a close equal to the peg board? I don’t really know what you mean by equal. The movements are very, very different from what they demand. Muscularly and John kind of already went into that, but time-wise, handstand Walt probably took a lot longer time actually. Most of those athletes would’ve gone touch and go up and down the peg board in 30 to 40 seconds. The handstand walk with the run and turnaround, both handstand walks were taking a little longer than that, so it was pretty comparable, but it’s just a lot different with what it demands.
Chase Ingraham (10:42):
Jr do you actually like this reprogrammed event better than the original? Based off everything we’ve done leading up to this point,
JR Howell (10:51):
Yeah. Not knowing the finale. I would say that adding this handstand walk in and removing an upper body pull probably helps balance a little bit of the programming.
Mattew Souza (11:00):
Awesome.
John Young (11:01):
I think I would’ve preferred putting the handstand walk-in where the rope was supposed to be instead of doing nothing during that event and then keeping the pegboards as is. As far as an ideal programming roundabout, you’re way more on the programming train than I am though, JR. What would you think about that? If they handstand walked
JR Howell (11:19):
To the
John Young (11:19):
Sandbags in the dual and then they pegboard these ones?
JR Howell (11:25):
Yeah, I mean that would’ve been fine. And actually this is something that I said yesterday. I imagine all these events had a contingency plan going in and they may have known, well, we can’t put the handstand walk here yesterday because that’s the contingency plan for the pegboard tomorrow.
John Young (11:42):
That’s fair.
JR Howell (11:44):
Well, I think that’s something we need to think about that. I’m sure all of them had a backup and maybe just a backup for some of them were, Hey, if this element gets taken out, it just taken out. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to do that On something like today’s where you take something out and you just have running in box jumps, you probably need something else in there. I was just really excited. I know Chase has talked about this before, seeing a peg board outside for the first time since it was initially programmed for pedal to the metal, seeing that backdrop on Zeus would’ve just been so sick to see. So it’s kind of unfortunate they didn’t get to do it this year, so hopefully they’ll do it next year.
Mattew Souza (12:23):
Yeah. Caroline, Morris. Morris. Morris, Morris. Caleb, help me out. Maybe I thought you were going to click it off there. We need a Laura and Tia poll. Yeah we do. Let’s get that up. That’s alright.
John Young (12:37):
I’ll throw it up.
Mattew Souza (12:38):
Thank you. Thank you. And then our final one here, Alex, I feel like someone mentioned the weather. Yes, Alex, thank you. Our official weather person here and it did play a factor. I’m not going to knock it out. You were right. Came in hot with that and it’s definitely been predominant throughout these events. Okay, so before we, did they announce the last workout yet? I was just about to ask that. I don’t think we do. I don’t think we do. No, not yet.
John Young (13:10):
Somebody alluded to maybe knowing in our group chat, but I don’t think that’s actually what it is present. No, I did see though as I was walking around Vanner Village, they had one of those Gator four by fours or whatever driving around and they were filled with C 70 money bars. So you know how last year when they did the grace at the end and the last barbell was that green money barbell? They had a bunch of those but they were the C 70 SBAR just lined up. No chalks. I’m guessing they haven’t been used. Haven’t been used yet. I imagine those will probably come into play at the end of this or for this event,
JR Howell (13:50):
What do you guys think from a what’s left standpoint? Let’s just assume that those barbells are going to be used. Do you think it’s single modality again, it was the heavy grace last year. Do you think it’s mixed? Do you think we’re squatting? Do you think we’re not? Remember up to this point we’ve only had 15 squats. So do you think that they’re doing something lighter? Do you think that it could be a double grace? I think Chase has said that before. Do you think it could just be like a squat cleaning jerk because they did clusters in the qualifier. What do you guys think from a prediction for the finale? I’m going to
John Young (14:25):
Say go ahead Chase.
Mattew Souza (14:27):
Well I said double grace just because they did heavy grace last year so they can double it up. It’s also called cleanup. So if I’m just taking literally for what the name is. Okay. I know JR has mentioned maybe thrusters at the end to get below parallel before the end of the weekend with some more barbell cycling below parallel but it doesn’t fit the name of the event, so I’m not going with that. But I like that one too. You know what, I’m going to think they took a page out of Crash cr. I bet we see a thruster ladder. Just going to throw it out there. Just be contrary.
JR Howell (15:05):
What in the cleanup just means cleaning up all the bodies? They’re going to be laying around on the ground up.
Mattew Souza (15:11):
That’s right. Yep. Clean up. Everybody on the bases cleans only with ascending weight. So the weight is going up. I feel like I’m guessing a Dave Cashel open hint right now.
JR Howell (15:22):
Wasn’t there squat clean ladder the first
John Young (15:24):
Year at Rogue? Yeah, Scott Panik one. Matt Fraser was second.
JR Howell (15:30):
That’d be cool if they kind of brought that back.
John Young (15:33):
That’s what I think it’s going to be. I think it’s going to be a heavier squat clean ladder. So like 10 reps at a weight, eight reps at a weight squat, clean pyramid almost. So no, I think it was just two cleans at each weight. So a squat, clean pyramid, but it ends on
Mattew Souza (15:49):
3, 5, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Like up and
John Young (15:53):
Down? No, no, no. Like 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and then it ends on 3 45.
Mattew Souza (15:59):
Okay. So we’ll see a ladder that goes up and then back down lower reps, higher weight and then you go right back to the start the reverse way.
John Young (16:07):
Yeah,
Mattew Souza (16:07):
And hopefully it balls a lot more hinging too there. So let’s hold onto the speculation for one moment. Let’s pick up the men’s leaderboard. Caleb, has that been updated yet? Let’s see where we’re at. I’m not sure yet. Lemme look. Okay. I think Hill made a pillar’s call here is going to be cleans in HD Situps. So if we see ’em start carving out some ghs, somebody made a comment JR and they said that your camera stuff is looking clean. That is probably the best quality picture we’ve ever had to you and the way the life’s getting right now, I mean it’s phenomenal, which is
JR Howell (16:39):
Ironic. I’m sitting in my truck at the gym, he
John Young (16:47):
Got that rich froning vibe. Hey, hey, hey, hey, I got news about it. The last event’s not going to be on the field. It’s going to be where the strong man did the Iron Bull pool. I did see them building up deadlift platforms or just platforms I guess in that area. I wasn’t sure if they were bringing wooden platforms to that spot or if they were taking them away, but I did see a bunch of those wooden platforms. So I mean I can go stacked up down there and see what it is right now, but I’d have to leave this spot.
Mattew Souza (17:21):
Okay, well hold tight. Let’s bring up that men’s leaderboard even. It’s not quite updated yet. What’s happening here? Some people are saying the stream is not good and other people are saying it’s fine. Is the stream working for you guys? Is it coming through? I mean for people watching, there’s been some mixed stuff, so hopefully
John Young (17:41):
If they’re talking about the rogue stream, it’s fine If they’re talking about our stream, I don’t think there’s an issue with it either.
Mattew Souza (17:47):
Yeah, I don’t have anything on this side and it seems like doing it makes me think
John Young (17:50):
It’s going to be something besides cleaning. Or do you think they just don’t want it to rain on the bars? Another movement. It’ll be clean, but another movement.
Mattew Souza (18:00):
Thank you guys. I mean would personally I would like to see this end in a little bit more of a race.
John Young (18:11):
Yeah, my source knows the event but he won’t tell me. So it’s incredibly frustrating.
Mattew Souza (18:16):
Yeah, sounds like Dayton a Mormon chick will brander. It’s fine. Don’t get insecure. Okay, well now I’m insecure. Thank you for that. Okay, so there’s still no update on the men’s leaderboard, but we do know the standings from that, correct? Do we have that one? Yes. I wonder why we’re having issues with that leaderboard. Was there something in there that,
John Young (18:45):
Not that I saw the big winner from that is Jeff Adler. As far as these top four guys go. Can you scroll down a little bit? If you could scroll down. I can kind of back in the napkin math, who’s going to be working. Okay, so Kakowski was a big winner. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Right here. Sakowski is going to be third. Jeff’s going to be second and Mellner iss still going to be first. Kakowski could get second but third place. I actually think the top three are going to be pretty solidified. So
Mattew Souza (19:24):
That’s it. They’re locked in place even though we don’t even know the next event. They’re not moving
John Young (19:28):
Unless Roman would have to beat Kakowski by six places, which I guess could happen. That’s not
Mattew Souza (19:35):
That much.
John Young (19:37):
Yeah, no, but Roman’s not like a Jeff Adler. If I say Jeff, it’s not that much. Right. But Roman and Kakowski are relatively the same in strength. You see what I’m saying? He’s not going to have a home run hit. That’s what I’m saying.
Mattew Souza (19:52):
Okay. Hey, could we check on that? Sorry Caleb to make you be there. Okay. Did they adjust Chandler’s score? Is that what they’re rolling with? Okay, well hold on, let’s stay here real quick since Caleb’s got ’em up. So the standings for event number eight is Victor Hoffer who picked him? You picked him John, didn’t you? No, that was Pedro.
John Young (20:11):
I did not. I think Pedro
Mattew Souza (20:12):
Pedro picked him. I picked Hoffer and Brandon. Wow. Not both of ’em. Okay, so first place Victor Hoffer, second place, Tudor Magna. Third place. Jay Crouch, fourth place D, pepper fifth. Ricky Ard. Sixth. Brent Bakowski seventh Lazar, ju eighth. Jeffrey Adler, number ninth, pat Vellner and 10th Bailey. Martin will round up the top 10 for event eight.
John Young (20:40):
Yeah. D and Pepper. That’s an amazing finish for D and Pepper. On the heat one app picked Pat Vellner for this event and it’s going to be my worst finish. Pat Vellner on a handstand walking box. Jump workout is going to be my worst finish.
Chase Ingraham (20:55):
Why did you pick Vellner for a handstand workout?
John Young (20:59):
There’s no obstacles there man. I was just thinking upper
Chase Ingraham (21:03):
Shoulder to overhead stability and Sta
John Young (21:06):
He was fine. He could have pushed harder. He was fine.
Chase Ingraham (21:11):
He was either Hoffer or Tudor. Those were your only two picks. You should
John Young (21:14):
Have looked. I just thought Tudor was not fit enough to last, but it’s fine. I made the wrong call. It happens.
Chase Ingraham (21:20):
It’s all right. I made like 10 bad calls this weekend.
Mattew Souza (21:24):
It’s the name of the game. Two
Chase Ingraham (21:25):
Is a travesty for me.
Mattew Souza (21:27):
Do we check that we haven’t updated on the men’s leaderboard yet, do we? No, it’s still not up yet. I’m
John Young (21:34):
Still here guys. I got to get up my charger.
Mattew Souza (21:36):
Okay. O JR. R is back. Beautiful.
John Young (21:41):
Okay,
Mattew Souza (21:41):
So top three is solidified for the men. So not much of a race there then, huh? 1, 2, 3. Three. That’s what it’s,
Chase Ingraham (21:50):
It could be something. I mean how many events have we seen where one movement is a deal breaker?
Mattew Souza (21:56):
Right, right.
Chase Ingraham (21:57):
We don’t know. It could be one of those. We haven’t had that today per se. I mean the handstand walk was the great dictator in the last event. Yes. But it wasn’t something people could or couldn’t do. They were just better or worse at it. Different than a deadlift, different than the rock, different than the log muscle ups. So who knows
Mattew Souza (22:18):
$200,000 is riding on this event for one woman. We know that. And that is crazy. I mean the way that rogue set this up and especially hiding the cards on this last event just created the perfect storyline for the Tia in Laura. And like we said earlier, how often do you predict these storylines or these matchups and then it actually comes out exactly how it was predicted to be. I mean, Katie and Bill got to be stoked at the way this thing is lining up. For this last, I don’t
Chase Ingraham (22:45):
Want to jump to the end, but I know coming in, I feel like a lot of us said Laura needed to win to kind of cement her games place and have a story going into the off season. If she gets second, Tia gets first in this finale and that’s how it shakes out. Do you think that is actually better for her versus them getting totally beat by Tia? Do you think that changes things?
Mattew Souza (23:12):
I think
John Young (23:13):
That you either win by an inch or a mile. Winning is winning. Alright, Dom? I’ll say the one thing that is kind of take, well I’m not sure if it makes it better or worse, but knowing that no matter how hard some of them by how much they beat somebody, they’re still only going to get five points. Even though Tia blew away that handstand walk event and put a lot of separation between her and Laura. She just tied, now she’s with Laura.
JR Howell (23:47):
So you’re saying that they should be using performance score.
John Young (23:52):
Hey Tyler Watkins jumped on the chat real quick.
JR Howell (23:55):
Hey. Hey, when is this finale supposed to start?
John Young (23:58):
10 minutes.
JR Howell (24:00):
Okay, so I’ll tell you guys the workout.
Mattew Souza (24:02):
Okay,
John Young (24:03):
Tell us.
Mattew Souza (24:04):
You got it.
JR Howell (24:05):
So the workout is three rounds and then two rounds and then one round. So 3, 2, 1. Okay. First round is three rounds of 25 double unders, five cleans at 2 25, then two rounds of 25 double unders, five squat cleans. Then one round of 25 double unders, five cleaning jerks.
Mattew Souza (24:31):
And it stays the same weight,
JR Howell (24:33):
Correct?
John Young (24:33):
2 25, 1 55.
JR Howell (24:36):
I don’t know for sure what the female loading is.
Mattew Souza (24:40):
Three rounds, two rounds, one round.
JR Howell (24:42):
Correct. Regular double unders.
John Young (24:45):
Any rest between?
JR Howell (24:47):
It’s just all for time.
Mattew Souza (24:49):
Oh shit, that’s going to
JR Howell (24:51):
Be awesome. So 15 cleans, 10 squat cleans, five clean and jerks.
John Young (24:58):
That’ll be,
Mattew Souza (25:00):
I think Laura might have the edge on that. Yeah,
John Young (25:03):
I mean any clean workout. I think I’m giving her the edge on it right now. Especially the squaw clean. Any clean workout
Mattew Souza (25:12):
Smokes. Kate, can you pull up that women’s leaderboard?
John Young (25:14):
It’ll still be amazing to see Tia send it because Tia’s going to try.
Mattew Souza (25:19):
Okay, what now about Romanowski?
John Young (25:23):
Kakowski? Dude, I don’t know. I really don’t know.
Mattew Souza (25:28):
Okay, so we got the
John Young (25:29):
Wonder. No, Roman. Hold on. Go to the, yeah, Kakowski. He’d have to lose by six spots. Roman’s not going to beat him by six spots in this.
Mattew Souza (25:38):
Hold on, hold on. Let’s stick with the women real quick because look at that. Third and fourth are tied First and second are tied. Oh shit, I didn’t even see that. And then Alex Gaza is right outside of that. Well, 50 points. Is that enough for her to make it up? She’s still breaking
John Young (25:53):
45 points. It’s nine spots. That’s a lot. That’s a lot. But it’s
Mattew Souza (25:57):
Clean, it’s squat cleans and
John Young (25:59):
No, she’ll be good, but I mean Gabby and Emma aren’t going to be bad.
Mattew Souza (26:03):
Yeah, Emma can move weight better than I think. Was it? Or no? No. What was the event of the game where I was like, oh,
John Young (26:10):
She snatched one 90 or 1 95. She snatched. She got 10th or seventh place at the games. Or 10th, seventh, their 10th place. That’s right. And everybody thought she was not going to lift. Very heavy.
Mattew Souza (26:22):
Yeah, it’s too wide. That’s the event done across the bottom. For those of you guys, I might just be jumping in here. It is announced here. This is a fun
John Young (26:31):
Workout period. I might just do this one just to see what it feels like.
Mattew Souza (26:37):
Yeah, it
John Young (26:38):
Looks just like a fun workout in general. That looks like just mostly because it’s all things that I can do. I like when an invitational workout or a games level of workout is something that I can do
Mattew Souza (26:52):
Myself. We like this event. Everybody’s in agreeance here. This is the event we want to see for this show down road at the end. Yeah,
John Young (26:59):
Definitely.
Mattew Souza (27:01):
Oh shit. Okay, so if the event starts pretty soon here, what time is it at? 11 o’clock our time. One o’clock locally it starts. Seems like it. Okay. Alright, so let’s, we’ll bring Jr back in now. So let’s get some predictions going for that event. Then we’ll start with the women first. Who we got? Oh, I need to pick him. Hey. Yeah, you start, you this off here. Who’s it going to be?
John Young (27:29):
Me. Am I starting it?
Mattew Souza (27:30):
No. Chase going to start it. Okay, go ahead Chase. Who am I picking guys and girls? I’ll go guys. First I’m going to say Adler ad. Oh, I’m sorry John. I’m going to use my brain to make a pick. And for the females. Jason you got, I’m going to say Laura.
John Young (27:53):
Wow man. You’re trooper
Mattew Souza (27:55):
Two. Okay. Okay. I mean I did pick both last event, so watch your back. I’m not coming for you because my picks are terrible earlier. Okay. John. John, who you got?
John Young (28:09):
Jeff and Laura.
Mattew Souza (28:12):
Jeff and Laura. Okay. Jeff and Laura Jr.
JR Howell (28:20):
I kind want to go Jeff and Danny Spiegel. Yep.
John Young (28:28):
It’s not heavy enough.
Mattew Souza (28:29):
Got to get below parallel.
John Young (28:31):
It’s not heavy enough.
JR Howell (28:32):
I just don’t think, I just maybe don’t think it’s long enough though to slow her down is what I’m saying.
John Young (28:37):
You think she’s going to be fast? What part of that? Will Laura move slower than her?
JR Howell (28:43):
My point is,
John Young (28:43):
I see what you’re saying, but it’s not heavy enough for Danny to do what you’re thinking
Mattew Souza (28:49):
And she doesn’t have the incentive that Laura does right now.
JR Howell (28:53):
Yeah, this might be, I’m looking for someone to pick other than
John Young (28:57):
Laura,
JR Howell (28:59):
Like we talked about earlier with the Olivia Kerstetter thing, how she got second in heavy grace last year when not many people were just assuming that someone from the first heat would put up such a fast time. So I’m kind of looking for someone like that to make some noise here. But I think the pick is Laura. Yeah.
Mattew Souza (29:19):
Is this the most important event of Laura Horvath’s career? Yes. Yes. Great question. And I think so John,
John Young (29:28):
I’m thinking
JR Howell (29:30):
I don’t think so.
Mattew Souza (29:31):
No. What
John Young (29:32):
One event that matter. I think so Jr think about this game, one event that matter more to her career if she wins this event than her games. And I know for you it might be different, but just for general public, her games placement is solidified. If she loses the event, Tia wasn’t there.
Mattew Souza (29:50):
Damn.
JR Howell (29:50):
A lot of people would just say, because it’s the next event, it’s always the most important one. Cliches like that. But I would just still push back and say.
