Official Rogue Invitational Event 4 & 5 pre/post show

Sevan Matossian (00:00):

Out of nowhere on the broadcast and all of a sudden he just slipped in second place. Bam. We’re live. We have the honor to have Mr. Spin with us. Brian spin from the barbell spin. What’s up John Young from No one ever gets that. John Young from JY barbell. Matt. Susan, the center of CrossFit Livermore and everyone knows him as the face of the Keeps the lights on here at the Avon podcast and then Caleb Beaver bringing up the pictures and the insights from the back so that you don’t just have to listen to our voice. We are waiting for, we’re not waiting for, but Taylor from Self-made training program will be joining us shortly. He’s just snapping some quick photos for his only fans. Great event. I do want to say I want to address or undress of Victor Hoffer yesterday we accused him of having a sex change Today we accused him of not having a trunk and the man from France took third place. Mr. Spin surprised. We shouldn’t be surprised, right? He’s the greatest at gymnastics ever. He’s on a whole nother level and then no one’s picking because there’s a snatch.

Brian Spin (01:19):

If you watch my show on Wednesday, I picked him. You did? Of course. It was not a surprise. It was not a surprise.

John Young (01:24):

I didn’t pick him. I was very surprised he was that good. I ended up picking Noah. I guess it worked out, but Victor, I didn’t think he would be second place in this workout.

Sevan Matossian (01:36):

Third. Third bor.

Brian Spin (01:37):

Carl Goodmanson

John Young (01:39):

Kg. That’s right.

Sevan Matossian (01:40):

Who looks like he fell off the cover of gymnastics weekly by the way. Just his body and his whole look.

John Young (01:47):

Stu G

Sevan Matossian (01:47):

Super, BKG. Just superficially speaking, he looks like he’s from the Russian Olympic team. Gymnastics. A hundred

John Young (01:55):

Percent.

Brian Spin (01:55):

Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (01:56):

Anyway, go on. So you picked Noah. We’re trying to celebrate Hoffer and you’re like, well, I didn’t pick him but I picked the winner. Go on John.

John Young (02:03):

No, but you know what? Hey, Victor’s got some fans. My gym has a suite Iron Antler Fitness giving y’all a little shout out and all of the girls love Victor Hoffer. They think he’s the prettiest thing out there. They were all rooting for him.

Sevan Matossian (02:19):

Where did they go wrong in saying that? Were we wrong in the previous show by saying his trunk isn’t developed enough or were we right and just the snatches weren’t as consequential as we thought? Mr. Spin?

Brian Spin (02:35):

The latter for sure. I mean

Sevan Matossian (02:38):

He still pussy

Brian Spin (02:40):

For the most part. The snatches were not that big of the differentiator. You saw the handstand pushups was definitely the biggest separator if you couldn’t do those, you saw that with Laura and Roman and Roman. Yeah. And so you just had to have a consistent pace and just stay close to the barbell on the snatches and you weren’t going to be that different. It was when you got back to the rings and the handstand pushups, could you just go straight into ’em or did you have to take a break and waste time?

Sevan Matossian (03:11):

Noah’s handstand pushups, are they just on a complete other level? Is he alone? Is there anyone else who’s in his category?

John Young (03:20):

The keeping one? Yeah, it’s not just those. I think it’s the combination of the whole event and I don’t know if Will Moira’s hands are shredded or not. Will Morad is the best at handstand pushups in the whole world if you will watch his first round, either his first round all strict and I thought he was going to do that the whole entire time. I’m surprised that he ran out so quick. Like a normal Will Morad wouldn’t run out as quick as he did of gas, but he did. But no, they’re in the same category, but there are people there. Noah’s just fitter. He’s the fittest guy that’s really, really good at hand stamp pushups.

Sevan Matossian (03:54):

I am dying to see this leaderboard because did we just see Roman Koff completely fall out? Is that it? There’s no chance He might be in the bottom five guys.

Brian Spin (04:12):

Oh,

Sevan Matossian (04:13):

It must

John Young (04:13):

Work out.

Sevan Matossian (04:14):

Yeah, he might be in the bottom five.

Brian Spin (04:18):

He’s no longer on the podium. I can say that. I don’t know how far he’ll drop. He’s no

John Young (04:21):

Longer on

Brian Spin (04:21):

The podium for the

John Young (04:23):

Entire weekend. This event, just making sure. Okay, just making sure

Sevan Matossian (04:29):

I heard it. I heard it no longer on the podium for the entire week. You heard it? That’s through

Taylor Self (04:34):

Your, yeah, whatever.

Sevan Matossian (04:36):

Hey, let’s just say this right now. Look at these scores right here. The worst is Brent Fow with the 15th. I suspect we saw Roman just take a 15th or worst. He’s going to have Tide or the worst finish and now you’re claim and to be in the top three. The worst so far is 13th Pat Vellner.

John Young (04:54):

That will be your leader after this event. Good for him.

Brian Spin (04:58):

And he’s a fucking wicked good dead lifter too

Sevan Matossian (05:01):

Wicked. Is that what’s next? The deadlift?

Brian Spin (05:03):

No, the dual. Which he should be fine at too. Yeah,

John Young (05:06):

He’ll be good. The duals Willie

Brian Spin (05:08):

Though, he struggles

John Young (05:09):

With high execution. He won the obstacle course in 2017. That was his first win ever. He’s really good at, he’s really good at the obstacle. I agree with you. Execution but not with this type of stuff.

Brian Spin (05:20):

Okay. Always. It’s not

John Young (05:21):

A snatch that he has to make. There’s not a li to make. It’s all just being athletic.

Sevan Matossian (05:26):

I wish I could show you the leaderboard. I just had it up here and I screwed it up and took it off.

Brian Spin (05:31):

Nothing’s updated yet. It’s not updated. Brian

Sevan Matossian (05:33):

Spin. I mean, but I had it frozen on the screen from the live stream, but basically as I remember who took second, it was Noah first place.

John Young (05:42):

Pat second,

Sevan Matossian (05:43):

Pat second and Haw.

John Young (05:46):

No Bkg. Kg second, Hoffer third and then Pat fourth. Pat would’ve gotten third had he sprinted across to the line. He strutted across the line and if he would’ve sprinted, he would’ve beat Victor, but he didn’t. You need to know the time to beat. I was a little upset about that. Do you

Sevan Matossian (06:02):

Guys, give me one second. Lemme say the places again and then you can go. Taylor, Noah, first, Bjork, VIN, Carl, Goodmanson second. Victor, Hoffa third. Pat Vellner. Fourth. The only person from the first heat in this top four is Hoffer. Go ahead. Taylor.

Taylor Self (06:15):

Hoffer made me eat Crow. I’ll say that and I’m pumped. Good for him, dude. That’s what you should do as an athlete. If you have somebody saying, oh, you can’t do this, you can’t do that. You take it and you fuck him up with that.

Sevan Matossian (06:29):

Yeah,

John Young (06:29):

Tia

Taylor Self (06:30):

So good for him. The other thing I was going to ask, do you ever get into, ever start to engage in an argument via social media and then just fucking pump the brakes real hard? I’m like, whoa, what am I doing? I can’t argue with this level of craziness.

Sevan Matossian (06:45):

Oh, because they’re so crazy.

Taylor Self (06:47):

So

Sevan Matossian (06:48):

Yes, yes, yes.

Taylor Self (06:49):

It’s like, why am I even responding? There’s nothing that’s going to come out of this.

Sevan Matossian (06:52):

Anytime anyone says something like white people can’t be racist or it says in the Bible, I am immediately like, I’m out. I’m out. I’m out. I’m out. I’m out. Not

John Young (07:02):

Touching the 10 foot pole. No, no,

Sevan Matossian (07:04):

I’m out. I don’t, no, I don’t do that. I don’t be crazy like that. Okay. No Olsson. First place Bjorkman Carl Goodmanson. Second place. Did I say white people can’t be racist. I meant black people can’t be racist. First place. Noah Olsson. Second place Borman. Carl Goodmanson. Third place, Victor Hoffer. Fourth place Pat Vellner. Fifth place J Crouch. That’s nice.

John Young (07:25):

That is

Sevan Matossian (07:25):

Great. Lazar Ju. Hey, is that bizarre? Lazar Juki. I think of him as a taller man.

Taylor Self (07:38):

Oh no. Running. This is a decent workout for him.

John Young (07:41):

Yeah. This is a good workout for

Taylor Self (07:42):

Him.

Sevan Matossian (07:43):

Good endurance.

John Young (07:47):

Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (07:47):

Is that why? Because it’s 10 rounds. Is that for some people with Victor Hoffer where he’s great upside down, but for Lazarus, the strong point is like, Hey, it’s 10 rounds and the guy’s got an engine that for him, is that the important part here?

John Young (07:59):

It’s engine being with Elite Gymnastics.

Sevan Matossian (08:04):

Fair enough. Jay Crouch, Lazar, gic, Willmore. A little bit shocked here, right gentlemen? You guys were saying

Taylor Self (08:11):

A little surprised. A little surprised for sure. I wouldn’t expect him to be a minute and a half off the best time.

John Young (08:18):

That’s fair. I agree with that.

Sevan Matossian (08:20):

That being said, he did beat the champ and the Champ is a pretty solid baseline. Jeffrey Adler at 1742.

Taylor Self (08:27):

Too much jacos between the games and now too much. What else do they do? What else do they French Canada dude, too much mask. Too much gab. Too much Jaco. Sorry, I’m going off. It’s too much. Dot com and zone Diet for him. Kind of a

John Young (08:44):

Bad finish for him in this workout.

Taylor Self (08:46):

I would say so as well. I think that’s a terrible finish for Jeff,

Sevan Matossian (08:50):

Bruce. Wayne especially

John Young (08:50):

Considering Pat got forth

Sevan Matossian (08:53):

Hispanics can’t be racist. We’re not even a race. Thank you, Colin.

Brian Spin (08:58):

Yeah, but

Sevan Matossian (08:59):

If there’s ever a knock

Brian Spin (09:00):

On Adler, it was his gymnastics. Was it?

John Young (09:03):

Not these gymnastics. Brian?

Taylor Self (09:05):

What Gymnastics.

Sevan Matossian (09:06):

Apparently it is. Taylor says too much. Juku Bine. Dan Guerrero says too much. Ine Ang, which is a kind of shampoo. That’s the cousin of Pantene.

Taylor Self (09:19):

Oh, I thought that was a cousin of Poo. Ang more males.

Sevan Matossian (09:23):

God, you’re so crass. God, my

Taylor Self (09:25):

Mom’s watching more

John Young (09:27):

Male. I think Roman and Hosta need to watch Brent Kowski in events in these type of events. Brent Falkowski was a behind almost everybody in the first two rounds. And little by little by little got better and better and better. And if you watch him the way he executed this event, it was beautiful because he knows this is not going to be the greatest event for him. It’s a range of motion workout and Roman and Hosta went the exact opposite way that Brent Falkowski went. They need to

Taylor Self (09:59):

Watch. Well, I would disagree. I would say Brent Falkowski went into this workout with the approach that I’m going to maximize every fucking point that I possibly can based off my capacity here and run my race perfectly to do so. Roman went out with, I should have been the fittest on earth and I’m going to be the fittest on earth on this workout. Not realistically appraising his capacity on the workout. Yeah. La Host Day. I thought I didn’t see him in the first couple rounds. I thought he started slow and finished even worse. I don’t think he started hot, did he?

Brian Spin (10:30):

No. This is just not a

John Young (10:31):

Good one for He faded. I was just saying he faded. He faded.

Taylor Self (10:35):

Well, I think him and Hopper approached this workout even different than Roman and even than Brent in the sense that, oh, I’m not going to be good at this workout, so fuck it. And they quit before they even start.

Sevan Matossian (10:47):

Who did that? Who are you accusing of that? Who are

Taylor Self (10:49):

You accusing for sure, Jason. For sure. He’s way more capable than a last. I mean, what did he take the, do they have the

Sevan Matossian (10:57):

Bottom 10? We don’t have it yet. Why would he do that? Why would he say F it? Why would he go out there? And

Taylor Self (11:00):

I don’t think he said F it. I don’t think he’s consciously saying F it. I think in his head he’s like, I’m not going to do well at this workout and that just eats in and it adds seconds to everything he does. It’s in the back of his mind. I’m not supposed to be good at this. It adds seconds to everything he does. And you could see it in the way he approaches the workout. Such a lack of aggression, such a lack of discipline. And it frustrates me because he’s a really good friend of mine. I know he’s capable of so much more. All right. Sorry. Done crying.

Sevan Matossian (11:29):

Let’s fuck you.

Taylor Self (11:30):

Jason Yale. Don’t say Hopper’s trash in the comments. I’ll fuck you up.

Sevan Matossian (11:34):

Hey, yeah, yeah. Blood sticker than water. Let’s go to the women who won this in the women’s side.

John Young (11:40):

Tia,

Sevan Matossian (11:41):

Tia Crush and listen,

John Young (11:44):

Doing as good as she did, and Laura doing as bad as she did, this is going to be a thick lead going

Sevan Matossian (11:50):

Whatever. Hey, the fuck, are the women that good? Is

Taylor Self (11:53):

She that good or are the women just that bad? I mean, they had fucking six months to figure it out and they can’t touch her. And then she just struts back in and pats everybody on the head and says, good game and walks off

Sevan Matossian (12:03):

With brings them water. Say, wait, wait, wait. Before we get into this, let’s, I want to give the top five at least tell me who they are. Tia or first

Brian Spin (12:14):

Is it Ariel?

Sevan Matossian (12:15):

Ariel, Emma,

Taylor Self (12:17):

Ariel Lowen, men on Agony. Look out for Emma Carey.

Brian Spin (12:21):

Let’s go Ariel.

Sevan Matossian (12:22):

Okay, hold on a second. Very

Taylor Self (12:23):

Surprised by man and Anese. Come

Sevan Matossian (12:24):

On guys, lemme get this out. Hold on for the people just listening. First place Tia Claire Tomi. Second place. Emma Carey. Third place, Ariel Lowen. Fourth place she came to compete this weekend. Gentlemen, Manon Anez. Fifth place. Emma Lawson. Sixth place. Christine Cobrand.

Taylor Self (12:41):

That one right there is She’s great at gymnast. Pretty darn huge. I know, but she’s a bigger girl and it’s high volume. Gymnastics not, but it’s not strict.

Brian Spin (12:51):

There’s no running. That’s true.

Taylor Self (12:53):

It’s not strict. There’s a lot of, I know Hip Danny Spiegel’s also good at that stuff with the judge.

Brian Spin (13:00):

Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (13:02):

Okay. Let me just say this. I want to get it out of the way real quick. What happened to Daniel Brandon? This is what I think happened. I think they told her attack, this is your workout to win. She attacked and then just fucking hit a wall because I think she was leading. I think she was leading then hanging around second and third and then all of a sudden just vanished.

Taylor Self (13:20):

Well, she was in first heat, which doesn’t help. And I think her black back also got blown out by the snatch.

Sevan Matossian (13:27):

Any thoughts, Mr. Spin? Think it’s back.

Brian Spin (13:30):

I think this one surprised a lot of people. I mean, you saw it on the first tee of the women. I mean there were four rounds in and they all looked trashed and I commented on our thread that this is going to be a rough second half and if you went out hot, you paid for it. You had to have this consistent pace like Ariel, like Tia, like Hoffer, where you knew you could hold that pace and just do it. If you went out faster than your average, you were toast.

Sevan Matossian (13:58):

And ladies, gentlemen, we are looking on the screen right now at the top 10 and there is a name that’s screaming at us that’s not on this list and that is Laura Horvat. Is this John Young the workout? Is she gone now? Is that it? She can’t win first

Taylor Self (14:15):

Now. I think it would be incredibly hard for her to win first. How about second? She win second. I actually think Emma Lawson is going to be ahead of her after this. Can we go to the leaderboard to see how many points there was? There was a big gap, but not this big of a gap. The thing about Tia that this workout is very similar to the first event for me for Tia, because we knew that she’s so much better than every other athlete. With maybe the exception of a Christie AMO at running way better than all the females at running muscle ups as well. She’s better than half the men’s field at ring ups, which is a female is insane. She’s just so fucking good at muscle ups.

John Young (14:57):

Yeah, this should have been a home run hit for her. I think a lot of us said Tia was going to win. It’s just Laura couldn’t afford to do as bad as she

Taylor Self (15:07):

Did. I agree.

John Young (15:11):

It is going to be really hard. She needs Tia to have a really bad event, a bad for even to be a shot. Tiatia has to have an event where she really falls off and I see it hard to,

Taylor Self (15:24):

Unless she gets a massive mistake on the dual Tia it Tia, it

John Young (15:28):

Could have a Yeah, yeah, for

Taylor Self (15:29):

Sure. That’s the only chance you have to

John Young (15:32):

Take a massive mess up on T. Like

Taylor Self (15:34):

A no rep on a rope climb or something.

John Young (15:36):

A middle judge. If you’ll,

Taylor Self (15:38):

For

Sevan Matossian (15:38):

Historical purposes. Let me just ask you guys this question. What women have there been who are better than men? Like Carrie Pierce,

Taylor Self (15:49):

Carrie Pierce,

Sevan Matossian (15:51):

Sam Briggs,

Taylor Self (15:52):

Sam Briggs. Yep.

Sevan Matossian (15:53):

And now there’s a Tumi.

Taylor Self (15:55):

There are probably, ah man,

John Young (15:58):

Elizabeth Kin Wally and Monkey bars.

Sevan Matossian (16:01):

Did we have monkey bars back then?

John Young (16:05):

Went un broken on Killer Cage in 2011.

Sevan Matossian (16:07):

Wow. Wow. In that heavy fun squat too.

John Young (16:11):

Well, I mean, we’re not going to pair weights with men and women,

Sevan Matossian (16:14):

Anything else, which is quite the feat, right?

Taylor Self (16:18):

T at swimming as well. I mean are Yeah, swimming is one that’s pretty standard.

Sevan Matossian (16:27):

She beats the field out there. If they do a swim muscle up event, she’s beating 90% of the men. T is,

Taylor Self (16:34):

I don’t know, about 90%. She’s beating without a doubt. 50%. Which is still crazy.

Sevan Matossian (16:40):

Right? Well, what’s really crazy is that you’re beating men who are in the top 10, top five, and then just like Carrie Pierce, just fucking putting it to the whole field. Right,

Taylor Self (16:48):

Right, right.

Sevan Matossian (16:50):

Yeah, absolutely.

John Young (16:52):

Danielle, Brandon and handstand walking.

Taylor Self (16:54):

That’s a good example.

Sevan Matossian (16:55):

Danielle and

Taylor Self (16:56):

Handstand walking.

Sevan Matossian (16:56):

Oh no. But isn’t there a guy now that runs faster than Tudor,

Taylor Self (16:59):

Magda,

John Young (17:00):

Tudor, Magda. But you put them on obstacles. I’ll take Danielle all day. I’ll take Danielle on any handstand walking event.

Taylor Self (17:06):

But if it’s just a straight 300 for time, maybe two,

John Young (17:08):

Maybe not, maybe not.

Taylor Self (17:10):

Yeah, he runs, it’s crazy.

John Young (17:12):

Do you know who Matt Tay is?

Taylor Self (17:13):

Yes. Matt ate. He

John Young (17:16):

Lies on his hands

Taylor Self (17:18):

When you’re mid, oh sorry. Little person.

Sevan Matossian (17:23):

All of a sudden you bite your

John Young (17:24):

Tongue. That was

Taylor Self (17:26):

What? Yeah, dude, I would never say that word.

Sevan Matossian (17:31):

Let’s just do it. So is it over? Is the woman’s competition over? Is that it? Did we just see the end of it?

John Young (17:37):

Unfortunately, it’s like a massive mess up on Tia’s side.

Taylor Self (17:39):

Dude, we said that. But yeah, I mean,

Sevan Matossian (17:42):

I know, but I had hope there would be some, I mean, I want Tia to do well, but I was hoping we would have a, I wanted Laura to win so we could get to the games and see him battle again and not know. But now we know now the games are, if Tia wins this, the games are kind of ruined too.

John Young (17:59):

There’s no chance. Yes, yes. I think it’s Laura’s fault though, than Tia’s Superior

Sevan Matossian (18:08):

1555. Dude, she beat Emma Carey by a minute and 20 minute and 18 seconds,

Taylor Self (18:14):

Which is crazy.

John Young (18:16):

50 seconds. No, 50 seconds. Yeah,

Sevan Matossian (18:19):

Not over. Right, right, right, right.

Taylor Self (18:22):

But dude, that’s insane.

John Young (18:24):

Yeah, no, it is. Yeah. Laura could not ask for a better handstand pushup

Taylor Self (18:29):

Event

John Young (18:30):

Variant. You know what I mean? If Laura was going to win, it looked like they wanted Laura to win the way that event.

Sevan Matossian (18:42):

I thought that disagree or at least give her a chance. I thought that actually popped in my head too when they made this. Let’s make something that at least gives Laura a chance. I thought that too.

Taylor Self (18:51):

I don’t think they had that thought at all. But I will say, I think it’s confusing seeing the workout and saying, oh, it’s a tipping handstand pushup. Laura should do well, but then you look at the 40 pressing reps on the muscle up, the 12 pressing reps from here to here on the snatch, and I just think all that pressing fatigue accumulated and exacerbated something that’s already a weakness for her. And when she says handstand pushups aren’t a weakness, unfortunately you are full of shit.

Sevan Matossian (19:20):

That’s not accurate. It’s an uncomfortable truth. Taylor.

Taylor Self (19:23):

It is. Look, everybody has him except for Patty B. Look at Noah.

Sevan Matossian (19:29):

Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Thank you, Caleb. Geez Louise. Thank you. Sorry, sorry, sorry. Here we go. Lemme just read this comment from Aaron and then we’ll get straight to it and those guys can, that was jump up and down on their chairs. Aaron, it’s over. Aaron says, Laura’s good. It’s so many and

John Young (19:48):

That’s an unfortunate truth,

Sevan Matossian (19:50):

But her hole is devastated. She won’t win. Now

Taylor Self (19:53):

Her hole is, is okay, let’s, I’m crass. Let’s

Sevan Matossian (19:59):

Go to the men. Pat Vellner, 310 points. Noah Olsson, 290 points. Wow. Noah two. Jeffrey Adler, two 90 York and Carl Goodmanson 2 85 Roman Koff 2 75. So the difference now between first place and fifth place, Roman is 35 points.

Taylor Self (20:20):

Wow. Roman really hung onto his britches there with that 15.

John Young (20:23):

He really did. I thought it would be worse than this. That shakeout, everybody’s

Taylor Self (20:28):

The running first place’s only five points, 35 points back with five events. Still over half the competition to go. He’s fine.

John Young (20:36):

And he had home run hits the chipper. I think he’s going to win the chipper.

Sevan Matossian (20:41):

Okay, without looking. I want to ask you guys this question. Do not scroll down yet, Caleb. I cheated. The worst placing you see here is 15th. There is a guy sitting in ninth place who has an 18th place finish. That’s where the, you have to go down to the ninth place to see a worst finish than 15th. Do you guys know who it is?

Taylor Self (21:04):

Can we go pop Ricky, d dLAN, pepper, Ricky. Oh, it’s Ricky hired an

Sevan Matossian (21:09):

18th.

Taylor Self (21:09):

Rick had an 18th.

Sevan Matossian (21:10):

So Ricky Ricky’s sitting the bar event. Oh my God. Almost a hundred points below eight. First, 18th, 12th.

Taylor Self (21:21):

Can we scroll a little further? I just want to get, yeah,

Sevan Matossian (21:23):

I please. Yeah, go ahead

Taylor Self (21:25):

Travis. Super consistent. Great for him.

Sevan Matossian (21:28):

Yeah, it’s annoying.

John Young (21:34):

I thought hosted would take a way bigger than that,

Taylor Self (21:37):

Dude. The fact

John Young (21:38):

That he’s still 11th

Taylor Self (21:40):

On

Mattew Souza (21:41):

Hopin 14th,

Taylor Self (21:42):

Man, all of these guys,

John Young (21:42):

Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. So 10th through 15th is only separated by 20 points.

Mattew Souza (21:48):

Yeah, one 90 for Lazar, Juki and 15th and

Taylor Self (21:52):

Then 10th place. Travis Mayer at two and 10th through 20th only makes six grand.

John Young (21:58):

Yeah,

Taylor Self (21:59):

Well that sucks. Yeah. Or 11th

Mattew Souza (22:01):

Through 20th. I think I take six grand.

Taylor Self (22:04):

Six grand to get your anus obliterated for four days. I’ve had 1500 a day. Free hotel

Sevan Matossian (22:12):

Though. Not bad.

Taylor Self (22:14):

Is it free

Sevan Matossian (22:16):

And lots of good exposure. Let’s look at seventh place. Let’s talk about everyone. Give me a one minute, a little thing on Chandler. Is Chandler finally settling into where he belongs amongst these beasts? Fifth, fourth, 11th. 11th. Is that it? Are we going to slowly see him weighing Mr. Young?

John Young (22:34):

No. We’re going to slowly see him climb.

Sevan Matossian (22:36):

Climb.

John Young (22:37):

He’s about to have a hundred points in this deadlift workout and a hundred points as we’ve seen with Noah just now. Pat Vellner a couple workouts ago, a hundred points does so many things for you in a competition where there’s so many rollercoaster happenings across the board and we know that that’s coming for him. I think he’s only, I think, and none of the upcoming workouts, I think Jim, those are going to be his worst finishes. Maybe he has something that I don’t know about that comes out of the park, but I think he’s just going to climb. I think podium is within reach for him.

Sevan Matossian (23:17):

You think he’s going to do better than 11th on the dual?

Taylor Self (23:23):

The

John Young (23:23):

Dual. It’s execution. It’s hard to say how anybody do.

Sevan Matossian (23:26):

I don’t need you to make excuses for him, buddy.

Taylor Self (23:29):

Okay, Wanka. I think he probably does better than 11th on the Duall, but he’s going to win the deadlifts.

Sevan Matossian (23:34):

What are the movements in the dual? You got to duck under some pole while you’re running and he can jump over a

John Young (23:39):

Wrestler. He’s a wrestler. He does that stuff all the time.

Taylor Self (23:41):

My one concerns the rope climb.

Sevan Matossian (23:43):

You have to lift a heavy bag and you have to do a rope climb.

Taylor Self (23:47):

Rope climb. Speed up and down is going to be huge.

Sevan Matossian (23:51):

And how is he on the rope?

Taylor Self (23:54):

I don’t think he’s top. I don’t think he the worst in the field. He’s not the worst, but he’s not top five in the field on the rope. We just got to get top 10. Taylor,

Brian Spin (24:02):

Is he the rope? Are they still doing the rope climb? The schedule has it different now.

Taylor Self (24:07):

What does the schedule say?

Brian Spin (24:09):

Oh, it doesn’t have a rope climb on there.

Taylor Self (24:11):

What does it just say?

Brian Spin (24:12):

It just says the over under log and three sandbags to teeter. It’s

Taylor Self (24:16):

More than that. It has to be more

Sevan Matossian (24:18):

Than, I don’t see the rope. I’m looking at the screen right now. I just saw the masters do it and I did not see them climb the rope. I just saw them do, they took

Taylor Self (24:24):

Their rope out?

Sevan Matossian (24:26):

I don’t know.

Brian Spin (24:26):

I’m wondering because if it starts to rain, they can’t do it

Sevan Matossian (24:30):

Or they wouldn’t feel sorry for them because their hands are torn up. Would they?

Brian Spin (24:36):

Oh,

Taylor Self (24:37):

Well they’d do a different deadlift bar if that was the case, because they picked the deadlift bar. That’s going to shred it the most.

Sevan Matossian (24:44):

Mr. Spin Chandler Smith. Are we going to see him just like he’s in quicksand, just soly settle into ninth and place? No,

Brian Spin (24:54):

I think he has the ability to kind of stay where he is on the dual and then maybe move up ahead of Roman, honestly. And then the deadlift, he’s going to take first or second at worst. And so I see him top five after today.

Sevan Matossian (25:12):

And anything down at the bottom here, Travis Mayer 10, jelly Hosta 11 Will Morad Victor Hopper. Jason Hopper taking a 17th. So Jason has a sixth, a 19th, a fourth, and a 17th.

Taylor Self (25:26):

Those are mental defeats on those two bad workouts. More than anything I surmise.

Sevan Matossian (25:34):

Hey, what’s it do to an athlete out there when they get capped? Does that just suck? Is that insult on injury

Brian Spin (25:41):

When you have Noah coming over to you to cheering you on? Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (25:45):

Did he do that? Did he go over and cheer Hopper on?

Brian Spin (25:48):

I don’t know. He went last night

Taylor Self (25:49):

To care. He never doesn’t do that. Savon.

Sevan Matossian (25:51):

Yeah, Noah doesn’t.

Taylor Self (25:52):

That’s the most annoying thing about him. I

Sevan Matossian (25:55):

Love Noah. I have grown. I love Noah.

Taylor Self (25:56):

Like Noah. I’ve grown to really like Noah. I hate that he does that.

Sevan Matossian (26:00):

I want to pay for the Noah Olsson. Daniel Brandon. Only fans page. I love Noah. I’m

Taylor Self (26:05):

A little upset that he’s retiring this year because I would’ve loved to see Taylor at the games and then somehow get last place in something and then Noah come over to cheer him on mind. Were you just saying that Danielle, Brandon and Noah Olsson should have their own only fans?

Sevan Matossian (26:22):

I did. I did. That

Taylor Self (26:23):

Would be a crazy porno.

Sevan Matossian (26:25):

No, no, not a porno. That’s what only fans is, no, you can do other stuff on it. You can cook. What would you do? Cook. He picks, they step ons, cakes and various breads. Place Chinese checkers.

Taylor Self (26:38):

Not that I know.

Sevan Matossian (26:40):

D Pepper’s sitting in 17th place. Here we go down 16. 16, 10, 13. Hasn’t budged

Mattew Souza (26:50):

From that spot though.

Sevan Matossian (26:51):

No. These guys are toast, right? These guys are just toast. Yeah. Figety fucked.

John Young (26:57):

Wow. They’re down there.

Sevan Matossian (26:58):

They’re not moving. Okay, let, let’s go over to the, do we want to say anything about Pat Vellner yet? I think he’s going to do great in the dual too. I think Pat’s a competitor. He knows how to play the game. Pat’s a slow burn. I think he’s going

Mattew Souza (27:14):

To sit up at that spot and do

Sevan Matossian (27:15):

Exactly what he needs to do for

Mattew Souza (27:17):

Over the course of these

Sevan Matossian (27:18):

Next five events. I am going to predict this. The highlight of this Rogue Invitational is about to happen when in the final we have some mixture of Pat, Jeff, and Ricky.

John Young (27:30):

That would be a monstrous storm by Ricky. You

Taylor Self (27:33):

Think of what?

Sevan Matossian (27:33):

Yeah.

Taylor Self (27:34):

How is Ricky

Sevan Matossian (27:36):

In the dual? No, in the dual. In the dual. Oh,

Taylor Self (27:39):

In

Sevan Matossian (27:39):

This next event. In the next event. I mean in the one

John Young (27:41):

Should be good at the dual

Sevan Matossian (27:45):

Spin. Implied that he won’t be,

Taylor Self (27:48):

I don’t think he’s good enough at rope climbs. Well, there aren’t any. Well, we don’t know that

Sevan Matossian (27:52):

It’s That’s right

Taylor Self (27:55):

Then. Damn that. What the fuck?

John Young (28:00):

Walking between. If Pat gets past the dual without making a mistake and he’s second place or first or second place, then I think Pat’s winning this man.

Sevan Matossian (28:11):

They do have a ladder up, by the way. They do have a yellow ladder up to the top to where the ropes are now. So I don’t know. And there are no ropes up, so maybe they’re coming out there to hang them. It looks like there’s going to be some sort of strongman event next. It’s called the gender neutral log press. According to Alex,

Mattew Souza (28:28):

The nine binary log press,

John Young (28:30):

The non-binary, that ladder would not be for the strongman. Seven.

Taylor Self (28:34):

They them.

Sevan Matossian (28:36):

They them ladder. Okay, let’s go over to the women. Let’s go see this. Did we already do the

Taylor Self (28:40):

They not updated. They’ve not updated it yet. I’m wondering if there’s some type of protest.

John Young (28:45):

They were the

Sevan Matossian (28:45):

First. Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. Do they do that at Rogue? Do they have, what’s that called? Petitions

Taylor Self (28:52):

An appeal. Appeal? They do remember, didn’t wrap this last year. Rep this? Yeah, she got the redo. And Ricky after that No rep. He got a no rep yesterday on something that he appealed.

John Young (29:06):

No, I mean he still won. He

Taylor Self (29:07):

Had a back squat,

John Young (29:08):

Right? He still won the event. Why would you appeal? You still won.

Taylor Self (29:10):

Well, I think he went to the judge and said, Hey, I want to appeal that no rep. And then it was like, oh, he won the event anyways.

Sevan Matossian (29:16):

Let me ask you.

John Young (29:17):

It was like, I still want an appeal. I want people to know that I was a minute ahead of everybody.

Sevan Matossian (29:22):

Well, Z score. Good point. Let me ask you this. What was the range of motion on the top of the snatch isn’t normally traditionally the bare minimum that the bar would be cut the head in half. And then even furthermore, you got to get your head through past that point.

John Young (29:42):

I would say it just clears your ears. You can see your ears on the other side

Sevan Matossian (29:46):

Because there were people keeping the bar in the front. There were definitely people who were not getting it behind their ear. Where were the judges standing from? The angles he saw? That’s a good point. I don’t remember. And they were winning. Man on Anese was not pushing her head. All the.
