CrossFit Semifinals Day 2 Pre Show

Sevan Matossian (00:00):

When they go live in 29 minutes, we, uh, it won’t be with Chase, right? It won’t be with Chase and Adrian. They’re gonna do 30 minutes of just like, cameras rolling. And then, uh, at 6:30 AM Pacific Standard time is when Chase and Adrian will, uh, commentate the first, I guess the, the, the better athletes in Linda Bam. We’re live. Oh, how many heats is Linda? Uh, Mr. Spin?

Brian Spin (00:21):

Three. Three men. Three women.

Sevan Matossian (00:23):

Okay. Shit. 20,

John young (00:24):

20 men, 20 women each heat.

Brian Spin (00:27):

Sevan Matossian (00:27):

So, so long again. Another long one.

Brian Spin (00:31):

Yeah, yeah, yeah. About 20 minutes each heat.

Sevan Matossian (00:34):

So, and, and then, and that 20 minutes probably includes, uh, like, uh, a setup.

Brian Spin (00:38):

Yeah. Yeah. 17 minute time cap, and then four minute change. So 21 minutes each, about two hours for the whole thing.

Sevan Matossian (00:46):

Awesome. Okay. Uh, Greg Glassman. Good morning. Good to see you. Jordan Jenkins. Good morning. Um, dang, I haven’t felt this much anticipation since the birth of my last child. Let’s fucking go. Wow. Well, we, I got nothing for you this morning, <laugh>. I hit a wall yesterday and the rest of the weekend’s gonna be shit. But it’s okay. I accept, I accept it. I am a man of faith. Uh, if Rich got booted sivie with scorched the earth. Wow. Uh, the reason why I’m late is I was calling around seeing what I can reveal, because like all media, I am simply a tool and a pawn, uh, and don’t wanna burn. Um, my, uh, sources, uh, he, he was, uh, he was, uh, as dumb as Justin Berg’s answer was to the question yesterday on why they didn’t stream events one and three. Like, all he had to say is like, Hey, we don’t have the money to stream it, but don’t worry, we’re working on doing the best we can. And God bless fucking, um, uh, what’s the guy’s name? Chase and Adrian. That’s all he had to say. But instead he stumbled around like a fucking idiot. And it’s like, uh, he said, um, Hey, we’re doing it because we want to help the community and spread CrossFit to more people. Like what?

Sevan Matossian (02:01):

Sevan Matossian (02:04):

It’s so disingenuous. But so, so as dumb as that answer was, what happened to Rich yesterday, um, is, is equally, uh, that dumb. When, when the, when you guys hear that story, you will, your head will fucking explode. But it’s, it’s, it’s, uh, it’s not my story to tell, but what people are referencing is, is Andrew Hiller posted a cryptic, uh, post on his Instagram account. And what happened to Su, I thought we had a little suza somewhere. Oh, there he is. Down at the bottom. Uh, yesterday Sled is the same one used in the Army Fitness test. I give the test to over 1500 soldiers. The issue is not setting it up properly. Oh, dude. Damn. Okay. Uh, cheapest sled in the biz, man. I, I was guessing that Rogue used that sled $115 sled, because you could mail a stack of them to Africa in a fucking shoebox, right? <laugh>.

Brian Spin (03:00):

Sevan Matossian (03:02):

It’s, it’s, it’s kind of brilliant. I’d like to see one of those things rolled up in a pinch. You could make a blunt outta that <laugh>,

Brian Spin (03:09):

Sevan Matossian (03:11):

Okay. I mean, what, what do you guys think about Vincent’s? Um, uh, he has a strong profile pick. He paid money, uh, and, uh, and he’s a, he’s a military guy. He kills someone in a pinch, uh, so that I can drink coffee on the weekends, um, at an outdoor cafe.

Brian Spin (03:25):

Seems like a solid guy.

Sevan Matossian (03:27):

Yeah. Freedom.

Brian Spin (03:29):

Freedom. Yeah. I mean, I, I did have in the comments of that post I had that there were quite a few people that were from the Army that said that they had similar issues, you know, doing connect themselves. Ah, so maybe Vincent just knows how to do it better than those that commented. But,

Sevan Matossian (03:46):

Uh, Jay Chapman as Sistas, were on fire in the chat. Yeah, I, I, I wasn’t sure if I was gonna say this cuz it’s a little embarrassing, I think, but I was enjoying the chat more than the show yesterday. I, but that’s a little self-serving. But the chat was crazy, man. Zach t Landry got fucking destroyed in there.

Brian Spin (04:02):

Sevan Matossian (04:03):

Uh, uh, Joe Marco, uh, less than 60 seconds for the first CrossFit Bash. Nice. Oh, before they, um, so Linda did start. Can you pull that? What do you guys wanna do? Let’s look at Hillary’s post real quick. And then we doing, we doing

Brian Spin (04:16):

Sevan Matossian (04:17):

Yeah. And then we’ll go over and we’ll look at the stream for like seven seconds and we’ll get John and, uh, Mr. Smith’s take on the setup on where the equipment’s set up. And then we only have John for a few minutes. I’d like to, uh, ask John who’s in the top 12 on each men and women who’s not gonna be there later. Okay. So Andrew Hiller post, uh, uh, another, just another Nauseatingly beautiful picture of the fucking goat, uh, Hiller Fit. Has anyone seen Rich Froning supporting Mayhem Athlete? The CrossFit Games, these semi-finals. He’s in the, he’s in the live chat. Basically Hillary’s saying is like, listen, no one has seen this motherfucker. He is, he is nearby, but how come no one can see him? And, and because Andrew knows that he got kicked out. I wrote, he’s under a pile of babies.

Uh, he’s under a pile of people signing autographs, kissing babies, and taking photos long live the goat. Then Andrew responds with, have you seen that? And it’s Andrew’s way of saying, no, he is not, cuz he is not at the fucking venue. Uh, he did the, the rumors ares that he got kicked out yesterday. And, and there’s, there’s variations to that story, but the variations don’t matter. Um, Le leave Rich alone. Like, like, let, let, let him let the people, right? I mean, he, he’s a, everywhere he goes, he’s adding value, right? Every athlete is there, every athlete loves him, right? Every fan loves him. Everyone just wants to like, just see him. Oh, look, there’s Rich. Anyone not like Rich? There’s not one fucking bad story about him. You guys, do you guys know any bad stories about Rich? Nope.

Brian Spin (05:47):

People blocked me on Instagram years ago. But

Sevan Matossian (05:51):

What an asshole. <laugh> I heard one time he was saving 12 babies from a burning building and he dropped one. And only why did he,

John young (05:59):

Why did he block you, Ryan?

Sevan Matossian (06:01):

That’s a

Brian Spin (06:01):

Good question. Uh, you remember 2019 in the zigzag sprint?

John young (06:06):

Mm-hmm. <affirmative>,

Brian Spin (06:06):

He, uh, I, I was given a tip that he s stepped on the line. It was, um, he posed that he stepped on the line and was, I was told that that was, they were told in the teams that they weren’t supposed to do it. It got back and forth and he didn’t like that. I said he should have gotten penalized.

John young (06:26):

Oh, he didn’t get penalized,

Brian Spin (06:28):

Huh? He did not.

John young (06:29):

He didn’t penalized. That’s, that’s

Brian Spin (06:29):

Where, where Vener and Brook Wells got penalties and ended up missing out on the top 10.

Sevan Matossian (06:35):

Spin was Hiller before there was a Hiller <laugh>

Sevan Matossian (06:39):

Original. Yeah.

Brian Spin (06:40):

Yeah. Even, even, uh, castor jumped in the comments on, on that post way back at then.

Sevan Matossian (06:45):

Hey, did, uh, did he slap you around for it? Or did he thank you for it?

Brian Spin (06:49):

Uh, Castro said that the, the standards were different for the teams and individuals.

Sevan Matossian (06:54):

Um, that’s interest,

John young (06:55):

Man. That feels like they’ve been in the rules for their guy <laugh>. Yeah,

Sevan Matossian (06:58):

It sure does. Oh my God, I don’t think all that’s pretty stupid. That’s pretty stupid. What’s the rationale? Hey, let’s just stick here for a second. <laugh>, has that ever happened? Sorry, rich, which we love you, but here has that, have you there ever been different rules like that for team versus, um, individual

John young (07:16):

When Rich is competing?

Brian Spin (07:18):

I I mean, it, it was, it was interesting and, and I was told by other teams, uh, when I tried to to fact check that that was actually not true. That they all had the same thing that you need to stay in the line. Um,

Sevan Matossian (07:30):

Richard, uh, Dave claims he’s never commented on an Instagram post. He, he just said that, uh, recently that he is never commented.

Brian Spin (07:39):

I I can go back and find it for you.

Sevan Matossian (07:41):

Wow. Oh yeah, I would like that. I’d send that over to his ass and be like, listen, somebody, because he’s a purveyor, he tell, he lets me know he’s a purveyor of the truth. Uh, one more thing interesting is that I, I don’t know your origin story, but I heard you came on the scene strong. For those who don’t know, barbell Spin has taken over, uh, the scene for CrossFit news. That, I mean that, uh, with the death of, uh, with the, with the Aing, sorry, death is a little premature with the alien Morning chalk up and, um, and other people being such specialists in the space, like me and Hillary, uh, spin is completely taken over for, uh, the news for CrossFit. Um, uh, I dunno what’s going on at Talking Elite Fitness if it’s, I dunno what they’re doing, but, uh, spins the guy is, is that true, Susa?

Sevan Matossian (08:29):

Yeah. I actually, uh, double clicked on your Instagram cuz there were so many followers. I was like, wait, is this the right, is this the right one?

Sevan Matossian (08:35):

It’s the stop. Like if you, if you care about, if like you’re obsessed with CrossFit, like there’s this site called Mac Rumors that I always go to that has all the rumors for Apple computers, and I always go there. If you, if you’re in, if you are interested about CrossFit, like would you would wake up every morning and just check spin’s, uh, accounts. Um, is, so I heard a rumor that you came on the scene and that something happened and, and, and, and people started beating up on you. So you left. Was it that? No. Oh, okay. That’s not true. Okay, so that wasn’t the incident. It wasn’t that you criticized Rich and then you got ass pounded and left the scene?

Brian Spin (09:05):

No. No. Okay.

Sevan Matossian (09:06):

Okay. Alright. All right. Fine, fine. We’ll get to that story sometime. Okay. Uh, so there’s that with, uh, rich Froning. Um, what was the other thing we were gonna look at before we go to the leaderboard? Oh, Linda, let’s go, let’s check out their stream and see if the stream is

Brian Spin (09:20):

Up. They’re, they don’t start till top of the hour.

Sevan Matossian (09:22):

Okay, fine. Then let’s pull up the, uh, list of athletes. Are, are you gentlemen okay with this? Uh, I just wanna ask you guys, um, who’s not gonna be on there? Uh, come, uh, in this top 12 come Sunday morning. Uh, you, you can start with either men or women, doesn’t matter. Okay, here we go. I’ll go through the list. You guys tell me if they’re gonna be there. Uh, we’ll do the, um, how many women go? 11? Yes. Okay, so we’ll just go to 11. You tell me who’s gonna be there and who’s gonna not. Uh, Emma care at the,

John young (09:48):

At the end of day two, uh,

Sevan Matossian (09:50):

No, sorry, end of day three,

John young (09:52):

So Oh, the whole competition?

Sevan Matossian (09:53):

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Uh, Emma Carey. Yep. Okay. Emma Lawson. Yep. Amanda Barnhardt.

John young (10:00):

Sevan Matossian (10:00):

Danielle, Brandon.

John young (10:02):

Sevan Matossian (10:03):

God, I like you guys. This good games are gonna be easy here. Uh, Alexis Raptors. Yep. Uh, fi Za si otherwise known as Fisi.

John young (10:14):

She, she’s gonna be on the line.

Sevan Matossian (10:16):

Okay. So that’s the, that’s the player that we need to watch her all weekend. That’s where the excitement is

John young (10:20):

Today is not gonna be good for her. And then tomorrow’s, there’s a really, a good one. And, uh, middle

Brian Spin (10:27):

Of the road one. That may be tough. So yeah,

Sevan Matossian (10:29):

For obvious reasons. Uh, Linda, what’s workout? Um, oh, is workout four and fiber today?

John young (10:35):

Yeah. Yeah.

Brian Spin (10:37):

A lot of points.

Sevan Matossian (10:38):

And you’re saying Linda, for obvious reasons, it’s, it’s moving a lot of weight and then Y four and five,

John young (10:44):

So it’s a max snatch V is smaller. Her back snatches not, it’s not gonna be her best score of the event. And then the other one is eight snatches at 1 25 and then an 800 meter run. It’s just very sprinty. I just don’t see her doing good in any of the three today. And then the gymnastics one, she should do great. And then the other one is a power output one, but if every, but she’ll do those 20 toes tomorrow. I’m broken. I actually think she’ll be okay on that one on the last event. So depending where she’s at after event six, like she’s gonna be teetering on the line. I I kind of think she’ll be out of the top 12 by the end of day two and then she’ll be back in it by the end of day three.

Sevan Matossian (11:26):

Um, spin what if she does do well today? It, it’ll be a huge statement, right? That something happened in the off season.

Brian Spin (11:33):

I think she’ll do better in the event five with the finishing on the 800 meter run. Um, but I do think that Linda will, will get her and push her down a little bit and then the max will as well. So, um, I, I see you’re probably in that 10th 11 spot at the end of the day. And uh, I think it’ll come down to that last, the last workout honestly

Sevan Matossian (11:55):

Does, if there’s gonna be a handstand pushup workout, we know Alexis RTUs is probably gonna win. Does Fee have any specialist skills like that? Does she have a superpower?

Brian Spin (12:04):

I, I recall she did pretty well. Ring

John young (12:06):

Sevan Matossian (12:07):

Ring Mus. She got, she she’s good at ’em. Yeah,

Brian Spin (12:10):

I think she’ll be good on, on, uh, number six.

Sevan Matossian (12:13):

Okay. Uh, uh, great interview. She’s

John young (12:16):

Pretty filthy at any gymnastic.

Sevan Matossian (12:18):

Yeah, a great interview by the way. I, I think she’s been on the show at least once. She’s cool as shit. Uh, Carolyn, uh, Stanley? No. Uh, no she’s not. She’s not hanging around. Mm-hmm.

Brian Spin (12:29):

No, I think she, I think she’ll be right outside.

Sevan Matossian (12:31):

Uh, how old is she?

John young (12:34):

I don’t know. Brian, do you know

Brian Spin (12:36):

Sevan Matossian (12:37):

If Susie hit the plus button, we’ll know. Yeah, 23.

John young (12:40):

23. She relatively young. Yeah, she

Brian Spin (12:43):

Was right out. She just missed out last year, I think at Granite Games.

Sevan Matossian (12:47):

Okay, so she has a future. Oh, she’s little.

Brian Spin (12:50):

Yeah. I mean I think her and Fee are the same.

Sevan Matossian (12:52):

Yeah. Okay. Uh, Paige Powers?

John young (12:55):

Yes. Yes.

Sevan Matossian (12:57):

Um, lemme write Caroline’s name down Stanley, uh, uh, Danielle, uh, co Kerns?

John young (13:04):

Brian Spin (13:05):

Sevan Matossian (13:06):

Gone too, huh?

John young (13:09):

Yeah. Anybody who’s not a known name and has a 30th place in a third place, or like a very high finish and a very, very low finish on one of the events, I’m just going to say no.

Sevan Matossian (13:20):

John young (13:20):

Because then they just, they got a home run workout and the rest of the workouts will be not as good. They’ll be like the first workout.

Sevan Matossian (13:30):

Um, Amanda Fisher

John young (13:32):

Sevan Matossian (13:33):

Toast. Uh, Jessica Schwartz.

Brian Spin (13:36):

I think she was,

John young (13:37):

Yeah. Uh, if she was like fifth then I would say yes right now, but she’s right up the cut line, so I think people would jump her.

Brian Spin (13:45):

And Hiller knows her, right? Isn’t she the one that did the demo workouts for the open?

John young (13:51):

I don’t know.

Sevan Matossian (13:53):

Uh, and then, uh, Carolyn Prevo. Oh yeah. Yeah. I think you’re right. You’re right. Spin. I think I did hear him say that. Uh, Carolyn Prevo?

Brian Spin (14:00):

I think so.

Sevan Matossian (14:01):

No, you say no, huh? Brian? Uh huh John?

John young (14:04):

Sevan Matossian (14:06):

John young (14:06):

I just don’t think, I don’t think she will.

Sevan Matossian (14:08):

So, so you think Go ahead. Spin.

Brian Spin (14:11):

She got screwed over on, she was one of the same people that had the, uh, the plate issue on, on workout one. Uh, she ended up appealing it and then, uh, got, was denied by CrossFit. However, they did not take away one of her appeals, which is kind of interesting.

Sevan Matossian (14:30):

E explain that, gimme more detail on that. So

Brian Spin (14:32):

This year you had two, two appeals, right? So if you miss, if you had one denied you, you know, you only had one left. Yeah. And, uh, she ap she appealed because she said that, you know, her judge would not let her go fix the, the sled to get it back underneath the weights. She appealed it. She was denied late last night. Um, but she keeps her two appeals, which is counter to what’s supposed to happen.

Sevan Matossian (14:57):

Oh, that’s interesting. Uh, any thoughts on why that would happen?

Brian Spin (15:02):

Probably cuz they didn’t know how to actually failed or solve it or if there was a lot of issues. So they’re like, we’re not gonna change it, but we’re also not gonna take it away. Appeal is how I interpret that.

Sevan Matossian (15:11):

I feel like the games has gotten a lot of, uh, like, Hey, let’s just do the spirit of what’s right. Like just lift, go ahead and lift the sandbag as many times as you want. Don’t cross the line. Well, what if I do? You just don’t <laugh>,

Brian Spin (15:23):

Just don’t. I think that’s the problem when you get so many rules in there Yeah. That you set yourself up to have to make adjustments for every single possible.

John young (15:31):

It’s possible to enforce them all.

Brian Spin (15:33):

It, it’s, it’s why Dave never tried to keep it as simple as possible so that you had those judgment calls. Yeah. Whereas now you have so many different rules and different things you could point to that say that this isn’t right and then they go back and say, well it’s, you know, that’s what you’re supposed to do. But we don’t have a penalty for it. Like, stepping back on on the polls yesterday or you

John young (15:55):

Go back, uh, Jeff Adler was in front of the line on his last one. He was front of the line the whole time and then he stepped behind the red line to, to pull it to the red line. No, I agree. I think they, it’s impossible to enforce if you have a million rules if somebody figures out a way to do it. If Neil Maddox lifts the sled and he pushes it faster than everybody else, good for him. He thought he was smarter.

Sevan Matossian (16:20):

Uh, I, I don’t know what the mechanism is. I don’t know what the physics are, but it is easier to pull a sled with the rope the closer you are to the sled.

Brian Spin (16:27):

John young (16:27):

Yeah. <laugh>. Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (16:29):

So, uh, it, it, um, yeah, it’s not good for the fans that we, we need, we need rules. We, we, we, because it’s, it’s what makes it a game for us in a sport. We need people competing and we need rules. It, it, it’s a little weird. Uh, lucky camera straps. Justin Berg said, Hey, good morning. Lucky Justin Berg said they were going to make great highlight packages instead to reach more people. But the highlights packages for team three, uh, uh, for sorry for team test three sucked. Dude, the whole thing doesn’t make sense. Why wouldn’t they show it and do highlight packages and then make them so they don’t suck? And none of it, none of it. Uh, it just sucks that so many that so many people are just lying and just can’t be sincere. I guess he was sincere when he said that the occupational games didn’t matter. Cuz those people don’t matter. They’re onto more pressing things. Like the guys with one Arms and the dudes in wheelchairs and they have the VLAs for d d Does the CrossFit games have a a a a no Bladder control class <laugh>? Is there a, uh, that’s a, a lane that has a slip and slide? Everyone, uh, works out on a slip and slide <laugh>?

Brian Spin (17:43):

No, but what, what I would say is the only thing they have that’s not live on their YouTube page team test three final heat. So they’re not even doing highlights. Like if you, if that’s really what you mean, go make a highlight, you know, a one or two minute highlight of every single test for individuals and teams. Right. Just flood YouTube with highlights.

Sevan Matossian (18:06):

Yep. And, and Instagram. Give it to all the athletes.

Brian Spin (18:09):

Sevan Matossian (18:10):

Oh, um, going back to this, to wrap this up. So basically if I’m hearing you guys write, you guys think sfi uh, Carolyn Prevo and, uh, Shelby Neal are the athletes to watch? If you want some drama?

Brian Spin (18:25):

I think, I mean, I, I think as

John young (18:27):

Far as the cut line, I mean, I think those are good.

Sevan Matossian (18:29):

Um, I mean, that’s where the fund’s gonna be right at the cut line.

John young (18:32):

And so I, yeah, those are good names to watch. Uh, Shelby today will be a great day for Shelby, and today will be a bad day for Fi. Uh, Carolyn Prevo is probably gonna be in the middle and they’re all gonna be around that cut line come day three. And then it’s just gonna be who’s gonna get it? We don’t know.

Sevan Matossian (18:48):

Uh, for, and for those of you who don’t know, that is what makes the semi-finals a little different than the games. The games, you know, you’re looking at who’s gonna win or who’s gonna get on the podium. But for semi-finals, it take, it always took me a couple years to, to figure this out, or a couple semi-finals every year. Really all the excitement and interest happens down at the cut line because that’s where all the tension starts to build, uh, on Sunday when they make the announcement. So that’s really where you wanna watch. Uh, Shelby Neal is, uh, uh, a redheaded girl who destroyed semifinals last year and had failure on the rope. Carolyn Preo Prevo is a staple in the CrossFit space in some argue, maybe the, uh, greatest, you know, a athlete in the bunch, uh, totally competent, uh, mover and, uh, fea GFI is, um, you know, I, I don’t wanna say Rebecca Fu small, but, but we got a little bit of that spieler thing going. She’s tiny and she’s kind of, that’s a great

John young (19:38):

Sevan Matossian (19:39):

A David and Goliath story. And uh, and so there’s a lot of, uh, she’s a fan favorite for a lot of people and an an incredible personality, a really charming, uh, character. Yeah. Alright, uh, let’s roll over to the, uh, boys.

John young (19:54):

This one will be fine

Sevan Matossian (19:55):

And you will be able to see this contrary to what was publicized. You will be able to see Linda, um, it will go up, the feed will go up in nine minutes, but then, uh, tho that will be the, the first heat will be the ass heat and uh, we’ll still be live on the air a little bit. And then after that, uh, chase and Adrian Conway will come in and, uh, comment on the, um, non ass heats. Okay. Uh ha. Have they reseeded?

John young (20:23):

I, yeah, it’s updated. Yeah. Oh, you’re talking about for the heats?

Sevan Matossian (20:26):

John young (20:28):

Do you know this Ryan for a fact?

Brian Spin (20:30):

Uh, yeah, they do reseed. I can tell you. Uh, I have the heats

Sevan Matossian (20:34):

Here. Okay, that’s fine. I’m just curious if they reseed. So we’ll see those. So we’ll see those cats go together.

John young (20:39):

Romans in the second heat,

Sevan Matossian (20:41):

No shit.

John young (20:43):

I, I guess not for Linda. No, but for, uh, four and five he will.

Sevan Matossian (20:48):

Yeah. Why? Because he is gonna sit the bed here.

John young (20:50):

No, he’s, no, because below each day he is.

Sevan Matossian (20:54):

Oh. Because there’ll be fewer people out on the, um, court, uh, on the field. Okay. I’m

John young (20:59):

Four and five.

Sevan Matossian (21:00):

Jeffrey Adler.

John young (21:01):

Sevan Matossian (21:03):

John young (21:04):

Sevan Matossian (21:04):

John young (21:06):

Sevan Matossian (21:07):

God, how cool. Pepper’s gonna go to the CrossFit games. Is this, did he go last year? Did you?

Brian Spin (21:13):

Yeah. Yeah. Do you not think he was going to?

Sevan Matossian (21:15):

I, I don’t know. I I just remember, I guess it was two years ago he didn’t go and it was like, I was shocked. It’s crazy. He’s doing it. He’s such a young man now. Two years. Now’s

John young (21:23):

Nolan’s really, really good.

Brian Spin (21:25):

So, you know, we talked about all the teen athletes. He commented in a post somewhere, uh, recently, this last week saying that 2020 was kind of a dark year for him when it comes to competing.

Sevan Matossian (21:37):

Did he say why?

Brian Spin (21:38):

Just the transition from teens to a, you know, the open division. He just had a little bit and he, nobody really noticed it cuz it was during Covid.

Sevan Matossian (21:49):

Okay, well good. I like that.

Brian Spin (21:52):

Sevan Matossian (21:53):

I like, I like, I like a a a dark year. Uh, Molly. Uh, sorry gentlemen, I have to go, but I’ll leave $20 here. Well, thank you. Keep being the best. Evon. I’ll do my best. You make me laugh every day. Oh, that’s awesome. I love that. Uh, Cody Lovelace. I just ordered my paper street coffee. They gave me $5 seven on discount, so I’m passing it along, dude. That’s crazy. Cool. Thank you. Paper streete coffee. Uh, you get your testosterone, uh, over at uh, ca or your peptides. Get your peptides. I want someone to start doing the peptides and tell me how that works. Uh, where’s Don Fail? Oh yeah, I think you got, I think it’s fall. I think you spelled that wrong, Frank. Uh, 4 4 99. Um, uh, will Moad?

John young (22:40):

Yes, I think so.

Sevan Matossian (22:42):

Uh, when’s the last time Will Mo went to the games

John young (22:46):

Last year?

Sevan Matossian (22:47):

All right. Uh, Alex EO

Brian Spin (22:49):

Knocked out James Sprague last year with the

John young (22:51):

Yeah, he had the 80 point comeback. Who’s Alex eo?

Sevan Matossian (22:57):

Yes. Uh, when’s the last time he’s been to the games?

John young (23:01):

Last year. Last year.

Sevan Matossian (23:03):

Brian Spin (23:03):

Just keep an eye out for him. We’ll talk about more tomorrow. But, uh, his, his wall facing handstand pushups were very, very bad and he barely got in because of those

Sevan Matossian (23:13):

Brian Spin (23:14):

During, during quarter finals.

John young (23:15):

I think he’ll have enough of a lead though. Like it’s, he can bomb that event.

Sevan Matossian (23:19):

No. Olson?

John young (23:21):

Sevan Matossian (23:22):

When’s the last time he’s been to the games

John young (23:25):

Last year?

Sevan Matossian (23:26):

Is this Noahs last year?

John young (23:29):

It could be, yes.

Brian Spin (23:30):

That’s what he’s, at least on the individual side,

Sevan Matossian (23:32):

People are saying he’s not, um, he’s not gonna make it this year. Any chance of that?

John young (23:37):

No. He’ll make it,

Sevan Matossian (23:38):

Uh, Samwell. Kova?

John young (23:41):

Yep. Yep.

Sevan Matossian (23:42):

Team last year. Oh, James Sprague. Nope. Don’t, oh

John young (23:47):

No, it’s gonna, it’s gonna be a heartbreaker too.

Sevan Matossian (23:51):

Come on. Boy. Spin.

Brian Spin (23:53):

I, I want him to, so I’m gonna say he is gonna sneak in there. Um, he’ll be

John young (23:58):

Lying to yourself.

Brian Spin (24:00):

He’ll be fine. This, this morning. Um, um, number four, the, the max natural, we’ll push him back down and I think he’ll be fine the rest of the way.

John young (24:09):

Um, I think the next four events will all be bad.

Brian Spin (24:13):

Oh man.

Sevan Matossian (24:14):

Hater <laugh>.

John young (24:16):

That’s not problem. I mean, he, he on the, on the eight snatchers and the 800 meter run, I think he’ll be okay. But other than that one, I think these will all be like below 15th.

Sevan Matossian (24:27):

Uh, Jake Chapman question. Do you feel that paying our affiliate fees and open registration should go some way as to paying for media at semis and games? I mean, it does, right? I mean, that’s, that’s gotta be what’s going on. Something like that. Yeah. Um,

Brian Spin (24:41):

I mean the, the African registrations in Asia for semi-finals was going to CrossFit to run the media for the Northeast or North America East.

Sevan Matossian (24:52):

Uh, I, I’m, I’m here. I’m, I I heard a rumor that there’s only 8,000 affiliates. I do not know if that’s true, but if that is true, that would explain why, uh, events one and three aren’t being aired. Call her. Hi,

John young (25:03):

<laugh>. Hey Savan. Hi, my name’s Laura, my husband over here. We’re Sam.

Sevan Matossian (25:11):

Hi. Good morning. Thank you. Appreciate it.

John young (25:13):

Yeah, I wanted to call in cause I, I keep thinking about this. And do you know what happened to doing away with the five 11 vest? Because, I don’t know, I feel like a ruck doesn’t make a lot of sense, a lot in the workouts that they use them in. And I just, I feel like they were, they were using those, the weighted vest for so long and all of a sudden they dropped off the face of the earth. So I just didn’t know if you guys knew anything about that. I

Sevan Matossian (25:37):

Don’t know much about Rucking. I know Dave’s always been into Rucking since, as far as I can know, uh, since as far as I’ve known him, um, before even like, you know, that company was around Go Ruck was around, uh, just with his military background. Um, I have supposedly the Rucks are better for your knee. I I don’t think I necessarily, uh, believe that I’ve never enjoyed wearing a backpack. Um, I I, I don’t have an answer for you, but I would be willing to bet. It just all comes down to sponsorship dollars.

John young (26:06):

I, whoever sponsors the event,

Sevan Matossian (26:08):

Right? I mean, there’s no reason there should be a torque tank in any, in any CrossFit event. It, there, it makes absolutely zero sense. And yet if you pay enough money, you can get your toy in there.

John young (26:20):

I totally agree with that. We actually saw one of those at our gym the other day and I was like, what? <laugh>.

Sevan Matossian (26:25):

And some people say it’s a great training implement. That’s fine. That’s cool. But we actually saw people today, uh, or yesterday win the event. Um, be be because, uh, it was a, it was a sled and like Jason Hopper and James Ra and that would not have happened if it was a door tank, there would’ve been no drama. Yeah, no. So

John young (26:44):

Correct. So go ahead. Well, are you gonna make it over to the games this year so we can

Sevan Matossian (26:47):

Fuck with you? Fuck no <laugh>.

John young (26:49):

Fuck no.

Sevan Matossian (26:52):

Fuck no. Hey. But, uh, if you’re ever in Santa Cruz, uh, I I would, we can go to the beach and collect shelves.

John young (26:58):

Hundred percent. That’s, we’re gonna make that happen. We’ll

Sevan Matossian (27:01):

Put booze in, in styrofoam cups and walk around.

John young (27:04):

Savon, I have a big favor to ask you actually. And all the guys on the show. I am actually in the running to be on the cover of Muscle and Fitness. Hers and I, you know, I’m a CrossFitter and I would love to represent the sport. Um, but it’s funny because it’s really not a <laugh>, it’s not about how you look. I am a pro natural bodybuilder, but basically it’s all based on votes. It’s a popularity contest at this point. So if I were to drop you guys the link Yes. Into your dm. Yes. Would you guys vote for Ring?

Sevan Matossian (27:33):

Yes. Hey, why don’t you drop, why don’t you drop it? Why don’t you drop it in the chat right now and let everyone in the chat vote for you. You’re, you’re natural, right?

John young (27:42):

Yes. Natural pro bodybuilder. I’m my own coach. I’ve never had a coach. I’ve done it all myself. Had a great time with it. I’ve been kinda doing it on and off for 10 years. Um,

Sevan Matossian (27:51):

What about, what about if you ain’t cheating? You ain’t trying,

John young (27:55):

Right? No, I don’t know about that. Um, but no natural. And I’ll drop you guys the link. I’ll drop it in the chat. Do I just go on YouTube and drop it? Yes. Cause I’m watching you guys live on the mic tv. Yes. But okay, so we’ll just go on my phone and drop it in.

Sevan Matossian (28:10):

Yeah, just drop the link in there. Yeah. And then, uh, if Caleb or Suza sees it, um, they’ll even copy copy it and maybe post it and we can scroll it on the bottom there.

John young (28:20):

Oh my gosh, you literally are making my day. It’s funny because you vote every day, there’s so many weeks to go, but if we just get everyone voting once a day or they, um, partnered with Wounded Warrior Project, which, um, builds houses for extremely injured veterans that have wheelchairs and need wider doorways. Um, you can donate through that too as well. And that goes towards my boats as well. Totally Not, you know, appreciated but not expected whatsoever. Just wanted to throw that out there, that they do have that partnership with them and yeah, I, I, that is just like making my day that you guys will post that for me. Thank you so much.

Sevan Matossian (28:54):

You’re welcome. Thanks for calling.

John young (28:56):

Awesome. Savons. So awesome to talk to you. You just made our days <laugh>.

Sevan Matossian (29:00):

Thank you.

John young (29:01):

All right, bye Savon.

Sevan Matossian (29:02):

Bye. And it’s gonna make my day when, um, Suza pulls up that picture of you in a bikini. Okay.

John young (29:08):

Savon, I gotta, I gotta

Sevan Matossian (29:09):

Bounce. No, no, no. He’s gonna pull up a picture of that collar in a bikini. Where you going? The fuck are you going, <laugh>?

John young (29:14):

It’s okay. All right. I have to be there for the morning class today. All right.

Sevan Matossian (29:18):

All right, fine. Thank you for being here.

John young (29:21):

All right. Sorry guys. I’ll be back in the afternoon.

Sevan Matossian (29:23):

Okay. Thank you. I appreciate it. All right, so

Brian Spin (29:24):

You’re leaving Spragues back in, so we’re

Sevan Matossian (29:26):

Fine. Okay. Yeah. Uh oh. Sprague. Sprague. Yeah. Yeah. Isn’t that cool? Someone calls and now we’re gonna see ’em, like only partially clothed. Hey, do you remember what the name of the website was? Was it No, she’s gonna, she’s gonna, uh, it was some weird name. It was like a, a a a, a change on the muscle and fitness name, but I think she’s gonna put post a link in the, in the comments. Okay. In the comments. Roger that, uh, Alex Bridgeforth seems like Roman isn’t going to be close to Justin. Oh, he’s talking about it at the games? Yeah.
