Sevan Matossian (00:00):
Yeah. Bam. We’re live. Usually they’re just point, uh, usually they’re just pouring in right away.
Taylor Self (00:07):
No idea. Are we in the wrong thing?
Sevan Matossian (00:10):
Maybe we’re in the wrong studio.
Taylor Self (00:12):
This is published. No, here we go. 58 viewers. We’re good.
Sevan Matossian (00:16):
Yeah, that could just be because, yeah. Do you not see any comments? I don’t see any comments. I don’t
Taylor Self (00:20):
See any comments either.
Sevan Matossian (00:22):
Uh, live viewers show up on Streamy Yard, this example, click on the comment to show on a screen. Hmm. Can’t post comments to some destiny. Hmm.
Taylor Self (00:30):
Drop your dirtiest comments if you’re watching
Sevan Matossian (00:33):
<laugh>. Uh, guys, uh, while we wait, uh, it looks like they’ve moved to Flagler. Uh, we’re waiting. There you go. For, uh, Heidi and Suza. Okay, here we go. Hey, did, did anything seem wrong with the stream with you guys? Does everything seem normal? Okay, Heidi, what’s up girl?
Heidi Crume (00:51):
Hi. How’s it
Sevan Matossian (00:52):
Going? Are you in? Uh, is this your normal seat that you’re in?
Heidi Crume (00:56):
It’s my spot, normal spot out here for like, couple hours already.
Sevan Matossian (01:05):
Alright. Any anyone hit on you while you’re just sitting there?
Heidi Crume (01:08):
No. I’m surrounded by a bunch of dudes, so they’re kind of scaring off all the hose
Taylor Self (01:13):
Have, oh, we haven’t started yet. It’s RX teams or somewhere.
Sevan Matossian (01:17):
You’re sitting by a bunch of dudes, so they’re scaring off the hose. Yeah, but have they, are they talking to you or are they friendly dudes?
Heidi Crume (01:23):
They know me.
Sevan Matossian (01:25):
Oh. Oh, they’re
Heidi Crume (01:27):
Not the right, they’re not the right kind of
Sevan Matossian (01:28):
Dudes. Oh, they’re being like fatherly, like protecting you from Oh, my favorite kind of dude.
Heidi Crume (01:35):
Sevan Matossian (01:36):
Uh, has anyone bought You can, can you drink beer up there?
Heidi Crume (01:39):
Can I what? Can
Sevan Matossian (01:40):
You drink beer up there?
Heidi Crume (01:42):
Oh, yeah. People are drinking today. A lot of people
Sevan Matossian (01:44):
Are. Okay. And has it gotten cold?
Heidi Crume (01:47):
It’s getting chilly. Everyone cracked their winter here. Um, the sun is hiding behind the building and starting to go down, so I think it’s just gonna get colder from here on out.
Sevan Matossian (01:57):
Okay. And what is on the, um, what is on the field right now? The field of play?
Heidi Crume (02:04):
This is the Rx teams of three of males. Um, I think it’s the second heat of them, so I think after this they’ll be done.
Sevan Matossian (02:15):
Okay, cool. All right. Thank you, Heidi.
Heidi Crume (02:19):
Sevan Matossian (02:20):
Uh, Mr. Suza. What’s up buddy?
Mattew Souza (02:23):
Yo. Hey, sorry guys. I’m late, but Sivan, you’ll actually love this. I got stopped in the, uh, lobby by a wonderful couple named Netty and Grant, who was actually, she was actually really good looking. They both were. And, uh, she said, Sivan always says that he wants people that are non CrossFitters to watch the, that listen to the show. And she said that they are that couple and that they, uh, he says, never doubt your ability. You’re surrounded by really good people, and she’s excited to see where this thing goes in the future. And they’re huge fans.
Sevan Matossian (02:52):
Oh, that’s awesome.
Mattew Souza (02:53):
So that’s why I’m just trailing a little bit behind, so I apologize guys.
Sevan Matossian (02:55):
Hey, that’s worth it. That’s worth it. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, speaking good people. Jacqueline Robinson, my friend Amanda, who outsmarted you guys earlier with math is 100% not juice or boosted. If she was that math would’ve given her a stroke. She’s also a strong badass. You guys are awesome. Uh, that is the second time in a row that I have claimed that men are better at math, and I have been proven wrong. What’s interesting about saying that men are better at math than women are better at math is some people might think that that’s misogynistic. That’s actually not misogynistic. You don’t know the defin definition of the word. That’s actually a hypothesis of a scientific, uh, problem that can be solved. We could test, uh, men at math and we could test women at math, and who’s ever better than we could say, you know, just make the prediction that they’re better.
There is no truth in science. Anyone who thinks there is has no idea what science is. It’s based on its predictive value. You could do the same thing with English and, uh, reading. A lot of people think that young kids, uh, girls are better at English and reading, and, uh, little boys are better at math. It’s just something that’s been tested over time. And there’s the, the hypothesis has been tested, and now it’s science. It is still not truth. It doesn’t mean that all men are better at math. It does not. And twice I’ve been fucking schooled on this show. But since we are talking about what misogyny is, I do wanna show you what misogyny is. Misogyny is not, when Donald Trump owned the mis universe pageant, and he said things like, I’d like to grab that woman’s pussy. What that is, is that’s an older man being crass, saying stuff when he, maybe he didn’t think a camera was listening, and they call that locker room talk something that you kind of don’t want around.
Uh, you, you don’t wanna to think about your leaders as saying you want to, uh, hold them maybe to a, a, a different standard. But let me tell you, all the men in, in, in your life, um, if they haven’t ever been a mount around a man who says that, then they haven’t been around a very, uh, wide breadth and depth of men. Because to hear something like that as a man in a locker room or sometime in your life is, it’s, it’s, it’s, it’s not a big deal. I’m sorry, but let me show you what misogyny is. Donald Trump no longer owns the Mis Universe Pageant. Miss Universe Pageant is now owned by another man. It was purchased three days ago for 20 million. And this man is a misogynist. And I’m gonna show you why this man has now made it so that women can, uh, men can now enter the Miss Universe pageant. This man, the misogynist, has bought the Mis universe pageant for 20 million, and now men can enter the competition that was for women only. And I can only think of one reason he must hate women. Why would you take something that’s for women only and now allow men to enter it forever?
John Young (05:53):
From now on, it’s gonna be ran by women.
Sevan Matossian (05:56):
Uh, this man is now lying to you and saying that the Miss Universe pageant is gonna be run now by women. This is a man who’s talking people. This is a man’s, actually a man’s talking. Men now own a misogynistic man now owns the mis universe pageant. And once again, men will dominate everything they’re involved in. And probably a woman will never win the mis universe pageant again. We’re more beautiful than you. I, I, according to some people, look it, here we go.
John Young (06:27):
Owned by a transwoman for all women.
Sevan Matossian (06:32):
This man is now telling you that he owns it for all women. It’s for you that we’re letting men enter.
Look at these women in the audience clapping. Oh my God, we’re so excited that men can now win our contest. I can’t wait till this shit comes CrossFit. Please. All right. This is gonna be so fun. This is misogyny. If you wanna use words based on their definition. Yeah. Here we go. Jacqueline Robinson. Here we go. Uh, men are better at everything including being women. Yeah, it’s, it, it’s, it’s, that’s not misogynistic to say. I mean, it is misogynistic. Oh, it’s such a cluster. Fuck. What a fucking cluster fuck. But, but part of me is just thoroughly enjoying it. But that’s what misogyny is. You have to understand that if you wanna use words correctly by the definition of what words mean, I mean, you can, you could say, uh, sev on, you’re an ask close-minded asshole. Okay? That that’s fair. But that is misogyny. When you have a man come in to a woman’s event and start pushing the women out based on their, uh, vaginas,
Taylor Self (07:33):
Dude, I could win.
Sevan Matossian (07:34):
Yeah. You fuck dude, dominate. Hey, let me tell you something. Uh, you’re, you’re, you could sell enough SMTP the next five years that you could buy that shit,
Taylor Self (07:44):
Dude. So, for 20 million, I can go on. So you can put his, put his dick on stage. He’s calling it a vagina.
Sevan Matossian (07:51):
It’s fu it’s, we live in a, is
Taylor Self (07:53):
That the guy who bought
Sevan Matossian (07:54):
It? Yeah, that’s the guy who bought it. That’s the owner we
Taylor Self (07:56):
Yeman. He said, Wayman,
Sevan Matossian (07:58):
Ven, don’t be racist. Don’t be racist.
Taylor Self (08:00):
I’m not being racist. It was hilarious.
Sevan Matossian (08:02):
Yeah. Okay, good. Okay. Uh, so that’s it. I I I’ve started every show today with a tidbit of, uh, interesting facts, right? Today we talked about, you know, science, and we’re doing all sorts of fun stuff. I, I know feminist cheering for men, pretending to be women. <laugh>. Holy
Taylor Self (08:19):
Sevan Matossian (08:20):
Funny. Amanda, the math professor in the house. Alright. Okay, fine. It’s just, it’s just, uh, I just don’t, I just, what’s wrong with these people? I mean, I’m, I’m okay with the, uh, dude. O I’m okay with it. I’m okay with the trans woman owning the missing universe pageant. Don’t get me wrong, that it’s the lying that’s, that’s bizarre to me. Right? I’m okay if men get to enter it, but don’t lie to us and tell us you’re helping women. You’re not helping women. Just kick them to the fucking kisser.
Taylor Self (08:51):
It’s all to make one small subset of people feel better about themselves.
Sevan Matossian (08:57):
Yeah. Then say that super, then I’m cool with that. Yeah.
Taylor Self (08:59):
Yeah. But, but that’s, that’s
Sevan Matossian (09:01):
All. It’s, Hey, we’re letting dudes enter the women’s contest now because we feel bad for ’em. Good luck that I’m fine with that. But don’t fucking lie. You’re just confusing everyone. The, the smart people. You’re confusing the smart people. The dumb people are already confused. Don’t let them confuse you. Ironically, he said, men, we said we, we, he. Okay. Uh, hello and welcome. This is what we’ve all been waiting for. We’re here. We’re ready to watch Taylor. Wow. Wow. Taylor. I didn’t do that on purpose. Uh, we have the Heidi Krum cam. We are in Flagler here. We are about to see the climax, the culmination, the end of the greatest team competition in the history of our, uh, of our sport. Um, CrossFit, uh, the, this is, uh, Dylan, uh, uh, it’s Linsky, right? I always say it Wolinsky, but it’s Molinsky, right with Adam.
Taylor Self (10:05):
Sevan Matossian (10:05):
Molinsky Molinsky. Uh, I’ve known him for many, many years when he was one of the best commentators ever in this, uh, sport of CrossFit at regionals and whatnot. And now he’s the vice President of sport at Loudoun Live. He’s given the seven podcast, uh, access to, uh, hang out and bring you guys, uh, our our perspective and our addition to this, uh, wonderful event. I want to thank, uh, Sasha, uh, who’s the media director over there, and of course, uh, Guido Trinidad for his great programming. And, uh, all the athletes who let Suza stand so close to him, uh, but still 10 times further than, uh, Joe Biden stands from a six year old boy. So, uh, we are about to see this. Can we bring up the leaderboards? No. Fuck. Uh, that’s me. I’m talking to myself. Okay. Uh, we’re gonna bring up the leaderboards here. Caleb has gone to sleep. I think it’s probably two 30 where he’s at. Um, and, uh, Taylor, please, I need your help. I need your help. Please, please, please.
Taylor Self (11:04):
I need your, yep. I’m preparing a question for Dylan when he comes on later, where we
Sevan Matossian (11:07):
Go. Okay, good. Okay. So, uh, okay. He swallowed, uh, he swallowed no chewing. Yeah, I think he did just push that down without, uh, chewing It’s
Taylor Self (11:14):
Fucking mango. Dude, I did chew, chill out
Sevan Matossian (11:17):
<laugh>. It just went straight down the gult next to a pile of life force. Okay. Oh, uh, do we have a, uh, what, what do these numbers mean? What’s this ne what are these num what’s going on? Tell, read, tell me about numbers.
Taylor Self (11:30):
That’s how far back they are from first place, and I don’t think anybody’s catching the Canadians.
Sevan Matossian (11:37):
Okay. Uh, so first place is tied up for, uh, FK Kowski. Vener. Hey. So Vener can still say he won the, uh, four years in a row. He won four years in a row. He can. Okay. And, um, so that’s Fk Kowski Vener and, uh, um, Jeffrey, what’s his first name? Adler Adler. Jeffrey Adler. Okay. Now in, um, in, in between second and third place, it’s, uh, we don’t know how many points it is. We’re gonna have to do the math. What is that 29 points
John Young (12:09):
We talking about?
Sevan Matossian (12:10):
Uh, team goad versus the boys for second place? Yes.
John Young (12:13):
Sevan Matossian (12:15):
Uh, do, do we think that those are, uh, cemented? No.
John Young (12:19):
No. There’s 200 points. And the way the scoring is distributed in the last two events, at least we found this out, would be in individuals. There could be huge point swings. Because if somebody gets six place out of these 10, they’ll have 32 points. That’s a good point. That’s a 70 point gap in one event. And that can happen twice. Um,
Sevan Matossian (12:44):
So, okay, so what John is saying here, for people who didn’t follow like me, there’s 200 points available. It’s not just one event we’re gonna watch. It’s two go on Mr. Young.
John Young (12:53):
But, and the teams are better. So like, say Team Goad gets seventh in an event because good dudes, Zeus, p bk, Canadian, the boys, they all beat them, which they can in events and have, then it’s not cemented that they’re going to be second, I think second through seven, I would say. Yeah, really. Second through seventh can all buy for those spots. I think first is kind of, um, taken care of, but yeah, second through
Sevan Matossian (13:27):
Seventh when, oh, guys, when Brian Spins says here, um, it depends on the scoring table, and he’s trying to get the scoring table. Does that mean how the points are breaking down? Like first place gets a hundred second place gets 91. Like he’s trying to figure out what that is so we can start doing the math.
John Young (13:42):
So I assume we can do, I assume we can do the, uh, math just from the teams and second place got 93rd place got 80. Um, let me, but
Sevan Matossian (13:51):
It’s gonna be
John Young (13:52):
Different individual. I’m
Sevan Matossian (13:53):
Saying it’s gonna be different now because there’s been cuts, right?
John Young (13:56):
No, it cut, it, it cuts a, oh, it cuts a 20 for individual, not 10. Right?
Sevan Matossian (14:02):
John Young (14:03):
So I assume it’ll just be 10 points all the way down then.
Sevan Matossian (14:06):
Okay. All right. Oh, oh, here we go. He got, wow. This can’t be right. Wow. That’s, that can’t be right. That’s
John Young (14:12):
Insane. So if you get fourth place in two events and somebody like good dudes gets first place in two event in those two events, then like, good dudes can jump all the way to third or second. I’m saying that’s unreal. That’s, that’s crazy. That, that is the distribution and there’s a 16 point jump from first to second. This
Sevan Matossian (14:37):
Is the, Hey, listen to this. How they doing that? How about this? If Team Goad gets first in both events and Canadian pb and J gets third in both events, yes.
John Young (14:45):
They they could, they they could beat them. Yeah. What is,
Taylor Self (14:48):
What is the
John Young (14:51):
Absolutely. I mean, I
Sevan Matossian (14:54):
I like it. I like it. I like you’re
Taylor Self (14:56):
Waiting. The last two events is way more important than every other event of the weekend. That doesn’t mean Travis
John Young (14:59):
Offense. The last two events are way, way more important. So
Taylor Self (15:02):
You don’t punish Noah for missing an entire fucking lift.
Sevan Matossian (15:05):
Travis B says, dumb clock gutter. Fantastic. Renata, oh, Shea Dance Places matter. Uh, uh, gunner, uh, methamphetamine, ridiculous scoring table.
John Young (15:19):
Now I will say, um, Tyler’s doing the z
Sevan Matossian (15:22):
Scoring. Tag me in Jesus. Tag me in.
John Young (15:24):
Wait, speaking of Tyler. Yeah. Okay. He’s
Sevan Matossian (15:27):
Come on in. Tyler, you can join us for five minutes and talk to us about scoring. Come on in.
Taylor Self (15:31):
Should I send him a link?
Sevan Matossian (15:32):
He has a link. He has a link
Mattew Souza (15:38):
Sevan Matossian (15:39):
Let onto James. Hold on.
Mattew Souza (15:42):
You guys gotta throw this SPR on the, uh, big speed real quick. Just so you can check out his warmup outfit. Um, he’s got, uh, throw outfit on it. He’s got, and he’s got Romans, uh, playlist going on right now. And, uh, he’s ready. He’s charged up <laugh>
Sevan Matossian (16:00):
James, you guys made the cut. James, you the cut? I can’t believe they made the cut.
Mattew Souza (16:05):
Yeah, yeah, they did wearing, he’s got a signal on it. He calls it his warmup topic.
Taylor Self (16:11):
Was he, was he
Mattew Souza (16:12):
Taylor Self (16:13):
Goodness, I Meg the stallion?
Mattew Souza (16:15):
No, he was listening. He actually went over and was chatting with Roman for a minute and got his playlist that Roman uses to watch. They decided he was gonna use it’s Russian rap. That’s right.
Sevan Matossian (16:27):
Uh, thank you Mr. Suza. Listen, listen, Daniel, uh, what, what Taylor said is complete fucking nonsense. What are you talking about? You agree with them? Uh, he got punished. He got fucking, they got punished for it. He’s saying he missed a lift and they were punished severely. They,
Taylor Self (16:42):
They weren’t. They’re gonna get, they essentially, guys, here’s what we’re doing. Forget the past day of competition all this morning. None of it fucking
Sevan Matossian (16:50):
Matters. Fuck shit. Let’s
Taylor Self (16:51):
Just wipe it out at zero if this is what they’re gonna do.
Sevan Matossian (16:54):
Listen, retarded. Listen, the boys got 40 points, only 40 fucking points
Taylor Self (17:02):
They should have gotten far less. Yeah.
John Young (17:03):
And now fifth place gets 40 points. Fifth place in an event gets 40 points. And they got 40 points for being 40th.
Sevan Matossian (17:11):
Details, details, details, details.
John Young (17:13):
They’re 40th in the,
Sevan Matossian (17:15):
Uh, Daniel Wheeler says, build anticipation for the final. That’s for sure for the weekend. But I agree with Taylor. He’s a genius. I could’ve
Taylor Self (17:22):
Couldn’t, no fucking dude,
Sevan Matossian (17:24):
Noah couldn’t complete a lift, but they could catapult back up to the podium. Yeah, I like it.
Taylor Self (17:29):
I could have just sat on my couch and beat off all weekend and just showed up for this show. Cause nobody else mattered.
Sevan Matossian (17:35):
Edging all weekend and then this
Taylor Self (17:38):
Edging dude, stop saying, saying
Sevan Matossian (17:39):
That. And, and hey, what’s crazy is, is that there’s two events.
Taylor Self (17:44):
Sevan Matossian (17:44):
Hey, let me ask you this. Does it make it more interesting for us?
Taylor Self (17:47):
It makes it more interesting without a doubt, but not, but at, at the expense
John Young (17:51):
Of the, somebody could get gypped at the end of the competition. And that’s not cool
Taylor Self (17:55):
Gypped to say it lightly, but at the same time, it it, no, here’s the thing. Do any of the fans really know that this is what’s going on? Because if they don’t, then it’s fucking irrelevant. Unless the fans know this is the scoring system and these, these are the implications. Irrelevant. So everyone in the stands, they don’t know Fucking Jack.
Sevan Matossian (18:12):
Oh, hold on, hold on, hold on. Before you get all crazy. Let’s find out. Let’s, we we, we have our own test out there right now. Uh, hi Heidi crew. Mathematical genius, Heidi. Yeah. Are you familiar, uh, uh, with the scoring for this event and how it’s changed from other events?
Heidi Crume (18:33):
Uh, no, but I am now, since I’m listening to you guys talk about it, but I can guarantee 99% of the people in this crowd have no idea.
Taylor Self (18:43):
Let’s book and
Sevan Matossian (18:44):
Go. Thank you, Heidi. Okay. Okay. Thank you Heidi. Uh, remind me never to go back to Heidi to prove Taylor Wright ever again. Uh, lucky camera strap. 7 99 Australian. I don’t like it. He says if the Canadian boys get fourth in both and end up losing, it will be a bad result for the competition.
John Young (19:01):
Put Daniel Wheelers comment up. This is absolutely true. Put
Sevan Matossian (19:04):
Daniel Wheeler. That’s a good point. Uh, gimme one second. Uh, remind me one second. Uh, Tyler Watkins, say you get one more second. One less rep that’s worth 16 fucking points. I think he’s agitated. And, uh, Daniel Wheeler. Oh, hold on Daniel. Go ahead Mr. Taylor.
Taylor Self (19:20):
No, I was just gonna say this exactly. They’re punishing consistency, which they, they make the prior six scores irrelevant with this scoring table. They make the last six events almost meaningless. And what is the point of that? What’s the point of competing for an entire weekend if it’s gonna come down to an event where, I mean, I guess, okay, they get their foot in the door, now they’re in the top ten’s the final, so they have to pay to play. But still just, it, it, I don’t like it.
Sevan Matossian (19:44):
Here, let me ask you this before we get fucking carried away here. Uh, uh, uh, Mr. Spin, are you saying, do you know this for certain 100 for first place? 84 for second, 68 for third, 56 for fourth, 44th for fifth, 32nd for sixth, 24th for seventh, 16th for eighth, eighth points for ninth and fourth for last. Do, do you know that times two? Right? Because there’s two events. Uh, uh, Bob putting uh, some things into perspective, $30,000 riding on one double scored event. Ouch. Well,
John Young (20:20):
They did the same in individual. I mean, I think the right guy won, but it they did the same thing in individual,
Sevan Matossian (20:28):
Uh, Anthony tpa. How do we know Mr. Barbell? Bryan’s spin is right. He denies his first two born children. Well, there you go. Interesting, interesting data 0.0, what is the workout? Oh, Laura, I thought you’d never ask.
John Young (20:45):
Yeah, let’s go to the workout before they start the event.
Sevan Matossian (20:49):
Uh, how do I do that? Let me see what the fuck’s going.
John Young (20:51):
Sevan Matossian (20:52):
Okay. Okay. Okay. Now I’m not doing that shit again. Don’t you dare John Young <laugh>. You fucking dare make me look bad. Uh, look at the kitchen sink right here. I’m gonna go ahead and click this.
Taylor Self (21:02):
John, you take it. I’m writing like six or seven questions to ask Dylan if some of, um, that’s
Sevan Matossian (21:07):
Head. Okay, go ahead.
John Young (21:09):
So athlete, you can pick two athletes who do 60 synchro toasted bar, and then they do 50 total box jump overs. And then you have two. And then the next two athletes, athlete two stays on the floor. They do 60 meters of synchro, single arm dumbbell overhead, walking lunch, and then 50 dumbbell bench press. I believe it is 80 pounds for the men. And can you scroll down? Cause it says the weights, I apologize. Either 50 or 60 for the women. Keep going. Keep going. 50 pounds for the women. All right, go back up. All athletes one through three do 60 syncro heavy wall balls and then a 50 meter handstand walk total, I imagine they make ’em rotate. So 50 feet, 50 feet, and then the next person goes and then 25, 25, then the next person goes. Um, and then that is one event. And then after that you’ll rest till minute 16. And then the second event is a sprint. Essentially. Scroll down, step on,
You do 33 syncro, single arm dumbbell snatches, and I that is with all three people, I assume. And then you do 22 cow bike waterfalls, 15 for women. And what that means is you have one person do 22 cows, and then the next person does 22 cows. And then the next person does 22 cals. Once every athlete has completed 22 or 15 calories on the bike, then they’ll do 33 synchro lateral burpees over the dumbbell, and then that is the second event. So yeah, one sprint of it. And that’s a six minute time cap because there’s 22 minutes total and they start at minute 16. So it’s a six minute time cap. I imagine that means this one will be a 15 minute time cap. That way there’s a minute of transition. Um, and that is the two events.
Sevan Matossian (23:04):
Uh, that’s 38 minutes of, uh, of Showtime. Uh, it looks like the ladies are getting into the corral. Uh, Mr. Mooney says, I feel a Hiller video coming on. Uh, let me tell you this, uh, Hiller can feel my nuts. Let’s not forget. Dick butter says the smartest thing in the room. 17 and oh N F L teams can lose to eight, eight teams in the N F NFL playoffs. How about that Taylor? Mr. Mr. Brian, friend, how are you? You like the scoring here at the end? I like it. The boys and I are fighting.
John Young (23:36):
Do you know the scoring?
Taylor Self (23:37):
Can I make, can I respond to that NFL comparison
Sevan Matossian (23:40):
Because it’s Sure, sure. Hurry up. Cause we Brian for two minutes.
Taylor Self (23:44):
Okay, go Brian.
Sevan Matossian (23:45):
Go Mr. Friend.
John Young (23:45):
You know the scoring. Brian,
Mattew Souza (23:47):
You know it because I sent it to John.
Sevan Matossian (23:50):
Ah, yes. See, uh, Mr. Friend, what
Mattew Souza (23:53):
Do you think about? It’s gonna be dramatic. It’ll be exciting. It’s not orthodox, but there’s a lot to play for 75% of the competitions left. I don’t know the last time I have been to a competition where there’s more events remaining than heats.
Taylor Self (24:05):
Is there is, is there really that much excitement on the line when most of the fans that are watching in the stands don’t know the scoring situation or how it, how to even contextualize that for the event?
Mattew Souza (24:16):
I don’t wanna talk about opinions. What else do you wanna know? Savan
Sevan Matossian (24:19):
John Young (24:21):
That means he agrees. But you guys wanna be controversial.
Sevan Matossian (24:24):
Uh, how, what, what, do you have any update on, um, on uh, Samuel Kornya and the, uh, mayhem team?
Mattew Souza (24:31):
Sevan Matossian (24:32):
Uh, do you know if, uh, if it is, uh, all the other teams are healthy? Is Pat Zelner’s team healthy?
Mattew Souza (24:39):
Sevan Matossian (24:40):
Okay. Uh, you seem very stern. Where are you gonna go watch this event? At?
Mattew Souza (24:45):
From the floor.
Sevan Matossian (24:46):
Okay. Uh, and anything else? Uh, Mr. Uh, young? Oh, I did have one question for you about some scoring situation. Gimme one second here, buddy.
Taylor Self (24:57):
Uh, good dude. They had two minutes added to one of their workouts.
Sevan Matossian (25:00):
Thank you. Uh, do you know anything about that?
Mattew Souza (25:03):
It was a data and tri error. They crossed the line at 1358. The, uh, scorecard reflects that. Now it’s accurate.
Sevan Matossian (25:09):
Okay. Thank you so much, Brian. We’ll be sending you a link after the show if you have time. We’d love to have you back.
Mattew Souza (25:14):
Sevan Matossian (25:15):
Reflections with Brian. Friend. Thank you. The
Taylor Self (25:17):
Reason the N f L comparison is so ridiculous is this is one weekend. You can’t say, okay, um, we’re gonna compare a two day CrossFit event to a fucking 20 week N F L season.
John Young (25:29):
Well, you’d have to say the record so relevant. You’d have to say the last two games of the season counts as five games and then they don’t, then the person with the best record at the end of the season wins the whole
Sevan Matossian (25:40):
Thing. I don’t know. I think it makes it even, I think it even makes it, I think it makes it even more, uh, poignant.
John Young (25:47):
No, no, it’s, it has no, uh, comparison.
Sevan Matossian (25:53):
I think it makes it more poignant. Cause you put in your whole season. Yeah, but, and you can lose it all in a fucking minute, whereas in one game can’t What?
Taylor Self (26:02):
You can’t though. Here’s the big difference. What’s the base fucking salary for the shittiest player on an NFL team?
John Young (26:08):
Taylor Self (26:10):
<laugh>. They’re guaranteed that
Sevan Matossian (26:12):
They’re Oh, so you’re saying, you’re saying it’s bad not from a, a fan standpoint, not from a competition, ethical or moral standpoint. You’re saying from a money standpoint it’s tough on the athletes,
Taylor Self (26:21):
Everything. Yes. Particularly the money for sure. You expect, Hey, I go into this event, I win most of the workouts while I place top three or top five in most of the workouts. I have a sizable lead. I go into the final workouts and if I have two more top five finishes, now I lose. And I was up by 55 points and I lose all that money. Retarded,
Sevan Matossian (26:40):
Uh, barbell spin, uh, adding some context to it. I always like stuff like this touchdown should be worth double in the fourth quarter. He’s not saying that as fact. He’s just adding, uh, context to the, uh,
Taylor Self (26:50):
That’s a better comparison.
Sevan Matossian (26:51):
Uh, um, uh, Andy adds more context. Seems like UFC you have three fights to defend it, that some new guy can come in and take it.
John Young (26:58):
No, that’s, that doesn’t equate you at all.
Sevan Matossian (27:04):
<laugh> and dick butter. I couldn’t agree with you more. Yep. Suck it.
Taylor Self (27:08):
<laugh>. The UFC thing. Uh, here’s the deal though.
Sevan Matossian (27:10):
I don’t think the UFC thing works, but I appreciate it. It’s all, it’s all put in context. Go ahead. Go ahead Taylor. Sorry.
Taylor Self (27:17):
No, I was just gonna say, it comes down to the money. Even the ufc, you lose a fight, you’re guaranteed a per a certain percentage of the prize bot. And these guys aren’t guaranteed shit. And, and the, the other thing is they’re not gonna see this fucking money for another eight months anyways.
Sevan Matossian (27:31):
Uh, Audrey Fraser uncalled for how many times do you think? He said, only facts. Only facts only facts. If you can’t craft good questions, you won’t get good answers. I’m, I’m not sure what she’s referencing, but never let the person who’s answering the questions, uh, dictate the questions ever.
John Young (27:49):
Do you wanna make picks for this event?
Sevan Matossian (27:51):
Uh, say that again.
John Young (27:52):
Do you wanna make picks?
Sevan Matossian (27:53):
Uh, sure, let’s do it. Uh, you wanna see the, uh, list of, uh, teams?
John Young (27:59):
Let’s see the workout. We know the teams
Sevan Matossian (28:02):
Back to, uh, the, uh, workout. Caleb, I miss you, Caleb.
John Young (28:12):
So I don’t know if they’ll win, but I think the humble killers have a really good shot at being really good at this. At the first part, Alex Gza has a 2 58 pound bench press and she can also strict press 1 67. That is probably top in the field even with Carrie Pierce. Um, I think she’s probably the best bench presser, even with bigger women out there. 2 58 is pretty insane, um, for women. Scroll up a little bit. Sev we’ll talk about the first part. First.
Sevan Matossian (28:43):
Uh, Navy d wants to know, uh, uh, how, how is the scoring for the final, uh,
Taylor Self (28:51):
First place is a hundred points. Second place, 84 points and down by 14 points. Or is it 16 points all the way down to four and last just doesn’t make sense.
Sevan Matossian (29:03):
That’s what we’ve been talking about here for the last few minutes, buddy. You must have just logged in. Basically. Anyone can win. It’s up for grabs. Top five people, anyone can win. Okay. Uh, so who are your picks? Who’s your picks for this? Uh, in the women
Taylor Self (29:18):
<laugh>, that sucks. My picks for, for the women winning probably Laura’s. Mm. Man, I just, I I can’t not go Laura’s team, they’ve been, it’s
John Young (29:31):
Hard to go against Laura’s team, but I think the humble killers are a dark horse in this event. I mean, Laura’s team wins wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Taylor Self (29:39):
Yeah, I got Laura. It’s a lot heavy wall balls too.
Sevan Matossian (29:43):
Yeah, that’s what I say too,
John Young (29:44):
This event too. But I think the bench press will be easier for Laura’s team and humble killers.
Sevan Matossian (29:49):
Hey, hey. What do you think’s most exciting for the fans that this point scoring system or the, or or, or a different one?
Taylor Self (29:55):
If the fans know what the scoring system is and the implications behind it, then yes, the.
