#701 – Let’s Talk About Testosterone and Roids ft. Hunter McIntyre, Andrew Hiller, and Gary Robert

Sevan Matossian (00:02):

And bam, we’re live.

Jamie (00:03):

Sevan Matossian (00:05):

That easy, that quick. Thanks for doing this.

Jamie (00:07):

Yeah, thanks for having me.

Sevan Matossian (00:09):

I, uh, I watched the, uh, the video with the torque tank and the

Jamie (00:16):

Dumbo thrusters and Box step ups.

Sevan Matossian (00:18):

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Congratulations. How fun. I can’t believe how nice that event looks.

Jamie (00:25):

It was, it was a rough event.

Sevan Matossian (00:27):

<laugh>. Yeah.

Jamie (00:27):

Sevan Matossian (00:28):

Um, Jamie pronounce your last name for me.

Jamie (00:31):

Sevan Matossian (00:31):

LaMer. Okay. So I am saying it right. Okay. So you are actually in Cookeville now?

Jamie (00:37):

Sevan Matossian (00:38):

And, and what hotel is that?

Jamie (00:40):

I am at the country and in suites. That was actually a disaster I had, um, all

Sevan Matossian (00:47):

Those hotels are disasters. It sounds like you’re batting a thousand.

Jamie (00:50):

I was, I had a room at the Candlewood, like, um, one of the ones with a kitchenette and a fridge, everything, so we could cook and have our food here. And on Sunday, that got canceled on us. Um, so we got moved to this room that doesn’t even have carpet and it’s a tiny mini fridge, whatever. It’s whatever.

Sevan Matossian (01:10):

Constantly, constantly varied.

Jamie (01:11):

Sevan Matossian (01:12):

It’s the masters. What, what’s the name of the event? It’s, it’s the Legend

Jamie (01:16):

Event Legends Championship. CrossFit Championship.

Sevan Matossian (01:19):

And this is probably one of the bigger, if not the biggest, uh, master’s event.

Jamie (01:24):

Yeah. Um, last year it was 40 Perb age bracket. This year is 32. Because with it being at Mayhem, it sounds like they could only do on, like the main floor, they could only have eight lanes. So they’re doing four heats of eight. So 32 is the limit.

Sevan Matossian (01:40):

And you did day one yesterday? Yep. And how’d you do?

Jamie (01:44):

I got fourth on the endless ERGs, which was seven minutes of, um, row one minute rest, seven minute bike rg, one minute rest, seven minute skier.

Sevan Matossian (01:53):

Yeah. That’s good, right?

Jamie (01:54):

Yeah, I’m thrilled with that. Like, luckily it was 21 minutes of work. If it had been like 12 or under, I, I would not even have been able to maintain with the powerhouses. But, um, I like longer events, so I was able to like maintain over the course of that. Um, so I was like 7,100 meters. Um, and then, and then the, I got fourth again in the second event also. Good. Cuz I feel like the taller athletes were winning, obviously with the step ups makes it a little bit easier.

Sevan Matossian (02:24):

So, congratulations. And how many events are, how many events will you compete in this weekend?

Jamie (02:28):

Um, nine. The, uh, the event on Sunday is two parts. It’s like an event, a one minute rest reset, and another separate event. So nine events.

Sevan Matossian (02:38):

Hey, that’s awesome. Uh, two fourths is fantastic.

Jamie (02:42):

Sevan Matossian (02:43):

Yeah. You’re in it. Twin win. What, what age group?

Jamie (02:45):

35 to 39.

Sevan Matossian (02:48):

And are, are you actually 35 yet?

Jamie (02:51):

I’m 39.

Sevan Matossian (02:52):

You didn’t see it? Holy cow.

Jamie (02:54):

<laugh>, I’m, I know I’m old.

Sevan Matossian (02:57):

Hey, um, uh, what’s funny is when I had this idea to have someone on in the mornings before it was, I was gonna have Jason Grub on, and then somehow you slipped in. I don’t know. I I didn’t, I Ja, if you see Jason, tell him I said hi. I still wanna ha I still wanna, um, have him on. Okay. So today you’ll have two more events. Yep. And then, uh, today’s Friday, and then you’ll have two more on sat. Is it? It’s a four day event.

Jamie (03:18):

Three on Saturday. It’s a four day event. Three events on Saturday.

Sevan Matossian (03:21):

Wow. Okay. Well, I’d love to check in with you tomorrow. Tomorrow we’re doing a live calling show. And, uh, we’ll, we’ll check in with you tomorrow and see how things are going. Yeah,

Jamie (03:30):

I’m totally available. I’d love

Sevan Matossian (03:31):

To. Awesome. And say hi to Jason for and let him know I will update you.

Jamie (03:35):

Say hi to Hunter for me.

Sevan Matossian (03:36):

I will, I will, I will say hi to Hunter for you.

Jamie (03:39):

Sevan Matossian (03:40):

All right. Bye. Thanks for coming on. Bye. Yeah. See ya. Our very own, uh, Jamie, Jamie LaMer. Just like, I just like, I thought crazy. Right? That’s 39. That looks like 29 to me. My, my shit got all, you can’t figure out how old anyone is anymore. Yes. She’s not old. Sev is old. Yeah, she, uh, two fourths. Uh, did she say there were 32 people? Two fourths with 32 people. I mean, at that pace. She’s gonna win the thing. She’s gonna win it. Who’s supposed to win that? There’re out there at, uh, at Mayhem this morning is gonna be chaos. I was actually thinking about pouring myself two cups of coffee this morning. Um, I I almost even felt like I overslept yesterday. Usually I go to bed around 11 and get 11 at night and get up at 6:00 AM Yesterday I went to bed at eight 30. It was weird. I never do that. Eight 30, hun. Uh, no, you’re not Hunter, you’re Andrew Hiller. Oops. Wrong channel. No such joking. <laugh>.

Andrew Hiller (04:49):

Oops. You’re on the wrong channel, huh?

Sevan Matossian (04:52):

Uh, no, I’m uh, am I on the wrong channel? No. Five

Andrew Hiller (04:55):

Minutes. Said five minutes ago.

Sevan Matossian (04:56):

Well, the reason why is I wanted to have j i I wanted to have Jamie or Jason Grub on this morning just to say hi to, um, the legends athletes over there at Mayhem. So she came on for three minutes and 18 seconds. So she

Andrew Hiller (05:08):

Was here. Cool.

Sevan Matossian (05:09):

Yeah. Hey, 2, 2, 2 fourth place, uh, finishes in a event that has nine, uh, events. She’s kicking ass, right?

Andrew Hiller (05:19):

Oh yeah. Damn. Which, where was that at?

Sevan Matossian (05:23):

Uh, mayhem. Okay. It’s not all, it’s not always at Mayhem. I think this is the first year they’ve done it there. It’s, it’s where all the old people. I, I think she’s the youngest group of people there. She’s the 35 to 39. Although that Master’s event Night Masters 30. Yeah. That, uh, that place might actually have a 30 to 35. Someone will say Nice shirt, Hiller.

Andrew Hiller (05:43):

Oh yeah. He likes this shirt. I like this shirt. It’s cool. Like goes sideways and a cross.

Sevan Matossian (05:49):

Yeah. Is that new?

Andrew Hiller (05:50):

Yeah. Relatively new. Have you seen your Waip Polooza shirts?

Sevan Matossian (05:55):

I did. We’re not allowed to call them Waap polozzi shirts though. We have to call them Miami shirts.

Andrew Hiller (06:00):

No. Oh, I thought, oh, you’re right. Yeah. Yeah. The super cool Miami Vice shirts <laugh>. What’s everyone talking about here in relation to myself and Hunter? What have what have I missed?

Sevan Matossian (06:10):

Oh, I don’t know. I I actually haven’t been. Oh, they’re just hoping you were shirtless. That’s

Andrew Hiller (06:14):

All I, I have feeling Sheriff Hunter will have a differing opinion than Savanna Hiller. Uh, the Brian Johnson. Oh,

Sevan Matossian (06:23):

Gary Roberts. Holy shit. Hey, uh, Gary, do you know Andrew? Andrew Hillary, Gary Roberts?

Andrew Hiller (06:31):

I don’t think we officially met.

Gary Robert (06:33):

How are ya? Can I tell you something? Savanna?

Sevan Matossian (06:36):

Gary Robert (06:38):

Uh, I gotta say that I’m really embarrassed cuz the last couple times I’ve been on your show, I realized I was like, after the fact I got off and I was like, holy fuck. I don’t think I know anything about his co-host.

Sevan Matossian (06:54):

Like, oh, that he’s not my co-host. This is my co-host

Andrew Hiller (06:58):

Where, where he is.

Gary Robert (06:59):

No, but you’ve had a couple guys on these same faces and I don’t know anything about them and I haven’t asked and I’ve been embarrassed to say, say, and I keep forgetting.

Andrew Hiller (07:09):

What do you wanna ask? Don’t be embarrassed.

Gary Robert (07:11):

I keep forgetting

Sevan Matossian (07:12):

Book, man. <laugh>.

Gary Robert (07:14):

I keep forgetting to do my ring.

Andrew Hiller (07:15):

This eye doesn’t open all the way. I know. You were wondering what else you got <laugh>.

Gary Robert (07:20):

Is that true?

Andrew Hiller (07:22):

Uh, from what I’ve been told, yeah. Yeah.

Gary Robert (07:24):

Andrew Hiller (07:25):

I just, I think it’s genetic. My grandpa had something going on. So

Sevan Matossian (07:28):

<laugh> um, Caleb is actually the co-host. He’s deployed overseas somewhere. We can’t say where because we, he won’t tell us. And Andrew Hiller’s another YouTube star that I leveraged for to try to get more, uh, likes on my show. Any questions?

Gary Robert (07:41):

<laugh>? Well, I Hi guys. I was, I was really, I have this phobia of exposing that I do not watch your show as much as I should. And I didn’t want to expose a weakness that I’m behind on the times with what you’ve been doing. And, um, when I come on your show, I’ve been trying to prep like, okay, what is, what am I gonna say different this week that’s fresh from the last time. And anyways. Hey guys, I wanna know more about all of you.

Sevan Matossian (08:09):

<laugh>. Hey Gary. You know what’s funny is probably two or three of the people that I speak to most on the phone, they always call during the show, which is just so self-evident to me that they never watched the show. Right?

Andrew Hiller (08:22):

<laugh>, I did that

Sevan Matossian (08:23):

Once. So, so don’t ever feel that way. I don’t, uh, don’t ever feel that way. I just love having you on. Thank you. Uh, congratulations on your 6 32 mile. I am completely, completely. Oh, ca bye Caleb. I’ll see you later. I’m completely blown away that you ran a 6 32 mile.

Gary Robert (08:41):

Is that I I didn’t realize it. Fuck. That’s good to you. I was surprised. I was surprised that you were impressed. I thought you would be like, okay, well you were getting there, but we’re not there.

Sevan Matossian (08:54):

I saw your four times. You ran like a 10. Tell me, tell me about the first mile you ran. That was like 10 something. When was

Gary Robert (09:01):

That? Okay, so here’s the thing. I feel like at any given time when I’m not CrossFitting, that I, I have enough in my fat years in my, like I’ve gotten lazy. I feel like I, I always have enough in me to get out there and give a, a 10 to 11 minute mile, but like, really suffering and

Sevan Matossian (09:24):

Like a 240 pounds, a six foot 1, 240 pounds tear.

Andrew Hiller (09:28):

You walk during that period. 10, 10 to 11 minutes. Is there any walking?

Gary Robert (09:31):

No. No. It’s just like a, it’s just like a slow, a slow jog and No, just really no. Going out hard. Well, anyways, when I, when I started my CrossFit days, I, I don’t think when I started back this summer, I don’t think, uh, it was a murf It was a murf in my first week. And I it’s

Hunter McIntyre (09:53):

A terrible, that’s a terrible coach.

Gary Robert (09:56):

<laugh>. Well,

Sevan Matossian (09:58):

This is like fucking Boba. Who’s the fucking, uh, bounty hunter in Star Wars? Hunter Meat carry Robert. Scary meat Hunter. You look like fucking a low re boba fat or whatever. That guy.

Hunter McIntyre (10:08):

What are you talking about dude? You’re talking about dog, the booty hunter. This is the top bounty hunter in the business right here. This is the one you don’t know about. It’s the one you don’t wanna know about Hunter. He’s on your ass.

Sevan Matossian (10:18):

Try not to be, try not to be distracted by Hunter. Okay, go on. So, so you ran a Murf.

Gary Robert (10:23):

So it literally was like three days in Murf was programmed and you know, Murf, the holiday that we celebrate Murf, uh, is, is a big deal. So I’m like, I should skip, I’m clearly gonna scale and only do a half murf, but I really want to know what my, what my mile is. So I’m gonna do a, I’m gonna do a full mile on the front and the back

Hunter McIntyre (10:48):

Open up time style.

Gary Robert (10:50):

Yeah. So I just was curious and I, I gotta look. There’s a chance it was

Sevan Matossian (10:54):

A, the one you were, you juiced up when you ran that 10 something? Had you started your California hormones,

Gary Robert (10:59):

No Juice bitch

Sevan Matossian (11:00):

Clean. You ran a, you ran a, a 10. 10. You

Hunter McIntyre (11:02):

Were Jay free. Dude, you’re off

Sevan Matossian (11:03):

The juice. <laugh>,

Hunter McIntyre (11:06):

Uh, origin now, dude.

Sevan Matossian (11:08):

Originally. And then how long, and then how long were you on California Hormones before you ran that 6 32?

Gary Robert (11:13):

Uh, I think we’re going on four months now that I’ve been popping.

Hunter McIntyre (11:21):

Sevan Matossian (11:23):

Were you I was good. Were you sore after that? Running that 6 32?

Gary Robert (11:28):

I have, I have a slight admission.

Sevan Matossian (11:33):

Yeah, you cheated. It’s only, you only ran three laps.

Gary Robert (11:36):

No, you were on

Hunter McIntyre (11:37):

Test testosterone, but you are on E P O, you were on Chico

Sevan Matossian (11:41):

Hunter McIntyre (11:42):

<laugh>. That’s your admission

Gary Robert (11:44):

<laugh>. No, again, it was programmed there, there was, there was more workout. So there was a mile buy-in and then we had to do a 16 minute am wrap of front squats and box jump overs and like pull-ups and shit. And, uh, I normally wouldn’t go out as hard so I could continue the workout, but I told my coach, I really wanna know what my mile is, so I’m, I’m really not gonna focus on the wa I’m gonna give it my all. And when I came back, I really didn’t do much in the workout. I was like, I was fucked.

Sevan Matossian (12:23):

I was Oh, from the run, from pushing. That’s okay. Yeah.

Andrew Hiller (12:26):

What’s the issue? I don’t see an issue. You said there was something wrong with that.

Gary Robert (12:28):

Well, I, because I barely do some front squats at one 15, I was like so hammered. So I just,

Andrew Hiller (12:39):

You came in drunk too. <laugh>. You,

Gary Robert (12:43):

I just gave

Hunter McIntyre (12:43):

Me the star of the show. You gotta show pizzazz where you got it. So you, you sent it all where you could.

Gary Robert (12:48):

I’m just kind of,

Andrew Hiller (12:49):

I think I like that.

Gary Robert (12:50):

I’m just kind of embarrassed that I didn’t have enough in the tank to, uh, to do well in the, in the, in the

Sevan Matossian (13:00):

Hey, you, you normally don’t swear when you’re on this show and, um, and you normally don’t have a 6 32 mile. So you’ve been on California hormones for four months and I heard you say in shit already. Normally you’re pretty good about not swearing. You think that the hormones have not only, uh, helped your mile time get, um, better than Hunter McIntyre’s, uh, high Rocks champion or, and given you some potty mouth.

Gary Robert (13:24):

I I think I’m starting to become a fucking believer, bitch

Sevan Matossian (13:28):

<laugh>. Oh shit,

Hunter McIntyre (13:31):

My test is terrible and I cussed all day long. I think it’s a psychological issue for me. <laugh>. I don’t,

Andrew Hiller (13:40):

I do you know your levels hunter?

Hunter McIntyre (13:42):

Well, I did the same thing with your guys’ testing company and they’re like, they, they handed me a, like a shoebox full of needles and old syringes and uh, they’re like, hunter, this is the stuff. And I’m like, guys, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, but thank you. And then they gave me like, they gave me a, like a bro deal. They’re like, all right, fine bro, whatever. Just go to like a random supplement store and get yourself some boron, zinc, and magnesium. And I’ve been taking that and if I wasn’t wearing this jacket right now, you’d be able to see how buff my testicles are. I was actually gonna have a contest you on Groth hormone versus just me on boron, creatine. Like, I’m on, this is 15 grand.

Andrew Hiller (14:19):

This, what are we doing?

Hunter McIntyre (14:21):

Let’s just see who can put on more mask between now and February 1st and allow myself to get as big as possible. I’ll whoop the shit outta you.

Sevan Matossian (14:27):

Hey, you, you take, can he really do that? Hillary? Can he take 15 grams of creatine in one morning drink?

Hunter McIntyre (14:33):

Yeah, dude. Yes. Loading phase. You got, you gotta do, you

Andrew Hiller (14:35):

Gotta do like 20 in 2012, man,

Gary Robert (14:39):

Sevan Matossian (14:39):

Gary Robert (14:40):

Is the,

Andrew Hiller (14:40):

This, this picture’s not from two weeks ago. When did you pull this from?

Hunter McIntyre (14:44):

Oh no, no. That was me. That was me just saying that I was gonna get back to it. That’s, that’s only, that’s only, um, that’s July 10th

Andrew Hiller (14:51):

Of Gary.

Hunter McIntyre (14:52):

The, if you don’t know, before I got the High Rocks World Champion, by the way, many, many, many, many times before I got a parasite, everything. So when I went to California hormones and got tested, this was right after I had this parasite. My scores were just like tanked low. Dude, look at this thing. This is

Andrew Hiller (15:07):

Captain told me about the street meat, the street meet.

Hunter McIntyre (15:10):

Dude, look at this. Damn. Do you know how many people came after me? Yeah. Amazing. Amazing. Do you know how many people came after me because of this? They’re like, why don’t you try to be humble for once you piece his shit?

Andrew Hiller (15:19):

Gary Robert (15:20):

Hunter McIntyre (15:20):

That’s a key dude video. I know. I thought it was inspiring. I’m a trainer. I tell everybody, I’m like, listen dude, it’s a lifestyle. Go get your shit. Go get after it. I mean, just, you should like, I mean, just like you Gary, like if you’re feeling good, dude, you’ve flexed a couple times since you’ve been on the show. If you’re feeling good, dude, live it. Yeah. And there’s literally nothing going on in this world where you should not be able to stand up and feel proud of yourself if you’ve been working hard on yourself. Everybody’s surrounding in the audience. If they don’t want to clap when you’re up on stage looking like a fucking star, fuck them.

Gary Robert (15:53):

Hey. That’s how feel didn’t I didn’t realize I I know I do know this guy.

Hunter McIntyre (15:57):

Yeah. What’s up Grindr?

Gary Robert (15:59):

I uh,

Andrew Hiller (16:00):

I got the glasses. You just didn’t recognize him.

Gary Robert (16:02):

I didn’t recognize with the Bow fe Shield, but I I remember like your first, uh, CrossFit games

Hunter McIntyre (16:10):

One, one and done actually <laugh> one and done. Yes. Yes.

Andrew Hiller (16:13):

You should, you should have said your only CrossFit games.

Gary Robert (16:16):

I didn’t realize it was an only, but I remember the whole, whole one

Andrew Hiller (16:18):

More than Us.

Gary Robert (16:19):

I remember the whole talk was that he came in and he wasn’t technically officially a CrossFitter. He, he was cross br cross coming over and he did well in the open. And the whole story was how would he do in the games? I remember,

Hunter McIntyre (16:34):

Sorry, go ahead.

Gary Robert (16:35):

I remember you had, you definitely had some, some strengths, but I remember, uh, the like maybe early events, some running, but the, the games did expose you. I remember that.

Hunter McIntyre (16:46):

Is that true? Yeah. I mean like, if I had spent more time walking on my hands, like children do in gymnastic classes, I would’ve fucking killed the whole world. But I’m a real athlete and I compete in contest where we, uh, we move on our feet.

Gary Robert (16:57):

I’m, I I’m glad I actually know somebody on the show. Nice. All

Hunter McIntyre (17:01):

There you go. My whole experience was more like dancing with the Stars. I kind of just showed up. Like I have a career elsewhere guys. I have real things going on. I’m not a dancer, but I will show up and show you that I can dance and then I’ll go back to my real life, which

Gary Robert (17:14):

I’ve done. And all you guys are influencers. Y’all have your own podcasts and

Andrew Hiller (17:19):

They’ve never called me that again, Gary. And we’ll be just fine <laugh> you.

Hunter McIntyre (17:23):

Exactly. Exactly. Youre an influencer Now. Hunter is an influencer though. Three, the other three of us, we’re just regular guys.

Gary Robert (17:29):

You don’t call yourself an influencer.

Andrew Hiller (17:33):

That’s a, the word that

Hunter McIntyre (17:34):

Make like say Saban falls into the lane of traditional media. Yeah, I would say, I’m not gonna lie, Hillary, like you have definitely fallen into the influencer category and I have to, I have to sell my soul to the devil because my sport’s so cheap that I can’t afford to pay for my food and I have to post a lot of pictures of myself with my shirt

Sevan Matossian (17:53):

Off. I think if Hillary is op-ed, he’s editorial.

Hunter McIntyre (17:56):

It is oped. I mean it is, but you, I mean listen, it is journalism pieces because you do go out and you do source good information and then you do create a storyline, which influencers technically don’t do. But I think in the modern vein of what, um, media is, he’s

Sevan Matossian (18:11):

The anti influencer. He bashes the products. <laugh>

Hunter McIntyre (18:16):

He does, but that, I mean, I guess it’s pretty good. I guess it’s pretty good. I mean, listen, I’m not saying what you’re doing is wrong. I actually tune into your stuff often. Um, I kind of was heartbroken by what you did to, uh, hip and steel. Like I didn’t watch enough to

Andrew Hiller (18:29):

Really? Oh God. God. Me

Sevan Matossian (18:30):

Too hot heartbroken by it too. That

Hunter McIntyre (18:32):

Broke my heart. Listen, here, here, here’s the thing, man. When you’re at that certain age bracket, is that your, I mean, you look good in the picture.

Sevan Matossian (18:40):

Oh wow. Yeah, you look great there, Gary. That but hold on. I wanna, I wanna watch Hunter beat up on Hillary a little bit. Save that handsome photo of you and your beautiful wife for a second.

Gary Robert (18:49):

Somebody in the chat was asking for my wife. That’s why. Oh, okay. It was for chat people.

Andrew Hiller (18:53):

<laugh>, here’s a picture of my wife.

Sevan Matossian (18:55):

Okay, go. Go ahead. I like this Hunter. Go beat up on him. For what? How, how the mistreat an old man. How did he mistreat an old

Hunter McIntyre (19:01):

Man? I’m just not saying like, listen dude, that guy has literally been a flag bearer for this community, especially for this age group for the better part of a decade. And listen, I I don’t like, you know, he and I don’t have some handshake deal behind the scenes here. I think he’s a superstar and I think at that level, like when everybody’s just like, instead of like corners, they’re kind of cutting off a little bit around edges on everything just to make the moves, especially in that category, he cutting

Sevan Matossian (19:26):

Off off more than a fucking round edge.

Hunter McIntyre (19:29):

But did, I mean, you and I, what I’m trying to say, I didn’t do deep, I didn’t do super deep research on this piece, but I’m just saying I vote for hip and steel. I’m just saying the guy’s a good dude.

Gary Robert (19:40):

Why were you beating up on hip and steel? I actually know another name. Yes.

Hunter McIntyre (19:45):

Sevan Matossian (19:45):

Yeah, because Gary, Gary, you probably, Gary’s done some videos on hip and steel back in the day. Oh my God,

Hunter McIntyre (19:49):

Dude. Yeah.

Gary Robert (19:50):

Legend bro. Why

Andrew Hiller (19:51):

Are you hunter? The the best thing that I can tell is how old are you? 32, 33

Hunter McIntyre (19:57):

Andrew Hiller (19:58):

At a point in time. You’re

Gary Robert (19:59):

Can’t tell by the mustache

Andrew Hiller (20:01):

That’s the dead giveaway. At a certain point in time you’re gonna be 37 and you’ll no longer have the mile times that you’ve got to be able to run the races that you wanna race. Are you gonna just try to say, well, I’m going to not do 5% of the race to keep up with everyone else who’s doing a hundred percent of the race or are you gonna come after him? He,

Hunter McIntyre (20:19):

Did he skip reps or did he just kind of just like get a little range of motion?

Andrew Hiller (20:24):

Range of motion Bad but it’s,

Sevan Matossian (20:27):

But it’s really bad. Hunter’s really

Andrew Hiller (20:29):

Bad. The point to the point where they shouldn’t have even been done in the first place and then he just says, I old, you don’t know what it’s like my shoulders have beat up, but I’m the beacon of health in CrossFit. It’s like, maybe you were,

Hunter McIntyre (20:37):

But that’s my point chance for you. Uh, that’s my point. I mean, listen, listen, what’s your point? I’m not saying that this dude, like when you were like at the, like when you are going for the Olympics and you’re going for the gold medal in the, you know, the typical Olympic category and then you’re talking about masters and Senior Olympics, we’re talking about the Senior Olympics guys and maybe their tow just went over the line where they’re throwing the shot, put a little bit. These guys are so gosh darn old and they’re still out there getting it affect what they’re doing is my point.

Sevan Matossian (21:05):

What what, hun let me translate for you. Hunter’s saying they’re not real athletes, they don’t deserve your

Hunter McIntyre (21:09):

Time. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Sevan Matossian (21:11):

Hunter McIntyre (21:12):

No, no, no, no, no. Listen, you can put certain

Andrew Hiller (21:13):

Here. Are you familiar with the situation?

Hunter McIntyre (21:15):

You can put certain people on

Gary Robert (21:17):

The microscope. I just saw in the chat did, uh, it’s David, right? David Hiin

Andrew Hiller (21:21):

Steel. Dave Hiin Steel. Right? Did

Gary Robert (21:23):

He enter a non CrossFit event and just get

Andrew Hiller (21:26):

Waxed? I think seven’s really good at like summarizing this in about 30 seconds. We should let him, if you wanna take a stab

Sevan Matossian (21:30):

At it. This, this guy basically entered a competition and he didn’t do full range of motion on basically let’s just say any of the reps. It was, it was, it was very poor. But then he later on came out and said, Hey, the reason why I did that is because I just was gonna take the time penalty and I didn’t really care. But, but Hillary kept pointing it out to him and instead of the guy just admitting, yeah, I fucked up, he tried to defend himself and then it just got worse and worse. Cuz every time he tried to defend himself, Hillary made another video. And so it was like watching it, it it, it didn’t go good. It he hill hip still should have just leaned into it and made fun of himself. Instead he took himself too seriously. Yeah,

Gary Robert (22:06):

That, that does surprise me because he, he, I mean he was the pinnacle, like as his age category. I mean, he was walking legend,

Sevan Matossian (22:14):

Hey dude, his, his ring muscle were locked out, his ring muscle ups were locked out like this. His overhead squat was locked out like this. It, it wasn’t like closer anything.

Andrew Hiller (22:23):

Oh. And then, and then most recently in that thing with the morning chalk up, he goes on to say that he has been avoiding surgery. He has been doing stuff such as lodging things within his belt to keep his back from blowing up mid workout. And he is just falling apart.

Sevan Matossian (22:36):

It went from hill

Andrew Hiller (22:37):

Using his falling apart along with him trying to say as if he’s promoting the message of health and wellness for people of his age and the world. And he’s also trying to like parallel those two things into saying, this is why I skipped all those reps. You should be okay with it because of these things that I’m also standing up for. And it’s like you’re, do you not realize what you’re saying <laugh>? Oh, in the 20 minute time span. But,

Sevan Matossian (22:58):

But, but I, but, but he is, he he, maybe we should have, maybe you should have just left him alone too. Cause

Hunter McIntyre (23:02):

I do. That’s what I was saying. So guys, Iris used to be a big fan of Sean Ramirez, was Sean Ramirez, the guy who got popped with all the pads. He was like the,

Sevan Matossian (23:09):

Uh, master, innocent, innocent, innocent.

Hunter McIntyre (23:12):

I don’t know man. I used to see him at a lot of events. I remember one time he gave me grips of the contest where I didn’t have grips. He’s like, dude, just take ’em and you go, he is like, you’re gonna use ’em better. I was like, what a respectable guy. Just like, he was always such like a, he was a good ass dude. And then it all came out that he was all juice to the gills. And that crushed my heart. Like I was a humongous fan of him. And that’s a piece that you go after and you kind of put the guy on the pan and sizzle him up. Put the hip and steel thing with

Sevan Matossian (23:37):

My point <laugh>. Hey, by the way, you know, he sued the supplement company with detained supplements in won

Hunter McIntyre (23:42):

Hunter Ramirez. Did.

Sevan Matossian (23:44):

Yeah. Yeah.

Hunter McIntyre (23:45):

Well MVP did. I think you’re still like, I’m still a fan. But it broke my heart. I didn’t do enough research to continue. But he was always great to me and I always thought he was a great athlete. Um, but that sucked, man. That broke my heart when you saw that. Dude, if

Sevan Matossian (23:58):

You sign up for California, if you sign up for California hormones between now and December 24th, we will do a free drawing to give away a level one CrossFit level one meaning, oh, if you basically go to the website, ca hormones.com, sign up, submit your blood work, get the free doctor’s consultation, you’ll be, uh, you have a good chance of getting the, uh,

Gary Robert (24:20):

The cross level one. Hey, I’m, I’m now catching on what happened here. And I would just like to say, because I have been using California hormone that they do not send you product in a dirty shoebox. Hunter is lying.

Sevan Matossian (24:32):

<laugh>, thank you. Thank you Gary. Gary, that is why you’re

Andrew Hiller (24:35):

Here talking to Hunter. That

Hunter McIntyre (24:36):

Is, they met me, let me, they met me in a parking lot. They met me in a parking lot behind a dumpster <laugh>. And they took it out of a, they took it out of a trash bag that clearly had already been used before and then gave me like a Puma shoe box full of all the stuff.

Sevan Matossian (24:50):

And they took a semen sample from Hunter. They took blood from you, Gary.

Hunter McIntyre (24:54):

I don’t give away semen. Yeah. Cause then they’re gonna sell it to the Russians. They need this juice. The Russians are gonna try to use it against us eventually. It’s

Gary Robert (25:01):

Been very professional. Although I gotta say just last night, uh, California homeowner, I am on my last dose. I just actually used it last night. And please ship me my new package. Hey,

Sevan Matossian (25:13):

Have you been doubling down? Gary, are you running out quickly because you’re giving yourself too many injections? Be honest,

Gary Robert (25:19):

Be honest. No, no, no, no. What my last doctor’s visit, uh, he very emphasized that. So I’m supposed to take 0.5 milliliter of the little syringe and he emphasizes that I do. No, a couple times. I snuck a 0.6, but he’s like, it doesn’t do you any good. Don’t even, don’t do that. Just

Andrew Hiller (25:41):

Well on the line. He might do you some good.

Sevan Matossian (25:43):

Hey, I wanna see Gary go to somewhere else. I wanna see Gary go to Hunter’s High Rocks camp. Can we I would

Hunter McIntyre (25:50):

Dude. Yeah. Come out here. I’ll sponsor the whole thing. Can I ask you a quick question? Um,

Gary Robert (25:54):

Oh, come out there and whoop some bitches.

Hunter McIntyre (25:56):

Dude, come out here. Dude, this is man camp. I got literally like 20 pounds of of wood right here that we got a chop. That’s that’s Can I

Andrew Hiller (26:02):

A green screen behind you, hunter? It doesn’t look real like, it looks like a fake background. Yeah. It doesn’t look

Hunter McIntyre (26:07):

Very. Oh, the cabins, the cabin is real.

Andrew Hiller (26:09):

You’re just a level in front of it and it doesn’t look anywhere.

Gary Robert (26:12):

Feel that way. Where does Hunter, where does Hunter call home? I’m, I’m, I don’t know this,

Hunter McIntyre (26:17):

Uh, I’m, I’m kind of like, uh, one of those kind of animals that, uh, traverses across mountain ranges. And like I summer in Malibu and I winter in the mountains of Lake Arrowhead. Uh, I, I live in southern California between those two places,

Gary Robert (26:30):

<laugh> And what’s your camp? When is this? Is

Sevan Matossian (26:33):

This Gary? Hold on, let me just say something really quick about Hunter. Uh, it all, all kidding aside, he is arguably one of the fittest people who’s ever fucking walked the planet. It’s arguably that maybe he was the fittest man and that just because of the definition of what we have in CrossFit, he didn’t get it. I mean, the fucking guy’s fit. He won this high. Do you know about High Rocks? This fucking event, nutball event?

Gary Robert (26:52):

I don’t know details. I’ve heard that

Sevan Matossian (26:54):

Rant. The, the average professional time is an hour and 29 minutes, and this guy has done it in 55 minutes. It’s some fucking hellacious run, CrossFit hybrid thing. And so he has this cabin where, uh, crazy people will go and train with him for eight weeks at a time. And he runs this camp up there. And, uh, recently he’s, he’s claiming he retired. And so now he’s saying he is gonna give away all his secrets. I don’t think he’s really retiring, but we shall see. So in a nutshell, that’s who he is. But he is, he’s

Hunter McIntyre (27:23):

Trying to make it past the Olympics. Gary,

Sevan Matossian (27:25):

He Oh yeah. In a boat. Yeah. Sorry. Tell Gary about that. He’s trying some obscure sport in the Olympics. That’s, he says he doesn’t handstand walk. This sport is as ridiculous as handstand walking <laugh>.

Hunter McIntyre (27:35):

This is so much, this is so much harder than handstand walking. So right now my wetsuit is in the dryer spinning because I have to paddle on lakes that it’s only 35 degrees here. I paddled yesterday in 28 degrees and I still suck so bad that I fall in often. And trust me, it’s a, it’s an eye-opener when you get in there. Um, basically I decided, I was like, I’ve competed in so many of these things and I’ve, I’ve, uh, competed in a very high level for now 10 years. But the one thing that I don’t have going on for myself is I haven’t earned, I haven’t made it to the Olympics. Like if you, I don’t know if we all sat down, we were sitting at a table and everyone’s like, oh, where’d you go to college? And someone’s like, Northwestern. And another person’s like, I went to uh, uh, you know, ucla and then someone’s like, I went to Harvard. The whole room will stop and look at the person and went to Harvard. As far as athletics, if you’re all sitting down with a bunch of athletes and one person mentions that they were an Olympian, that’s the pinnacle.

Sevan Matossian (28:27):

Yeah. Until they, that’s see that you’re in that boat until they see that’s your sport.

Hunter McIntyre (28:32):

Wait until you, when you see the guys that are really good at this, you’d be very impressed by what they’re doing. I mean, they’re full blown. Like, have you ever been on a skier and like basically ripping into the ground, like that’s the range of motion, but you’re on this tiny ass boat that’s more narrow than your keyboard and Yes. Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (28:49):

Even though he dresses like Bob bfe, the guy is serious as a heart attack. That is, yeah. <laugh>.

Gary Robert (28:53):

Right. And are, are you close to the Olympian, uh, reg qualifying? I mean, is is a dream

Hunter McIntyre (29:00):

Or is this I’m as far as I could possibly be, but at the same time it’s, this isn’t a hobby. Like if I didn’t think it was possible, I wouldn’t be doing it because you know what, like I’m already the top of the sport in another world and I could fly around the world and get my flights paid for and get paid checks for competing, but at the same time it doesn’t fill up my cup anymore. Um, just been doing it for too long. So honestly, I’m just like, I’m in my last two, three years of competing and, uh, I’m gonna swing for the fences on this one. Try go for the Olympics. I’m getting good, but I’m not great.

Sevan Matossian (29:31):

Hey, you didn’t, you didn’t fall in in that video. That’s pretty impressive. I know, just even balancing in that thing is, uh, a feat of a lot of hours of practice.

Hunter McIntyre (29:39):

Yeah, it’s, it’s ridiculous. And my back is so fucked up already from it. Um, you really have to be careful with the thing. Careful hip and steel. Yeah. Hey, I got a, I got a a question cuz I was watching one of your videos just recently. Do you really think that, did they pay you to do that with those no bull shoes or did you just decide that you had a free day to just, I had a.
