JR Howell (00:00):
Uh, and everyone’s gonna say that the tests were all heavy for the most part, but yet you’ve got Amanda finishing like that. It doesn’t make sense. There
Taylor Self (00:09):
They weren’t and they weren’t all heavy. That’s just
Sevan Matossian (00:12):
Welcome to the final show of the 2022 shoulder test games. These games will test your shoulders for five days, put in your shoulders through the ultimate workouts. Any truth to that was this shoulder heavy?
Taylor Self (00:31):
No.
Sevan Matossian (00:31):
Oh, never mind scratch that CrossFit games. We’re going back to the old name. Holy cow. That stadium field fills fast. At the beginning. It was empty. It was, it was like a Bo it was like a boxing match. No one wanted to show up for the, for the ass heats. And then man, that sucker filled up and became deafening. Congratulations, CrossFit. You guys pulled it off. Well done. Highlight of the, uh, final event when hap a lapping dropped the weight on him and he had to, did you see, like he went one way to roll it off himself and then had to switch back the other way? Anyone?
JR Howell (01:07):
Yeah. On the, on the clean.
Sevan Matossian (01:09):
Yeah.
JR Howell (01:10):
That’s all.
Sevan Matossian (01:11):
Wow. Uh, Justin Madis, the winner tee you to me. The winner. Did we get the right winners?
JR Howell (01:21):
I think so.
Taylor Self (01:22):
Yep.
Sevan Matossian (01:24):
Did you drink your coffee before you came on this show? Do you drink coffee Jr?
JR Howell (01:28):
I do.
Sevan Matossian (01:29):
Oh, double, double your dose. I’m no doctor, but double your dose.
JR Howell (01:33):
Maybe I should half my dose of children. Yes, sir. <laugh>
Sevan Matossian (01:37):
That’s funny. Uh, wait, did your kids make you that hopper shirt? That thing is ghetto.
JR Howell (01:44):
Yeah. This was a shirt from last year that was just plain white with like black riding to make it like a Sharpie. Cuz that’s what they did at the Mac. And then my little girl said that we needed a tie dye because white is boring.
Sevan Matossian (01:55):
Well shit. The tie dye is the best part.
Taylor Self (01:59):
Hmm.
Sevan Matossian (01:59):
Well, is this the shirt you wanted Taylor right here?
Taylor Self (02:03):
Yeah, dude, that shirt is sick.
Sevan Matossian (02:05):
Yeah. It’s pretty crazy. Right? The band
Taylor Self (02:07):
Or is that, is that ABL? Is that one in black?
Sevan Matossian (02:09):
Yeah, this is black. It’s black and it looks like a bird’s shit on me, but I don’t know what this is. It won’t come off. It’s some sort of, I think that this was like the first one he made like the test run and at vindicate.
Taylor Self (02:20):
Yeah. The other ones that they’re releasing are like a, a Navy blue.
Sevan Matossian (02:24):
How been? Oh, that’s cool too. Right? Or
Taylor Self (02:26):
Is that
Sevan Matossian (02:26):
Charcoal? Yeah. How do you have any Seon podcast gear?
Mike Halpin (02:30):
I do not. I need so like
Sevan Matossian (02:31):
Us. Huh? No one likes you. Yeah. Will you text me your address and shit? Yeah. Have you ever received anything Jr.
JR Howell (02:37):
Hey Mike, you’re gonna do that three times and you’re still not gonna get any gear, just cause still in
Sevan Matossian (02:45):
The mail. Any gear yet? Well,
Mike Halpin (02:47):
Be in the mail.
JR Howell (02:49):
I keep sending me, I keep sending him my address and he’s probably like, there’s no way. This is real. Robuck cannot be the name of a, of a place someone lives
Sevan Matossian (02:56):
Robuck I cannot believe you don’t have a shirt yet. That sucks. You need 10 shirts. Uh, it looks like the teams are gonna go now. Um, we’ll keep you posted on that as that unfolds. I have it here. Am. Am I stuttering at all? Like can you not see me at all? No, it’s all good. You’re good. Um, why do we have Matt Suza on the big black screen? Do you see that beaver? Can we put um, oh there,
Caleb Beaver (03:20):
I’m sorry. I was looking for something. I don’t have two screens here.
Sevan Matossian (03:23):
Oh, it’s a little better. Um, it looks like SU’s at the, where the athletes leave. You might be there a while buddy. Cuz they’re probably watching the team event, but maybe not, maybe some of ’em are gonna get, grab their shit and split. Uh Kosky should we start with the men? The men’s final, my final two events and then, and then we’ll work our way over to the women and by then the teams will be done and we can talk some smack about that too. And congratulations to Justin man. His parents were pumped. How pumped were his parents? Pretty excited. David borders of the, uh, an air to the borders. Uh, bookstore. Um, you guys are absolute legends. Thank you. Oh, he’s an English guy, right? Is he English guy? If he talks like that absolute legends. That’s how they talk big money coming out for,
JR Howell (04:12):
For Sunday, huh?
Sevan Matossian (04:13):
Yeah. It’s nice. I’m gonna put, I’m gonna put, uh, 10% of that. I’m gonna send to my church, the church of Seon. Uh, can I see the, the, the boys Caleb?
Sevan Matossian (04:33):
Oh, why? Why? It says we don’t use legends here. That’s a Richie thing. Okay, bye. Maybe it was in Reagan. Uh, in first place. We have Justin Maderas in second from the United States and second place. We have Roman Coff from Antarctica and third place. We have, uh, Ricky Gerard from Australia. Uh, Sam quant pulls it off. What a stud right? Uh, Jeffrey Adler, uh, in fifth and Patrick ner in sixth. Jason Hopper in seventh. And uh, I guess we could start down there. Hopper must be stoked, right? It’s a good, it’s a good jump. Right? Top 10.
JR Howell (05:05):
Yeah. I mean up from 19 last year in his first year, I think a lot of people were, um, enjoying themselves, you know, kind of, um, making a lot of humor at his expense last year after being propped up at such on such a pedestal to go to the games and podium in his first year, which was a little bit unreason unreasonable expectation. And for him to train as hard as he’s trained for me and Taylor to kind of see it week in and week out was, was really cool. I mean his goal was top 10 and, and he did a great job because he had some, he had a lot of up and downs this week for sure.
Sevan Matossian (05:42):
Uh, yeah. Yeah. You mean like the name? They, they, he was starting to pick up the name. Jason flopper, I think, I think, I think he can ditch that now. Right with the seventh place.
JR Howell (05:52):
Yeah. I mean, he’s, he’s for real top ten second year and I think he’s only gonna continue to get better.
Sevan Matossian (05:59):
Tho those is, is he, he’s the only new guy in the mix, right? Uh, I guess you could say LAER is a bit new, but look at these names he’s around. He’s got Borman, Carl Goodmanson then LAER GI then Jason Hopper, Patrick Vener, uh, Jeffrey Adler. Yeah, he he’s he’s in a good mix. And what, and what can we say about Sam? Uh, uh, Samwell, Samuel quant? Uh,
Mike Halpin (06:21):
The good, it’s a good showing because I mean, everybody sort of thought it was a fluke that he got into the 2020 games and then did so well. Or at least people were talking that way, but I mean, he proved it here that he can still hang.
Sevan Matossian (06:35):
Yeah.
JR Howell (06:36):
You know, a lot of people think about the sport he’s he’s not quite entering his prime yet. I mean, Sam’s, Sam looks like he’s back a hundred percent and now him and Harry are kind of a part of H WPO. So I, I think he only gets better from here on being surrounded by such smart people.
Sevan Matossian (06:53):
And do I dare say now that he knows what Adrian wants now that all of them know what Adrian wants? Um, I think they can all improve significantly. Do, do you think that’s unfair to say that what Adrian wants Taylor?
Taylor Self (07:08):
I think they can all improve significantly based on the workouts that came out this year. But I think it’s a stretch to say they know what Adrian wants. And I think that the athletes that expect that or think that they do are gonna be shocked and humbled to a greater degree next year,
Sevan Matossian (07:23):
Even more so, uh, I think what if, I think if Adrian didn’t introduce anything new last year, we’d be good. Just let them J just let everyone improve on what was introduced this year. What do you think about that?
Taylor Self (07:39):
Can you elaborate? You, you
Sevan Matossian (07:40):
Mean the, the, like the, the, the, the legless, uh, footless footless legless, uh, pegboard, the crossover jump roping the, um, the, the, uh, parallel tuck position to the handstand. Like, those are enough for everyone to work on all next year. And then next year we don’t need to see the triple under or the, or the, uh, you know, push up to prone position to handstand.
Taylor Self (08:08):
Well, there, there will
Sevan Matossian (08:09):
Always, or the iron cross.
Taylor Self (08:11):
Right? I mean, I don’t see that coming, but I think there are always going to be new elements of the CrossFit games. There’s never gonna not be a new element tested. I don’t think there ever has been.
JR Howell (08:21):
I think these series of tests absolutely though. Lay the groundwork for some, uh, for some, for some retesting, um, maybe not next year, but in the next three years to see if people have done their homework and much like the peg board to see if people kinda learned their lesson and, and cleaned up a skill that they didn’t have before,
Sevan Matossian (08:39):
Uh, you were all badies fair. Uh, Jan Clark, uh, he says that cuz he’s sitting on a boat and he knows we can’t get him out in the water. Um, sir, Geno, uh, what a cabbage Sean is. I have no idea what the fuck that I don’t know what cabbage is like what get his Bucci on a stick. This is, this is just too much day drinking. Right? I dunno what that means. Anyone Sean Hood.
Taylor Self (09:07):
I think he was talking, I think he’s talking about the, some of the announcing, like the, the mullet reference he made at the end and
Sevan Matossian (09:14):
Yeah,
Taylor Self (09:15):
That, well, I mean, he was pretty cringe on the live stream. I was just, it
Mike Halpin (09:18):
Seemed like he was trying to time his announce, like his last little words there to tease, they were scripted. He was just taking her time and it was just like, okay. Yep. You’re trying to say your moment here.
Sevan Matossian (09:28):
Yeah. Yeah. He had a I’d give him a 10 outta 10 and then he, and then he fumbled at the, as he went into the end zone, he fumbled maybe
Mike Halpin (09:35):
Also, like he said, that was Tia’s final year. Not to go on about Tia already, but she didn’t say that like she had the moment to say like, yep, that was it. Yeah. And she said, we’ll see, although that was Matt. That was Matt. Same thing. We’ll see, I guess. So
Sevan Matossian (09:52):
In his defense, I think she, uh, she probably told him that,
Taylor Self (09:56):
Yeah, that was scripted as well.
Sevan Matossian (09:58):
Yeah. If, if Roman went 3.5 times three, sorry. If Roman went 3.5 seconds faster on both shuttle run a and hat trick. He would’ve tied Justin on points. And when based on first place events, that’s
Taylor Self (10:14):
How it shakes out. I think that’s encouraging, looking forward, how close it was this year. And it being Roman’s first year at the CrossFit games.
Sevan Matossian (10:24):
I’m gonna ask for you to double your dose of coffee too
Taylor Self (10:26):
Today. So soak that in <laugh>
Sevan Matossian (10:28):
First year,
Mike Halpin (10:29):
The
Taylor Self (10:29):
CrossFit games.
Mike Halpin (10:31):
Yeah.
Sevan Matossian (10:33):
Uh, if quant Gwent to hard work pays off going forward since he’s with Harry.
JR Howell (10:42):
Yeah. I mean, I, I don’t see any reason why the H WPO crew wouldn’t adopt him as the third H WPO O athlete. If Harry is now with H w P O and Sam is all, but exclusively been coached by Harry, it would make sense to me. He just finished fourth.
Taylor Self (11:00):
If you’re Jason, are you okay with that? Sam going on? H WBO O
JR Howell (11:05):
Uh, I don’t think he has, uh,
Mike Halpin (11:08):
I don’t think he has
JR Howell (11:09):
Grounds for opinion,
Mike Halpin (11:10):
The
Sevan Matossian (11:11):
Shit.
Taylor Self (11:12):
You don’t think he has grounds for an opinion. I don’t
JR Howell (11:14):
Think he has grounds to get upset. I don’t think, I think it’s, it’s not up to him. I think he’s he’s he
Sevan Matossian (11:21):
Knows he’s a, oh, CEO shirt, CEO shirt.
JR Howell (11:23):
He knows he’s a part of that family. And, and I don’t think that, um, having another male athlete training under Jake or Matt is going to affect him. It shouldn’t,
Caleb Beaver (11:33):
You could almost see quant as his senior, too. Like, he’s got more experience in the games than he does in a way.
JR Howell (11:40):
I just, he made the games at what? 19,
Sevan Matossian (11:43):
I think he’s his senior, but if you’re working with someone and they add another, uh, line to the mix, I think you should get some say, well, at the end of the day, Jason does have a say if, if they did do it and he didn’t like it, he could say, fuck off. I’m leaving.
JR Howell (11:55):
Yeah, for sure. But that’s not, that’s not how Jason is.
Sevan Matossian (11:57):
Okay. That is that different too. If they were actually at the same. That’s how more like how Taylor is.
JR Howell (12:05):
I won’t speak for Taylor.
Sevan Matossian (12:08):
Hey, Jr. Would
Mattew Souza (12:08):
You, would you think it’d be different if,
Sevan Matossian (12:12):
Oh, I’m breaking up bro.
Mattew Souza (12:16):
Alexander you’re love SACA podcast. Andrew Hiller. How are you, what happened? How you feel about that last event?
Sevan Matossian (12:21):
Did he get pulled
Mattew Souza (12:22):
Out? So I was watching that. I know you got a stronger shit deadlift and the cleans. How were those feel before and after?
Speaker 7 (12:29):
Well, I didn’t do it
Mattew Souza (12:30):
A minute. Oh, shit. Yeah. It don’t you.
Speaker 7 (12:35):
Yeah,
Mattew Souza (12:35):
Pretty good. It’s uh, six up in the six hundreds. Yeah. So it’s one of the best in the field. Well, what’s your injury
Speaker 7 (12:42):
Back injury
Mattew Souza (12:42):
From what?
Speaker 7 (12:44):
Uh, I did that in training doing
Mattew Souza (12:46):
Back squat. Did you? Okay, so it’s kind lingering. Yeah. And anything you don’t wanna say, just go ahead and say, shut the fuck up, dude. Don’t ask me those questions. I don’t tell anybody. That’s
Speaker 7 (12:54):
Fine, but let’s say I was expecting a better
Mattew Souza (12:57):
Outcome. Yeah. Well, cause yeah, typically I’m used to seeing you kind of up there. And have you talked about your injury at all or is this the first time? No, it’s the first time. This is the first time. Cool. I
Speaker 7 (13:06):
Injured my back a month ago. And yesterday during the quest snatches, just
Mattew Souza (13:12):
Anything in particular kinda little bit held back because of that or just the whole weekend. You’re kind of in reserve?
Speaker 7 (13:18):
Uh, no, I’d say I was doing what I had to do for the major part of the weekend, but some events were harder on my back for sure. But, uh, with the dumb quests,
Mattew Souza (13:30):
You, you were doing the sandbag, right? Yeah. Yeah. And, and that’s another one of those where you’ve got, you’ve got the long arms and I’ve seen you pull the dead lift down. So the, the back was kind of coming into play there as well. I, to
Speaker 7 (13:41):
Lean on my left side, uh, almost all of the way. So when you, I just
Mattew Souza (13:45):
Couldn’t lift it. So now you get to little rest up and recover and have a good time for a little bit. Yeah, that’s right. Better next year. Be better next year. You’re the man. Thanks for chatting with me, man. Yep.
Sevan Matossian (13:59):
Alexandra Corona
Mattew Souza (14:01):
Carone
Sevan Matossian (14:02):
Out in the wild with Andrew Hiller.
Mattew Souza (14:04):
Uh,
JR Howell (14:10):
But yeah. Going back to
Mattew Souza (14:12):
Guys, guys, go ahead and check.
JR Howell (14:13):
I think he’ll, I think he’ll focus on him moving forward, no matter what, no matter who’s involved with H w P O or who his coaches are also helping, or who’s a part of that crew. I, I think he’s in a really good head space mentally to not worry too much about the noise and to just come in every day and work as a professional. I really think that he’s got a lot more maturity coming into this season. And next season than before,
Sevan Matossian (14:37):
Uh, you’re talking about Jason Hopper. Yes, sir. Okay. I
Taylor Self (14:40):
Just have such a hard time seeing how that’s in any athlete’s best interest. When you look at how Matt and Tia have won and you look at how Justin’s winning and you look at how rich won, and then you just wonder, how is it in an athlete’s best interest for a head coach or a coach or a program to have several dogs in the fight?
Sevan Matossian (14:56):
You mean as opposed to just, uh, one boy and one girl,
Taylor Self (15:00):
One boy, one girl, or, or Justin working with Nier, um, TIAs, exclusively working with Shane, right. Uh, rich working with, um, Darren right himself, Darren. But,
JR Howell (15:13):
But if Sam is, if,
Taylor Self (15:15):
If,
JR Howell (15:16):
If Sam is coached by Harry, but they’re under the H B P umbrella, do you still think that or no,
Mike Halpin (15:25):
That’s what I was wondering. Do,
Taylor Self (15:27):
I don’t know. It’s a fine line.
Mike Halpin (15:30):
And does that even speak to like just the whole camp scenario? Right?
Taylor Self (15:35):
Cause they’re not cuz they’re not living there.
Sevan Matossian (15:37):
Yeah, no, just camps versus individual trainers I think is what happens. Bringing up
Mike Halpin (15:41):
Well, yeah,
Sevan Matossian (15:45):
By helping, uh, just so you guys know this camera down at the bottom, this is, uh, Matt Suza and Andrew Hiller are at the entrance and exit of where the athletes, uh, normally come in and out of, uh, as they end their day, I am hop $20. You have become probably one of the biggest donors to the show. I can’t thank you enough. Uh, proud of Jason. He had a rollercoaster of a games. He’s not gonna go anywhere but up, not close to his peak. Just been doing it since 2017. You know, this guy jar.
JR Howell (16:20):
I don’t know who that is.
Sevan Matossian (16:21):
All right. Kind words for, uh,
JR Howell (16:23):
Could be a family member. I am hop. I don’t know.
Sevan Matossian (16:26):
Uh, uh, oh, I see what you’re saying. Okay. I didn’t even put that together. Uh, Oasis, a spirit of the game to the first person who said, but DOK, sir. Uh, does Nobel give any money to CF crash for Hopper’s tea? Uh, Frank again, dude. Thank you. You’re always dropping the coin. You’re a good dude. Uh, Logan Mars. Holy shit. Vindicate. Put me down for a Bucci the Seon podcast shirt. I’m a large. Wow. What would the picture be? Does that need a picture?
Taylor Self (17:03):
My face,
Sevan Matossian (17:05):
Zach Wells. We don’t. Why don’t we see
Taylor Self (17:08):
<laugh>.
Sevan Matossian (17:10):
Why? Why don’t we see the athletes use kettlebells sport technique. Start the jerk with the kettlebells racked under the chin. It was, it was a cleaning jerk though.
Taylor Self (17:21):
Yeah, they, they were probably focused more on the finishing standard with the elbows and extension over the center of the body knees. Hips locked out. Here we go. T Magda. Yep. Unmute, unmute.
Sevan Matossian (17:35):
Oops, sorry. Uh, Hillary, you gotta unmute yourself buddy.
Taylor Self (17:44):
SU
Sevan Matossian (17:45):
Unmute someone unmute please.
Taylor Self (17:47):
And
Mattew Souza (17:47):
He just was basically saying he’s yeah, no problem, man. He was just basically saying he’s gonna take off to, uh, Romania. He’s gonna take a little vacation and then, um, he’ll catch back up with us in about a week or so. He’s uh, he’s just processing everything in the weekend right now.
Taylor Self (18:00):
What, what place did he take? Did he make the cut?
Mattew Souza (18:03):
I don’t think so.
Mattew Souza (18:04):
No, he didn’t have anything cut. So I was, I always confirming with him whether or not he wanted to go on for so or not just BU rushing people and they maybe didn’t have the weekend they wanted <laugh>.
Sevan Matossian (18:13):
Hey, just so you know anyone you guys see out here, they’re in a bad spot. Cuz anyone who’s out here now <laugh> that’s not good. Right,
Mattew Souza (18:22):
Right.
Mattew Souza (18:23):
Noted. So just go up and fucking go live.
Sevan Matossian (18:25):
Yeah. Just go live with them. No respect. Um, oh,
Mike Halpin (18:31):
My phone died.
Sevan Matossian (18:33):
Oh isn’t oh, I see who this is. Okay. Okay. Uh, Mr. Hopper,
Speaker 10 (18:39):
Um,
Sevan Matossian (18:41):
Oh, you’re calling to tell us you’re not related.
Speaker 10 (18:46):
Yeah. I’m maybe even distantly related. This is, I am hop. I just wanna say like, I just wanted to watch, I watched Jason this, this freaking games and I was like, wow, he’s improved so much from last games. It’s not even, it’s not even like he was able to face himself and I think that he has potential to do really good.
Sevan Matossian (19:07):
Uh, so does, and so does Taylor
Speaker 10 (19:10):
Agreed? Totally. I love you guys. Anyway. Take
Sevan Matossian (19:13):
Care. Hey dude. Thanks for your generous money. Generous donations, generous contribution. Uh,
Taylor Self (19:20):
Gray shaver, gray shaver. Didn’t make the cut either. Oh, the old young bucks find him Hiller.
Sevan Matossian (19:26):
They could do alternating half iron cross for reps. Uh, do you think Haley will reconsider a train style training camp after this games? Or do you think the programming just wasn’t in her favor? Ashley Hubbard? Uh, I, I just wanna just reiterate before whoever answers this she’s 21. Okay. Halan did you wanna, Michael Michael Halan Halpin. Did you wanna try, take a stab at this? Uh,
Mike Halpin (19:49):
No worries. Uh, that would N mayhem if she decided to leave. I think
Sevan Matossian (19:56):
What, what do you mean by that?
Mike Halpin (19:58):
She is their, well, if rich is really retiring, she is their biggest star. And if she, I mean, if she wanted to, if she could go do something else, but she’s been ingrained there for so long that it would blow up mayhem. If she said she was going somewhere else. That’s what I’ve
Sevan Matossian (20:14):
Samwell corny. Tyler. Chris Toal.
Mike Halpin (20:19):
I said she was the biggest, I
Sevan Matossian (20:20):
Didn’t say. Right, right, right. G
Taylor Self (20:23):
Again, she’s the biggest,
Sevan Matossian (20:25):
Right? Thank you. Okay. Uh, you guys win, uh, M F a w a 1 0 1 $5. Thank you. But here’s the thing. Let’s answer the question. Do you think she leaves and search? Does she go find out James towns and then live in his backyard and get strong?
Taylor Self (20:41):
I don’t think she leaves. And I think it’s interesting to look at. I think gee is an athlete that you look at and you’re probably at least to my eye. He seems like you’d be an athlete. That’s very impressionable and coachable by rich. Um, from, by all accounts, Haley seems to be kind of towards the other end of the spectrum. Not so coachable or at the very least not receptive to backing off on some things she’s very good at, in order to close the gap on some things that she’s not so good at. Um, I don’t think she leaves, but I also don’t think she continues to do the same thing that she’s been doing. I think maybe she goes to rich or rather rich goes to her. Um, maybe the gloves come off in a conversation, private conversation between the two of them and, um, not in a negative way, but in a way like, Hey, here are the facts. This is what you need to do. If you don’t do it, you’re gonna keep getting the same result or worse.
Mattew Souza (21:34):
All
Taylor Self (21:35):
Right. That would be my, that would be my approach with her
Mattew Souza (21:37):
Told. Yeah, I was, I was thinking, I would say it’s probably fair for calling you cheater. Yeah. Is extremely fair. No,
Taylor Self (21:47):
I muted his ass.
Mattew Souza (21:48):
I dunno what he is doing. Uh, yeah. I was thinking the same thing is this is the guy him. Fuck the guy. It’s uh, oh, you’re the on Instagrams. An 11 year transformation. Okay. I understand. 11. I’ve seen plenty of 11 transformations, IPA drinking pizza and corporate salesperson. You never reached out to me though. Did you, you could have reached out, had a conversation you could have. Do you think I really needed to though? Uh, you didn’t need to, but you could’ve throw hands in Madison.
Taylor Self (22:33):
I’ve never, can you give us a backstory
Mattew Souza (22:36):
Consider I, so like I said, I don’t remember your name. I was a former soccer player, baseball player, basketball. I was a, I was the smallest kid in my I’ve always had the pre you could beat this weekend. Yeah. How’d you do? I did my best. You did your best. Okay. Well that’s good. That’s good. I’m glad I made it here. That was, uh, you made it here. That’s cool. Uh, that was the hard work. This is the celebration. Well, and also left it all out there. I think I posted something from Ben. Gerron correct. That’s the post you’re talking about? Well, if anything, it’s like, I got a little bit of something. Guess Tim. And is your name Mike by chance? I do remember your name. I apologize for hurting you, but like, I kinda always say, it’s never about like person. I know that it becomes personal at a certain point.
Mattew Souza (23:19):
You, you know, you know, and like I always do wait for someone to come back and reach out to me and then we can have a conversation about it. And I would like RA make ament possibly you could, but I don’t think I send me some pictures of you over the course of your transformation owe you. You don’t owe me anything, but I could do you as service and come back and like kinda retract my statement. I mean, I know I had this huge bit about Tommy Barque. I do my ass off my, you know, I was raised. I know. And I’d like to help you prove that as well.
Speaker 7 (23:46):
I’m a nine year affiliate owner. Like I’m in this for the right
Mattew Souza (23:48):
Reasons. Like, oh, I believe
Speaker 7 (23:49):
You I’m in this to, I, I would never even consider in my wildest dream. I’d rather,
Mattew Souza (23:55):
Oh no, this would be good though. So we could
Speaker 7 (23:57):
Finish
Mattew Souza (23:59):
10 million, whatever, 10 million way down the bottom
Speaker 7 (24:02):
Than take something and have no one know about it.
Mattew Souza (24:06):
Correct.
Speaker 7 (24:08):
Cause I’m the one that looks in the
Mattew Souza (24:09):
Mirror. So when you walked by, had no idea what you were talking about and I would’ve never connected those dots. Like I looked at that picture. I would’ve never connected those. So I’m glad that you yelled at me like, Hey, I’m the dude who yelled, fuck you. And like, well, I’m glad you did that man. And I would like to, it hurt I’m sure.
Speaker 7 (24:24):
Cause I do do things the right way.
Mattew Souza (24:25):
Well, and so he always was reach out to me somewhere on the internet and we can, I, I would like to help you, like anyone who may have not heard your side of it, I can possibly do a retract. But if I wanted to look at kind of the pieces that would make that make sense. And if you do do it the right way, it would make sense to everybody, myself included.
Speaker 7 (24:41):
You’ve been doing for a long
Mattew Souza (24:43):
Time. Correct?
Speaker 7 (24:43):
You’ve been for a long time also, correct? You genuinely care about people’s feelings.
Mattew Souza (24:50):
You just don’t do that.
Speaker 7 (24:51):
You do
Mattew Souza (24:52):
Or what
Speaker 7 (24:53):
You don’t take shots like that, that people
Mattew Souza (24:55):
That you well, that’s probably why I’m the only person who’s doing it because everyone thinks that. But trying to help believe it or not. And I know it might not feel like that to you.
Speaker 7 (25:06):
It’s not helping them. That, that,
Mattew Souza (25:08):
That you’re that,
Speaker 7 (25:10):
That piece
Mattew Souza (25:10):
Of, if you would’ve wandered around with me this weekend, you wouldn’t have said you wouldn’t think the same thing wander around with me this, this whole weekend. That’s not the same thing you would be saying right now. It’s just the fact that I did something to you, which wasn’t personal on my end. It’s like an internet post for
Speaker 7 (25:25):
Me. I know. But you got it’s first. You have to understand it’s personal to me.
Mattew Souza (25:32):
If I did it to him, it would be personal. It’s personal to
Speaker 7 (25:34):
Me.
Mattew Souza (25:35):
Correct. And this I’m, I’m like actually super it’s cool. How nice you’re being about it’s personal minus the other day where you’re walking by yelling. Fuck off. Fuck off. Fuck off interview. Well, you’re right as well.
Speaker 7 (25:47):
And I feel like
Mattew Souza (25:48):
That was respectable. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (25:50):
That’s a fair trade.
Mattew Souza (25:51):
Huge dudes, huge Seon. That dude’s huge. And wait, that was what this entire thing was about. Guys. I made a post about him. Ben Burg on, I think put up a story about his transformation. And I called him out for being guys like, come on, this doesn’t look natural. And
Speaker 7 (26:05):
11 weeks I would’ve said
Mattew Souza (26:07):
Yeah, no way in hell. It’s insane.
Speaker 7 (26:09):
It’s 11 years, man.
Mattew Souza (26:10):
Well, again, it’s always my opinion and here’s yours. And if anything, it’s your opinion against mine. What the fuck do I know about you? Like people just listen to me for whatever reason
Speaker 7 (26:19):
You could show up every day for the next 30 years in drug test me every day and you wouldn’t find
Mattew Souza (26:26):
A single thing seven and
Speaker 7 (26:27):
That’s the
Mattew Souza (26:27):
Way get California hormones on the docket. And we’re gonna do a little thing
Speaker 7 (26:31):
Here.
Mattew Souza (26:31):
We’re gonna do a drug test every week.
Speaker 7 (26:34):
<laugh> cause that’s just the way I am and anyone who knows me that’s they know that thinks the right
Mattew Souza (26:40):
Way. Oh cool. Well dude, it was nice to, to meet you
Speaker 7 (26:43):
Guy. No ING myself when no one else is around. I’m the guy who’s
Sevan Matossian (26:47):
No same of his affiliate. What’s the name of his affiliate?
Mattew Souza (26:49):
The name of what’s the name of your affiliate? Seven one. So no swamp, the swamp, you know, I know, is it in Florida?
Speaker 7 (26:54):
It’s in, uh, swamp Scott, Massachusetts,
Mattew Souza (26:56):
Swamp Scott, Massachusetts. Cool. Well, dude, I’ve had an interaction this weekend, which I don’t know. I assume no one’s seen anybody. Shit that didn’t go so hot. And I think that this one went pretty well. And I would like to do a retraction if you can like gimme a couple things and you don’t have to do that. But the fact that you’re being so kind on the camera, there’s
Speaker 7 (27:14):
A lot of athletes out here that I think, um, you know, are in similar situations with me to me. Well, to me
Mattew Souza (27:21):
Where they’re accused,
Speaker 7 (27:23):
They’ve start. No, not, not necessarily, not, not had nothing to do with you that arm’s
Mattew Souza (27:26):
Getting tired. But
Speaker 7 (27:27):
When you, when you, when you put that stuff out there, you look at people that have gone through transformations and it gives other people that don’t know all the hard work and all the years and years, and years and all the changes that people have gone through and they cast in their minds and it’s unfair to the people that are doing it right on a daily basis on a yearly basis. And that’ll never do things the wrong way. Um, it sucks for them fact,
Mattew Souza (27:54):
If I were girls, for sure. If I were to leave you with one thing, it would be, if anyone ever accuses me, it’s like the ultimate compliment. And I always like, oh, thanks. I don’t wanna be thought of, of not use experience. Cause then I don’t look that. I mean, look at you. I mean, Sevan saying, you look huge on the camera and you do, and you just compete at the CrossFit game. So you’re, you’re killing it, man. Nope. Nothing personal on my end. I can say it over and over, but it was nice talking to you dude. Just say, sorry. Sorry. <laugh> I can say, sorry. There you go. Mike. Mike Hunt. That’s Mike dude Devore. Okay. I knew it was Mike DVO from the swamp Massachusetts
Speaker 7 (28:27):
Dude.
Mattew Souza (28:28):
Cool. Nice talking to Manson’s on
Sevan Matossian (28:32):
Here right now. Ask him if he does turtles. He doess
Speaker 7 (28:34):
He,
Mattew Souza (28:35):
Yeah, he’ll hear
Speaker 7 (28:38):
One of my best friends. Keith. I know Keith.
Sevan Matossian (28:43):
Awesome.
Mattew Souza (28:44):
He says awesome. Yeah.
Sevan Matossian (28:45):
Hey, what’s his, what’s his Instagram. I can’t find it. I tried. I
Mattew Souza (28:48):
Just about your Instagram. Apparently
Speaker 7 (28:49):
Not heavy enough ly I I’m not using, uh, heavy enough dumbbells.
Mattew Souza (28:53):
So what’s your Instagram. He wants to know uh, Mike dure. Mike Dewar spell it. Okay.
Speaker 7 (28:58):
M I K E D U D E V O I R.
Mattew Souza (29:02):
Sweet. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (29:03):
Thanks
Sevan Matossian (29:04):
Man. All right, thanks. Ma’am
Mattew Souza (29:05):
Sorry.
Speaker 7 (29:06):
Appreciate it. Bet.
Mattew Souza (29:09):
It’s been a while coming.
Speaker 7 (29:11):
<laugh>
Mattew Souza (29:17):
All right.
Sevan Matossian (29:17):
It’s better. That was better than the CrossFit games
Mattew Souza (29:19):
That was better. The CrossFit games and it was better than the tip and seal for sure.
Speaker 7 (29:24):
It looked like it was about to be hip and seal again.
Sevan Matossian (29:27):
He was about to grab Hey, so, so, so, uh, Hiller. So basically what happened was is that guy, Ben Bergeron posted a transformation and you said, Hey, this dude, there’s no way this is natural. And then that guy just saw you and he is like, Hey motherfucker. It took me 11 years and you guys guys, and you’re like, oh, okay, cool. I’ll do a retraction.
Mattew Souza (29:44):
Well, I said, I could possibly make a retraction. If he were to give me the information, he never reached out to me. I never heard from that guy. And I honestly, I didn’t know his name at first because I posted it from Bergeron and it was quite the transformation picture. If you could find it, pull it up. It’s why dude,
Sevan Matossian (29:57):
He’s huge. That guy.
