Mattew Souza (00:02):

Jay sizzle.

Sevan Matossian (00:03):

Bam. We’re live.

Mattew Souza (00:04):

Howdy, baby.

Sevan Matossian (00:05):

Oh, oh, sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Come on, man. Sorry. Sorry. That was my bad. Uh, no Olson getting ready to go home. Let’s listen to SU a second. Is it gonna be loud as shit there? Let’s listen to SU Susan, can we get in? Can we get some SU can we get some SU can we get some Susan?

Heidi (00:27):

Hi.

Sevan Matossian (00:28):

Hi, Heidi. Are you headed over to where? Uh, SU is where the athletes are kissing and hugging. Look at all the time. Noah’s giving people. Holy shit.

Heidi (00:35):

Um, I wish I don’t know where that is. Oh, I see where it is. Okay, sure. I can go over there.

Sevan Matossian (00:42):

All right. Let us know when you get there.

Heidi (00:44):

Sure.

Sevan Matossian (00:45):

Uh, SU what’s up. Not SU can we unmute SU no, he can only unmute himself. Janowski Ricky gada oh my goodness. Oh, I wonder if we could get, um,

Mattew Souza (01:05):

Oh, this next event is gonna be fucking silly.

Mattew Souza (01:10):

Hey,

Sevan Matossian (01:10):

That was amazing. Hey, great. That’s right. He gave it as all, by the way. All those people right there could just go, go and can catch out with the athletes as they come out into the parking lot. LAER uh, this is the beer garden. Uh, also we saw yellow Wolf play there,

Mattew Souza (01:38):

Yellow Wolf,

Sevan Matossian (01:40):

Yellow Wolf, the rapper, uh, Heidi. Hi. Are you muted? Oh, she might be. She might get, be getting jacked up cuz of her, uh, yeah, the connection’s too slow.

Mattew Souza (01:53):

<laugh> who snuggle

Sevan Matossian (01:54):

Too many people.

Mattew Souza (01:56):

<laugh> she froze. Holy

Sevan Matossian (01:58):

Shit. Mo snuggle got away with two, no reps who who’s that GRE

Mattew Souza (02:02):

Shaver. Your girl, dude.

Sevan Matossian (02:04):

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, it’s funny. And then she cleaned and then she cleaned it up a little bit. Right? At the end

Mattew Souza (02:10):

She got better or she went, which is

Sevan Matossian (02:12):

Yeah. Good honor. But man, those, the, the man, they were giving her some home cooking at first.

Mattew Souza (02:17):

Yeah. Woo.

Sevan Matossian (02:20):

Uh, I, I would say even fowke fowke, you know, was as close as some of hers. Wow. Look at that shirt. Fraser is not the goat changed my mind. That’s a good shirt. That is a great shirt. Uh, alpaca. Can we bring that um, up while we, oh, well we

Mattew Souza (02:40):

Gotta talk about this last event.

Sevan Matossian (02:42):

I know. I know, but I’m just so excited. I’m just so excited about what Sue is doing. What is Sue is filming?

Mattew Souza (02:46):

Let’s brief this then let’s go to the press conference, right?

Sevan Matossian (02:49):

Oh yeah. I can’t believe there’s someone actually at the press conference I heard the other day only three people showed up. Look, someone who’s that is that, uh, Danny Spiegel. Someone’s like barely closed.

Mattew Souza (03:06):

Well, well Trish. Oh, fuck. Wrong. Where did that go? Here

Sevan Matossian (03:12):

We go. The event was the Bucci of the game so far. It was pretty wild. And I look, I like how long it took to, uh, to, uh, drag out.

Mattew Souza (03:21):

That was awesome. I, and I’m so happy. They added another bag. Had to do that.

Sevan Matossian (03:28):

Uh, Adrian Bosman sitting there in the middle. Will Trisha take a 15 or tonight. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Uh, can we hear this? Can we, can we listen to this?

Mattew Souza (03:39):

Yeah. You want me just to try to go, uh, give it on the regular mic and see what happens?

Sevan Matossian (03:43):

Yeah.

Mattew Souza (03:44):

Got it.

Sevan Matossian (03:46):

No, no. Don’t mute. No, no. What regular mic. What’s he doing? Oh,

Speaker 6 (03:53):

Two executives in the game will be here today. And two, you’ve seen some spectacular performances from these individuals. The gonna turn over to, uh, Justin. Uh, we have some media on the line as well. If they would like to ask questions, uh, should click the Q and a button or submit

Sevan Matossian (04:21):

Question button. Oh, that must be Andrew Weinstein. That’s the, that’s the guy that called and fired me. That’s the fucking guy that French kisses, fucking Justin Lefranco over there on the left, our teenage open mouth, kisses him

Speaker 6 (04:34):

Us tonight. I hope you guys were able to see the one ceremony, uh, and then get live with policy and which is something that was extra special. And we wanted to offer to these athletes this year. Uh, also in case you missed the policy was rocking. Um, I wanna start with these athletes down here, G and Nick, uh, for opening remarks on their event win. And

Mattew Souza (04:54):

Is that Berg?

Sevan Matossian (04:56):

It is

Speaker 6 (04:58):

Sorry.

Sevan Matossian (04:59):

Hey, let’s uh, let’s just pull this down to the corner and talk and if we see something I can’t, I can’t listen to this. I can’t listen to this.

Mattew Souza (05:07):

It’s gonna be a bunch of bullshit. Let’s talk about let’s debrief alpaca. Yeah. Let’s talk about alpaca. Yes. And we’ll debrief, uh,

Sevan Matossian (05:14):

Sandbag ladder. Yeah. Hey, they wilted at the end. Huh? All the guys signed, dude.

Mattew Souza (05:18):

They had such a chance just before we, before we go over alpaca, my coach texted me this and I wasn’t quite sure at first, but he goes, this is so exciting. I don’t think it’s too much to say that this sandbag event has potential to be the most iconic in history. Can you imagine the pictures that are gonna come from this of fricking Danny Spiegel holding 250 pounds on her shoulder? That was the most engaged, the fucking in a lift. I think that’s the most engaged. The crowd has ever been. It’s the most engaged I’ve ever been in?

Sevan Matossian (05:55):

I, I, I, I think it was uhoh Taylor froze. Did Taylor freeze for you guys too?

JR Howell (06:01):

Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (06:02):

Taylor’s toast. Here’s the thing I here’s. It was, it was, it was, it was an amazing competition. It was an amazing competition. And I would say that, uh, I don’t wanna take anything away from the program, but I wanna say 50 you, sorry, Taylor, you froze. I wanna say 50% of it was the fact that we got to see basically, oh, now he’s gone. Uh, Taylor Koff. We, we, oh, sorry, not Taylor. We had Justin Maderas Taylor. Uh, geez, Louise, Justin Maderas all right. Uh, Koff and, um, Rickie, Gerard all hanging on until like for so many rounds. I think that’s really, uh, what made that I great. And Danny Spiegel don’t get me wrong. That was fucking insane. How easy she made every lift, but I think it was the competition between those men that made that they, it was 51% of that. We basically got to see the, the, the, what, what is gonna end up being the winner of the games. Everyone’s gonna look back and be like, it happened right there at that workout, I think. And then the sad

JR Howell (07:03):

That seems like, yeah, it seems like it mattered a little bit more for the men than it did for the women. So the excitement just wasn’t there as much for the women.

Sevan Matossian (07:11):

Yeah. And, and the sad, the only sad part about that whole event was Jason, Jason Hopper. And not that he’s not gonna have future chances, but those are the kind of moments that make people like the Josh bridges that like, they didn’t win the games, but you never forget them. So if he lifts that, he goes down as the guy who was the only guy to lift the heaviest bag and, and you don’t get a lot of those opportunities. And so, and, and I really wanted him to make that. No, one’s gonna forget FOW.

JR Howell (07:41):

I think there’s something too, seeing the three people that go before you fail and not giving you the confidence that, you know, you can do it too.

Sevan Matossian (07:49):

I agree. I agree.

Mattew Souza (07:50):

But still fuck you was so close. And I thought the same thing, I was like, man, this is it’s an opportunity, but

JR Howell (07:58):

It wasn’t there this year. But I was there in 2019 on the clean ladder the first year they did the one person at a time on the platform. Oh, okay. When Matt hit three 80 and Tia hit two 70, it was, I can’t imagine it being much louder than that, but the people that were at both probably would know.

Sevan Matossian (08:14):

Yeah. I, I was in, I’ve been in there when it’s so loud that while they’re screaming, um, I, I, and I’ve never been anywhere where it’s this loud. Uh, my, I had a thought, oh, I need to get out of here. It’s getting too loud. Like shit was ringing. Like weird shit was happening. It was, it was beyond deafening. And, uh, and I’ve been in there when everyone’s crying too. So that year, uh, I think it was the year, the first year tee did tee winner first year there, Tia winner first year in no tee win her first year. Even further back in Carson, right?

JR Howell (08:45):

Yes.

Sevan Matossian (08:45):

Yeah. Anyway, uh, I did, I did like the event. I thought it was fucking crazy. Uh, the fact that they rolled out a three mind boggling, right. A, a perfect, a perfect run event. Yeah.

JR Howell (09:00):

I’m just glad they did that. And they didn’t send all of them to the, to the tiebreaker setup.

Sevan Matossian (09:06):

Right, right. Oh, did we lose Suza too? Oh, there we go. Hey guys. Hey, uh, do we wanna talk about Al um, Al Al uh, Hey Susan, were you in there for that? For that last workout? Just now?

Mattew Souza (09:23):

Yeah. The announcement of it.

Sevan Matossian (09:28):

Oh, you’re breaking up. Pretty good. Can you see me? Yeah, you’re breaking up pretty good. That’s okay. Uh, can we bring up alpaca? Do you wanna talk about alpaca first or do you wanna talk about that event? First alpaca is let’s

Mattew Souza (09:39):

Talk about alpaca. Yep.

Sevan Matossian (09:41):

Justin wasn’t on Matt for tiebreak. I dunno what that means. Is that a wrestling thing? Uh, Brandon Reed, $10. I don’t think I’ve heard a louder crowd, even though it was classic CrossFit though. It was, or wasn’t. Um, I think they

Mattew Souza (09:57):

Put Colton in that last bag.

Sevan Matossian (10:00):

<laugh>

Mattew Souza (10:02):

Stuffed him in there and rolled it out. So Jeremy sent that to me. I fucking lost it.

Sevan Matossian (10:08):

Uh, Taylor, you got, I think you have a bad connection.

Sevan Matossian (10:11):

Wow.

Sevan Matossian (10:13):

A 126 feet sled push 126 foot sled push decreasing in load. What does that mean? Anyone?

JR Howell (10:25):

Yeah, so it means they’re, it looks like they’re gonna start with six kettlebells. They’re gonna push it down. Then they’re gonna do legless rope climbs. They’re gonna take two of the kettlebells off. They’re gonna do their cleaning jerks with those. Then they’re gonna push the sled back then. They’re gonna do clean jerks again after legless rope climbs. So it looks like the load.

Sevan Matossian (10:48):

So that hundred 20, that hundred 26 foot, uh, sled push decreasing load is not one of the movements. That is a, I think that’s a description that should be probably at the bottom. That’s a description.

Mattew Souza (10:59):

No, it’s a start push.

JR Howell (11:00):

Correct.

Mattew Souza (11:02):

So at 3, 2, 1 go, they start the push is my connection better?

Sevan Matossian (11:06):

Yeah.

Mattew Souza (11:06):

Okay. So 3, 2, 1 go. They start the push with all six kettlebells in the sled. When they get to the first 42 foot marker, they unload two kettlebells. They get to the next 42 foot marker. They unload two kettlebells and they get to the final spot where they have their legless rope climb. They unload the last two kettlebells.

Sevan Matossian (11:24):

Exactly what I was saying. So that 126 foot sled push decreasing load is just a title. It’s not has nothing to do with no.

Mattew Souza (11:30):

That’s how the workout starts.

Sevan Matossian (11:32):

No, because 42 plus, oh, you push it with the entire load all the way to one end and then work your way back. No.

Mattew Souza (11:37):

So 3, 2, 1 go. You start at one end of the field and you have six kettlebells in the sled. Yeah. The field is broken into three sections, 3 42 foot sections,

Sevan Matossian (11:47):

Which equals 126.

Mattew Souza (11:48):

Exactly

Sevan Matossian (11:49):

Three, which makes that thing, the title, which makes that thing. The title for the workout. 126 foot sled foot. Oh,

Mattew Souza (11:54):

Okay. Four time, 3, 2, 1 go. You push the sled. And when you get to the first 42 foot mark, you unload two kettlebells. You get to that 84 foot mark. You unload two KET balls. You get to the 126 foot mark. You unload two kettlebells. You advance your rope climb two legless. You go back to the first set of kettlebells. You do your kettlebell, cleaning jerks, and then you load those kettlebells in the sled. You push it 42 feet. Run back to your legless. You do your two Lego rope climbs. Go back to the next, uh, go back to your sled. At least I think that’s how it’s gonna go. Jr.

Sevan Matossian (12:25):

When do you push the sled? 120,

JR Howell (12:27):

Actually unloading the kettlebells. You progress down the field to your rope and then,

Sevan Matossian (12:33):

But you never pushed sled 126. You never pushed the sled 126 feet on broken. It’s 42 feet. Stop. 42 feet stop. Because three times 42 is 1 26 is what I’m saying?

Mattew Souza (12:44):

Yes, but the first,

Sevan Matossian (12:44):

When have you ever seen in a work? Sorry, go ahead.

Mattew Souza (12:47):

The first push is 126 feet straight. You’re just unloading the kettlebells as you go. That’s correct. And then you push the sled each section on the way back as you progress through the workout

JR Howell (12:59):

And you pick them back up

Mattew Souza (13:01):

And you pick the kettlebells back up as you go and load

Sevan Matossian (13:03):

Them. It’s a, it it for sure. Okay. But it’s pointless to have that written. There does nothing. It’s only, you

Mattew Souza (13:08):

Mean it’s pointless to have that written there

JR Howell (13:11):

When it says decreasing and load, I think it means that you push 42 drop off to push 42 drop off to push 42 drop off to, and those are the two that you’re gonna use that are near your rope for the first cleaning jerks. Then you’ll reload your sled. Here we go. And push down and progress back down the field load. We

Sevan Matossian (13:30):

Got collar. Hold on a second. We got

Mattew Souza (13:31):

Caught. We got, he can do you guys.

Mattew Souza (13:33):

And we have enough, uh, audio to where he could hear you. And uh, hopefully you guys

Mattew Souza (13:37):

Can hear him. What’s

Sevan Matossian (13:38):

Up voice. Oh, what’s up man. Congratulations. Oh

Mattew Souza (13:40):

My God. That was fuck <laugh>. That was fucking epic. Holy shit. I swear to God. I, I was losing my fucking mind in there. I can’t, I wasn’t watching. I was underneath with Shane. The two of us are too nervous to go up. So we’re watching down the belly of the Coliseum and watching the feed and I’m fucking going nuts. I swear to God in, in warmups, Ricky barely hit the two 60. I was like, oh, this is, this could be a fucking disaster. And he gets out there and I mean, that was just sick. That was fucking,

Sevan Matossian (14:07):

Did you guys know that they were gonna pull out a three 50 bag?

Mattew Souza (14:11):

No. And, and honestly, Curtis back there when I was like, what are they gonna do after three 40? Uh, and Curtis was Curtis bowler. He was just like, I don’t know. I may probably gonna go to a tie break. And then when they pulled out the three 50, I looked over and he was smiling. I was like, you sneaky fucker. He knew, but no, man, that was listen. When that event started, I was like, oh God, this is fucking dumb. And then by the end, I was just like, this is pretty fucking epic. He looks pretty sick.

Sevan Matossian (14:37):

Yeah. Oh what so. And that’s kind of where I was at it too. What do you think grew on you? Do you think it was the fact that, um, it was Ricky, Justin and Koff put on such a good show. Mean

Mattew Souza (14:47):

Obviously it, it, that, that added to the drama and that was amazing. But the truth of the matter was, is like these athletes have not touched these bags. And to me, the fact that they were able to do what they were able to do. I mean, think about what they did think about Danny speed will hitting two 50 and Jackie Dahlstrom hitting two 40. Are you hit me like that? That’s crazy. And then these guys, I, what they were able to do is just amazing. And you watch, you watch these behemoth, right? These power lifters, uh, who, who are strong men who, who can do this, but they weigh 350 pounds, 400 pounds. And these guys, what they did tonight was superhuman. I mean, it was really, it was, it was one of those things where we know they can lift a barbell, the fact that they were able to stretch themselves and do this. It was fucking epic, dude. It was, it was phenomenal. I am, I was dead wrong. Cuz when it started, I was like, this was fucking dumb. And by the end I was like, this might have been one of the coolest fucking things I’ve seen at the games.

Mattew Souza (15:41):

Have you, do you think that’s go ahead, Taylor, go ahead. I was gonna say, do you think that’s one of the most iconic moments at the games in recent history? I think

Mattew Souza (15:47):

So. I mean, I think the capital yeah was one of the coolest events, especially finishing at the capital in Madison. And I think this one, I think you gotta see those, these two events so far from this games are, are the two that really stand out.

Mattew Souza (16:03):

Uh, will you talk to Ricky tonight?

Mattew Souza (16:05):

Uh, yeah, he’s going there’s Benny over there. Uh, get him, get him treatment here. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I’ll just checking. All right. Alright. Just let snore know. Yeah. Okay. The other one’s with Gabby anyway. All right. Alright. The spot’s free. Yeah. Cool. Okay. Uh, he’s getting some body worked on now cuz I think when the adrenaline wears off

Mattew Souza (16:27):

<laugh>

Mattew Souza (16:28):

Mean he just lifted how many fucking thousands of pounds of stand back. So he’s probably gonna be pretty beat up. Um, and it sounds like they’ve got a pretty grueling one in the morning. I, I haven’t heard the event yet, but sleds kettlebell. What’s the kettlebells. It, is it a

Mattew Souza (16:42):

Cleaner jerk.

Mattew Souza (16:43):

Okay. What’s the weight?

Mattew Souza (16:45):

70 kilo or sorry, 70 pounds each hand 20 reps to start then 15 then 10.

Mattew Souza (16:50):

Okay. That’s aggressive. Um, what’s the sled.

Mattew Souza (16:53):

The sled starts with 126 feet and they push it 42 feet sections and unload the kettlebells as they go. So it starts with six kettlebells push 42 feet unload to push 42 feet unload to push 42 feet unload to they go to the rope to legless. They go back to their first set of kettlebells, 20 cleaning jerks load ’em in the sled push 42 feet back to the rope.

Mattew Souza (17:13):

Love it. That sounds great. Is the leg list stays consistent at two,

Mattew Souza (17:17):

Two? Yep.

JR Howell (17:18):

Think six total reps. Is it

Mattew Souza (17:20):

Six? It was

Mattew Souza (17:20):

More probably tall.

Mattew Souza (17:22):

I wish it was three

Mattew Souza (17:24):

Might be tall.

Mattew Souza (17:25):

Ah, that would be great. They’re

JR Howell (17:27):

Probably 18 feet. Yeah. Well say it’s 20 feet, but they’ll, they’ll be 18

Mattew Souza (17:31):

On that Ze rig, right?

Mattew Souza (17:32):

Yeah. And from the demo it looked like it started in the seated position.

Mattew Souza (17:36):

Oh wow.

Mattew Souza (17:37):

Yeah. So I don’t know if you guys caught that. Wow. But I saw, it looked like they were outta a seated position. They also looked like they

Mattew Souza (17:42):

Had saw,

Mattew Souza (17:43):

They also looked like they had to lower themselves down legless as well

Interviewee (17:46):

Too. Ask you questions. We were joking about this earlier. Me and some of the coaches. Do you feel like, like Boz just like opened up his dream journal and like started

Sevan Matossian (17:56):

The

Mattew Souza (17:56):

Dream journal and it’s like, oh, it’s like all the shit I’ve ever wished at the cross beat games. And he is just fucking like spewing it out this year. It’s hilarious to, it’s just like all these things are fucking, but it’s cool man. I mean, and listen, you’ve got, how long has it been since we’ve had the drama of these like three monsters going into the final day? All within 30 points of each other. I mean, I it’s incredibly compelling. I think it’s great for the sport. You got Justin who, everyone fucking cheers for. You got Rick. You, everyone fucking hates. Hey you got Roman. You know, you know he’s a cyborg from Russia, fucking Drago. Like you got it’s just this fucking awesome drama. That’s yeah. It’s so fucking cool. And you know it’s it’s it’s pretty fucking good. Oh there’s Ricky right there. You wanna say hi

Sevan Matossian (18:40):

Savan oh, I’d love to say hi

Mattew Souza (18:42):

Real quick.

Mattew Souza (18:43):

Come on.

Sevan Matossian (18:44):

Oh he does. Woo warrior. Right

Ricky (18:47):

Guys. What’s up Savanna.

Sevan Matossian (18:49):

What’s up dude. Warrior.

Ricky (18:51):

Yeah man.

Sevan Matossian (18:52):

Hey Ricky, every guy I saw Benny what’s up brother, bro. Ricky. Every saw a guy, every, every guy in gal I saw who started getting into the heavy bags. After every, every thing, every lift, they would do this with their neck or they’d be doing some weird stuff with their back. Was that shit fucking you guys up like tweaking you in some, in some contorted,

Ricky (19:11):

Uh, a little bit. The neck was a bit twisted in the back. Just trying to make sure it was ready to go for the next lift. <laugh>

Sevan Matossian (19:18):

Um, how, how much time did you have once you started lifting? Did you have a time limit?

Ricky (19:23):

Uh, they said 30 seconds, but if we were confident to REAT attempt it they’d let us go again.

Sevan Matossian (19:28):

So 30 seconds. But if you just wanted to say, fuck you, I’m gonna stay up here. You could. Yeah.

Ricky (19:32):

Yeah, exactly. Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (19:33):

Those are some interesting rules.

Ricky (19:35):

Give me one more shot.

Mattew Souza (19:36):

Ricky. Are you getting a lot of love at the games?

Ricky (19:39):

Yeah, man. It’s incredible. Yeah.

Mattew Souza (19:42):

The comment section loves you.

Sevan Matossian (19:46):

Hey, what feedback do you have? Are you working on a feedback, uh, list for uh, Justin for next year? Like

Ricky (19:53):

Not yet. Not yet. Focus on tomorrow.

Sevan Matossian (19:55):

Okay. Awesome. All right, brother. I hope you win. Rooting for you.

Ricky (19:58):

Thank you. Take 10. Thanks

Sevan Matossian (19:59):

Bro. Bye.

Mattew Souza (20:01):

Yo. All right, I’m gonna try to get some sleep boys. I’ll probably talk to you all

Sevan Matossian (20:04):

Tomorrow. Okay? Okay, bye. Appreciate

Mattew Souza (20:05):

Bye guys.

Ricky (20:07):

Bye ladies.

Mattew Souza (20:10):

Call’s a good guy. I like him a lot.

Sevan Matossian (20:13):

Why? What? Um, when you tell him it’s a hundred, it’s not 120. Pull up the workout again. Pull up the workout again. What’s the very first thing you do. When that workout starts 3, 2, 1 go. What do you do?

JR Howell (20:26):

My my guess is you’re starting at the end zone opposite. The rig where the ropes are. You have all of your kettlebells on your sled. You push 42.

Sevan Matossian (20:35):

You take, wait, wait, wait, scroll down a second. You think, you think you think you push 40, even though it says, uh, it

Mattew Souza (20:40):

Says, it says let’s read it. That’s why it says

JR Howell (20:44):

Decreasing and load because you’re decreasing the load. Every

Sevan Matossian (20:48):

I fully understand that. I fully understand that. I, I fully understand that Fran doesn’t start off by saying, uh, this is gonna be 45 thrust. You’re at

JR Howell (20:55):

The bottom. It says unloading,

Sevan Matossian (20:57):

Unloading. I, I told, I hear you. I hear you. I’m saying when you write Fran, you don’t say 45 thrusters, uh, uh, 45. Uh pullups you’re you still don’t <laugh> what? Don’t I get, help me.

Will (21:11):

Help me. Let me get, let me do it. Okay. This is the field. Thank you. Yeah, the fir it starts you’re on the side of the field. Let’s say there’s a rig, blah, blah, blah. You go 126 feet with the sled. You’re unloading kettle balls as you guys.

Sevan Matossian (21:22):

I totally get that. You guys stop. I totally get that. I totally get that. He’s

JR Howell (21:27):

Saying why do you write

Sevan Matossian (21:28):

It that way? You would never write that in a fucking workout ever anywhere. It’s fucking idiocy is what I’m telling you. Hey,

Interviewee (21:34):

Did you guys, did you guys do that? You write of

Sevan Matossian (21:36):

Scroll, scroll down, scroll down so I can see the workout, the work or scroll up so I can see the workout. Look at this. If this is written the way you was written on.com, you would do two legless rope climbs. That’s what the workout would start. That’s how it’s written. Then you would do 20 kettlebells cleans. Then you would push the sled 42 feet. And then you would, you would, you would pull out the, the two kettlebells. That’s the only

Mattew Souza (21:59):

Written. Now you almost had it. You almost had it. You’re you’re still missing it. Okay. The workout actually does start with the sled Bush, the workout. Doesn’t start with the legless rope blind.

Sevan Matossian (22:11):

Ah, I see. I see. Now I, and it’s just not written out. I see. I

Mattew Souza (22:16):

See. Okay. Okay. So scroll down. Let’s read. So

Sevan Matossian (22:18):

Make sure we’re right. So let me ask you this. So it should be written 42 foot push unload, two kettlebells, 42 foot push unload, two kettlebells, 42 foot foot. Okay. Thank you.

Mattew Souza (22:28):

Okay. We’ll scroll down, but, or yeah, let’s make sure we’re right. Athlete will start with the sled loaded with six kettlebells. They will progress down the field, unloading pairs of kettlebells. As they go once to the other side, they will complete two rope climbs. Then 20 kettlebell cleaning jerks with the first pair. They will then load the kettlebells into the sled, push it down the field of the second pair of kettlebells after going back for two more rope, cetera, cetera. Cetera. Damn. Wow. We were a good guess. We didn’t need to do that. We could have just scrolled down and read the fucking description

Sevan Matossian (22:58):

Or it could just be written, right?

Mattew Souza (23:00):

<laugh>

Interviewee (23:01):

Hey did or could

Sevan Matossian (23:03):

Or could just be written

Interviewee (23:04):

Inspiration, the inspiration for that. Did you guys see the video and Boz explaining what inspired that workout?

Mattew Souza (23:08):

What did inspire it?

Interviewee (23:10):

So he went back all the way to and Sivan you’ll remember this, the, uh, the

Sevan Matossian (23:14):

Storage box. I watched it. I saw it. Yep. Yeah, go

Interviewee (23:16):

Ahead. Yeah. Okay. Okay.

Mattew Souza (23:17):

Well explain it to us. I didn’t see it.

Interviewee (23:19):

So basically he said back in the day, when they first started there, wasn’t all this equipment like rogue, hadn’t built all these sleds and everything else. So that we’d find these pieces of sheet metal and they would essentially load a bunch of equipment on it, use them as sleds. And then as they started to do that, they said, well, we could incorporate in the workout, loading a bunch of equipment on it, dragging it to one side, doing an, uh, movement with that equipment and then dragging it back. So it was kind of old school, uh, CrossFit inspired from when there wasn’t all this fancy equipment.

Sevan Matossian (23:50):

Oh yeah. Uh, this is a grinder. This, this is a grinder, but uh, fast right. Could be, it’s just, uh, the, the movements and, and all the demands are so short, not high that you just, you have to keep going. Right. That’s a

Mattew Souza (24:07):

Fucking heavy sled. That’s a grip and a heavy sled, but it doesn’t say anything about the rope climbs being led. Can you scroll back down for us?

Sevan Matossian (24:15):

Oh, it says legless in the description up there. Uh, or in the, in the actual write up. That’s I know, but

Mattew Souza (24:20):

Seated.

Sevan Matossian (24:22):

Oh,

Mattew Souza (24:23):

Remember, uh, who said seated SU

Interviewee (24:26):

Yeah, that was a visual that bitch showed up. Don’t don’t quote me on that, but that’s what it looked like. And then also in the video, on the dissent down, it looked like they had to go leg list on the way down as well.

Mattew Souza (24:37):

Oh my God. That is a game changer.

Sevan Matossian (24:40):

Where did you see that? Where did you see that Susa?

Interviewee (24:43):

So they had a whole video on the, um, broadcast base screen inside the, uh, beer garden that we watched that on.

Sevan Matossian (24:49):

Right. I saw that. And you saw someone doing, uh, legless descent too?

Interviewee (24:53):

Yes. Yeah. Yeah.

Mattew Souza (24:56):

It’s gonna be 420 pounds to start the sled that’s fucking heavy. Yeah. And then 420, again, to finish.

Sevan Matossian (25:07):

I, I assume it’ll be outside in the, uh, what’s that called? The Northfield.

JR Howell (25:11):

Yeah. On the turf.

Sevan Matossian (25:12):

Wow. And this happens tomorrow at, uh, 9:00 AM central time. Hey, it, it it’s, it’s a good one for a lot of guys, right?

JR Howell (25:24):

What’s definitely one of those movements that is gonna expose people similarly to the peg board, but that workout started with peg board and it really wasn’t that many. And some of the athletes only had to do three in the whole workout because they were cut. So this one having to do six, if they are from a seated position and if they are at least 15 feet or higher, that’s gonna be probably eight to 10 poles for most of them just to 15 feet. And remember we talked about on.com. We did our predictions that seated rope climbs were on seated legless, preferably a L position were on main site within two weeks before the games.

Sevan Matossian (26:02):

Another point for Jr. Uh, how, how that was two weeks before the games.

JR Howell (26:10):

It was within two weeks. Yeah. I think the workout was, uh, overhead squats and seated Lego rope climbs, maybe.

Sevan Matossian (26:17):

Uh, I, I think Susan’s on something. What do you think

Mattew Souza (26:21):

If it’s a seated Lego rope climb, it completely changes the workout. And I don’t think there’re gonna be a lot of guys that are good at it. I think they’re gonna be a select few. That can be good at all. Three of these movements in tandem.

Sevan Matossian (26:32):

It also depends on the length of the rope too. Right?

JR Howell (26:34):

We talked about that too. Remember we said, okay, well you can’t just keep making the rope taller and taller, although would be entertaining. It’s a little bit dangerous. So what can you do to make the rope climb longer without actually lengthening it? You just make, ’em starting to see the position.

Mattew Souza (26:47):

Yeah. That’s pretty crazy.

Sevan Matossian (26:50):

Uh, any thoughts right off the bat? Do you see this and, and say, okay, this person’s gonna win this outta the dudes.

Mattew Souza (26:56):

Their bodies are fucked on those. Kettleball cleaning jerks too. After tonight,

JR Howell (27:00):

45 reps is gonna be nasty.

Mattew Souza (27:03):

Terrible. It’s gonna mango people.

Sevan Matossian (27:06):

Yeah. They, they, they looked mangled. Every dude walked off from the bag. I mean, did you see the way those bags were like collapsing Madera’s midline. It was like,

Mattew Souza (27:15):

And Jr. This is these cattle balls are for sure. Coming from the hang. And that’s just gonna make, make the leg look so much harder.

JR Howell (27:22):

For sure. Like I said, so much grip, fatigue, so much forearm and pulling fatigue.

Mattew Souza (27:26):

This is gonna destroy anyone with even the slightest hole in a legless rope line.

Sevan Matossian (27:33):

Brian, I love it. That will shows up when it’s clear. Chevon needs a chaperone. Yeah. It’s like he, he brought the wheelchair out and took me out, took me out the party. <laugh> oh my goodness. God heated.

Mattew Souza (27:48):

Uh, have we talked to Hiller?

Sevan Matossian (27:51):

Not yet, but gimme some guesses on this who do is this does, does LAER Spencer and Saxon come out of the woodworks and, and, and, and fuck shit up here. Patrick ner. He can work right.

Mattew Souza (28:02):

Pat ner be great on this workout.

Sevan Matossian (28:04):

So someone’s gonna make a statement here, right?

JR Howell (28:07):

Brent’s good at legless, traditionally, just really good at this kind of a format.

Mattew Souza (28:11):

Ricky’s great at legless.

Sevan Matossian (28:13):

He is.

Mattew Souza (28:14):

Oh yeah. Yeah.

Sevan Matossian (28:16):

Does he do that? Like running man thing when he is legless like that kind of that Kip

Mattew Souza (28:20):

A lot too. Justin’s also really good.

Sevan Matossian (28:24):

I, I was, I was surprised on that bag. There were some people who had some explosive pops, they looked as good as gee and, and, and they just couldn’t land it on the shoulder. Like, did you see the, the, the round that Saxon lost and he actually threw the bag over his shoulder and then the second attempt couldn’t make it yeah. Too strong. The first attempt, not strong enough, the second attempt. I’m sorry. J

JR Howell (28:42):

I said, yeah, I did see that. It was crazy how fast it flew up.

Sevan Matossian (28:45):

And, uh, and same with Travis mayor. Like he, it seems, it seemed like maybe he had the ability, but just couldn’t, uh, just couldn’t pull it off, uh, who day look good. Okay. So at the top here, I mean, I mean, it looks, they haven’t put in the scores yet, but it looks like Roman and, uh, Ricky and Justin will still be the guys, right?

JR Howell (29:07):

Yeah. I think so.

Sevan Matossian (29:11):

Adler took 16th in that last workout and Roman took 13th and that’s the one who’s nipping at the Hills of, uh, of Roman, uh, thoughts on who was gonna win this workout tomorrow. Alpaca between Justin Maderas, Ricky, Gerard and Roman Koff.

Mattew Souza (29:28):

Roman’s also really good at legless. He won the legless workout in the last chance last year,

JR Howell (29:33):

I would say Roman will miss.

Mattew Souza (29:36):

He’s a big, ah, man, but the seated legless changes things for somebody with big, with a big body like him, man. I don’t know. I think Ricky,

Sevan Matossian (29:48):

Uh, who do you think takes second? I got, uh, Roman for Jr. And I got you for, I got you down as Ricky.

Mattew Souza (29:54):

I think, I think Justin takes second. He’s got great overhead too, with the cut.
