Sevan Matossian (00:03):
BA more. Do you just
Caleb Beaver (00:04):
Want the leaderboard? Oh,
Sevan Matossian (00:07):
Oh, BA or live bam Caleb with hi Caleb. Hi Caleb. I know Emily. She lives in trains, trains, trains, trains an hour away. Matt, Reynold’s just doing it now. No need to post, just send in a few dollars. You’re a good dude. You’re a good dude. Um, what happened to Sam dancer? He is out is there, there’s probably like a morning cha of article or something about it. Does anyone know what happened to Sam dancer, but blues bicep?
crossfitcrash (00:39):
I did not see that
Sevan Matossian (00:42):
He’s toes. Can we look at Sam dancers? Um, Instagram and, uh, and I’ll do a live read. Uh, we are one hour away before. What is event two a and two B. That was rained out yesterday. I’m here with Taylor self and Jr Howell. And I am excited, uh, to, uh, have a chat with you guys. Get up to speed, put some pieces together. When was that last post that he made? So he hasn’t posted about pulling out yet. Okay. Uh, that was a day ago. So basically while we were doing the live show this morning, uh, we, someone in the comment said Sam dancer, uh, to his bicep and just ran off the field and that he’s out. That’s first. You’re hearing of that Taylor.
crossfitcrash (01:23):
That’s the first I’m hearing of it.
SMTP (01:25):
Yeah. Yep. That’s first.
Sevan Matossian (01:26):
Perfect. Uh, maybe we’ll go to, uh, thank you, Steve. Very cool brother. Um, maybe we could go over the CrossFit games Instagram and see he, uh, Sam. Okay. So here we go from, uh, Alexa Roth, um, Sam dancer hurt himself on pull ups this week and did something to his bicep. So he exacerbated it in the competition. Uh, look at this, what’s the protocol on this. If you wanna use a picture of yourself and your profile, but there’s someone else in it. She she’s. So is, is that what’s the etiquette on that social media etiquette on that I betcha will, will knows. Will, can you tell us what the etiquette is on that? Are you, are you allowed to do that?
crossfitcrash (02:08):
Sounds like a will question.
Sevan Matossian (02:10):
Are you supposed to cut them out completely? What is etiquette on? Do what? Look at this girl’s profile picked, uh, Alexa Roth, like what’s the etiquette on like having some, a friend of yours in the profile pick like that? Did she crop her enough? Did she crop her too much? Is it insulting? What if your friend’s better looking than you and makes you look bad? Should you make sure they’re definitely not in there. I mean, there’s gotta be some
Will (02:32):
In that case, the crop is really good. If the other girl is better looking than her than the crop is a okay.
Sevan Matossian (02:37):
<laugh> just shit on her.
Will (02:38):
If, if she’s not better looking, then definitely should included more of her. But that’s what I would give.
Sevan Matossian (02:44):
All right.
SMTP (02:44):
The half drop is never. Okay. That’s fucked up Alexis.
Sevan Matossian (02:49):
Uh, great coverage, boys loving the coverage best in the biz. Uh, Jeremy sleds and Nick SLS and Nick SLS and Nick, that name would work on Jr too, by the way, Jr. Be alaik number 53 from North Carolina, Jared Lanik whatever the fuck your first name is. I don’t even know what your first name is.
crossfitcrash (03:09):
James James.
Sevan Matossian (03:11):
James. Lanik the only white guy on the team been sitting on the bench for three? No, not only is he white, but he’s a starter. Okay. Um, I
crossfitcrash (03:27):
Did get a lot of that in school.
Sevan Matossian (03:28):
You did? How many years did you play basketball?
crossfitcrash (03:32):
Four,
Sevan Matossian (03:34):
Uh, in college,
crossfitcrash (03:35):
Right? Four in college.
Sevan Matossian (03:37):
Oh, what college
crossfitcrash (03:39):
Anderson university
Sevan Matossian (03:41):
Did you like basketball.
crossfitcrash (03:43):
Oh yeah. Still do still my favorite sport.
Sevan Matossian (03:45):
Yeah. That’s awesome. You play a lot?
crossfitcrash (03:48):
Not anymore.
Sevan Matossian (03:49):
Oh, once a week
crossfitcrash (03:50):
I hung him up. Never.
Sevan Matossian (03:51):
Oh, never.
crossfitcrash (03:56):
If I played tomorrow, I would play three or four days a week starting next week.
Sevan Matossian (04:00):
Wow. Hey Taylor, there, we gotta talk about this some other time. When you have a better connection, there must be a dark story there. He homey’s got some issues around basketball, something happened.
crossfitcrash (04:09):
I’m just, I just have obsessive personality. I’m an, I’m an addict at heart,
Sevan Matossian (04:14):
Uh, PMI services. Um, uh, it was announced during the master’s first event. And dancer said he would make an announcement on his IG.
Sevan Matossian (04:24):
Thank you. PMI premium services. Okay. Uh, is that a typical injury? Do you guys know anyone else with bicep? Tears seems like something arm wrestlers would get? No. Uh, do you remember that year? Um, there were a shitload of bicep tears at the CrossFit games and it was with 155 pound hang clean. That was on a axle bar axle bar. Thank you. And somehow squeezing, holding that axle bar as they popped, did something to the bicep vein in, in, in regards to the relationship to the, uh, grip, uh, wa zombie. I torn mine completely. Oh, that’s like when it curls up into your arm?
crossfitcrash (05:16):
Yeah. The only person I can think of is, um, Rob McDonald, Bobby Maximus,
Sevan Matossian (05:22):
Uh who’s that
crossfitcrash (05:24):
Taylor, you know who that is? He was, he was a Jim Jones guy, one of the main trainers. And then he branched off. He’s got like a, he’s got a bunch of like skier records in, um, Aine. Max,
Sevan Matossian (05:40):
Is he yolked as shit? Is he yo his shit? Yeah. Cause you never see any just regular Joes fucking rip their bicep. And you know what? Maybe it’s because like, I don’t, I don’t ever go hard.
crossfitcrash (05:49):
You a sea fighter.
Sevan Matossian (05:50):
Oh, Bob McDonald. Oh, you know that there’s of the L one trainers. His last name is McDonald.
crossfitcrash (06:01):
Jay, Matt.
Sevan Matossian (06:02):
No, he’s a UFC fighter. He has red hair. I saw him yesterday in some of the footage. He was the guy, the year that Ryan Fisher started getting squirrly. They had him stay with Ryan Fisher, the rest of the event. What the fuck is that guy’s name? I know
crossfitcrash (06:15):
You’re talking about
Sevan Matossian (06:16):
Something. Not Rory McDonald. That’s a real fighter. This guy was a real fighter too, though. Don’t get me wrong. He, he like, like you go watch his UFC fights. Jody Lynn, you are too generous. Thank you. 99 99. My, you could say that I have a mental disorder and that is a, um, donation to a, to a home for mentally disabled adults. If you want, if you wanna get tax credit for it. Uh, the other one and I, and, and I, I wanna dance a little more. Um, no pun intended carefully around. This is Emily Wolf. I don’t know what is true and what’s not true. Uh, yesterday someone was saying she lost a baby. God, I hope that’s not true. God, God, I
SMTP (06:59):
Hope that’s not true. No, she had blood clots in her arteries in her arm, her left arm, she had blood clots and was losing circulation. And by the end of the event, her arm was numb. And so they took her to the, a hospital. They removed the blood clots in her arteries and she’s getting function of her arm back. So she almost lost her arm.
Sevan Matossian (07:20):
He examines my left arm. Uh, he examines my left arm and left hand and it is totally blue and cold to the touch. Although I have some motor function, I have no ulner or radial pulse. After the ultrasound, I was unfortunately medically withdrawn from the competition immediately sent to UW hospital where I went to an emergency vascular surgery to remove two blood clots. Wow. This is weird. You know where my brain goes? Hold on. Where’s my tin foil hat.
crossfitcrash (07:45):
I mean, she could’ve easily thrown those clots and had a PE or something. It would’ve been bad.
Sevan Matossian (07:51):
What’s a PE
crossfitcrash (07:52):
A pulmonary Emli that goes through your lung. Yep.
Sevan Matossian (07:55):
Uh, Caleb, why is a young girl getting blood clots?
Caleb Beaver (08:01):
That’s a wonderful question. Careful. I’ve talked to providers here.
Sevan Matossian (08:06):
Uh, can you someone click on her can click on her link. I would like to just do an examination. Uh, can you go to her profile? I wanna see what country she’s from.
crossfitcrash (08:16):
Careful.
Sevan Matossian (08:17):
Is she from the United States? Did she have to travel? Did she have to travel from another country to come here and meet the prerequisites? Is it when’s the last time she’s been in the United States?
crossfitcrash (08:31):
She did granite games.
Sevan Matossian (08:37):
Oh, radiology. Wow. Fittest CA woman. Is that Canadian woman. Can you scroll down a little bit? Oh, she’s a toast pacer gal, like, um, uh, miss Brandon. Oh no. Sorry. Can you scroll the other way? I wanna just see, I wanna just see, I wanna see if she has keep going, man. She’s a specimen. Hey, she took 15th all fucked up like that. Crazy. She’s a beast. Keep going. I I’ll tell you when I see what I need to see, keep going, keep going, keep going. Let her rip, let her rip keep going. Mm-hmm <affirmative> have the doc has, is that the only post? Has anyone interviewed her? Is she okay? Like she’s, she’s through it.
crossfitcrash (09:38):
That’s awesome assessment by that doctor. I mean, that really like could have saved her life down the road.
Sevan Matossian (09:46):
Which one? The one that spotted at the CrossFit games or the one? Uh,
crossfitcrash (09:49):
Yeah, I mean, noticing that in the assessment and then going ahead and making the call like that, it’s pretty legit.
Sevan Matossian (09:58):
I don’t wanna take anything away from him, but like in that post she says something was wrong. Like she knew, right.
crossfitcrash (10:05):
She said not having a radio on pulse was a, is a big deal.
Sevan Matossian (10:09):
Oh, okay. Okay. I’m going to, uh,
Caleb Beaver (10:12):
Doc rocket is the same guy that reduced Rick Wells’ elbow dislocation too. He’s a good dude. When I was the head medicals, when I worked the head medical team for the Mac and syndicate, he texted me beforehand and like, Hey, if you ever need anything, just let me know. He was like my on call provider. When I worked.
Sevan Matossian (10:30):
Should I, um, get him on here and ask him, uh, how a young lady at her age, um, ends up with a blood clot.
Caleb Beaver (10:38):
You could try pretty unlikely. He talks about it though.
Sevan Matossian (10:43):
I mean, let me see, want, want me to text him? Let’s see. Sure. John, John rocket, um, invite, uh, copy. Uh, want to come on live now and answer some questions about Ms. Wolf. I’ve never interviewed her. I don’t think I’ve ever met her. Uh, uh, oh, uhoh start. Uh, oh, oh no. My Tim foil. Hat’s getting thicker. Okay. Uh, she, and she’s the, we knew she pulled out yesterday. We talked about it, right? That she’s the first one to get pulled out this year. The games, uh, it’s kind of normal. Oh, she’s a nurse. Okay. Radiology. Okay. She’s or maybe a radiologist. Okay. Awesome. All right. Doing their Lord’s work healing people. Uh, I had Adrian Bosman on last night. Did you guys see that?
crossfitcrash (12:02):
Yeah. Watch it this morning.
Sevan Matossian (12:03):
Yeah, kind of crazy. Uh, it, it, there, there was something that you said that you heard Jr. That we need to keep in mind the entire games. I think it was you. Maybe it was Taylor. One of you, smarty pants has said it. Oh, I love the shot. Who’s a great shot of the field. Thank you. Um, yeah. What, what happened? You lost your gimble. Uh, there is a workout that Adrian believes is the workout. That’s like, Hey, whoever wins, this is gonna win the games. Or this is the one that’s most indicative. And it doesn’t matter whether it’s true or not. It’s just fun. You know what I mean? It’s like finding Easter eggs. Um, have we seen that workout yet?
crossfitcrash (12:38):
No.
SMTP (12:39):
No.
Sevan Matossian (12:41):
Uh, and, and I’m including the ones that, that we, that we haven’t performed. Like how about two a and two B? Do you think that’s the one?
crossfitcrash (12:49):
No.
Sevan Matossian (12:50):
Okay. What about the one, um, that, where they carry at the end, you have to carry the HUSA SSA. SSA fell up the stairs.
crossfitcrash (12:59):
I don’t think so.
Sevan Matossian (13:01):
Taylor Taylor going once going twice. Taylor. Taylor, do you think we, yeah. You think it’s a who to fill one? Say that again, Taylor. One more time.
SMTP (13:15):
No, I do not.
Sevan Matossian (13:17):
Okay. Uh, this is a great, this is great. Okay. I hear you. I hear you. I hear you. How, yeah, I hear you mother. The fuck. I hear you. Uh, R C w for four ninety nine, birth control can also create that. That’s very interesting. You say that because my sister, uh, many, many, many years ago was on birth control and a smoker. And she had a hole in her heart that she didn’t know about. And that, and that smoking with the birth control medication, she’s on anyone who takes birth controls. You gotta get off it. You, you should not, women should not be on birth control, find another way. But anyway, uh, um, she got a blood clot. It went through a hole in her heart onto the wrong side. I don’t know if it’s an arterial, is, is the MedU, Alan. God, is that, is that, what is that? An artery up there? The brain stem that’s
crossfitcrash (14:03):
That’s the, uh,
Caleb Beaver (14:05):
That’s in the brain MedU in the
Sevan Matossian (14:07):
Brain. Yeah, it’s it’s the, it’s the brain, the entrance of the brain stem. Anyway, whatever the, the, the clot went through the hole in the heart went, I think on the arterial side, got fucking pumped to the fucking brain and clogged, uh, the blood flow that goes through the MedU Agata. And she had a massive stroke. She’s so lucky. She’s normal-ish nor, I mean, normal. I mean, I can’t tell she had a stroke. She’s my sister’s still weird. Not as weird as me, but, but thank God she lived, uh, spend Vidar wa gave us 219 NLK I will trade those for $3 from, to anyone. Uh, thank you guys for the awesome coverage from Norway. Thank you for sending awesome athletes. That’s where, uh, Oslo’s in Norway, right?
crossfitcrash (14:52):
Yes.
Sevan Matossian (14:53):
That that’s the team, right? That’s the team that’s gonna fucking break Rich’s heart. So we haven’t seen that workout, but every workout that comes up, we should be playing that game. Cuz I think that’s a great game to play.
crossfitcrash (15:12):
What will will Rich’s team lose this workout?
Sevan Matossian (15:17):
Uh, no, no, no, not that game. Which workout is indicative of who the fittest is, is what, what workout is, is gonna show who’s gonna win the CrossFit games this year. So when Justin Maderas wins that workout, we like, yeah, of course. That’s the one. Oh, we don’t even have to guess. We can just, um, we can just wait.
crossfitcrash (15:35):
Yeah. Chase and bill with, uh, Tommy and Sean. They did a show last week where they kind of went through and they ran numbers to see
crossfitcrash (15:46):
What event that was every single year at the games, like what the numbers showed. Like they went in to see which ones and for a lot of them you could kind of guess you could kind of predict it if it was really, um, well rounded. Like if there was a mono structural element, a weightlifting element and a gymnastics element, but then others, like the year they did that football sled push with the rope climbs. Yeah. For some reason that year, that was the best predictor of the top 10 at the games. So sometimes that’s not what you think.
Sevan Matossian (16:11):
Wow. Um, what, what were the elements you said, I just heard you say mono, structural. What were the elements?
crossfitcrash (16:21):
I think a lot of times it’s a workout like first cut from the two from the, from the 2019 games where it’s like a mono structural element. So running, rowing, biking, whatever.
Sevan Matossian (16:34):
Okay.
crossfitcrash (16:34):
With some sort of gymnastics element.
Sevan Matossian (16:38):
Uh, but pullups count. Yeah.
crossfitcrash (16:39):
Usually a higher skill.
Sevan Matossian (16:41):
Okay. Let’s
crossfitcrash (16:41):
Take far muscle up and then some kind of weightlifting movement.
Sevan Matossian (16:45):
Okay. Uh, uh, thrusters.
crossfitcrash (16:49):
Sure. That year it was squat snatch with legless rope climbs and running. Okay. So pretty, pretty high skill Marbel movement and gymnastics movement.
Sevan Matossian (16:57):
Uh, that year. It was what squat, snatch, squat, snatch, legless rope climb,
crossfitcrash (17:01):
Then run. That was 2019.
Sevan Matossian (17:03):
Okay. So basically that one. And, and what about the time domain?
crossfitcrash (17:09):
Uh, the, the time domains were pretty variable. That workout, I believe was a 20 minute cap.
Sevan Matossian (17:17):
The fuck. Does this mean anyone? Caleb? Am I having a weird day?
Caleb Beaver (17:26):
No, no, no, no. You’re good. Everything’s fine. All right.
crossfitcrash (17:36):
Yeah. So I don’t think that workout has come out yet. And I think when it does, you’ll, you’ll be able to tell,
Sevan Matossian (17:41):
Hey, so you’re saying that the one that was at the, um, this one that we’re gonna see tomorrow at the capital, if there were rope climbs in it, that the one we’re just missing rope climbs,
crossfitcrash (17:52):
Not necessarily, I think
Sevan Matossian (17:54):
Run strong, heavy shit. And we just need, uh, a little bit of gymnastics.
crossfitcrash (17:58):
Yeah. I, I think you’re, I think you’re probably, it’s probably not going to be a couplet. I would say either gonna be like a triplet or like a quartet, possibly even a chipper, but I don’t think it’s gonna be a couplet. Um, you know, if we had more of the information, we could probably pick it out. If we had all the workouts, we could probably point to it before we even see them perform it. But I, I don’t think it’s been released yet. I have a feeling it’s probably one of the weekend workouts,
Sevan Matossian (18:24):
Uh, like, uh, Heidi, can you UN, unmute yourself?
Heidi Cam (18:31):
Thank you. Yeah. Can you hear
Sevan Matossian (18:32):
Me? Yeah. Caleb, can you switch Heidi’s um, to, uh, at the fake seven on podcast so people we can, uh, blow up her account. Uh, Heidi, what do you, what do you, uh, is this it? They’re setting up two a and two B
Heidi Cam (18:46):
Look. Yeah, they’re setting it up now. It looks like, can you hear me? Okay.
Sevan Matossian (18:51):
It looks like, yeah, we hear you. Perfect. We hear you. Perfect. Okay.
Heidi Cam (18:55):
All right. Yeah. It looks like some of the equipment as they’re bringing it over is still dripping. I don’t know if you can see that, but
Sevan Matossian (19:02):
No great observation though. I love it. Okay. Um, and, and those clouds, it looks like a beautiful day, like a perfect day. What’s the temp in, in any chance it’s gonna start raining again,
crossfitcrash (19:12):
Dripping not to be confused with soaking Seon.
Sevan Matossian (19:15):
<laugh> thank you.
Heidi Cam (19:16):
Thank you. Um, I would say zero chance of rain. It’s like probably 82 degrees, super hot and humid.
Sevan Matossian (19:27):
And, and you, and you’re not in the media pit. That’s why you can be streaming right now.
Heidi Cam (19:32):
Um, I don’t think anyone’s supposed to be, but no, I’m not in the media pit.
Sevan Matossian (19:36):
Oh, oh. So you, so you’re knowingly breaking the rules. Well said I tried to throw some cover for you, but fuck it. Let’s just throw ourselves in there.
Heidi Cam (19:42):
I have not, uh, confirmed those rules. They were not given to me. So I’m in blissful ignorance right now.
Sevan Matossian (19:50):
Awesome. Um, how many athletes are gonna go at once?
Heidi Cam (19:55):
I’m not sure right now it looks like they’re just setting all the, all the platforms out at once. Um, the platforms look dry, but yeah, I don’t know yet how many people are gonna go at the same time.
Sevan Matossian (20:08):
Um, can you tell how many does it, I mean, just guessing, does it look like the whole field is going by just how many you have out and how they’re spacing them? Do you think it’s gonna be more 40 at a time or 20 at a time or 10 at a time? It looks like it’s gonna be a lot, like at least 10
crossfitcrash (20:20):
Look there’s one platform per, uh, per lane or two platforms per lane.
Heidi Cam (20:26):
It’s it’s uh, hold on a second. It looks like 20, 20 platforms are going out right now.
crossfitcrash (20:32):
So two heats. Yeah.
Sevan Matossian (20:34):
Hey Heidi. It, it looks like someone’s gonna have a shorter run. How are a shuttle run? How are they gonna mitigate that on the other side? You know what I mean? Like those ones, those platforms on the left there look like someone’s gonna have a shorter run by like 10 feet.
Heidi Cam (20:47):
Right. Um, I’m I think the start line is gonna be over here where the, um, little numbers are. I don’t know if you can see that for my thing, but the finish line, I think, and the starting line for the run is gonna be at the same, at the same location. Okay. Like, that’ll be starting on the same line.
Sevan Matossian (21:06):
All right. Okay. Thank you very much. Uh, we’ll check back with you. Sure. Uh, with you in just a minute. Um, uh, okay. Thank you, Jr. Yesterday I asked, um, Adrian about the minimum work requirement on this workout and, and you know, and he got, you know, Adrian hostile with me. You know what I mean? And I, I don’t mean that as in a negative way at all. Ah, I think two heats, Mr. MES, Mr. Mertons. Um, and, and, and he spoke about like the spirit, right? It, it was some gangster shit. He spoke about the spirit, like, Hey, people know that they’re supposed to work, um, hard, right?
crossfitcrash (21:44):
Yeah. Like if, like, if you make it this far, you
Sevan Matossian (21:48):
Give me one second. What the fuck is going on here? He what’s this guy Suza what’s going on here? What do you get that better? Be for gifts. For me,
Mattew Souza (21:56):
That is for you. I got you some to faces. These are the, to spacers. Are you here? And they, uh, thank you for all the shouts on the show. And now we have em, I will hand deliver them
Sevan Matossian (22:05):
To you. I’m gonna wear the shit out of those, these to
Mattew Souza (22:07):
Hopper at checkout, everybody go get to use code hopper at checkout.
Sevan Matossian (22:11):
I’m gonna, I’m gonna adapt them to keep my, my testicles away from my penis. It’s I’m just gonna kind of adapt it, but thank you.
Mattew Souza (22:18):
That’s good. That’s their second product that came out. I got that for you too. You’re
Sevan Matossian (22:21):
Good. What wait, you got, uh, what’s the other one to spacers and what else did I get?
Mattew Souza (22:27):
And then you got the ball in Dick spacers.
Sevan Matossian (22:29):
Oh, thank you. Good, good. Thank you’re. Good, dude. Um, uh, what do you think about that? Like, he’s just like, fuck you. Like, people just need there. We don’t do a minimum, like get out there and work. We just expect it from you. Even if there is no penalty, but I’m thinking to myself, screw that I need to win the 300 G.
crossfitcrash (22:46):
Yeah. It’s like, you just want you to respect the game.
Sevan Matossian (22:50):
Uh, I, I, but, but, and then I tried to draw a comparison, a direct comparison to what we talked about yesterday about, Hey, they put a time, a time limit, kind of does the same thing a time. Limit’s just not so that we can move on to the next workout, but to enforce a certain urgency. And doesn’t that do that? Isn’t that the same thing with, um, doing the minimum work requirement, at least in the way you describe it to me for this next workout. J uh, can you pull up the next workout? Um, guys, this is a really neat workout for those of you guys who don’t know it’s a shuttle run. And then with the time remaining, you have left, you have to do max jerks at some crazy heavyweight three rounds. And each time the run gets a little bit longer. So, so are you, are you buying what Adrian said there? Do you agree with him? I, I don’t. I don’t agree with him.
crossfitcrash (23:35):
Yeah. I just don’t think he likes that mindset for someone to try to look from out to where they don’t have to. They don’t have to put out effort and still get rewarded for it.
Sevan Matossian (23:44):
Holy shit. Could what, why is Hiller wearing his, like his, his shorts that he used to wear in the eighth grade? Those shorts don’t fit him anymore. Those are way too small, way too small. Oh, what do, what do you think about it? You like that? I mean, I like his attitude. I like the fact that he’s saying, yeah, it’s for the spirit of it, it’s it people know better, but, but is that a reason not to do it? I mean, there’s 300 grand on the line. We’re crowning the fittest.
crossfitcrash (24:10):
I mean, there are definitely people that are gonna go into the workout, knowing that they probably can’t perform equally as well on both. So they’re gonna strategize whatever, however, they know how to, to maximize their points, whether that comes out as looking like they’re dogging the run, or they’re not trying to do many, you know, uh, very many jerks they’re, you know, they’re gonna do what they gotta do for points. Right.
Sevan Matossian (24:34):
So you’re okay with it. Yeah.
crossfitcrash (24:35):
You’re okay. I, I think it’s dumb to just sit there and continue to fail reps, just, just for the sake of feeling like you have to that’s so,
Sevan Matossian (24:43):
But so, but you’re okay with a no minimum work, no minimum work require requirement, even though we did the math and a first and a last is equivalent to like somewhere between two 17th and two 20th.
crossfitcrash (24:55):
Yeah. It’s only two points less than if you got 17 on both, which is still top half.
Sevan Matossian (25:04):
Are you excited for this? I’m pretty pumped.
crossfitcrash (25:05):
Yeah. I think it’s gonna be really fun to watch. I’m I’m really interested to see what starts happening after the eight and the six, 600. Because at that point they’re approaching almost a mile of running to see what that last interval’s like,
Will (25:17):
Just got a DM that said Sean Woodland relayed information that Boz said, this was what he thought would be the indicator of the podium. The combination of these two split events is what he thinks will be indicator.
Sevan Matossian (25:30):
Wow.
crossfitcrash (25:30):
That’s pretty cool.
Sevan Matossian (25:32):
Wow.
crossfitcrash (25:33):
And I guess I can kind of see that now because you have raw capacity in the form of running and then the ability to lift heavy under fatigue. So if you’re looking at how they athletes score on both as the determining factor, like if someone gets two thirds or if someone wins both of them, which if you don’t think Tia’s going out to win both of these, you’re crazy because she’s absolutely gonna try to win both. And oh shit. I would say there’s probably less than five people in either field that truly believe they can try to win both.
Sevan Matossian (26:13):
And we’re gonna come back to that one second. That’s awesome. What a Savage? Well, we’re gonna name the others. This is the guy. If you guys are at the CrossFit games and you see this guy yell at him, be like Jason, what’s up. You wanna fight. See what happens to you? This dude’s so fucking cool. Another flow master L one staff, Jason McDonald. I might begin his black belt here, former UFC fighter. Uh, this is 37 weeks ago. Problem. Thankful if you know, you know, it can’t be hard for people who don’t do martial arts to understand the big deal. Oh, it can hard crazy. Yesterday, 20 plus years of work was recognized. Yeah, this dude’s so fucking cool. What a great dude. Oh, another overachiever overachiever, super stud on the flow. One step. These are the people out there that are the judges. I’ll take a guy. Who’s a fucking black belt in jujitsu who spent 20 years, even if he had no fucking knowledge of CrossFit to judge it’s enough credentials for me. Um, who are the, who are the others? Who else do you think goes for both?
crossfitcrash (27:25):
I think or
Sevan Matossian (27:26):
HVAT uh,
crossfitcrash (27:27):
Yeah, Laura, Laura probably thinks she can, she can push it to win both. I would say G probably thinks he can win both. Ah, okay. I would say Justin probably is really confident about both. Cause what you have to look at is not just strength. You have to look at strength, overhead, which is usually not the same thing and doesn’t translate like lower extremity strength. So when you look at someone like the people who perform the best on the complex, because the jerk for a lot of people was the limiting factor in the barbell complex and semifinals. It wa usually wasn’t the clean and it wasn’t the front squat. Right? Right. So it was jerking under fatigue. And in a way, this is continuing to test that as kind of a theme of the season, right. You had to do a jerk under heavy load fatigue. And then in the last chance qualifier, you had to do the 55 cleaning jerks at 2 25 with the shuttle runs. And this is again, very similar to that, to that theme of run hard or exhaust your legs go heavy overhead when you’re tired.
Sevan Matossian (28:32):
Uh, what about Tudor Magna?
crossfitcrash (28:34):
Um, I’m not sure that I’m not sure how fast of a runner he is. Um, you’re gonna have to be really fast and deliberately fast to, you know, to win the shuttle.
Sevan Matossian (28:44):
Okay. Uh, I’m gonna, I’m gonna, I’m gonna go through the list of athletes here very, very quickly in just a minute. I wanna check in with, uh, uh, I wanna check in with Heidi one more time, Heidi. How are you? You’re muted.
Heidi Cam (29:01):
Good.
Sevan Matossian (29:02):
How are you? Uh, any new, um, anything new? It looks like they’re getting close. It looks like the women are going first. I see Moran’s name out there. Anything else to report? Mm-hmm <affirmative>
Heidi Cam (29:12):
Uh, no, not at this time.
Sevan Matossian (29:15):
Okay. Sorry. Thank you. Uh, no problem. Uh, SU you got anything else that you’re seeing out there? I noticed you’re uh, right by the V uh, rogue rogue tent. VIP booth.
Mattew Souza (29:26):
Yeah. This is the, uh, VIP booth here. Just saying what S deputy coming to a lot of people saying hi to you as they went by. I dunno if you guys see it there. Yeah. Tons of them. Lot to see each shows through about, Hey, he’s watching it.
Sevan Matossian (29:37):
Oh, awesome. Oh, look, that girl had the Danielle Brandon hair. You see that?
Mattew Souza (29:45):
Yeah. Did you, did you see me ran into, uh, Danielle Brandon’s group of friends? They all had their, uh, DBE shirts on and said hi to as well.
Sevan Matossian (29:53):
I’d missed it. That’s
Mattew Souza (29:54):
It.
Sevan Matossian (29:58):
What’s up, baby. Good to see you.
