Sevan Matossian (00:01):
Bam. We’re live, fueled up. S M TP. We have no news for you. We just came. So you could stare at us.
Sevan Matossian (00:15):
So ITOs. Hi. Oh shit. There’s oh, uh, there’s too many Taylor cells. We will, you kick out one of the Taylor cells.
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (00:26):
Sevan Matossian (00:26):
Of em, there’s two Taylors. You have to log off on one of ’em other than one rich phoning and one Angela. Holy shit. Did you guys get, I heard you guys got arrested. Did you guys get arrested?
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (00:37):
Sevan Matossian (00:38):
Yeah. Are you in a holding cell? Did the rumors are morning. Chocolate reported. You guys got arrested for shorting laps on the race for shorting laps. You guys only did four and you guys got arrested.
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (00:50):
We were definitely shorting laps. That’s why they kicked us out. And now we’re incarcerated.
Sevan Matossian (00:55):
Oh, where are, where are you? Two gentlemen.
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (01:00):
We’re sitting at north park warmup area.
Sevan Matossian (01:05):
Could you, um, it’s being held up. It’s super choppy. So we couldn’t see that. Could you hold it just like slow. So like just hold it steady and we could see like what’s in front of you. What your view is like a
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (01:18):
I think we have really bad connection, but here I’ll give you what I got.
Sevan Matossian (01:23):
Hmm. Angie and Dick Vander, SLT, uh, uh, rich. Are you, so how long are you guys gonna be there? It’s um, what time is it there right now? It’s uh, 2 41. We tried.
Sevan Matossian (01:41):
Guys. That was nice.
Sevan Matossian (01:43):
Um, this is the, the, this is some of the Intel I have that the first team heat did go and the second team heat got lined up and they did not go. And that was the team that, uh, Ry CIC, uh, with, uh, Ms. Annie and Mr. Kahn to Lauren Fisher. And then of course, uh, the great mayhem empire team with, uh, rich phoning Taylor, Andrea LER, and someway.
Sevan Matossian (02:17):
And it looks like they were told that they will be going and in 18 minutes and maybe Matt Suzu or someone can log in who’s there and tell us if they can confirm that. Um, have you, and, and I also heard that, uh, okay, here we go. Brandon, Brandon Waddell, uh, waddle, uh, teams to resume at 3:00 PM. I also heard that event two, a and two B have been pushed to tomorrow and that there will be no rest day at the 2022 CrossFit games for the individual athletes. Any thoughts on that? Taylor, Caleb, have you guys heard the,
A according to Caleb’s picture?
Sevan Matossian (02:53):
Okay, Caleb, you, you saw that on Instagram, Caleb.
Yeah, I did. I’m pulling it up
Sevan Matossian (02:58):
Now. Okay. And someone, um, and, and whose account is that?
Aunt Haynes? He’s a, he’s an athlete out of China. Ah he’s
Caleb Beaver (03:09):
Is he team this year? Because he is not individual?
No, I think he is, well, I think he might be, is team. I can’t remember.
Sevan Matossian (03:19):
Where do you get that at? Where, what board is that?
So just maybe it’s something in the athlete area or something. Hmm.
Caleb Beaver (03:28):
That doesn’t look like it in the athlete area.
It looks like we’re kind of where rich was.
Sevan Matossian (03:35):
Okay. With the, okay.
Caleb Beaver (03:37):
That seems be behind the scenes.
Sevan Matossian (03:40):
It’s also, I wonder if that’s in a, a sneak pick of that’s, you know, in, in the war room somewhere that should not have been shared.
Caleb Beaver (03:50):
That’s what I was thinking that looks like it’s something from behind the scenes, but what do I know?
Sevan Matossian (03:53):
Yeah. That makes me, uh, a little unsettled, but it validates it, it validates it, um, seems like the kind of thing that could get me kicked out of the games. Good thing. I’m at home. Uh, last I heard from, um, let’s see. Maybe I can send, uh, oh shit. My mouth stop working. How the fuck did my mouth stop working at? Let me see if I can get a, um, a text over to con Porter. I think he is in the same holding room that rich phoning is. And also Caleb, can you shoot, uh, Suza a text and see if we can get him on the air? Um, does that, does that change anything significantly? Uh, Taylor, if they move the workout to tomorrow,
Caleb Beaver (04:37):
I think that’s a better move than trying to do strict press in the rain, for sure.
Sevan Matossian (04:40):
Okay. Okay. And, and that would be the choice. And what about, what about, and, and, and then to cut out the shuttle run altogether?
Caleb Beaver (04:47):
Yeah, I, I think moving it to Thursday is for sure the best decision
Sevan Matossian (04:51):
It’s also on Tim Paulson’s story. Okay. Thank you. Victor CI CI CI NATO. It’s also on Tim Paulson’s story. Look at that. You’ve given us great Intel, but I only see it once you give us a dollar 99, cuz your shit turns blue. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I feel horrible for that actually. Uh, second time with mouse, not working someone by seven on new mouse. It is a new mouse. That’s the thing. I don’t get it. I don’t get it, but good thing. I have a plugged in one. Um, I’m going to see if Mr. Porter wants to come on. Oh, my wife just told me we went over 17,000 subscribers. That’s cool. Thank you.
It’s smart. I think we have remember after the games hill,
Sevan Matossian (05:36):
Say that again, Caleb.
I think we have more than Hiller now,
Sevan Matossian (05:39):
I think so.
Sevan Matossian (05:43):
We have one, uh, scored event that from, from the men and women today in the individual competition to crown the fittest person on the planet, um, we are still, don’t have a leaderboard, a cap will pull it up and show us in just a second, but we still don’t have a, that is functioning due to the fact that some of the athletes came in early and, uh, and, and the chips weren’t prepared for that. So the shit’s, uh, reporting, uh, inaccurately that being said, the second workout was then, um, pushed to tomorrow, which was supposed to be a rest day. And, uh, that’s workout two a and two B. And so that’s three scored events, 100 for the bike to work. And then two a and two B we’re also gonna be 100 and 100. Those have been pushed to tomorrow. What we do believe we have remaining is there will be an, an announcement very shortly that gives us two more workouts that are supposed to happen this evening.
Sevan Matossian (06:39):
So there will be a total of 500 points that were supposed to be allocated today. It will end up only being 300 points and 200, uh, tomorrow. And, uh, to Taylor gives a really good observation. He thinks it’s better that they, uh, postpone the workout and do it, uh, accurately as opposed to, um, move, uh, as opposed to changing it so they could get it done today. What’s up Tyler? How are you, Tyler? Are you hearing that the, the CrossFit games are about to resume in, in 13 minutes, we’re hearing at three o’clock the, uh, the teams will take the floor. It’ll be rich frowning versus RAIC in their first event to the 2022 CrossFit games. Is that what you hear? Second here,
Tyler of the team starts at three from what? Okay. Yeah, that’s what I’ve been hearing.
Sevan Matossian (07:25):
And when you look out that
Of they’re gonna get rid of two, a and two B today, push it to Thursday and that’s the rumor anyway.
Sevan Matossian (07:36):
And, and, and when you look out the window, does it look like they can start the event in 13 minutes, 12 minutes? Or is it still raining?
Sevan Matossian (07:45):
So you think that they’ll probably get pushed again?
Uh, I mean, so I mean three o’clock’s in an hour, in 15 minutes.
Sevan Matossian (07:56):
Okay. Uh, three o’clock in, in, yeah. In 12 minutes
Caleb Beaver (08:01):
There they’re I think they’re pushing, I think, yeah. They’re pushing to 3:00 PM central, not Eastern.
Sevan Matossian (08:05):
Oh, okay. Oh, thank for doing central. Okay. Thank you for doing the math. I’m multitasking. Yeah. Okay.
Sevan Matossian (08:13):
No, no, it’s not your fault. It’s my fault. And J and, um, and, and I’m getting another, uh, notification from one of the coaches of one of the athletes and he said it is confirmed that, uh, two a and two B have been pushed to tomorrow. Okay. So there’s nothing going on. Is, is there anyone else going on before the second heat of these teams or is that the it’s it’s off until then?
It’s off until then.
Sevan Matossian (08:40):
Let me see. Sorry. I’m, I’m looking at all this information as it’s coming in, uh, a master’s athlete reached out me and told me last year that the similar, uh, thing happened and at the CrossFit games where some masters cut a run short and it was put on the athletes and that they are briefed, that they’re responsible for the number of laps that they did. It does seem like it’s the best way to do it. Um, but there is that one component. What happens if a judge tells you otherwise? And, uh, it’d be cool to, you know, maybe not bug Adrian about that this week, but afterwards next week, get a post games interview with him to find out, right?
What, I’ve sorry, go ahead. We
Caleb Beaver (09:35):
Heard what new Todd.
Yeah. From what I’m I’ve accumulated, there were no judges monitoring the roundabout situation. So every lap there, there were no judges for that. Um, this is all conjecture, but this is what I’ve heard from several people at this point. So it was on the athletes. It was an honor system thing. Um, which is terrible.
Caleb Beaver (09:56):
Sevan Matossian (09:57):
You can’t do that because then maybe someone did cut. So there are, there’s probably there, there, I’m guessing if I was a betting man, I would guess that someone only did four laps and doesn’t know it.
Caleb Beaver (10:06):
Well, I, I also thought it looked like there was someone directing Spencer and Laar into the field of play. Um, but I
Sevan Matossian (10:14):
That’s what the claim is also.
Caleb Beaver (10:16):
It, it looked like that, but there were for sure, over five men who did not do five laps in that second, in that second loop pro probably closer to 10,
This is like the same issue we have in the open. When we use like the honor system, like, okay, I’m only gonna film a couple of my workouts. I’m gonna post ’em. And if they ask, or I’m not gonna post ’em and if they ask for ’em, I’ll send them in and people just skirt through and get through quarter finals, same thing, online qualifiers. And you can’t trust athletes
Caleb Beaver (10:47):
<laugh> yeah. You, you can’t trust athletes. It’s tough because at this level you want to say, you guys are the top 40 men and women in the world. You are professionals. Um, but
Sevan Matossian (10:58):
At the same, but just so you know, we don’t know that for, we don’t know that for certain, when we say the honor system, that’s us being, um, that that’s our, that’s our choice of words. I don’t think the CrossFit games gave out a report being like, okay guys, this is on the honor system.
Absolutely. And like, maybe there was like, like you said, there’s, there’s definitely somebody out there directing them. Maybe there was more to it than I know. But the talk, the talk around town right here at, you know, at campus, Madison is, um, that there were, there was no one out there.
Sevan Matossian (11:28):
Um, do you, do you remember, what do you remember what happened in Dubai and Dubai? The whole field of women went the wrong way. Yeah. Do you remember that? And they cut the race short by, by they cut the most grueling part of the race out at the top of the ski slope. Right. And so they was supposed to be like a two mile run, let’s say, and they only ran a mile or supposed to be 800. They only ran 400 and they didn’t run the, the difficult part of the top. But I, I guess there, it didn’t matter because then it was just a distinction between the men, the men and the women. It was a different competition for them. But in that one, no one was penalized. Right. Everyone just did the same thing. Right. I wonder how they would’ve handled that. If everyone would’ve come in and laps, why didn’t that happen? Why didn’t everyone just follow in Spencer? And LAER,
That’s, that’s what, I
Sevan Matossian (12:11):
Guess people are accounting.
They wouldn’t have been in first. So you would’ve had guys out in front of them and then continuing to go and then say you’re behind them, but you watch someone else who was in front of them continue to go. You’re like, uh, I don’t know, but I’m definitely gonna do whatever Justin’s doing. Right. I’m not gonna go with Spencer and Lizer no offense, Spencer and Lizer
Sevan Matossian (12:33):
Caleb Beaver (12:33):
Uh, I don’t know. I mean, if they got directed in no offense, if they didn’t get directed in offense.
Yeah. And that, but at the end of the day, it still comes down to on them.
Caleb Beaver (12:45):
It is, you have to count and, and James towns and put it nicely, uh, a little earlier, they did five laps, the first round and the second round, you just don’t figure it out. It’s fucked up
Sevan Matossian (12:57):
Comp Porter. Oh, he, this is gonna be tough, huh?
Caleb Beaver (13:01):
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (13:02):
Tough. Where in?
Sevan Matossian (13:06):
Uh, so, so, so you’re just in a holy powder for another, uh, 67 minutes.
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (13:12):
Yeah, man, we here, the whole crews are kicking about,
It’s like a Fairday cage. I think
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (13:22):
They just updated us and said that we might be going walking from here at three.
Sevan Matossian (13:27):
Okay. Uh, what’s it smell like in there is it, is, it are the conditions pretty stinky, sweaty? Can’t hear us. I
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (13:36):
Can’t, you guys are breaking of how these wifi is in here.
Sevan Matossian (13:40):
We, we, we we’ve overextended the wifi it’s cuz everyone, every Tom Dick and Harry is on their phone instead of watching, um, K uh, ride his bike with his shirt off, he heard that party smiled. Hey, um,
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (13:56):
You’ll still ride my bicycle. You’ll still get to ride. Watch me ride my bicycle.
Sevan Matossian (14:00):
Awesome. Uh, what, what’s the mood there of the RAIC team?
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (14:08):
Sevan Matossian (14:08):
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (14:08):
I was walking around before kind of suggesting to a few teams that maybe we do a team talent show while we wait and everyone maybe nominate one to two members, singing dance, put on a little show, but it’s kind of mixed reviews, mixed, mixed receiving of that. But ah, yeah, look, I think everyone’s just kind of wants to get out and do that the first event and then you walk out there or fired up and now we just sitting around,
Sevan Matossian (14:35):
Um, will any of your events be cut today or were you, how many events were you guys supposed to do today? Impossible.
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (14:44):
Oh, I’m Connie shit.
Sevan Matossian (14:46):
Hey K. I’m gonna bug you tonight. There’s just too many
Angie n Dick n Vanderslut (14:49):
Sevan Matossian (14:51):
Okay. We’ll bug you tonight, brother. Thank you. Thank you. Trying. We could do,
We could do a live. Um, like if you could divert ’em to me, like my signal’s pretty decent here. They, I could just set ’em up and they could sit here where I could go to them. But anyway,
Sevan Matossian (15:07):
I think, I think that, yeah, I don’t want to, um, he said, bro, I couldn’t hear a word. Um, I, yeah, he’s probably, he’s probably pretty happy with his team and, and uh, chilling there and it was kind of, I knew it was gonna end up that way cuz right. Cuz he’s sitting 20 feet away from rich probably. Right.
Sevan Matossian (15:23):
So I’m like, okay, didn’t work with rich. Let’s try con maybe con has a better phone
Just as long as rich is in,
Sevan Matossian (15:30):
Right? Yeah. Right. Can you go sit with rich now? Khan your phones work. Just pass your phone over to rich. Uh, how many, how many events do we know? How many events um, the, the teams were supposed to do today? Are they gonna have a, uh, were they, were they competing tomorrow anyway or has, have they been brought, uh, have they lost their rest day also?
I’m not sure. I’m bar. I’m barely aware of what the teams are doing.
I’m looking at right
Sevan Matossian (15:53):
Now, con uh, long story short, lots of pit people, uh, fit people laying around eating oats and pre-workout
Caleb Beaver (16:01):
Teams were not supposed to compete tomorrow. So if they do have an event pushed or tomorrow, then they will also be missing a rest day.
Sevan Matossian (16:08):
Okay. Oh beautiful. Okay. Uh,
Caleb Beaver (16:12):
But I don’t think that they, oh, they do have an event pushed till tomorrow or they just postponed right now.
Just, they’re just postponed until 3:00 PM their time and then potentially we’ll see what they can do for the rest of it. Cause they didn’t even finish the first event for both eats.
Sevan Matossian (16:28):
It. Hey, it’s gonna get pushed to tomorrow because look at that their second event theoretically has already is supposed to start in, uh, 34 minutes and they haven’t even finished their first event yet, right?
Caleb Beaver (16:40):
Yeah. That’s probably looks like what’s gonna happen.
Sevan Matossian (16:44):
And have they, do they, have they told us what the team’s uh, second event is in that two 30 to three 30 spot.
Caleb Beaver (16:52):
I don’t know it.
I don’t know it
Caleb Beaver (16:55):
Either Mike or
Bob I’m being terrible.
Yeah. I don’t think that they announced that one.
Sevan Matossian (17:03):
We’ve completely, we’ve completely neglected the teams. Okay. Let’s let’s go over to the, uh, women’s leader board. I’m gonna guess they’re gonna fix the women’s leader board first because there’s fewer errors over there. It was only Danielle, Brandon that we know about. Has anyone heard of anyone else who may have shorted?
Caleb Beaver (17:19):
Just Danielle and Halpin said that Chad Schroeder mentioned they had fixed the scoring table, but I didn’t see it populated on the website.
Sevan Matossian (17:28):
Okay. Um, and
Caleb Beaver (17:29):
It doesn’t look like it’s populated yet.
Sevan Matossian (17:31):
So let’s see where she’ll place. Let’s say they do give her a five minute penalty. Let’s see where she would go scroll down to where you see close to
Caleb Beaver (17:38):
Last. It’d be 44 minutes.
Sevan Matossian (17:40):
Yeah. Let’s see what we get where we get her. Uh, so that would be
Caleb Beaver (17:47):
Sevan Matossian (17:49):
34. Okay. All right. That’s not good for her. No, let’s see if we can get Matt Susie in here. SU what’s up buddy? Oh, you’re out in front of the venue.
Um, Hey let dude, I broke Bria. I literally had to sneak out a side door and a, around through a, uh, fence to get out of that building.
Sevan Matossian (18:08):
And then when I got, what building were you in? What building were you in?
That’s a big building. That’s that’s a outer
We doing spectators.
Why aren’t you here?
Sevan Matossian (18:19):
Hold on. Hold on one second, Susan. Mr. O’Keeffe look at you. Look at you. O Keith, sorry, Susan. Hold, hang tight. We’re gonna get with you one second, boy. This is, you’re never gonna forget 2022 at the CrossFit games.
Sevan Matossian (18:39):
Yeah. Are you,
Oh, I don’t know. We’ll see.
Sevan Matossian (18:45):
Um, how’s it going? How’s it going? OK. Keith, weren’t you out there counting laps for your athletes?
I wa I mean, I wasn’t, it was hard. I mean, it was hard to do anything, but watch from afar. So yeah. Um, the, there were, I mean, I saw that I saw that some spectators were along the backside of that road, but um, yeah, I was standing with Matt up in the stands. So we’re just kind of observing everything’s possible. I’m sure it was like, it’s funny. We were just talking about how hard it would be as a, as an athlete to count. Cuz we are even at times like what lap is, what lap Ishi on. Like we, it’s not, it’s not that, I mean, I’m sure in the moment it’s hard.
Caleb Beaver (19:28):
What, what would you assess a penalty if you were running the event for someone who skipped a lot?
Um, that’s a tough one. I mean, I think that it, I think even a average lap would be a decent penalty, honestly, just because I, I, you know, I think it could make a fair assumption that people are gonna have their, I, I would assume their, your last laps gonna be aggressive. Um, so it’s prob you know, it’s a tough one, you know, I don’t know, like I have no idea what happened if like people were waved in and like kind of how all that stuff went in, but it’s tough
Sevan Matossian (20:08):
As were you at the athlete briefing? Okie. Were you have to athlete
Briefing? No, no, no, no. So this is what we told.
Sevan Matossian (20:15):
We were told that the athletes, we were told that the athletes were, um, told that they’re in charge of counting, counting. We were also told that two of the athletes were wad in. We also saw video footage of lizard GI try to go back onto the course and told no, come back onto the course mm-hmm <affirmative>. Um, and so that’s kind of where we’re sitting. Um, but here’s the part we’re really curious about. Does anyone know like, like, were they Chi did the chip count lapse? Is there a camera where someone’s like counting? How many times did Danielle pass here? Like how many, like maybe there’s a, there’s a bunch, bunch of athletes in the middle who only did four and they don’t even know it.
My, my thing would be, if you were told and briefed that way, that you were supposed to count, then you, you know, you’ve gotta figure a way out to count like that, that, to me, it seems, seems at that point, you know, it’s hard, you know, it’s, you know, I’ve been on their side of it and, um, I respect the predicament that they’re in with this. Um, it’s hard and, you know, um, you’ve gotta, you know, take all the information you have and make a fair assessment of it. And if that’s the way it was briefed, um, you know, I think you would be on the coaching side, very aware of that and make sure that people were kind of, you know, and find ways to do that. Whether that’s through putting something on their, you know, hand to try to figure out how to count elastic band, like there’s a lot of ways you can go about. But anyway, I mean, at this point, if that’s the way it was briefed, then, you know, at that point they knew going in that they needed to count. Um, you know, that that’s fair that there are SU penalty.
Sevan Matossian (21:48):
Awesome. Uh, I, I, I, I think I agree with you, there’re a hundred percent, Hey, you must be stoked about ma O’Brien. She did great.
She did. She’s so awesome. Yeah, she, that was, that was really executed well, and, um, great, great start honestly. Um, yeah, she, she looks great. Could couldn’t have asked for a better start for us say she did really well. Um, I think they all kind of were surprised at how hard the bike got, you know, or like, you know, how they felt they came in for the Chesta bar, you know? Um, I mean, you knew it was gonna be hard, but it’s, um, I think they were all a little surprised on how they felt when they came in for those chest bars,
Sevan Matossian (22:29):
Uh, Tia, absolute Savage.
She is isn’t she? She is she’s, uh, man, she’s incredible.
Sevan Matossian (22:36):
She is, pullups looked effortless.
I thought that was amazing to watch her watch mal you know, some of, some of those girls come in and just like, you know, blast 40 or 50 on the first set. It’s like, what? Like that is bananas. Honestly, they look, yeah. I mean, Tia smashed that part of it just executed perfectly.
Sevan Matossian (22:58):
I think they’ve started announcing, um, what changes are happening on the YouTube station. And it looks like here we go, uh, heat two of team event, one biker, Bob will take the field around 3:00 PM. So that’s in, uh, 57 minutes, uh, individual event two that’s the one that, uh, has been postponed and team events two and three will now take place tomorrow following the opening ceremony. So tomorrow’s no longer a rest day. Uh, tomorrow is now a competition day. Um, today’s Coliseum events, uh, individual events three and four will take place as plan. Um, this isn’t a big deal to the athletes. Is it O Keith, like they’re fucking unknown unknowable rest day, not rest day. They’ll just get at it tomorrow. Don’t you think?
Absolutely. A hundred percent you invest in, in chaos when you are in an event anyway. And, and, uh, especially in our event and these guys are handling it. Great. Honestly, like I, I think that as a, you know, for spectators that are watching our people that are here, um, you know, there’s, there’s a lot of moving pieces that go into this. Um, you know, and it’s hard to prepare for whether, um, I know because I do, I dealt with an outdoor event. Um, there you do the right thing. Like you, you have to try to get as much as you possibly can and then assess if you adjust workouts or if you have the time you move them, honestly, that this is being handled really well.
Sevan Matossian (24:22):
Did that happen every year at waap pollution? Cause I know last year the, the massive storm came in, is that just that’s the way Florida is. Yeah,
It is it, you know, that time of year you have a better chance than there’s like almost a guaranteed thunder shower every day, starting in like March on. Um, so yeah, it, but we had been a little unlucky the last few years that, that I was there that, you know, there was always a weather event, but you know, what you just like think of people’s safety. Um, and you, you know, make the best decision possible to, you know, get as much of it as you can in, um, you know, and communicate where you can, you know, um, to, to get input from people, either you trust or, you know, in that, that case, it’s easier to ask the athletes things because it’s not as important. Um, you know, from a, you know, season perspective to say like, Hey, what do you guys think? Um, these guys are doing a good job, honestly. I mean, they’re, they’re, they’re making good decisions and, you know, moving to tomorrow’s best decision, honestly, rather than have ’em here super late or sitting around all day, not knowing what’s going on. That that’s a really good call.
Sevan Matossian (25:22):
I agree. Uh, we’ve heard so many solutions. I think this is my favorite one. They just had to put the odometers on the bicycle so the athletes can see the distance observable, repeatable, measurable. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The distance. Uh <laugh>. They just, that would’ve been awesome. Odometers.
They just announced individual event three
Sevan Matossian (25:46):
On the Facebook. Oh, Keith, thanks for coming on, brother.
Hey, good to see you guys keep crushing it. Yeah, I’ll give it back to the boy
Sevan Matossian (25:51):
Over here. Okay. Have a good one. Thank you. Yeah,
You too. Thanks.
Sevan Matossian (25:56):
Uh, individual event, number three. Thank you. Caleb has been announced. It’s three rounds of races through pegboards jump ropes, pistols and Stan walks. I’ll repeat it again. Three rounds. Pegboards jump ropes, pistols and handstand walks. Mm.
But Sev on it says singlelike squats, not pistols.
Sevan Matossian (26:19):
Ah, right, right, right. Oh shit. Isn’t that interesting in the description they have pistols and in the, uh, actual workout they have, uh, single eight slots. Hey, so, so it says quarter final round semi-final round final round. Meaning not all the athletes continue.
Look at the doubles in the last round, double under
Caleb Beaver (26:42):
Crossovers. So it goes single unders unbroken, double unders double under crossovers.
What even is that?
Sevan Matossian (26:53):
I know what a crossover is. What a
Caleb Beaver (26:55):
Let’s let’s pull up a double under crossover. Search it on YouTube. We’ve got three jump rope variations.
Sevan Matossian (27:01):
Go. What did that mean? Uh, what did that mean? Three, three out of two. Pegboards what did that mean?
Caleb Beaver (27:06):
Oh, it it’s saying for the men. That’s three reps for the women. Two reps.
Sevan Matossian (27:10):
Okay. Thank you. Yeah. Okay. Ladies and gentlemen, here it is debuting. Almost the advanced jump rope tutorial. Double unders crossovers.
Caleb Beaver (27:23):
Wow. Why not? Just a triple under call me crazy.
Sevan Matossian (27:31):
Wow. Okay. Let’s go back to look at the workout. Very impressive. Do you think anyone’s been preparing for that?
Caleb Beaver (27:40):
Mm, I don’t think athletes are practicing that. No.
Sevan Matossian (27:43):
Have you ever practiced that?
Caleb Beaver (27:44):
Seen that? I’ve never, I’ve never tried to double under crossover. I have.
Sevan Matossian (27:48):
Have you ever tried to crossover period?
Caleb Beaver (27:50):
Yeah. Yeah. I’ve done crossovers a lot. Yeah. Um, wrestling. I, when I used to wrestle, we used to just jump rope for like 45 minutes straight.
Sevan Matossian (27:57):
Okay. So the men will climb the pegboard three times. They’ll do 75 unbroken, single unders 10 unbroken, uh, pistols with their left leg, 10 unbroken pistols with their right leg. Hey, does that mean they alternate or you have to do ’em 10 in a row and then switch.
Caleb Beaver (28:11):
You do 10 on the, you do 10 on the left and then you advance. I wanna assume 10 on the
Sevan Matossian (28:15):
Right. Okay. And then you handstand walk a course. I’m guessing at that point, I’m guessing at that point, um, they cut the field. Does that look correct to you? Because they, the way they have ’em named.
Caleb Beaver (28:28):
Yeah. You’re gonna go three. Yeah. So quarter final round. Cut the field. Semi final round. Cut the field. Final round scores.
Sevan Matossian (28:35):
One, one minute, Jamal. So, so if there’s 40 people who start, I think they’ll cut 10 or 20 when you get to the semifinal is what I’m saying?
Caleb Beaver (28:43):
No, it’ll be 3, 2, 1 go quarter final round. Um, and then they cut down to 30 and then they cut down to 20 or they cut 20 after the first
Sevan Matossian (28:53):
Round. Okay. So that, that’s what I’m saying. Okay, great. Wow. And it doesn’t say that. We’re just guessing that the way they’ve titled them. Mm-hmm <affirmative> so are each one of those three rounds?
Caleb Beaver (29:04):
No, it’s each one of those.
Sevan Matossian (29:06):
Oh, that’s why just three rounds of races
Sevan Matossian (29:10):
That’s a straight sprint.
Sevan Matossian (29:12):
Okay. So then they’ll do a cut and then they’ll go, uh, two pegboards ASEN as sense for the men? 50 unbroken, double unders uh, Ooh. Meaning if you fuck up the double under it has to be unbroke. Yep. Okay. Uh, 10 unbroken. Wow. Okay.
Also it says, it says strict peg BCEs. So not like a, like, I guess could you’re not using your leg.
Caleb Beaver (29:37):
Oh, wow. So it’s the, the first set is three peg descent and then the semifinal and the final round are strict P board descent. Wow. So you
Have sit like legs dangling,
Caleb Beaver (29:48):
Por 10. Can you pull up that double under crossover again? I just wanna watch that a little more.
Sevan Matossian (29:52):
Okay. I’m gonna talk to Jamal real quick. Jamal, how can I help you, brother?
Yeah. So just wanted to let y’all know with the double double.
